But every fight would end immediately and with no damage to you. You're omnipotent, after all.

Well good job, Han, you made a character that wins everything forever with absolutely zero effort.

Congratulations, you get a blue ribbon.

I feel like you're all just carrying on a conversation that involves me, without involving me... That kinda makes no sense how this conversation's going so well without the person that it's about being part of it it this kinda way.

No you wouldn't, because you know whatever it is you fight can't beat you, it'd be about as exciting as playing through a game using the invulnerability cheat code.

A fight with no competition is not a fight. It's like setting up the versus mode on a game but not giving anyone the other controller.

If you were omnipotent nothing would be fun as everything would be done so effortlessly and quick to render anything done by your meaningless

You're not particularly the center of attention in this conversation, though, it was about tactics and the class that's supposed to be teaching them.

Let's see...

  • Started at defining how the Logic & Defense class should go
  • moved on to military strategy
  • moved on to what few strategies a single target could come up with
  • moved on to discussing invincible unbeatable all-powerful beings

Don't know how this happened.

If you're omnipotent, you can make it so that they are able to hurt you. The omnipotent being would still win because they know everything but it would be fun to see how much damage they receive.

That's not how it works at all.

Shit that's basically the paradox of If God is so powerful can he make a rock so big even he can't lift it

You're mixing up omnipotent with omniscient. Omniscient is knowing everything. Also it still wouldn't be fun because it'd ultimately be an exercise in futility. Even the most adamant sociopath will get bored of torturing and taunting infinitely lesser beings that have no chance to strike back in any significant manner sooner or later, and then you're left where you started, untouchable and bored.

It wouldn't be fun, because you always win. A game by definition has a fail state; that's what makes it fun.

You, on the other hand, want a scenario where you never face any sort of adversity. Because you always win.

Omnipotent means all power, so it would include omniscient. So an omnipotent being would know everything and can do anything.

Nope, omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence are all constantly listed as separate attributes. You can easily possess the power to do anything you wish, anything at all, and still not know everything, because they're separate things.

Not necessarily. Have you ever watched The Twilight Zone? There's a really famous episode with an omnipotent child. However, being a child, he was not all-knowing and not all-wise. Thus, he became a horrible tyrant ruling over his parents and neighbors with the threat of total obliteration looming over them at all times. He could even be tricked.

God is omnipotent, yet, according to religion, he knows all, can do anything, can be anywhere at once, and can speak all languages.

That's because he's omnipotent, omniscient, and (in some faiths) omnipresent.

Omnipotence without omniscience is Book Dumb taken to its logical conclusion.

Those two said what I was going to. Look it up if you will, omnipotence does not automatically mean having all those things, only having infinite power. Now, whether such a power might be used to attain the other two is another matter entirely.

Sorry, that's what I meant by having all powers and can do anything. I know I wasn't clear. My bad.

Yes but see, the matter of whether omnipotence actually leads to omniscience and omnipresence is something to discuss. The Twilight Zone episode Dr Bones mentioned is a terrific example of it. All this talk about omnipotence has me thinking though. Your character's ability is only listed as "trinity force" with no explanation or anything of the sort. So, what does that do exactly? What are its limits? As it is, it's about as comprehensive as Newtypes' "I can do anything" no CS characters, which is in a way omnipotence in freeform (after all, you can just make up powers on the fly), which would be godmodding. While it's moderately understandable in the case of NPCs meant to control a group of immensely powerful characters in a school setting, a regular PC would have a lot less leeway I'd think.
