@Newtype, if Mr. X is going to remain a character with abilities and such, could you please make a character sheet so we know how to work with him?

Her spooking ability crashing against the Fear Masking granted by his ability in general, the result was headache and of course X almost taking her head off with his sword glowing with spirit energy.
Jesus pancake-flipping Christ @Newtype what part of "Scare ANYTHING" does your godmoding self not understand?

Since "Mr. Z" is gone, who do you want to play as the teacher for Defense & Logic?

I'd give it a go if you're fine with a lazy teacher that just lets the students test their defense strategies out in regular combat. *potential teacher yawns* "Eh, I'll just tell 'em not to get caught off guard and to always have some solid structure behind you, but make sure it's something you can easily get around in case of retreat." -Mr. Jake Sleever (Sleever in place a' Sleeper xD )

UltraYuseke, we already have two classes that consist entirely of FIGHT THIS GUY courtesy of Newtype, why would we need a third?

I thought "Defense & Logic" was more tactics and strategy than battle royales. There's already a class for standard usage of magical abilities and standard usage of magical equipment. What role would Defense & Logic fill if it was just straight combat?

That was a joke, y'know... Dammit, nobody ever understands the jokes of the younger brother. It's always the brothers that have younger sisters that get their jokes understood, not the brothers with older sisters. (#TheMoreYouKnow)

As a younger brother, I can sympathize. In any case, the Defense & Logic teacher'll need to be willing to think in macroscopic terms and have knowledge of historic battles.

If no one else wants to come out and do it, I can give it a shot.

Well, Defense and Logic doesn't really sound like it actually has anything to do with history. It sounds more like Newtype just decided to do it that way. I'm guessing it's really a class to expand the brain's capabilities of strategy so one can understand what to do should they be placed in an extremely difficult situation in which all they can do is dodge, run, and pray they can block whatever death comes for them.

That sounds like a rather narrow scope for a curriculum. Like, even narrower than "Defense Against The Dark Arts" scope.

This is basically a military school, so it should have a military strategy class. Military strategy heavily relies on logic, and generally involves defensive positions. Logically, the military strategy class would be Defense & Logic.

So, you have to understand logic to be taught logic? That's a nice little improper wordin' that's sneakily within your post xD

Everybody starts with a little bit of knowledge. The average person's got just enough logic in them to understand that "run across the field and get 'em" isn't the soundest strategy, but it takes a good bit of learning to understand how climate, weather, troop morale, supplies, and training can affect the way a battle goes.

Wait...you're not supposed to run out, guns blazing? Wow, you really do learn something everyday.

Wolves don't just run solo in a head-on fight. They use pack tactics, and specifically target the weaker members of their prey.

Yes, but you're forgetting who Kael is. He's a solo fighter. Given he doesn't have a pack, runnin' straight out's best for him.

Kael'd do best with the running straight out tactic. He is a giant demon wolf, after all.
Assuming you're fighting someone who isn't similarly broken, yes.

But if it was for fighting those sorts of people he wouldn't be here in the first place, would he? If it was normal people, well, we could just sent Mr. X and his Baskin-Robbins 31 flavors of godmode and solve this whole conflict thing in about two seconds, wouldn't we?

Wolves are pack animals.

Seriously go use a big cat or any other solitary predatory animal

If you're solo, charging in is an even worse idea than when you're in a group. In a group running straight out is still a bad call, but at least you have a whole lot of other people to back you up and can overwhelm an enemy with numbers. When you're on your own you have to make sure you're not overwhelmed yourself and comitting to the attack and charging straight at the enemy is a good way to get surrounded and beaten to a pulp.
