Fantasy Supernatural Teenage Drama

Nico shrugged his shoulders at Ryan's question. "Wait Ryan, whose is that then?" Someone stopped by in the hall reading the sign. "Friend's brother...now please excuse me" Ryan responded reaching his locker and taking the hover board out. "Nico, hold tight. Actually..." Ryan said taking Nico off his shoulder and carrying him in his arms. The teen closed his locker then turned on the board. "Much safer this way" He said riding the board down the hall. No one was in that wing anyway. Now, where exactly was the principal's office. Ryan had never been there in all his years at that school.

As Dexter turned away to go sit down somewhere, he felt an arm lasso it's way around him and it pulled him in the opposite direction like an angry bull. Dexter looked up at Ryder with a blank expression and then glared at the floor intently. He could tell that Ryder was apologetic in the way he worded his protest, but the voices just now continued to tug at the back of his mind. He leaned into Ryder again, but his body went more rigid and robotic than before. His hands decided to stay on his jacket instead, making sure it didn't fall off on accident.

Ryder could tell Dexter was upset, but there wasn't much else he could do about it. Sighing, he unconsciously played with the hair on the back of Dex's neck while he looked around, mentally gauging how much strength he had. "Anyone got a watch? The clock's broken." He gestured towards the shattered device. A student let him know that it was about ten minutes into fifth bell. "Where's a fire user when you need her?" Ryder muttered, thinking of how useful Jackie would be in this situation.

Miuna sat on the edge of the roof, swinging her legs while Yuki bit her nails in apprehension. "Calm down, Yuki. I'm not going to fall. Even if I do, I won't die. The spirits can catch me. If they want," she tacked on at the end, sending the spirit guide into nervousness again. "I'm just kidding. Hey, Yuki," she turned to face her, the eyepatch lying on the pebbles next to them. "I can see you now without changing focus. That's not bad. I think."

Dexter clinged to Ryder in silence, again trying to come up with a solution to their little problem that he had caused. "...I'm sorry... I should've been more careful." he mumbled again, relaxing his body slightly. The voices began patronizing him for not being more careful and he grasped his head again, trying to nullify the pain by massaging his scalp. He endured through it as he reached into the depths of his mind for an answer. He felt tremendous guilt for messing up again; he was normally in control when it came to using his powers, but now it was like something was distracting him all the time. He began to grow impatient. "Hey Ryder, can you let me look at the door for a second? I have something in mind." He said softly, looking up at him with expecting eyes. If he could freeze a whole classroom, with enough focus, control, and care he could find a way to reheat the door so that it could open again.

Ryder began to deny his apology, but figured it would be best if he left it with a simple "It's okay. I don't mind." He nodded at his request and turned so Dex was facing the door. "You gonna try something?" he questioned, curious as to whether he had enough power to have an effect on the thick layer of ice around the room. They had used a lot earlier. "Careful. Don't overdo yourself." If Dex passed out again, Ryder wouldn't be able to take him to the nurse anytime soon.

Dexter exhaled through pursed lips as he was turned so that he was facing the door. He placed both hands on the thick layer of ice; it stung his hand as he did so, but he numbed through the pain for now. "I'll try my best." He stated, determination filling his weaker voice from before. He ignored the pain of the ice numbing his hands and tuned out the voices and emotions that filled the classroom. He felt the heat flow out of his body and into his arms, but it wasn't enough to flow into his hands. He squinted as the sting from the ice worsened. If he wasn't careful he would end up with frostbite. His focus faltered for a moment before a lightbulb went off in his head. "Hey Ryder, you don't mind if I ask you to hold onto me tighter, would you?" He asked with a little timidness back in his voice. Ryder seemed to be able to adapt to any situation effortlessly; he wondered if that could apply to anyone else.

Ryder raised an eyebrow, but shrugged and did as told. His arms slid around Dexter's waist from behind and locked tight, pressing the two of them together. "Uh, this okay?" he asked, the slightest hint of red coloring his cheeks. Telling himself it was for their own good, Ryder closed his eyes and shut up the voices in his head that were screaming at him to let go and apologize.

Dexter blushed deeply as he felt the other boy press against him. But then it happened. As Ryder tightened himself around him, he could feel a fiery sensation that flowed from his center and then spread out all over his body. The sensation tickled its way up his arms and into his freezing hands. "Bingo!" Dexter exclaimed internally. Focusing as calmly as he could, he felt the freezing numbness disappear from his hands. His hands' spot on the door became wet as it slowly melted the ice underneath them. The burning sensation surprised Dexter a little bit, but it didn't seem to harm him in any way. Finally sorting this mess out, Dexter focused on the heat between him and Ryder and continued to melt the door down. It took a couple of minutes for the melted spots to spread out until it reached the door frame. After feeling satisfied with the results. Dexter gripped the door handle that was still frozen shut. In a matter of seconds, steam raised from that spot until the handle became almost hot to the touch. By this time, the door was covered in raindrops of water, warm steam filling the room. Dexter began stomping out the bits of sharp icicles on the bottom of the door, melting them slightly as he did so. The others in the class watched in awe and they began to move closer to them. Dexter tried the door handle once and it opened up with little difficulty.

Ryder whistled, letting Dexter go at last. "D***, boy. That was pretty cool." He stepped up to the door and kicked it open, stepping through and cringing from the loud creak the hinges emitted. "Let's not try that again anytime soon, yeah?" Ryder shoved his hands in his pockets and began to head down the hall before realizing that he was only wearing a tank top that was damp from the water dripping down moments prior. "I should go change," he muttered, examining it sorrowfully.

Just as Jordan was waiting for an answer from Rob, she saw Ryan heading down the hallway with Nico on a hover board. Her eyes widened in awe as she watched the two come by, "Whoa, Ryan...! Nice ride...!" She laughed softly, slightly nervous. She bit her lip and glanced at Rob, "Guess he's not in class yet." She muttered.

Ryan zoomed by when Nico grabbed his hair, "JABADAH!" Nico slapped Ryan across the face not only accomplishing to stop the fun ride, but also making Ryan fly off the board, "Nico!" He grabbed the baby and guarded him with his arms when they hit the floor. "Wah?" Nico touched Ryan's cheek, "I was going to stop...it seems like your senses might be more advanced than mine though. Or, your emotional radar is really strong". Ryan sat up and looked at Jordan, "Thanks by the way".

Jordan gasped softly when they fell off the board and quickly headed over, kneeling down by them. "Oh gosh, are you guys alright!?" She asked stroking Nico's cheek gently then looking up at Ryan, and smiled softly, "I'm sorry for making you fall off your board, Romeo..." She laughed nervously, an looked over at the board, admiring it.

Nico nodded and hugged Jabadah, "Jabby!" Ryan stood up, "It's fine Juliet". He noticed Jordan's interest in the board, "Do you want to try it?" Ryan looked over at Rob, "Would you like to try it out too?"

"Um I guess not. When did... he invent a hover board?" Rob watched Ryan go down the hallway with Jordan, "And if we were Miu, where would we be?" He scratched his head, "We are not very good detectives it seems." Then Rob looked at Jordan, "Shall we go adventuring?"

She laughed from Nico and hugged him back then Jordan looked between Rob and Ryan for a moment, then at the hover board and back at Ryan, "... Uh... I better not..." She laughed nervously again and looked down biting her lip, then looked at Rob, "We could look for Miu." She glanced at Ryan, "But first, where were you headed?"

Ryan responded, "Principal's office...it's nothing that needs to be rushed though since I was just looking around for Bella to see if I could end my babysitting gig early". He thought for a moment, "Where are you guys headed?"

Dexter chuffed a laugh at Ryder and then followed it with a sigh of relief. He began to remove Ryder's jacket when he realized how hot and sweaty he was underneath it. He could feel beads of sweat slide down his cheek and he saw fresh armpit sweat in the corners of his shirt. He cursed internally, wishing that there was any way he could dry off. He glanced at Ryder who was soaked in sweat, making his skin shine under the bright ceiling lights and made his tank top look like it just got out of the washing machine. "Hey don't forget this." He said passing his jacket to him. He looked down to see his wet shirt cling to his muscles and he fought the urge to bite or lick his lips in approval. He flashed an awkward smile, slightly laughing at himself. "Man I'm so thirsty."

Jordan raised an eyebrow when he said he was headed for the principal's office, but figured he wasn't in trouble so didn't comment about it. She smiled softly, "I don't really know to be honest. Rob and I were actually saying that maybe, just maybe we could find you and Miu and walk around for the last period. Rob doesn't have a class to go to right now, but I have English so... I could get in trouble." She scowled for a moment, "But I already understand everything we're talking about in the class more than enough." She looked at Ryan, wondering what he thought. "But... You probably have class too, and I don't want you to get into trouble or anything... I mean it's your choice of course! If you want to come or not... I'm ruining my reputation." She rambled slightly.

The teacher was nearly in tears by the time they got out. "You guys are dismissed for the day. Rest up and keep yourselves warm." She proceeded to vanish down the hall, wiping her eyes frantically.

Ryder snickered at the sight and took the jacket back before glancing at Dex. They had the last two hours to do whatever they wanted. He didn't want to part ways with Dex yet, despite the awkwardness between them. "Wanna hang at my place? I've got my room to myself 'cause my roommate dropped out yesterday. We could play Mario Kart or something." He ran a hand through his hair, leaving it wayward.

Dexter considered his proposal before nearly busting out laughing at his last statement. He grinned brightly. "Why not? I hope you don't feel some type of way about it once I start my winning streak." he boasted while adjusting his scarf so that it was looser around his neck.

"I don't have a class right now..you know you can talk to the office people and ask if you can attend certain days in English? Because tomorrow I'm supposed to have English class around this time" Ryan said. Nico grabbed Ryan's head and nodded it for him. The teen laughed, "Alright let's go find Miu".

Ryder scoffed. "Yeah, right. Sure. Like that's gonna happen." He carried his coat over his shoulder and led the way to his dorm. A shower would likely be necessary once they arrived. It was fairly warm outside, which didn't help at all. Opening the door for Dex, he motioned towards the left passage. "All the way down that hall. Last room to the right. I might've left it unlocked."

"Where would she be? Because we cant look in her class, because thats the one place she wont be." He walked with the other two, "How does that even work for her? She never gets in trouble. The teachers dont even try to stop her. Have you guys noticed that?" He raised a brow looking at the others.

Jordan looked at Ryan from his statement and she smiled, "I think I'll have to do that." She watched him for a moment then shifted her eyes to Nico and smiled, then looked at Rob focusing on him. "I have noticed that. It kind of bugs me. Not that I want her to get in trouble! But you heard what she said at lunch... It's like the teachers have given up on her..." She frowned and looked down. "Why would they do that...?"

Ryan shrugged at their questions. Nico kept staring and smiling at Queen Jabadah. "Did any of you two go to a place with Miu that seemed like she would go there again?...at this time?" Ryan asked.
