Fantasy Supernatural Teenage Drama

Miuna waved at Dexter from afar. He walked towards her, sticking to people he knew for now. "Umm... Miuna right? Glad I'm not the only one taking this class." he said looking around. He observed the current students in the center of the room. The circular stage in the middle of the room acted as a simulator. One student acted as a fire user while the other relied on speed. He was slightly intimidated by the intensity of the combat. He only excelled in moving quickly to avoid attacks, so he hoped he didn't need to be called up for now.

"That's not the only thing you're good at! I'm pretty sure you're good at protecting people, being shiny, fighting,...need I continue?" Ryan laughed. "The play practice later actually sounds kind of fun now that I remembered you, Miu, and Jordan will be there. I heard that they actually completed the rest of the cast members earlier" He said as he heard the bell ring. "Every minute we're getting closer to the actual performance" Ryan added when he glanced up at the clock.

Rob frowned a little, "Its a few months away right? I mean wont they have to build sets and what not? Get everything ready? And then we'll have to learn our words and stuff, I mean how.. It cant be too soon that would be crazy." He seemed worried now and looked at Rob, "Maybe we should just cancel this whole thing man, you're Romeo, just call it all off, 'Ha ha, Im in love with Rosalie still just kidding Julie!"

Ryan stopped walking and looked at the ground when Rob said to call the play off, "When we disobey Mr. G, he enhances the emotions that we barely feel or show". The teen looked back at Rob, "I see that your's is sadness especially crying? I would rather not share mine". He blinked a couple of times then continued walking. Ryan put a smile about his face quickly dismissing what he had just said about Mr. G, "So it's lunch now right?"

Alec went to his next class feeling considerably better after Miu's help. But the whispers in the hallway made his mood plummet.

"I heard they brought one of the ungifted in."

"One of the intruders..."

"How could they?"

He could hear the panic in some of the voices and he turned to one of the students. "Listen, I was there when it all went down. The guy is still unconscious and might've already been transferred to a normal hospital," he said quickly. The students fell silent at the sight of Alec.

"You were one of the ones they attacked! How could you let them bring him in there?" One protested. Alec sighed; he was trying to get them all to calm down before a fight broke out.

"Because I had no choice in the matter. They're as human as we are. Now shut up and go to class." With that, Alec brushed past them and continued down the hallway.

"I think so... Uh... Wanna eat together? I haven't seen Jordan all day. Hope she is okay, I know she did something with the Regular we have in the Infirmary that really made her tired." He looked at Ryan and walked with him. "Have you... seen Jordan?"

"Sure!" Ryan responded then quickly back tracked in his mind to check if he's seen Jordan or not. "I haven't seen her today" He added. Ryan said, "Give me a second Rob". He used his speed and ran to Italy to get a pizza. The teen ran back to Rob with a box of pizza fresh from the other country, "Alright where do you want to sit? Oh and I hope you like having toppings on your pizza because I can't finish this all by myself".

"Ever think about running track?" Rob asked as they walked over to an empty table. "Because that was insane." He looked around the cafeteria and saw that he was getting some pretty nasty looks. "Oh good, looks like the news that the Regular is in the infirmary has gotten out. At least we've got that going for us."

" Maybe.... At least it worked. Anyway, I have lunch now. Do you want to come?"

Charlotte was proud of herself, she blocked her mind perfectly. She was getting better at using her powers

"I have, but where's the fun if there's no real competition?" Ryan laughed, "Thanks anyway". He heard Rob mention something about the infirmary, "I knew I had to ask you about something. So, what is this regular infirmary thing about? Mind telling me what happened?" Ryan opened the pizza box and took a slice.

"Uh last night a group of ungift- er... Uh regular humans tried to come to the school, and they had guns... Well a few of the other students went out there to protect the school, but a fight broke out. Alec ended up getting shot, but Jordan and I went out to help, and basically we found a guy after everything died down... We couldn't leave him out there to die so we brought him back here... a few of the students disagree with that."

Ryan responded, "I believe you guys made the right decision. I'm proud of you...now help me with this pizza". He laughed a little then continued, "That was quite an adventure, lucky. I went out there too, but didn't stay long". Ryan recalled the previous night's events. The lamp throw, sleepwalking, electrical jargon, and ducks stuff was entertaining to him.

Finally the counselor spoke up, "It seems you've used more power than you needed to Jordan. Most people stop reading a person before a connection can be made." Jordan frowned, "But I didn't know that! I would have stopped if I did know." She was a little angry that over all these years, none of the teachers cared to tell her what advances she could make in her powers. All they taught her were blocks. And they still haven't taught her how to block emotions! Jordan shook her head frustrated. "Listen, Jordan. There's a happy medium between reading a person's conscious thoughts, and getting a connection to them. You can pull away from a person before that connection is made." Jordan thought for a moment, "Wait... Are connections bad...?" Ms. Tyriden considered this, "... Not necessarily... However they can be dangerous. Especially with your emotion power." Jordan frowned worried, "How so?" "In any connection you can see whatever happens to the person, and you also just feel close to the person, even if don't know them. It's like you've known the person forever sometimes. That can actually be a plus from a connection. However, if a connection is strong enough, you can feel whatever happens to the person. Both physically and mentally. If they are attacked, you are attacked as well. It's as if two bodies became one... I've heard some bad stories about these type of things happening..." Jordan's eyes widened, processing this, "I can see how that is bad... But does it have to be?" "No, of course not. But connections are unpredictable. Something could go wrong." "So how do I pull away from a person in time, to make sure I don't get one?" Ms. Tyriden thought for a moment, "It's not exactly about timing, it's more about paying attention to the amount of power you have used. Once you feel as if you've read a person like a book, as you said it, I bet that's when your connection forms. So you need to stop before that." Jordan frowned, "It sounds difficult. It's too hard to pull away in time." "If you want practice... Why don't you come over here again sometime, and we can work on it?" Jordan brightened, "That would wonderful, I'd be so grateful!" Ms. Tyriden nodded with a smile on her face, and they made plans to meet again later. The whole meeting went on longer than Jordan thought as she had missed a couple classes. The counselor reassured her that she would tell her teachers that Jordan had been with her. Finally Jordan stepped out of the room and started heading to the lunch room. She frowned when people looked over at her and started whispering. A pit started to grow in her stomach as she entered the cafeteria.

Ryan saw Jordan and waved at her, "Rob I found her". He looked back at the friend and took a bite from his pizza, "In someway, we'll stop the rest of them from looking at you guys like this. I don't know how, but it WILL happen. That, I can promise you Rob". The teen took another bite from his pizza.

Jordan shuffled to the table Ryan and Rob were at and sat down nervously, "Hi guys..." She looked at Rob and was grateful he was okay after yesterday. Unfortunately, it seemed like some events had been gossiped about, "Are they talking about... You know, the man?" She asked, then glanced at Ryan unsure if he knew.

Ryan nodded, "Yep. Don't worry it will stop, my Juliet". He smiled then gestured to the pizza, "Want some? It's fresh from Italy". The teen finished a slice then took a napkin to wipe his hands, "Maybe we can get permission to wipe off the haters' memories". Ryan thought for a moment, "Actually, all we need to do is come up with another thing worth talking about so that...the infirmary news will fade away".

Jordan smiled and shook her head, lightening up a bit when he called her Juliet. His light mood was going into her some, as well. Then she raised her eyebrows and took a pizza, "Thanks, and fresh from Italy, huh?" She thought about his words and nodded slowly, "Yeah, but what can be big enough to take their minds off that..?"

"Yep I got the pizza from there about five minutes ago" Ryan responded. He shrugged his shoulders, "The cast of the play? They seemed pretty entertained when they found out Rob and I were in it. I'm pretty sure Mr. G chose more interesting people to be in it as well. Aside from the play, I don't know. I'm not much of a gossip person...it's a field I am inexperienced at".

When Ryan said, 'My Juliet' Rob felt a pang of jealousy go through him quickly. He stopped for the briefest second and shrugged it off. He watched the two as they talked and kept eating his pizza. "Maybe I'll do awful as Mercutio and they'll all laugh about that." When the image of people laughing at him came into his head, he got nervous and blushed, "Oh god, what if they do laugh at me." he scratched his head, "I jsut wanted to be a tree." he sighed.

Ryan looked at Rob, "We wouldn't want Mr. G using his powers would we? You'll do fine as Mercutio! I know you will". He smiled, "You'll be better than the rest of the Mercutios that have ever existed". Ryan took a second slice of the pizza and began to eat it as well. The teen caught the sight of Lisa Minelli whispering into one of her friend's ears then laughing. "I know! We just need to think of something that Lisa would spread around...but we should try to avoid hurting others" Ryan said returning to the 'have any idea what's bigger than the infirmary' topic.

"Maybe if there was news of a power couple around campus? Get the news off of the guy until he gets outta here. He shouldnt be here for too long. I think they'll move him today." he looked at Ryan for a moment, then Jordan, and then back down at the pizza and continues to eat.

Jordan felt jealousy soar through for a very short moment, but it disappeared quickly. She eyed Rob slightly inferring it was from him. Then she smiled from both of Ryan's suggestions, "Those could work...!" She glanced at Rob and smiled reassuringly, "Also, I think if you put your mind to it, you'll do a great Mercutio! And to be honest, it feels good when the audience laughs... Maybe not at you, but if you messed up and covered yourself in a funny way, the audience might find it funny, and that's a good thing!" She looked back at Ryan thinking, "Now, I wonder what Lisa would spread around that wouldn't hurt others...?" Then she looked at Rob from his suggestion, "Yeah but then we'd need people to play along with that. I don't know who'd do that, unless it was real." She sighed.

"Well I mean... you two are Romeo and Juliet."

"What are you doing."

"Im sure that if the news that the two acting as romeo and Juliet were actually dating it would cause a stir."

"Shut up, shut up, shut up."

"Maybe get the news off of that guy, and you'd only have to keep it up for like a week, right?"

Jordan blinked surprised, "Oh uh..." She looked at Ryan nervously, "I don't know... That's just... I mean..." She bit her lip. Rob was right, it could work. However Jordan didn't want her first real 'boyfriend' to be just an act. She looked down, frowning.

Mr. G popped up near a bulletin board and posted the list of the play's members. He disappeared and a small crowd of students walked toward the list. "I told you Ryan was Romeo" "So Rob is the guy who wanted to be a tree?" "Isn't Jackie a girl's name? Why is she the prince?" "Jordan's Juliet? Lucky" "I didn't know they had an interest in theater" "Wolfie is in it?" "That ghost girl is the nurse?" "Wow...this is a powerlist. I'm definitely going to watch this". More comments were being made about the list.
Ryan saw Jordan frown, "I don't know Rob..that idea works I guess, but I'm not sure how well I'll be able to carry out that role. I've never had a girlfriend before so I've never really been or acted as a boyfriend". He was serious! That was why Mr. G used his romantic emotion whenever the teen disobeyed him.
