Fantasy Supernatural Teenage Drama

Ryan walked into Telepathy and sat down at a desk. The teen had no clue about what the class was going to do that day. He moved his hand through his hair then scanned the classroom. There were a few telepathic students in the class. Others were just as inexperienced in the field as him. Ryan looked at the board and waited for the teacher to say something.

Dexter endured everyone's invasive stares as he sat down in the seat at the very back corner of the room. He had a pet-peeve of not being able to see what was going on around him. He turned off his headphones as he made his way to the seat. He decided that he was going to take a break from putting up his emotional blockade for now, just until he had to use it. He flung the laptop case from his shoulder and placed the strap around the back of his chair when he heard Alec approach him.

"Heh, I half expected you to, just don't do anything that'll land you back in there okay? Your wounds aren't healed up all the way, I can tell." he noted, feeling short bursts of pain radiate on his own shoulder and side. "I guess it won't hurt to be in here for another year or so, I feel like I should be some type of tutor in here or somethin'" Dexter felt his heartbeat increase as he saw Ryan walk in. He tried inhaling some oxygen with great difficulty before plopping down in his seat, he decided to pretend he was getting supplies out so that he would seem like he didn't take notice.

"Well, no. The wounds won't heal for a week or two. We'll see about my arm." He sat down next to Dexter and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah, you could be. Dunno why I'm taking it. I already can shield my mind. Since my dad taught me." Alec's father had been a powerful telepath and had been able to manipulate what someone saw, heard, smelled, felt, or tasted- basically, he could change their reality. Alec hadn't inherited any of that, aside from his ability to touch someone's mind when in animal form. "I'm sure you'll end up tutoring most of the kids in this class."

Ryan looked over his shoulder when he heard a familiar voice, "Oh hey Alec". He shifted his gaze to the student sitting next to Alec, "What's up Dex? Second class together too?" The teen smiled, "I hope there are no fire flares again today" he stated looking at Alec. Were they going to try and block out each other's thoughts again?

Charlotte transformed into a shadow and walked to telepathy. She didn't care about arriving late but the resent punishments that had to do with social events was something Charlotte wanted to avoid, Charlotte arrived to the classroom and sat down. The teacher didn't notice her Appareance but she didn't know if the other students did.

"So they could learn from me, or to avoid the teach? That is the question." he smiled while grabbing his phone from his pocket. "I wouldn't rule this class out as being easy though. I'm sure the teacher wouldn't mind the fact that we know all of the basics.. and then some. Yeah, he won't mind at all." he remarked while giving him the look that said 'hey, I'm just joking!'. His eyes glanced over at Ryan as he heard his voice, his head awkwardly still facing Alec. "Ryan." he stated with an uncomfortable expression. "Yeah, ain't that a coincidence?" "Too late, the flares already started in my veins."

Alec chuckled. "Yeah, you probably know more than him." He paused, seeing Dexter's face. "What's wrong?" He asked, turning to see Ryan. Glancing between the two, he raised an eyebrow. "Am I missing something here?" Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the guy he had gotten into a fight with yesterday. He tensed up, but the kid seemed meek today and slipped into his seat. Turning back to his friend, Alec looked at Ryan again. "Care to fill me in?"

Ryan raised an eyebrow, "Fill you in with what?" He gave Alec a confused look. The teen seriously did not understand what Alec was talking about. Ryan glanced to his side and noticed a shadowy figure though. Wait, shadowy? He looked again at the shadow and jumped up, "Whoa...I mean cool. Sorry I had to take the whole shadow thing in first. Cool trick though" Ryan smiled then shifted his gaze back to Alec waiting for clarification.

Miuna giggled at Rob's response and swung to her feet. "That would be ideal. I'm gonna go to class now. Yuki says I'll be kicked out if I don't. Later, Bob," she called, unintentionally messing up his name. Waving her farewell, Miu slipped into her Telepathy class right before the teacher shut the door, earning herself a stern, yet resigned sigh. "You guys don't look good," she commented as she noticed the guys. "Are you in pain, Alec?" She took her seat next to the kid from before, having already forgiven him.

Alec shook his head and turned away from Ryan. "Well, yeah, but that's expected," he said with a sigh. "Not as bad as it could be. You okay?" He asked, remembering that she had been out in the forest last night as well. Even though he knew she was extremely powerful, Miu seemed tiny and vulnerable most of the time.

"Yeah, my sanit- uh nope! just my manners!" he muttered quickly with a hearty laugh. He stopped suddenly when still felt Ryan's confusion and then anxiousness from Alec. He glanced over at the guy as he sat down. "He must be missing his dignity." he stated in a matter of fact tone. "Sorry I kind of had a rude awakening back at the hospital, so I'm losing my marbles a bit today."

Miuna gave him a kind half smile. "I could be worse. Would you like me to try a remedy I've been learning? I've got the hang of it now. It won't heal you, but it'll take away the pain for a while." She glanced at the other two boys, about to ask them about their conditions but figuring they were deep in discussion.

Ryan nodded then faced back to the front of the room still confused. What did Alec need to be filled in on? What made Alec feel like he was missing something? Ryan dismissed the thoughts and looked at the teacher. Was the class going to just sit there or...? The teen relaxed himself and shifted his gaze to the wooden podium.

Alec hesitated. He didn't really know her, beyond what she could do- and you couldn't blame him for being nervous about it. "Uh, sure?" He said. She seemed nice enough and had no reason to do anything but help. Besides, he was sick of the pain already, and it was only fourth period. He glanced at the teacher, making sure he hadn't started class yet before turning back to Miuna. "Go ahead."

Miuna handed him a cookie to take his mind off of it. "Just pay attention to the food. It'll take me about ten seconds." Gentle so as not to hurt him, she placed her hands on his arm and closed her eyes, letting the energy flow from her fingertips through to his nerves. With a bit of effort, she managed to reduce the pain to a dull memory of an ache.

Alec bit into the cookie, watching her as she used her power. His muscles relaxed as the pain faded. "It worked. Thanks," he said in surprise, just as the teacher cleared his throat and started his lecture. Alec sat back in his seat and tried to pay attention but... He already knew all of this so far. He started drawing absently in his notebook, and eventually the outline of a wolf took shape.

"Consider it thanks for yesterday," she murmured, referencing his rushing to her defense, before facing forward. As the teacher's lesson dragged on, Miuna found herself slumping out of her seat until she was sitting on the ground next to the door. "Yuki," she whispered. "How much longer until we can leave?" When the spirit informed her that she still had the majority of class remaining, Miu's enthusiasm deflated and she tucked her knees up to her chin, trying to sleep.

Ryan listened to whatever the teacher was lecturing about. He hoped they would do some interactive activity again so that Ryan would remember more through his enhanced muscle memory. The lecture was somewhat interesting, then again Ryan already knew about seventy-five percent of what the teacher was lecturing about.

Dexter focused on finding a comfortable position to sit in as the lecture went on. After several minutes of moving, he placed his laptop case below his back so that his back wouldn't be stiff. He occasionally tapped in information on his phone's note app as a reminder for tidbits of info, even if he knew most of the information. Throughout the lesson he could sense the boredom laying heavily in the room. The students in front of him were whispering loudly to each other while the teacher spoke. As it dragged on, he could sense agitation from said teacher and he felt that transfer onto him. He didn't want to hear the teacher's mouth, so he took matters into his own hands. "Shut. Up." he said into both of their minds; instantly both of them stopped speaking. "..and copy every word that he says." On cue, both students took out their notebooks and began rapidly writing down every word the teacher uttered. He glanced at the teacher who had glanced in his direction. "Ignore them." he thought in his mind. Surprisingly, the teacher did as his mind told him to.

Ryan thought up an idea while he listened to the teacher. If this guy could read minds, then he could probably read his. Ryan began telling the teacher his suggestion through his mind. Doing an activity will allow students to honestly, stay awake, practice what he was teaching, and improve their skills. Ryan glanced at the clock then looked back at the teacher.

Charlotte tried to listen to the lecture as much as she could but getting bored was easy and Charlotte was almost asleep. She had too many things in her mind at the moment. Charlotte noticed the teacher stopped talking, like he was thinking of something. Charlotte hoped he was planning an interactive activity, she needed to distract her brain from all the things she had seen and her actions

When the bell was nearly over, the teacher finally wrapped up his lecture. "Now, for homework, practice shielding your minds. I'll know tomorrow who has and who hasn't the second you walk into the classroom," the teacher said. "And we'll test just how well you can keep someone out. I would recommend you actually practice. Class dismissed," he said, several minutes before the bell.

Alec didn't question the early dismissal and got up quickly, wanting to leave before any of the other telepathically gifted students decided to mess with the rest of the students. Once Dexter started, he had a feeling the others had caught on and were eager to show off what they could do.

Ryan walked out of the room then went straight into his Calculus class. "Excited about practice later Mr. Anderson?" Mr. G questioned sitting on a chair. "...yep" Ryan responded as he took a seat in a desk. The teacher smiled, "You WILL make it later and the days after..right?" Ryan nodded his head. He knew the teacher's ability to manipulate emotions and didn't even think of ditching the practice. "Anyway, math time" Mr. G turned to his board and began to write.

Charlotte went out of the class and headed to power control. It was a relief she had power control, that would give her time to do homework. Charlotte wished to have someone to practice with but she was not the best at making friends. Charlotte sat down at the end of the room and started to practice before the teacher started the class

Dexter was the first one out the door. He knew how these students were and he wasn't sticking around to be caught in the middle of what he inadvertently started. Instinctively he threw his headphones on and tried to make his way through the halls before they got too crowded to maneuver through. His phone switched to Heartbeat by Childish Gambino. He then started thinking about Ryan, frowning at the fact that he was too scared to acknowledge how he was feeling. You can't ever be sure with other guys, they may lead you into thinking that they like you in that way when they actually can't stand the thought of having any relations with another guy. It was always the case. Dexter's eyebrows furrowed deeper as he walked, trying his best to sort out his approach. Finally, he decided that it was best to act as naturally himself as possible. He seemed nice enough, Dexter would give it time to tell if there was anything to work with.
