Emile started to explain, and Chase crossed his arms over his chest as he was beginning to put two and two together before the man gave up. In other circumstances he might have found this far more humorous than he currently did but Chase was keeping himself respectful towards the two upset men. As per usual in Emile's frustration English failed him and he resorted to his default language. Inwardly he was grinning, outwardly he was waiting for the Alpha to resort to attempting to translate. Luckily for everyone involved Malcolm was there to do that for him. Admittedly he was a little for a loss of words, was Emile just looking for something to retaliate against? He glanced towards the renovated motel briefly before turning back towards them before eyeing Aaiden softly, "Are there any vacant rooms on the first floor?" He'd asked curiously, just to be sure. Knowing full well by the argument if there were that it wasn't anywhere near enough for the pack members moving in. But anything to appease Emile was better than nothing.

The situation with Thomas was a complicated emotional mess, but this? This situation could be dealt with easily he thought. There wasn't anything that could bring his mood back to what it had been at the armory, so Chase kept the relaxed stance. With his attention back on Emile he'd tilted his head slightly, "You can't seriously expect people to move out of their rooms because of a preference. And what's wrong with the second floor rooms? Joe and I were literally sleeping on cots in a tent with twenty other hunters so I know they can't be that bad." The sound of footsteps drew his attention momentarily as he recognized the sight of the young Djinn passing through them towards what he'd assume was where she was living at the motel. Chase was still sore about the stupid decision she'd made the night the Angel's had come. But as Ashley constantly reminded him, she was young and he'd made his share stupid decisions in his youth as well. The blonde had also asked him be nice, more or less given the Djinn had apologized since then. So when Ginny passed them by he'd given her a nod of recognition and a mustered up smile to try and not come off as the angry asshole he'd likely seemed that night.

With Ser Cain close on her heel she'd come to a hault next to an old oak tree that stood tall in the middle of the town center of Vitae.

With a kick of her boot, she popped the kickstand out and propped her motorbike against the old oak as she waited for her friend out in the open while the rain pelted heavily against her coat.

Mackenzie frowned deeply, her mind starting to clear enough after waking up from ... a dream? a vision? She wasn't entirely sure. She sighed heavily and leaned against Will's side, closing her eyes again as she rested her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat. "I don't know." She replied quietly. "I just know it's important; if we don't then we miss out on finding them. They're important to us, the 'grey skies'."

In the hall she could hear Ash's voice, speaking to someone quietly. She waited, expecting Ash to step in and give her shit about Will being in bed with her but instead Ash kept moving down the hall, talking. Mac shrugged it off - she must be on the phone and didn't know she was awake yet. She knew Ash to be quite diligent about her health - mostly because she knew she wasn't at all.

Morgan followed Adelaide up the stairs and to the doorway of the apartment they'd been directed to review. With the door opened, Morgan pass through the threshold first - if there had been a trap of any sort then it would do less damage to Morgan than Addy however all that was on the other side of the threshold was a sparsely decorated bachelor apartment. She turned back to look at Addy, still in the doorway with a shrug. "I don't know what I was expecting, to be honest." Something was off - had her on edge. It was different from the ghost sensation this was ... darker, far more sinister. Maybe the ghost knows what we're here for?

Emile grumbled his discontent hearing Chase chastise him for being adamant about housing on the first floor. He let Malcolm turn Aadien around and walk away with the hunter, turning to focus on Chase. "I want floor en bas because if we need to leave quick we non erm... traps?" He shook his head, knowing very well it was the incorrect word for what he was trying to explain. "I come here because it better than out there for our pack, mais, I do no think all des hunter like us here." He glanced back at the building, the exterior stairwells were better than any that might have been inside of a closed building. "It may be hard to do, mais we can still died." He raised a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, annoyed - mostly at himself - for what had transpired.

Christopher jogged towards the centre of the town square. He'd received the message from the front gate that Emilia had returned and while he didn't live that far off, exiting the house had been tricky. "Hey, hi. Sorry about making you late." He came to a stop beside her, looking over the dog briefly with mild confusion before continuing. "Niece and nephew weren't happy with the trade off: grandpa isn't as fun as uncle." He chuckled softly. "This your dog?" He asked, glancing around the other Vitae citizen that were milling around doing what they needed to for the day. "Or did you just find him here?"

William was quiet for a long while after Mackenzie spoke, turning briefly toward the door as he heard Ashley-May walking past before returning his attention to his fiancee. Slowly, he smiled and nodded. "Okay," he murmured, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead. "Tomorrow, then. Ash isn't going to be happy."

rsz_adelaide_4.jpg
Adelaide smiled as she stepped past her friend and further into the apartment. "That's the thing about spirits. They're unpredictable. So sometimes expecting nothing is the best bet," she said distractedly as her eyes wandered the simply-furnished bachelor pad. It was entirely unremarkable for the area and the demographics of its likely patrons... but she wasn't paying attention to the paint on the walls or the quality of the seat cushions. The psychic was reaching out to feel the presence of the ghost.

She didn't bother using an EMF meter like most hunters. It was redundant with her gift and it would frankly be useless in such a well-populated building during this time of day at any rate: too much electricity running. Instead, her mind narrowed as she wandered about the apartment in a near-trance, moving from room to room in order to determine where the invisible ley lines around them intersected and where she would be best served to begin the ritual. Ultimately she settled on the living room. Addy glanced over at Morgan, smiling gesturing her over. "Give me a hand?" she asked, hoping to move the sofa and rug clear in order to free up work space on the hardwood floor of the living room.

Crossroads Demon.jpg
Vahncry had watched the impromptu little trio arrive. Two dogs and a witch: all of them known to Hell, especially the latter. The demonness had stood well away at a distant street corner, hoping the nearby food stands and her own painstakingly-prepared essence of wolfsbane had done the trick in drowning out her scent to the two wolves. The two women made their way inside, igniting a brief flash of frustration as Vahncry watched them so casually enter the structure that had been steadfastly repelling her for days.

No longer.

Noting that they had seen fit to leave the handsome burly one on watch outside, the Crossroads Demon slowly began to make her way down the sidewalk, blending in with the crowd as she did so. She attempted to watch Brody from the corner of her eye as he made his rounds, minding the perimeter like a good guard dog. She smirked before taking her chance, sidestepping into an alleyway at the southern end of the building. Glancing in either direction to ensure she was alone, Vahncry hastily removed a curved blade from her belt and sliced her host's hand open before reaching into her duffel in order to remove a small phial filled with briny brown-yellow liquid and powdered bone. She uncorked it with her mouth, spitting the stopper away before pouring the liquid directly onto the gash in her palm. Finally, she began smearing the noxious mix of blood and elixir onto the wall, forming a series of macabre Enochian sigils.

Finally, she spoke the incantation itself. The mixture on the wall flashed with unnatural light and Vahncry felt an unmistakable surge of energy. It had taken her some time to find the proper spellwork and reagents to bypass the building's wards, but now she had done it with little time to spare. She let out a low whistle, turning to see the dark shadowy form of Obitus emerging from behind a nearby Dumpster. She smiled at her loyal hellhound. "Come on, boy," she cooed at the creature, who lumbered forward toward the breach in the brick-faced wall that was invisible to the naked eye. "They're in there somewhere. Bring the witch to me if you can. Devour the young wolf. Now..." the demonness licked her lips slowly. "Go fetch."

Obitus responded without hesitation, bounding through the solid wall as if it wasn't there and entering the apartment.

Amethyst

Gripping hard on Arthur's arm Amethyst finally got herself steady after a few moments. Using it as a guide forward she followed his voice to look in his direction. "I.. I don't like hurting people." Amethyst said now a few steps away from the cage. Having been couped up and unable to move around much the feeling of being outside of the cage made her feel better almost immediately. "I don't believe you. I want to, but my life has shown that I can't trust people put over me." Amethyst admitted will a sigh. "Maybe you are right and I just need to adjust. I don't really know if I can. Can broken people be fixed so easily?" Amethyst poised the question.

Holding her hands up she knew they were infront of her but she couldn't see her own form anymore. "Its so different, I don't feel whole yet I feel more myself than I can remember. The sensations are gone, I dont hear anything... the voice is gone and I don't know if I like that." Amethyst spoke letting Arthur continue leading her. "I feel helpless. Like the little blind girl again." Amethyst began to mumble, her skin forming goosebumps. "Uhm.. can I go back in the cage? Please." Amethyst said suddenly. The thought escaped her mouth so quickly she hadn't had time to stop herself. The sudden blurb was one of the most real things she had said since arriving and the sudden feeling of being helpless didn't help the rising fear she felt.

With Malcolm leading Aadien away he'd noted his earlier question fell on deaf ears. But he had an assumed answer anyhow, that each of them were occupied. The man huffed softly whilst Emile laid out his discomfort and reasons for not wanting to be on the second floor. Chase had followed his gaze the building, "I get it, I really do." This was far from what had more or less been discussed that night at the campground. Emile had wanted an area more secluded for the pack so they could set up a perimeter more or less. A motel shared with other people, hunters, and a Djinn it seemed, wasn't in the initial plan. "But let's be honest here. The first floor isn't much safer than the second. There's still a front door, a front window, and a back window. And any of us can handle a second floor jump from them if need be." He was both trying to be reassuring as well as pinpoint the flaws with being on the second floor himself. "We can try to make sure the pack all have adjoining rooms, so there's a third exit into another room of pack members if need be."

Chase understood the older man's fears of threats within the colony. Despite Brendan and Will seeming confident that any anti-wolf inhabitants had packed up and left, he had his doubts. Not everyone goes so quietly into the night. Joe had died here for being assumed a Wolf, that fact hung heavily on all the decisions going forward here when it comes to the pack. "The packs your responsibility so I can't tell you what to do. But I can suggest giving it a chance, maybe speak to some of the people on the first floor. I'm guessing they were warned that we would be moving in, we make friends with them and they might be more willing to keep an eye out as well." Chase shrugged, that was difficult to say. This was all new territory for him, he'd always just been a Hunter to others. Now he was a known Werewolf as well as Hunter. "Have you looked at the rooms?" He asked curiously, wondering if what Emile had seen inside was what set him off or if he'd done it the moment they arrived at the motel.

Chester led Lex to his room. He waited at the door as the other horseman hobbled in. This wasn’t exactly encouraging for Chaos’ long term goals, but short term was still workable.
“Bathroom’s through there.” He said, pointing the way. “Food should-“
Chester stopped his explanation as Lex wordlessly bee lined for the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. A few moments later, the sound of the shower started up.
“Well.” Chester thought. “He probably hasn’t bathed in 70 years.”
Relaxing on a chair, he checked his phone for updates. None from the hospital. If he was lucky, he’d have some time to coax Conquest into his plan before he had to move on to the next phase.
“Who’s on the list?” Lex’s voice called out from the bathroom, sounding a little better.
“What?” Chester responded, putting away his phone.
He got up and moved closer to the bathroom to hear better.
“If we are going to reclaim the title and power of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, we need more than just the two of us.” Lex continued. “Considering your inclusion of this...colony, I’ll bet you are also grown weaker, and have actually planned this out. That means you will have a short list of candidates for the new Horsemen.”
Chaos glowered at the closed bathroom door.
“Bright boy.” He muttered under his breath.
He forgot that behind his arrogance, Conquest actually had some brains.
“Oh, that.” He replied, keeping his annoyance out of his voice. “Well, I do so happen to have some of our siblings in mind. But I don’t want to bore with details after your long imprisonments. Get some food and rest befo-“
“Whose next, Chaos?” Conquest interrupted.
Chester sighed. He had been hoping to ease into this.
“Strife.” He answered, then braces for the backlash.

Ginny is a bit relieved, and smiles sheepishly at Chase, moving on. She’ll need to talk to him eventually of course, but both of them are busy at the moment. It’s not the time.

She heads to the room Chester has claimed, and knocks quietly on the door. If she were conquest right now, she wouldn’t want any sudden loud noises. “Room service!” She calls, adjusting the bags of food.

Thor figured it was long overdue to have a certain conversation with Ashley-May. The woman had never quite forgiven him for posing as Edgar, and his sudden return to life had likely not lessend the vast array of questions she undoubtedly had prepared for him. The Deity now knew her presence like the back of his hand and felt her presence in a hall. Like a mirage he disappeared before instantly appearing a few meters in front of her "I figured we should have a talk."

NanLia NanLia

Mackenzie rolled her eyes. "Ash can eat it. She knows very well I wasn't down for a wedding-wedding anyways. Just friends and officiant. I don't want anything crazy and I don't want people's attention." She shifted to lean against him, resting her head on his arm. She closed her eyes and continued. "I need to talk to Chase too. The visions ... prophecies? I'm not sure if they're both or the same. But one certainly has to do with him." She shrugged. "I can't make any sense of it and I need to talk to him about Thomas. I kept seeing a vision about that piece of shit. I don't know if it will make Chase feel any better or not but it made me feel better. I saw little glimpses of everyone, except for you and I. The only thing I saw for us was the grey skies and now I can't even remember most of it, except that it's important. I think it has to do with how close we are to the source of the prophecies, because of Heaven."

Morgan nodded, stepping along side of the sofa and leaning down to help Adelaide slide the furniture out of the way. Of course she could have easily done it herself but after spending time among the humans - specifically Adelaide, that they didn't like to be shown their physical weakness. More than once Adelaide has used her psychic abilities to remind her that while she might not be a match to her natural wolf strength, humanity had there own strengths. She set the rolled run atop the couch, looking over the large cleared space. "Now what?" She asked but entirely lost focus.

Something ... wrong was coming. Something dark. She turned to glance towards the doorway. This was different from the spirit - that has been anger and confusion but this was focused evil. "You need to hurry." She didn't look away form the door, hands already working to strip off of her clothing. "I don't know what this is but it's coming fast." She could feel her shift starting, not the same as her wolf but the one between, the one that borne human horror stories for centuries. She didn't have time to consider how Addy would react to it - the witch hadn't seen as of yet. Morgan didn't even like becoming it but she knew whatever was coming for them would need all of her strength.

Brody came around from front of the building into the alley, his third lap. He knew by now he could just wait by the car for the girls to finish or call but there had been hints to demon activity all around the building. Skye had warned Adelaide about the possibility but he hadn't picked up the scent of anything being near the building in days. As he rounded the corner he stopped dead, a woman standing a ways off down the alley way and near their car. He watched her warily, approaching slowly but as he neared, only twenty feet away or so, he came to realize exactly what she was. "Demon." He growled lowly, pausing and keeping his distance.

Arthur paused hearing Amethyst speak. He frowned deeply at her request to return to the cage but he certainly wasn't going to argue with her. Evelyn had returning, his wife glaring daggers at him from across the way. She was leading in captives with Davenport and he certainly wanted to know what had happened out in the field. "Alright then." He said softly, turning the girl around and heading back to her tent and cage. "I assume this decision is because you want the cuffs removed." He felt sorry for her, truth be told, he was offering her a truce, a partial freedom from the cage if she would renege the power given to her from the other dimensional being and she refused. It was unfortunate for her, as this decision would look poorly on herself.

Emile narrowed his eyes at Chase as he questioned if the Alpha had even looked at the rooms. His lips parted to argue but he huffed instead and crossed his arms. "Non." He hadn't even gone up the exterior stairs as he wasn't ready to concede. At least he wasn't ready to compromise further until Chase had come to argue the point with him. He'd made himself clear that the pack needed their own space, away from the other people in the colony. It wasn't just his paranoia that made the demand, he wanted to make sure that the few remaining members of his pack could acclimatize to the colony life in their own terms. Sharing a facility with others - and clearly not just humans, given the scents he'd been picking up since arriving.

"Je déteste le fait que vous pouvez me faire changer d'avis." He dropped his arms, reaching out for Chase's hand before nodding towards the building. "Let go see what they have, oui?"

"Christopher." He said slowly, tucking his hands into his pant pockets, slightly taken aback by the fact she hadn't recalled his name but remembered how to return to the colony. "Yeah, so the REC centre is this way," He nodded over his shoulder the way he had come. "I think they're still serving if you want to eat, or if there is something else I can show you? There aren't many attractions around our small town."

Ashley-May paces the hallways within the Clinic. The whisperer had returning, he still hadn't given his name but she had a few guesses. At first she'd been frightened by the whispers, very certain it was Adam - as he'd been known to reach out to others but at no time did he make her feel uncomfortable or appear to be a threat. He was confused, lonely and in need of her help. Today was no different, the conversation always starts the same. God loves you. I love you too. Usually she tells him to leave her alone - she'd made it clear to the whispers that she wouldn't respond if there were other people around. She didn't need anyone to think she was insane. Today she didn't mind so much - Mac was sleeping off her all night bender with Will and they didn't have any other patients for the time being.

I know you'll be a good mother. Liam is a lucky soul to have you to take care of him.
"That's kind of you to say." She flipped over her chart, marking down a few notes before selecting another file. "It makes me nervous to think I'm only a couple of months away-" She jumped, files and papers flying about as Thor appeared directly in front of her, declaring it was time for their 'talk'. "Right have I die of a heart attack." She breathed, hand rising to her chest as she felt her heart racing. "Damn it, Thor. Why?! Just use the door like anyone else!"

Chase took the invitation and grabbed on to Emile's hand and gave it a squeeze as the pair started moving towards the Motel. He hated seeing the man so frustrated or even defeated, and he also didn't like being a part of that. He shrugged his shoulders with a sigh, "I know this isn't exactly what we were hoping for. But we both knew Will couldn't make the call on everything he tried to promise us last night." He eyed the building ahead, trying to give it another look over before from the outside. It wasn't bad by any means, but maybe he was far too used to the standard Motel's from being on the road. He was thinking like a hunter, and Emile was thinking both as a wolf and as a leader. His issues with this were real and understood. "If all else fails we still have some of the tents. I'm guessing there has to be a few little hidden corners in Vitae where the pack could set up shop." He'd glanced at the man attached to him as the ascended the stairs to gauge whether that was a thought of interest or not. It's not like it was any different than how the pack had been living at the campground after-all. If Emile wanted an area to make a claim and protect there was likely vacant space somewhere. "I'd say we could ask to camp out on Will and the others front and back lawn but I'm not sure you want the pack anywhere near Mac. I'm also sure she'd either never sleep or move out, so that's likely out of the question."

William arched an eyebrow at Mackenzie's dismissive remark about Ashley-May, knowing full well the blonde would be devastated at not being able to host a grand wedding ceremony. Still, Ash would understand in time. Will didn't know what to make of the "gray skies", but he knew better than to question Mac's prophecies already. They weren't always crystal clear in meaning or context, but there was no doubting they were important. Still, the thought of Thomas brought a distant surge of anger and guilt to him despite the fact that any news concerning him seemed to be positive from Mac's perspective. Something to check on later, especially with the Pack having arrived at Vitae. For now, he raised a hand to brush through Mac's hair lightly. "Alright," he said quietly. "We'll figure it all out."

rsz_adelaide_4.jpg

Adelaide felt the change in the building's atmosphere, the surge of magic that briefly shattered the building's wards like glass and allowed... something, in. It was a dark shape in the back of her mind, flitting through the corridors of the building and closing in on them like a hunting dog with a scent... because that's what it was. A hellhound. Only once had Addy felt one's presence, the primal malevolent intent behind every step and snarl. It would be weaker now in the figurative light of day, but still no easy foe.

Morgan clearly sensed the presence too and was stripping down to face it. Addy opened her mouth to protest, but bit her tongue before nodding. "Morgan, be careful," she pleaded before forcing herself to focus on the task at hand. She used the newly-cleared hardwood flooring to begin drawing a series of overlapping runes with the chalk she had brought. The candles came next, placed down with a shaky hand around the perimeter of the runes and quickly lit. Then came the incantation, delivered in breathless Latin as Addy felt the hound drawing closer with each and every syllable she uttered.

The psychic finished the summoning seance, knowing the ghost that haunted this building would soon be visiting them. She hastily removed one final item from her bag -- a small Tupperware container -- hardly the traditional clay dish demanded by many self-respecting witches -- filled with a mix of Angelica root, Van Van oil, crossroad dirt, salt, and iron shavings. It was a variant of a purification ritual her great aunt had taught her as a girl: meant to cleanse a house of malevolent entities. Under normal circumstances it would require placing such containers on every floor in the north, south, east, and western corners of the structure. Addy was banking on just the one this time -- with the spirit having been summoned personally, it would bear the full brunt of the ritual.

Crossroads Demon.jpg

Vahncry turned to see the end of the alleyway blocked off by a familiar, broad figure. She smiled at Brody, a predatory gesture devoid of any humor. "I was wondering when the guard dog would come sniffing around," she said in a silky smooth tone. She began stepping slowly backward, deeper into the darkness of the alley in hopes of drawing the werewolf in further. "I'm afraid you're just a bit too late, handsome. My pet's already inside. Probably already picking his teeth with your mate. And if the witch puts up a fight, well..." she sighed wistfully. "...he'll tear out her pretty little throat."

The demoness shrugged before thrusting out one hand, projecting a wave of telekinetic energy that lifted Brody from his feet and pinned him to the brick wall of the alley. "I know you'd probably like to run inside and play hero, but I'd much rather you stay here and keep me company..." Vahncry purred sultrily, sashaying forward as her hand dipped beneath the hem of her dress to remove a shimmering silver dagger from its hidden sheath.

The sound of the shower was the only thing to hear for a few moments. Chester has a knowing look as he counted the seconds.
“Has something drastic changed about her and the relationship you share?” Came Lex’s voice finally.
“Nope.” Chester answered, mater of factly.
“So, you want to recruit someone who is, by nature, not a team player and hates you?”
At that moment, Ginny knocked on the door. Chester took the reprieve and went to the door.
“Ah, thank you, my dear.” He said with a smile. “If you could-“
“You know there is a reason why she didn’t remain with the Horsemen after you left.” Lex called after his brother, now out of the bathroom, dressed in a towel. “Even Death couldn’t always resist her discordant presence.“
“Aw, did big Dee got snippy with you?” Chaos snapped, turning to the younger horseman.
“This isn’t a game, Chaos.” Conquest said calmly. “Strife has an effect on people. If she still can’t or won’t control that, then the team will be divided.”

Thor smiled apologetically as he nearly gave Ash a heart attack, he thought it was slightly amusing that often when he tried to do something right he pissed her off "I am sorry if I startled you, it's an old habit - ancient really. In any case we have yet to have a proper talk about everything that has transpired, so if you want to ask anything, tell me something or strike me in the head with a fire extinguisher, I am here." The Deity wasn't entirely joking when he added the last part.

Ginny looks away quickly as she sees Conquest in a towel, coughing awkwardly. “Um… if I can say something? The team is already divided. We all have a hard time trusting each other, to be honest. Might not be the best time to bring in someone… overly antagonistic.” She says, glancing back at them. “Like… I want to trust all the people here, but a lot of them could kill me if they wanted to, and I would rather not encourage them.” She says with an awkward grin.

Emile smirked at the suggestion Chase put forward, a soft chuckle escaping his lips before he caught the look on the other mans face. "You serious?" He asked, rather incredulously, as they ascended the stairs headed for the second floor. "Merde, non. We stay here before we sleep in der yard come un petit. Err. Come tu dit. Lap dog. Non, we are no pets." There wasn't a chance Emile would succumb to living in the councilmen's yard. It had been hard enough to come to terms just staying inside the colonies walls; he wasn't going to push his pack further. Chase had mentioned the bigger issues (beyond his own self-respect). Mackenzie. He knew very well he couldn't stop Malcolm and Brody from trying to reach out to their kin but he could at least prevent the following aftermath from effecting the rest of his pack members.

At the top of the stairs he turned to look down the balcony - all the front doors slightly a jar, the keys left in the propped open doors for the pack members. He bit his tongue, keeping from commenting his suspicions that the people in the colony likely had copies of them. Instead he stepped to the nearest door, swinging it open and glancing inside. It appeared to be nothing more than your typical motel room, though cleaner than he expected it to be. Bed against one wall, tv mounted opposite. A small kitchenette containing what looking like a tabletop burner and a kettle. A far cry from the kitchen they had at the cabin, but already beyond that he could see the adjacent bathroom. "There," He pointed with his chin. "Your hot showers."

Mackenzie smiled slowly, dark eyes watching Will as he was clearly coming to terms with what she'd told him. She didn't doubt for a second that his hesitation about their early nuptials had more to do with Ash's temperament then the idea of behind bound to her. Spiritually anyways. She couldn't marry in any law abiding way, nor more than she could legally cross a boarder or enter a federal prison. There were few things she regretted in her life - but had she known years ago to at least try and avoid having her name added to nearly every wanted list between Vitae and Canada. "Did you write your vows yet?" She asked curiously. Ash had been on her case to write her own, she wondered if the blond had done the same to Will.

Morgan's heart was pounding in her chest. Adrenaline, fear and stress coursing through her veins putting pressure on her shift. She could hear the footsteps of the ... thing headed towards them. Not fast enough. The apartment doorway burst open, Morgan leapt - half shifted - towards it but fumbled. There was nothing there! She could hear it, smell it but couldn't see it. She swung back to Addy, shift complete she stood at her full height, hunched over as the ceiling brushed her head. She couldn't speak, not in any kind of intelligible way, but the confusion was written on her features. It didn't last long as something unseen plowed into her. She grunted under the impact, howling as it bit and tore into flesh.

She grasped it was her clawed hand, tearing the beast from her and tossing it aside. She could only tell where it had gone as it knocked furniture aside as it skidded. Rising once more, the wolf charged towards the beast, following the noises it made.

Brody snarled at the demon as it made a lame remark about Morgan. He was lifted from his feet and thrown against the brick with a grunt. He waited, for he demon to come closer - she had the upper hand at a distance, that was for certain, but he knew his strengths well enough. "You better kiss your pretty pet goodbye." He grumbled, though a small smile etched across his features. "You're going to lose it to an Alpha. Fuck. You won't even be able to get it's body back. Not with these wards."

Ashley-May narrowed her eyes at the god as he offered up retaliation as part of his way of making amends. "No, I don't want to hurt you - or try and hurt you." She glanced back over her shoulder towards Mac's room. She was probably still asleep and she didn't want to wake her. "Come on." She said, stepping past Thor and heading to the side exit of the building. Outside on the lawn she headed for a picnic table to take a seat. "I was mad at you." She stated, watching the god as he came to sit with her. "Was being the operative word. I get why you did what you did as Edgar but it bothered me. Were you actually my friend? Or were you just pretending so you could stay close to Liam and his Grace?"

William smiled, nodding slowly. "Yeah. Ash wouldn't let me rest otherwise," he said lightly. "I've got them down on paper, but..." he hesitated. "They never sound right. You deserve the best and I've never been good at..." she shrugged impotently, his smile turning rueful. "Look, I can't even find the words now," he joked. "I'll have to find some other way of letting you know I'm yours, I guess," Will said, leaning in to bring his lips to her own in a gentle kiss.

Adelaide Main.jpg
Adelaide wanted nothing more than to turn and help her friend with her battle, especially when she heard the young wolf cry out in pain in a way that stung her heart: half human cry, half howl. But Morgan fought back fiercely -- and there was little Adelaide could do against the hellhound, especially with what she had on hand. They had to finish what they came to do. As if on cue, she was there, in front of Addy. The spirit.

The woman was young -- just under middle-aged -- but her skin was pale, spectral water dripping from her skin and disappearing as it hit the floor. Her clothes were simple and drab, but waterlogged. Her blonde hair hung in strings around her head as her form shimmered, staring lifelessly at Addy. Adelaide felt a tinge of sympathy for the woman, but forced it down. "I'm sorry," she took a breath, about to speak the incantation to light the mixture and initiate the ritual. The spirit's eyes went icy with malice and before Addy could react, the container was flung from her hand and scattered against the opposite wall.

The psychic soon felt herself being flung back by the ghost, hitting the hardwood floor with a grunt before scrambling away. The ghost followed her at a slow pace, her bare feet leaving puddles on the floor where she walked. She soon loomed over Addy, holding out a bony hand...

"Emma," Addy said breathlessly. The spirit froze in place, a new emotion appearing on her face: recognition. "Emma, I know what happened to you. You only helped and healed, but they cursed you anyway. It wasn't fair, it wasn't right." Emma said nothing, continuing to look down at Adelaide with a cool stare. Addy continued: "But these people, the ones you've been hurting... they don't deserve it. I know it's hard sometimes. I've been hunted for what I am. But people aren't the enemy. That is." She pointed past Emma's shimmering form to where Morgan grappled with the hellhound, the monster's form invisible to Addy's eye though she could sense its presence all the same, like a dark shadow in her mind's eye.

"You can still help more than you've hurt, Emma," Addy said softly, but urgently. "It's time to move on, to go see Nathan and the others again. They're waiting for you." The spirit looked down at the ground, silent, and for a moment Adelaide feared she hadn't gotten through to her. Then, another drop of moisture fell from the ghost to the ground: a lone tear.

Emma said nothing, turning to look at the hellhound and then glance to the fireplace. Moments later, a heavy, wrought-iron fireplace poker came whipping through the air to clatter to the floor alongside Morgan. Then, without hesitation, Emma glided across the floor toward the hellhound. Obitus glanced up at his spectral assailant with a brief moment of confusion before growling, turning his attention away from the werewolf Alpha in order to leap at this new threat. The two incorporeal forms met in a bright flash of light and fire. When it settled, Emma was gone, and Obitus lay on the floor, visibly disoriented but still very much alive as he tried to right himself with a series of alarmed, guttural barks.

Vahncry rolled her eyes at Brody's bravado. "My master was right. You wolves really have bought your own press, haven't you? Your little mate, Alpha or otherwise, is nothing more than a feisty chew toy." She took another step toward Brody, brandishing the dagger. "But enough about that. You know Vitae... and Borseti. Tell me how to get in -- the weak points in the wards -- and I'll make it quick. If not..." the blade came up, and down, plunging the tip through the center of Brody's palm where it was pinned to the wall. Without missing a beat, she pulled the silver knife free and brought it to Brody's cheek, pushing down as she drew it across the flesh, just enough to part the skin and draw blood. "Things will get painful. I have all the time in the wor--"

The demonness paused as she felt a sudden surge of energy. The wards on the building dropped, the spirit inhabiting it was... gone. The Seal was reinforced. She turned, wide-eyed, toward the apartment, taking her attention away from her captive for the briefest of moments as the knife lowered slightly.

Chase scoffed dramatically at how easily his idea was pushed aside, for different reasons than he'd imagined. With the pair now inside one of the rooms he shrugged, "I think your standards are too high. Setting up tents on someone's lawn or some vacant grassy area in the colony wouldn't be that bad. Besides, Ash would likely be mother hen mode and make us all breakfast, then forcibly send Elijah out to our tents with the food." He gave a soft grin. Then set his sights to scanning the room, it was about what he'd expected. Typical motel room with minor upgrades for a small living space, Chase was so used to living in motel rooms he didn't see a problem with it. Emile was quick to mention the hot showers, something Chase might have griped about occasionally at the campsite. "I'd use them gratefully."

He'd moved to the back to glance inside the bathroom area briefly before stepping back into the more open part of the room with his hands on his hips. "We could always set up shop right outside the gates if you want to be desperate about it. Then the pack'll end up as gatekeepers. I don't hear you throwing out any ideas." That wasn't so favorable all things considered but Emile was clearly unhappy about the accommodations. Chase raised held his arms out with a defeated sigh, "Brendan invited us to come to the council meeting tomorrow morning. Seems they're going to have a chat about what to do with Thomas, you can always petition for something better then if you're going." Earlier he hadn't been sure if he cared enough to attend but now that he'd had a moment to breathe without smelling the man he suspected he'd be going if for nothing else than to know what's decided.

Thor took a seat and looked into the woman's eyes as he responded "The only thing I did lie to you about was my identity, and even in regards to that I kept it as truthful as possible, you might remember that Edgar had roots in Germany and Scandinavia? Truth to be told I loathe deceit, and keeping who I was a secret wasn't easy, but it was the only way I felt I could protect you. As for our friendship, it was genuine. Unlike most of my kin I have always enjoyed human company. That is why I came back, if your child and his grace was all I had cared about, I wouldn't have returned. But I did. Now, I make no claims of being perfect, and I know I have caused my fair share of hurt, but know this; I have only ever tried doing right by you and this entire colony."

Mackenzie raised an eyebrow as Will fumbled for words. It was unlike him. The man typically had more than enough to say just about anything, certainly when she'd done something *wrong*. She returned his kiss, her lips curling into a smirk. She leaned back just enough for their lips to part. "Oh I can think of plenty of ways." She murmured, a hand reaching up to curl into the collar of his shirt, pulling herself up against him.

She froze, her body stiffening as she felt her first Prophecy flash before her eyes. Watching once again the details of the Witch and Seals life through the events of Adelaide. With the Seal fulfilled the images dissipated. She could no longer 'see' the Seal (could remember it vividly) but it was gone from inside her head. "It's done," she whispered, slowly regaining control. "Addy did it. She strengthened the Seal."

Morgan took the reprieve in stride - waiting for the return of either ghost, demon dog or both. She winced and grimaced as she pushed herself up laboriously. The scent of blood filled the apartment, hers and the hellhounds, it was near overwhelming save for the distinct and foul scent of the hound itself. The flash was over and all it left was the hound, grappling with righting itself. Morgan didn't give it the opportunity, she charged, clawed appendages scratching impotently across the laminate floors before she gained traction.

The hound turned over as Morgan plowed into it, her jaws locking around its throat and pinning it back to the floor. She reached for the iron poker, wielding it like a pummel in her large hands awkwardly. Rearing back she drove the poker down and through the wounds on the hellhounds throat. It screeched and howled, the noise echoing through the apartment causing Morgan to wince, and turned her head away. The noise slowly abated, turning to a wheezing escape of air through the puncture until no more noise could be heard from the beast, not even it's heartbeat.

Emile paused as Chase offered the thought of the pack setting up camp outside the front gates of Vitae. They'd still be within the protective barrier of the colony but safe away from the human element. He stepped further into the room, turning to collapse back onto the bed, still listening as Chase quickly discounted the idea and he agreed; they didn't need to be the front lines now. At less than a dozen they needed to shore up their own ranks.

Emile rolled his eyes and grumbled at Chases complaint about not offering ideas. "Oh I did have a idea mais you, et Monsiuer Hendrix think it was bad. I wanted we stay at the camp." He paused, raising an eyebrow as Chase mentioned Brendans invitation to the morning meeting. He inhaled deeply and sighed, turning onto his side and proping up his head on his arm. "You think they will let him go?" It wasn't a secret that Emile feared this - he was a murderer but one of the colonies own.

Ashley-May felt a little overwhelmed by the way Thor went on to reassure her fears. The pregnancy hormones making it all the worse, she could feel the tears welling up in her eyes.

He's lying.

"I know you've done your best to help us, even if it didn't work out as planned." She smiled, reaching across the table to take his one of his hands in both of hers. She squeezed it. "We appreciate what you've done for us, even if not everyone shows it."

He's using you. He thinks you have power.

"What's next for you? Did Mac dole out any other Seals? I know Addy and Morgan headed out on one this morning."

Brody grimaced but didn't make a noise as the silver dagger pierced his palm, the silver continuing the pain after the fact, burning his flesh. He sighed, dramatically in an effort to play off the Demons continued hold over him. She could kill him but at the very least Addy and Morgan would be safe a little longer. "Painful isn't really worth trying. You know my name, you made that much effort, you'd think your informants would have mentioned the time I spent as a feeding bag for a nest of vampires. I didn't break then, you won't break me here."

He frowned following her gaze towards the upper floors of the building. Soon after a screeching howl echoed through the alley way. He smirked. "Guess your pet is the Alphas chew toy." With the demon distracted her hold over him slackened. Taking his opportunity he lunged forward, snapping at her neck and shoulder, his elongated teeth catching purchase just above her collar bone but not deep enough to hold for long. He only hoped it was long enough for the rest of his shift to come to pass.

Chase regarded the other man with a raised eyebrow as he lay on the bed, voicing once again that his idea had been to stay at the campground. He held his tongue rather than argue the point, instead opting to sit on the bed leaning back with his arms behind him and supporting his weight. Idly he stared at the television ahead of him and huffed after Emile's question, "Seems possible. Brendan mentioned exile or death." Neither were really optimal as far as Chase was concerned but like he'd told Brendan, he was ready for it to be done with. He knew Emile didn't like the thought of the man going free for obvious reasons, and Chase wouldn't pretend he was thrilled at the thought either. "The councilman said our voices would be heard, so we can push for him to put to death if need be." Chase got the feeling the council would be probably be swayed by his words or opinion on the matter considering he spoke for the victim. While he didn't want that sort of power, if it meant eliminating the chance of Thomas trying something against Vitae or the Pack he was more than willing.

The man glanced over his shoulder at Emile beside him on the bed. "Want me to get Malcolm so you two can talk out where you want to set up?" He'd asked softly, having run out of ideas currently and more or less ready to concede at what the two might decide on. It made more sense for the Beta to be here figuring this out than Chase frankly. Whilst Chase had a different outlook he didn't have the experience of positioning pack members living quarters safely. Or the same amount of experience when it came to dealing with Emile.

William returned Mackenzie's kiss, his eyes closing as he embraced his fiancee. However, they suddenly opened as he felt her tense up and he pulled away to look at her in concern: he recognized the distant, far-off look in her gaze. He resisted the urge to try and get her attention, waiting until whatever vision it might be had run its course so she could speak. As it happened, what she had to say brought no small amount of relief to him. He let out a sigh, feeling a weight lifted from his shoulders. "Good. They should be calling soon, then," he said, his voice quiet as he relaxed.

Adelaide 3.jpg
Adelaide watched the struggle between Morgan and the hound unfold, the werewolf grappling with the unseen -- but very much present -- monster. The howl that erupted when she delivered the fatal blow sent Addy briefly to her knees, hands cupping her ears as the soul-piercing sound finally lowered in volume until silencing. With the sound went the aura the hound gave off, ebbing away as it died. Addy wasted no time, scrambling across the floor to her friend's side and wrapping her arms around her -- heedless of the fact that she was unclothed and shifted into a form that would inspire nightmares in most. "You're hurt," she said, concern in her voice.

595884
Vahncry crashed to the ground as the burly Pack Guardian crashed into her frame. With his size and strength, he would have been formidable even without the wolf blood. With it, she was now at his mercy in a physical exchange -- and the disparity would only worsen as he shifted. She didn't know whether he was armed with any iron or holy water (or worse, a blade like his sister carried), but she wasn't intent on finding out. With one mighty heave, she pulled her meatbag's shoulder from the wolf's jaws. Flesh tore and blood spewed from the wound as she let out a cry of pain, rolling away from Brody.

As he prepared to pounce again, she looked up at him with one last scornful, red-eyed glare... before disappearing in a puff of black smoke, host and all.
