When the person you were rping with leaves, do you just not rp until they come back, or do you just continue to rp elsewhere and continue whatever story you had when they come back?

That's what I was thinking of, but I worry it will get confusing. If my oc goes out to meet other people, then my partner comes back to continue the rp, it may seem like I'm jumping back and forth between time. Plus, I don't want to bunny someone else's character and go "And X left the room and went on to do what they want to do."
