Zadock didn't need to see the demon with his eyes to be able to control his minions more than half of them had their own souls that were bonded to him so they would follow his orders. If the demon retreated into the earth then several ragmen would rush after him.

(He was flying, but he crashed into the earth to disappear, cause he’s just too outnumbered). The ragmen and dragon would find nothing, any trace of the demon’s body, and presence were gone.

The demon could feel an itching on his back and he could feel something trying to gain access to his mind. The thing felt a weird mix of anger and torment as well as hope and joy. The katana was using hope energy and fear energy to break down the demons soul from it's body.
