[Sulfurix and Gilmore] Ranch loss

He held her hand as they went, a slow sigh leaving them as he drove to the city and back to his mother and sister.

When he pulled the car into the parking spot, he had laid his leather coat over her before hopping out to take all the bags out of th back. He'd let her sleep for a bit more. He looked to the people bustling by, giving a nod to them. He felt out of place in the city again... Shaking his head, not hearing Vixi call his name from inside the truck, he pulled out his phone to call his sister. "Harry! Are you here?!" She chirped. "Yeah, come help me with the bags," he said. The young girl hung up quickly.

Before he knew it, Lindsey had run up behind him with a squeal of delight, hopping up to cling to her big brother. "Lindsey!" He gasped, throwing his arms back to catch her. She had her baggy sweat pants on and a sweater to fight the cold night. "I missed you, Harry!" She squeezed her arms around his shoulders before he dropped her onto the ground to give her a proper hug. "I missed you too, shorty." He mused. Lindsey only came halfway up his chest, since Harry stood at 6'3". "Help me with the bags," he said, letting go and handing her a few of them. "Okayyyy," she gave a fake groan before taking the bags and going across the street and to the apartment buildings that they lived in.

Harrison made sure she made it to the building before heading to Vixi's door, "oh, you're up," he smiled at her once he opened it. "Come on, we can head inside to get a good rest before tomorrow," he nodded, lending her a hand to help her out of the car.

Vixi looked at him and took his hand. She wrapped her arms around him and looked around."I feel so out of place here."She says.

She looked around as men stopped to look at her. Vixi glared at them as they walk inside. She was still in her black dress. She looked around the apartment and stopped inside the door. She looks around and hides behind Harrison. She was very shy and didn't know what it be Like and this was starting to make her feel uncomfortable. She didn't like the city and this apartment was definitely different. She clung to Harrison's side gently.

"I do too...always have," he admitted before locking up the truck once she was out and grabbing the rest of the bags as he led her towards the apartments.

After shoving the door open, he saw Lindsey lounged on the couch, flipping through TV channels. He kept an arm around Vixi to lead her more into the apartment so he could shut and lock the door after setting the bags down and leading her into the living room. "Vixi, this is my little sister, Lindsey." He introduced. Lindsey looked up, hopping from the couch and giving the older girl a bright smile. "Hey, Vixi." She chirped, hoping to help her feel a bit more at home here, knowing what she had been through.

Vixi bit her lip and nods to the girl. She held on to his side."Oh hey, nice to meet you."She sounded so southern to them here. She held out her hand."Heard a lit about you and your mother. You have a nice place. When you guys are free you should come to the barn. " She said. Vixi said. Her country accent definitely noticeable she sighed and stopped talking. She looked at her."I am sorry could I please use your restroom I should clean up."She says and looked around. she shook slightly.

Lindsey smiled at her, really wanting to help her feel like she belonged here so she'd feel safe. "Thanks, and I'd love to! Just have to work around school and homework," she huffed, making a small laugh leave Harrison before he looked to Vixi at her question, adoring her country accent.

"Yeah, it's down that hall, second door on the right," he gave her a gently hug before pointing to the hallway. There were some pictures on the walls, but each on lacked their father, purposely.

"Is mom still at work?" He asked Lindsey when Vixi had began walking to the bathroom. "Yeah, she'll be back late, like always," she sighed, going and flopping onto the couch. "How's school?" He asked, walking to the single lounge chair, snagging the pillow off so he could sit down and throw it at Lindsey. She caught it with a huff, "fine, I guess. I like my old school still..." She uttered softly. Harrison sighed, leaving back into the chair. "Don't worry, you'll be in college soon enough." He assured her.

Vixi went to the bathroom and cleaned her hands and face to get the tears off her face. She finished and walked out looking around. She looked at the pictures and smiles slightly m every thing seemed happy and here she was the downer. She felt bad and leaned on the wall. She breathed in and shook her head. She wasn't going to shed tears for her father here. She missed him.she missed taking care of him and his hugs. Him telling her head was full of butterflies when she messed up. She balls her fists up and shook her head. Vixi wasn't weak she slowly walked to the living room. She watched Harrison talk to his sister. Vixi smiles he was glad to be she could see it. At least he was happy here she sighed and grabbed her phone. She called the farm and walked down the hall. She missed Thair a lot.

The two siblings leaned against the couch, the tv running in the background with some useless commercial. "My teacher fell up the stairs today," Lindsey snickered, looking up to Harrison as he leaned back.

"What? How?" He couldn't help but let an amused smile slip onto his features as she shrugged. "She claims the stairs were wet, but I just think she can't walk at all." Lindsey giggled, putting a hand over her mouth at the thought before hopping to her feet and skipping to the small kitchen to grab a soda.

"Get me a drink, squirt," he called after her, leaning back against the couch, dropping his head back as well and thinking about today. It had been a long day...a sad one too. His eyes looked over to the hall Vixi was down, sighing softly. Lindsey came back and handed him a soda, sitting on the couch. "I hope she's okay..." Lindsey whispered, but truly neither could relate to the feelings she had to her father. They hate their father, while she loved hers. "Yeah...me too." Harrison uttered, slowly opening the coke and bringing it to his mouth. He really hoped some time away from the farm and her father's grave would help her cope, let her get her mind wrapped around the fact he was...gone.

Vixi had talked on the phone. She sighed and wiped her eye's. She looked at her reflection. She sighed and fixed her hair.Vixi fixed her eye's and sighed. She walked back to the living room. She leaned on the door of it and watched the tv.She sighed and finally walked in. "So your still in high school? "She asked. She gave a small smile. Her small voice seemed to startle them. Sorry didn't meant to freak you out."She said

(Also thank you. )

Harrison leaned back against the lounge chair he was in, having kicked his shoes off as he stared at the ceiling, partially asleep. Lindsey was leaning against the arm of the couch, watching the tv show that was currently on, unaware of Vixi by the door until her voice made her jump. When she turned, she couldn't help but smile did to the fact even Harry jumped. "Nah, it's cool," Lindsey gave her a smile. "But yeah, I'm in high school still." She answered. Harrison ran a hand through his hair before leaning back against the seat of the chair, dropping his head back and allowing a hardly audible breath push from his mouth.

A small smile tugged at Vixi's lips. She hadn't meant to freak them out.She walked over and made room in the chair next to Harrison and curled into his side. He definitely was the very thing keeping her apart. She looked at his sister and sighed. "So how do you like it and what grade are you? "Vixi asked her gently. She watched the girl with her normally bright blue eye's, but they were dull from all the crying and little sleep she has gotten. She was relaxed here not watching over her shoulder.

Harrison shifted over a bit to happily allow Vixi space next to him on the seat, dropping an arm around her but keeping his head tilted back. A small smile trailed his lips as she curled into his side, knowing she was safe here from everything that tormented her. Lindsey shifted on the couch to spread her long legs out on it. "I'm a sophomore," she chirped, "but I'm still getting used to the school." She admitted. "I've only been there for a week, its different from my last school." The fifteen year old smiled, "did you go to college? Harrison didn't, even though he had a football scholarship," she rambled. Harrison quickly snagged a pillow from the side of the chair that he was sitting on with his free hand, throwing it at her. "Hey!" Lindsey duller when the pillow hit her head, hair disheveled now. "Grumpy pants," she stuck her tongue out at him, Harrison lifting his head to do the same.

Vixi laughs. "No I graduated high school and took over my.. over my Farm."She said"why is your school different then the one you went to?"Vixi asks. She yawned and layed across Harrison's chest. She never had a sibling. So there playing around was kinda interesting.Vixi looked at Harrison. "If you had a full ride. Why didn't you go?"vixi asked him. Vixi watched them and shook her head. The interactions of siblings definitely like her and the animals on the farm. Yeah she was only child. She however never acted spoiled or had to be the center of attention.

Lindsey shrugged, "it's HUGE. I get lost all the time," she laughed, flopping back against the couch and using the pillow thrown at her to place under her head. Harrison leaned back when Vixi laid across his chest, but his jaw locked to her question. His face seemed to get cold for a second, looking up to the ceiling again, "I had to help our mom." He answered simply. Why was because of his father. Lindsey quickly got the hint and fell silent, looking to the tv. She never understood like he did, about their father, but knew not to dwell on it without Harrison getting that look. He had to give up his scholarship because he couldn't balance three jobs to help their mom along with school. His eyes stared at the ceiling before turning his head down a bit to look at her, "it...was a rough time for us," he added to try and explain a bit more.

Vixi nodded to his sister and stopped moving when shr felt Harrison go rigid at her question. She moved away from him a bit."oh I see."She said. "I didn't mean to pry."She said. Vixi fell silent and looked over at the tv. She never had one and it was different. She looked away and wrapped her arms around her torso. She curled up next to Harrison and sighed. She felt the tension and hid into the cushion. She sighed. She hadn't meant to make him mad.Vixi was pretty sensitive right now so she didn't want to make anything worse.

He frowned at himself when she moved away a bit, dropping his head back and mentally screaming at himself. She was sensitive right now, he knew it. The last thing she needed was to think she got him mad. The arm that was around her pulled her back to him a bit, shifting to where he could drop his head to rest against hers. "I'm sorry," he murmured into her hair for just her to hear. "Just...bad memories," he admitted, placing a kiss to her temple and holding his lips there for a few moments before pulling away, but keeping his arm hooked around her, his body loosening up again, muscles relaxing again.

Vixi felt him wrap around her and apologize. She nods."I am sorry. "She said and hugged him. Vixi let him kiss her temple and when he moved. She burried her face into his neck and sighed. Vixi had a stressful emotional day. She felt bad for dragging him through all that. She sighed and wrapped around him. She kissed his neck and gently fell asleep in his arms. She was so tired and being in his arms was nice. Vixi however had no dreams here. She rested comfortably on him in the chair.

He let his other arm move to slide around her when she hugged him and buried her face into his neck, holding her. It had been a rough day for her, and he hoped tomorrow would be a relief for her. A small breath of content slid from his mouth at the kiss against his neck, curling his arms more around her so he could hold her close as she fell asleep against him. He glanced over to Lindsey, who started making kissy faces at him. He rolled his eyes at her, but made no move to remove himself from Vixi, rather leaning back a bit more so she could lay down against his chest. Harrison leaned his own head back to shut his eyes and relax, while Lindsey eventually cut the tv off and went to her own room to sleep.

Vixi woke to the sound of a door closing. She had fallen asleep in Harrison's arms. She looked around almost forgetting he had taken her to the city. She had heard a door and looked around. She saw a woman walking into the apartment. Vixi stopped was this his mother. No it was hers. What in the hell was going on the apartment had gone dark and the woman beckoned her. She followed her mother and looked around. She was confused . she swore she was awake, she looked into the different room. Blood was every where. What had happened while she slept. She stopped opened the door. Vixi woke with a start and grabbed for Harrison when she did he felt cold. She looked and screamed at the blood. Vixi woke up for good this time and jumped. She breathed and looked around her head slipped from it's hiding place in his neck. She clung to him and sighed, trying to calm down. Vixi looked about the apartment. She was careful so she didn't wake Harrison. He needed sleep.

He had drifted off, head dropped against the seat's head rest, comforted by the weight of Vixi on his chest. It was a while longer when her head slipped away from his neck that he stirred slightly, one eye peeking open. His blurred vision settled onto Vixi, half asleep still. "You okay?" His rough voice slid out as her gave her a gentle squeeze to reassure her that nothing bad could happen to her here. That he had her. That they were far away. There was a security guard downstairs, who only let people who owned an apartment in--she was safe. He lifted one hand to let it run through her hair in a dazed manner.

(Sorry fell asleep been sick )

Vixi nods."sorry didn't mean to wake you."She says. She looked around again and nuzzels back into him. She let his hand run through her hair."I know were safe. Just odd dreams is all"she said and wrapped around him again. She looked at him. "Thank you for everything. "She said and gently kissed him."definitely a night in shining armor."She said with a small smile.Vixi curled up in to him again. Her head hidden in the crook of his neck. She how ever still wide awake, she shook off the dreams it was nothing. She needed to sleep.

(You need sleep if you're sick, love :c )

"Nah, it's fine," he murmured softly to her, letting his hand run through her hair as she spoke. "Just try and concentrate on something that makes you happy," he told her softly as she hid her head in the crook of his neck and curled up into him again. Knowing she was still wide awake, he dropped his head to rest his cheek against her head, starting to hum to her to try and help lull her to sleep.

(Yeah it sucks so much, but thank you )

Vixi sighed "hmm something that makes me happy.I would vest thing in my life besides Thair is you. You have been there for me and I have to thank you for that."She said. She kissed his neck gently and wrapped around him tightly. She listened to him hum. "I am so sorry if I made you mad earlier."She said and kissed his neck again. "I don't wish to make you mad."She said

At her words, he felt his heart squeeze a bit, in a good way. Harrison fell silent except for his humming, gently lacing his fingers through her hair slowly before hearing her apology. Pulling away slightly and ceasing to hum, Harry shook his head, using one hand to angle her chin up so she had to look up at him. "Trust me...nothing you have ever done has made me angry." He let his head lean down slightly to press his lips to hers for a good minute before pulling back. "I had to drop my scholarship because...my father walked out on us, and I couldn't balance school and working more than two jobs." He finally explained. She should know...if this--if they--were to go any further with...whatever this was. He brushed his thumb over her cheek bone. He wanted her to know everything about him, and he wanted to know every detail about her. Everything. A loving look filled his eyes as he looked to her, keeping his arms hooked around her. "You didn't make me mad," he confirmed, leaning his forehead to hers, his nose brushing the side of her nose now.
