Spike growled "I can't stand that big cat and even if I want to make friends with them they no way we catching up with them especially with Calvin having a sprain ankle it will be hard for us to run" calvin said to Spike "Hey you shouldn't have told them that we have no time to slow down I don't need them worrying at us let's go" As Calvin try to walk he almost fell and he limp as he walk

 

[Life.]

Alice stopped Calvin, "No. We cannot afford that ankle nor my shoulder or Pip's. Which means Spike is going to have to go after them, whether he likes it or not. Isn't that right Spike?"

Spike said "I can't go if I want to my ankle is hurt too I can't catch up to her with my ankle like this the only person that is able to run probably is you Alice"

 

[Life.]

Alice sighed and said, "Alright." She began to run but was intercepted by Pip. "I stand a better chance of catching up to them," he mewed. "But your shoulder is injured," Alice said. "It's fading and anyways it will be better for me to stretch it," Pip lied. Alice could tell he was lying but knowing his stubborn personality allowed him to go. "Run as fast as you can," Alice said. Pip nodded and sprinted off in the general direction that Faye and Riley took.

calvin spoke "Hey Alice will Pip be ok I mean you don't have to go to the trouble since it was my fault being clumsy and tripping over that rock"

 

[Life.]

Alice laughed, "It's not your fault it's the rock's fault. And yes I know Pip is going to be fine." Her eyes gazed off after her furry friend.


Pip huffed and puffed but never gave up as he ran after the tiger and girl.


"Faye c'mon slow down. Let's take a break," Riley complained. "I know what you are trying to do. You are hoping that they are coming after us and want me to stop just if by chance they do find us. I am not falling for that," Faye growled. Riley frowned and then out of impulse jumped off the tiger. "Riley!" Faye hissed. She stopped and ran back to the girl. Riley got up on her knees and coughed out dust. "I'm fine. Just some scrapes," Riley responded. "I know! What were you thinking?!" Faye screeched. "I wasn't," Riley answered.


Pip's ears stretched up as he heard the two familiar voices arguing. Yes! They are not far off!

Calvin start to make a splint for him and spike to use since he does not want to feel like he will be slowing down th team because of his carelessness

 

[Life.]

Pip gave an extra boost to his legs as he heard the arguing voices become louder. Soon he saw the two in sight. "Hey! We need to talk to you!" Pip yelled.


Faye hissed, "Great look who's coming, mini-me." Riley shushed her and squatted down to meet Pip's level, "You needed to talk to us?"

Calvin talked to Alice "Do you think that we will be close to the next town yet Alice"

 

[Life.]

Alice looked around. "At this point I don't know. I am not familiar with the landscape of this town," Alice answered.


Pip meowed, "We really need you guys. You guys seemed more expierenced and knowlegdable when it comes to cities and mutants. Will you join us?"

He blushes before asking Alice "Maybe after settling down and be safe from the mutants have you ever thought about starting a relationship with anybody?"

 

[Life.]

Alice turned her attention toward Calvin with wide eyes, "Um...no I haven't really thought about it. But maybe." Alice could tell he liked her but she was too worried about Pip at the moment.


Riley quickly answered, "Yes!" But at the same time Faye answered, "No!" Riley then snapped at Faye, "We are going to join them Faye. Whether you like it or not." Faye's eyes widened in surprise at Riley's harsh tone but then were replaced with a shining pride. "Very well Riley," Faye grumbled.

Calvin looks down knowing she probably know he likes her, but probably does not feel the same way, but he hides it with a smile "Ok know Them to make Spike a splint to" he went over to Spike and start to make a splint for him Spike smile as he does "you don't always have to put up the tough guy act infront of everyone"

 

[Life.]

Pip said, "R-really? Well...that's great. We need to head back to where the others are." Pip began to start limping back in the direction he came from aching on his injured shoulder. Riley came forward and scooped him up in her arms. "Here let's ride on top of Faye. It will take less time and effort," Riley said. Pip just nodded glad for the relief. Faye kept grumbling but said nothing out loud. Once Riley and Pip were on securely Faye sprinted back to where the others were waiting.

calvin is done fixing spike's splint calvin try to stand, but it is difficult for him to do, but he does his best to stand and laughs "I guess I will be on sniping duty for a while sorry for forcing you and Pip to do the work Alice"

 

[Life.]

"That is fine," Alice said, "I don't think I have a problem cooking for a while." Then Alice stood up to the sound of heavy footsteps and Pip yowling, "Hey guys! They joined the team!" Alice ran towards them to greet them, "I'm glad you guys decided to join us!" Riley laughed, "Well I decided while Faye was obligated to join." Faye nodded in response. "Well anyways it's great to have you on our team! Since it is getting late and we didn't find anything we are gong to head back to our hideout," Alice said. "Great," Riley piped up.

calvin and spike hops over to meet their new teamates and calvin said "Thanks for joining us we would really need your help and your knowledge to survive thank you for joining" calivn pokes spike and he growled "I guess we won't mind you tagging along you guess aren't completely useless"

Faye growled and shoved Spike, "Keep talking like that and you will be sorry!" Riley just sighed but didn't hold Faye back since she too didn't like Spike's comment. "No problem," Riley said, "But I do believe your companion could be nicer." She eyed Spike. Alice just picked up Pip and said, "Let's start heading back. Calvin take the lead with Spike and I will stay close to Riley and Faye just in case they get lost."

Calvin apologized to Faye and Riley "I am sorry about Spike comment, but that his way saying he is happy to have you on the team he just not good at talking to new people you can be to cautious sometimes me and him were betrayed many times before by people until we met Alice and Pip, but let not talk about the past lets keep moving" Spike huffed when Calvin said that but didn't say anything Calvin and Spike took the lead even through be in a lot of pain when walking try their best not to be see limping

 

[Life.]

Alice said, "Don't mind Spike he is the tough guy of their bond. Calvin is the one who you want to talk to." She let Pip curl around her neck as they walked on to their destination.


Riley and Faye followed behind them but at a slower pace. "Do you really think we can trust them?" Faye whispered. "They are the only humans I have seen in months Faye I think we can trust them," Riley whispered back, "Anyways we did work together fairly well." Faye sighed and walked on.

Spike said "Do you think we can trust those two i don't like the big cat" Calvin smiles and pet him "They are fine without them we might be dead I trust them" spike growled "Last time we trust the kid with the lion he killed your si....." Calvin glared at Spike "Shut up now" spike looks down and said "S-sorry"

 

[Life.]

Alice stretched her bad shoulder feeling the muscles ease. "That feels better," Alice sighed. Pip purred, "Today wasn't a bad day. We may have found more than we sought out to find." Alice nodded and looked back to make sure that Riley and Faye were following. She saw that they were deep in conversation with their heads close together. "It seems odd to see such a tiny girl with a huge Siberian Tiger," Alice commented. "Sounds like us but the opposite. A tiny cat with a tall human," Pip teased. Alice just smiled and petted Pip as they continued walking.

Calvin turned around as Spike keep infront to make sure there are no mutants and said "So Riley and Faye where are you guys heading too and what are your goals on this journey I can tell that both of you have a lot of experience"

 

[Life.]

Riley responded, "Um...well just survive. Oh and try to find the kill code."


"Oh and what about you guys?" Riley asked.
