Personality

Though she is often the most pragmatic and straightforward of the Crystal Gems, Garnet tends to act on intuition rather than seriously analyzing a situation, as often seen throughout the series. As the leader, Garnet is often the peacemaker of the Crystal Gems, especially when
Pearl and Amethyst start arguing. She demands utmost respect from the other Crystal Gems and is not hesitant to berate team members should they refuse to follow an order.

Equable and mellow, Garnet is capable of remaining composed in most situations- this part taken from Sapphire. This is displayed in the episode, "
The Return", where Amethyst and Pearl were at a loss for words when they tried to explain to Steven why he was forbidden from fighting alongside them at the Gem Warship's landing. Garnet was the only Crystal Gem who was able to effectively get their point across and convince Steven to join Beach City's evacuation. She was able to remain strong and act practically despite the dangerous and uncertain situation.

Garnet demonstrates a fierce competitive spirit. This is best seen while she's playing volleyball in "
Beach Party", "Steven Tag" in "Keep Beach City Weird" and arcade games in "Arcade Mania". Garnet also has a tendency to act in extremes, either maintaining her normally reserved nature or lashing out with extreme emotion, both of these personalities belonging to her two constituent Gems, the passionate Ruby and conservative Sapphire. Despite this, it should also be noted that Garnet can be seen with emotions neutral to these, but it is a rare occurrence.

While mostly level-headed, Garnet can still lose her cool. When Steven began rapidly aging in "
So Many Birthdays", Garnet started violently shaking him, thinking, in her desperation, that violence might be the answer. Another example of this can be seen in "Fusion Cuisine" as she panics under pressure when talking to Connie's mother over the phone, leading her to claim that Steven and Connie had died while playing with swords.

The de-fusion and eventual re-fusion of Ruby and Sapphire in "
The Return" and "Jail Break" appears to have had an impact on Garnet's personality; in consequent episodes she appears much more outspoken, lively and engaging. In "Jail Break", she shows great enthusiasm when reunited with Steven and in her fight with Jasper, as opposed to her reserved façade pre-regeneration. When looking at the events of "Joy Ride", she speaks the most out of the three, again contrasting with pre-regeneration Garnet. In "When It Rains", before the gems leave on a mission Garnet forms a heart with her hands and tells Steven she loves him. "Log Date 7 15 2" is the greatest example of Garnet's change as she talks to Peridot with openness, compassion and warmth, even offering to fuse with her to help them understand each other.

Garnet is also the most encouraging of the Crystal Gems, and is usually the first to give Steven the chance to try out his ideas (particularly in "
Marble Madness"). She prefers to emphasize when her show of trust causes a breakthrough, such as when Greg Universe helped in "The Message". However, when Garnet feels betrayed, such as in "Mirror Gem" or "Cry for Help", she can lash out with a temper that is rarely seen. This was an additional source of tension in "Cry for Help" onwards. "Future Vision" turned things on its head, as Garnet found she had betrayed Steven's trust in her, and subsequently felt self-remorse.

Garnet clearly believes fusion to be sacred and personal, something that can be traced back to Ruby rather than Sapphire. Garnet tells
Stevonnie in "Alone Together" that a fusion is considered neither one person nor two people, but rather an experience. She was open enough to answer Steven's personal questions regarding Ruby and Sapphire in "Keeping it Together". As such, any form of misuse of fusion greatly upsets Garnet and is one of the few things that breaks her otherwise calm and controlled demeanor; seeing Homeworld's experiments disturbed and frightened her so immensely that she nearly separated from the shock.

Garnet has demonstrated that she takes her position as leader seriously and has a strong moral compass. In "Cry for Help", Garnet is deeply disturbed by Pearl lying to her about Peridot rebuilding the Communication Tower so they can form
Sardonyx, and for wasting time in finding Peridot. Although she has a sense of morality and takes the team's ethic seriously, Garnet's silent and stoic nature does sometimes interfere with expressing her thoughts and feelings to her teammates. This has happened multiple times, as seen with Amethyst in "Reformed" with Amethyst racing to satisfy Garnet's demands and with Pearl in "Friend Ship" while Pearl was trying to make amends with Garnet by finding Peridot. Garnet's anger rendered her inarticulate enough that she was unable to tell Pearl that being tricked into repeated fusion without a real purpose left her feeling extremely violated. Garnet tends to be very independent, and she will often go on missions by herself even if others want to join her. She can be oblivious and stubborn, as seen with Pearl's warning in "Coach Steven" and to Steven's explanation of his dream in "Chille Tid".

Backstory

"Garnet" is the fusion of Ruby and Sapphire and the current leader of the Crystal Gems. Garnet is one of the last surviving Gems on Earth who joined the Crystal Gems in the rebellion against Gem Homeworld, and afterwards assisted her friends in protecting the Earth over the next millennia. After Rose Quartz gave up her physical form to give birth to her son, Steven Universe, Garnet took over as the leader of the group.

Powers

Garnet possesses standard Gem abilities and traits.

Garnet apparently has a high tolerance for pain, as shown in "So Many Birthdays" when she displays no visible reaction, let alone discomfort when Amethyst blindly swings a baseball bat at the side of her head. This is explained and justified since she is a fusion of two Gems. While not outright invincible, it is shown that Garnet is the most physically durable of the Gems. It is shown that she endures different levels of damage almost daily, withstanding falling cars, scuffles with Jasper, and various other forms of physical force.

  • Future Vision: Garnet can see multiple future outcomes and probabilities with her third eye (Sapphire's eye) as revealed in "Future Vision". This includes extremely unlikely and ridiculous outcomes, as a considerable amount of her available visions depict Steven's (and possibly other individuals') demise at the hands of mundane tasks or objects on a regular basis. The ability does take some time to use, as she has been shown in a thinking position when activating it. During that time, someone can alter the future, as seen in "Marble Madness", when Steven ruined the plan to learn about Peridot by going up to her while Garnet was still using future vision. This power comes from Sapphire, as confirmed in "Keystone Motel", although it is yet to be seen whether Sapphire's prediction abilities are more accurate than Garnet's. Her future vision seems to operate at will and with only specific details that she is looking for, as in "Cry for Help" when her future vision overlooked Pearl's actions and their consequences, Garnet only noticed that Peridot was in none of the potential futures. Garnet's future vision differs from Sapphire's in that Sapphire constantly sees one long-term future while Garnet searches through multiple short-term futures.

Temporary Power Transfer: In "Winter Forecast" and "Jail Break", it is shown that she can temporarily pass on her future vision ability to others through lip to forehead contact.

  • Heat Resistance: Her invulnerability is most commonly displayed in her extreme resistance to heat, from when she had scalding-hot coffee splash onto her without flinching in "Future Vision" to when she left to retrieve the Earth Beetle (which required her to swim in active lava) in "Giant Woman". It has also been said that she could swim in the core of the Sun and survive. This may be because of Ruby's thermo-regulation.

  • Electrokinesis: Garnet can generate electricity, as seen in "The Message" when she used it to charge the battery of Greg's van, "Catch and Release" tangling with Peridot, and "Arcade Mania" when she restarted "Meat Beat Mania" after Steven unplugged the game.

Electric Resistance: Garnet is impervious to electricity, as seen in "Future Vision" when she easily deflected a lightning bolt that was about to hit her and Steven with her gemstone. It, again, is seen in "Catch and Release" when she stopped Peridot's electricity from traveling down Amethyst's whip, only to send her own electricity back at her.

  • Electric Jump: In "When It Rains", Garnet uses her electrokinesis on the offensive for the second time, generating electricity and releasing it on impact with the ground, while the energy then travels to the target. This particular move is long-ranged.

Weapons

  • Gauntlet Proficiency: When channeling the collective power of the universe through her gemstones, Garnet can summon a pair of gauntlets. Garnet is highly proficient when using her gauntlets and is extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat. She can deal massive strikes that can easily shatter the earth and deliver swift blows with lightning speed.

  • Rocket Gauntlet: Garnet takes aim with her gauntlets and shoots them as projectiles in "Watermelon Steven". In "Reformed", after Garnet launches her gauntlets, her hands are detached from her body, and her gemstones are moved to the stubs of her arms.

  • Weapon Size Augmentation: Garnet can increase the size of her gauntlets, easily quadrupling their size, and deal increased damage at the cost of reduced speed. This was hinted during "Garnet's Universe".Being an imaginary story, that means Steven knew about that power before the real debut.

  • Deflection: Garnet can use her gauntlets as shields as seen in "Onion Trade" to deflect a volley of Dave Guys. They are also used in "Catch and Release" to block Peridot's electrokinetic discharge in Amethyst's whip, although it is unknown whether Garnet simply prevented the electric current using her gauntlets or absorbed it with her electrokinesis.

Personality: Steven is a lot of things, but first and foremost, he is doofy, incredibly kind, thoughtful, and empathetic to what many may think is a fault. Despite his natural kindness, he has seen and been through an incredibly amount of shit for a civilified part human part gem at only an age of fourteen. Despite his inherent child like nature that seems to have stretched far past his early youth, Steven has a deep, unfaltering sense of empathy for those around them, and inherent ability in relating, connecting, and fighting for those most would deem dangerous or unworthy of his compassion. Steven sees no one as being unworthy of friendship. The boy sees the best in everyone, even when the world is bleak, and works his best every day to live up to the name of being a Crystal Gem.

His greatest fear is disappointing, or worse yet, losing those of the Gems, his dad, Connie, and those he loves. He fears nothing worse than losing those close to him forever, and would do whatever it took to keep that from happening and puts a lot on his shoulders to keep that up; however rather than ever turning to violence, Steven tends to always remain true to his nature, always forgoing it for talking, for connecting, for reaching out and protecting whenever he can manage. He often surprises people with not just his ability in empathy, but too, for his ability to keep on going even in the face of disaster, insurmountable odds, and the consistent insanity all around him. He has his desire to be a Crystal Gem as his foundation but, of course, for Steven, insanity is normal. In fact, he often becomes somewhat blindsided and confused in fact of the every day for humans and those of a typical kid. School confuses him, and when his dad questions this life he honestly doesn't seem to understand what the problem is. To him, life threatening, nearly dying adventures are pretty expected, and something he takes with a goofy grin and a still always ready barrel of hugs.

He loves adventure, loves the mooshy, and is fascinated by anything cool and imagination derived, to any extent. Steven has never lost his kid-like innocence, even in face of death and destruction. He is also incredibly creative, and despite always seeming much, much younger than his years, also has a kind of wisdom to him that reaches the other gems when they need it most. Even while he isn't entirely bright or intelligent, he makes up for it with hard work and compassion. Steven also relies very heavily on the Gems and his dad when it comes not just to advice, but for protection and continued guidance. He takes their words and expectations seriously, even refusing to allow himself to watch TV when it was in front of him when grounded for 1,000 years, and more than anything in the world, more than anything, just wants to make them proud. He still holds a lot of burdens on his shoulders, and due to his inherent empathy seems to understand where the other Gems are at, and the twisted things that exist within their home life; both thanks to their inherent flaws and too because of Rose's decision to have him. Regardless, he loves and cares for them deeply, and nothing, it seems, could ever change that.

Back story: Steven's backstory is a complex, but simplistic one. His mother, Rose Quarts, gave her life up to create him, become half of him, and bring him into existence. He was raised as a baby and toddler by his father, Greg Universe, in a van and storage garage with nothing but road trips, live music, and Lil' Butler to grow up on; always promised the dream of, when he was older, moving in and battling side by side with the Crystal Gems. After Greg and the Gems built his house as apart of the temple, and once Steven had properly learned to play his own brand of music, he began to be raised by the Gems, and takes after them dearly. He's evolved a lot since originally moving in, taking on more and more responsibility, and growing and maturing in a lot of subtle, but very significant ways. Some of which have involved his abilities, listed below.

Powers: Steven has many abilities, much if not most of which are untapped, and all of which are emotion and instinctual based. Everything he has is centered around his emotional mind; when he wants to protect, when he's feeling happy, when he's scared or desperate. Many times his powers crop up on instinct; which can be difficult and trying. He's often scared he won't make it, that his powers won't work, and frets and distresses over failing in getting a handle of them all. So far, despite inherently sometimes not being reliable, these are his powers:

Bubble: Steven can both create Rose Quarts bubbles to bubble gems away to the temple for safe keeping, and create a kind of boundary shield bubble to keep those in his direct vicinity safe. While no where near as powerful as his actual shield, it does the trick in tight spots.

Shield: While he has gotten much better at it in recent days, creating a full fledged Rose Quarts shield takes a lot out of Steven. This shield is powerful enough to withstand even the most strongest of attacks; one that can grow from small to large depending on his inherent instinct in any given situations. The most he's been able to pull out in a single day so far has been three, however he gets better and better at it as time goes on and as death threatening situations crop up during intense mission.

Telepathy: This has come through both sleeping and connecting into other Gems' minds through dreams, as well as, on one occasion, simply being in the presence of, well, billions and billions of gem fragments. He can generally "sense" any gems and inherently feel whatever it is they are feeling.

Healing powers: Steven has, of all things, healing saliva. While it doesn't always work, his spit can inherently heal any wound or injury regardless of severity; whether it be human or gem. But, as is the typical with Steven's life, this power seems to come and go for reasons still beyond himself but may also inherently be tied into his subconscious and emotional state.

Floating: Steven can control how fast and slow he falls in relation to the gravity around him; however this is directly connected to his mood, emotion. When he's "happy," excited, generally on the up he floats high and falls slow, when he's miserable, scared, down, he falls fast. Like all his powers, things come and go, and are always difficult to get a solid grasp on.

Fusion: Unlike gems, Steven can fuse with human beings, thanks to his part human physiology. He is certainly one of a kind.

Transformation: Like other gems, Steven can (or at least has the inherent ability) to change his form. However, he has never actually successfully done more than create a number of sentient cat creatures across his body, which caused him a load of trouble and became far more than he could handle, or stretched for an unhealthy amount of time, only there in leading him to some further grave consequences.

Weapons: Steven has inherited his mother's shield, well known in battle and across the cosmos. It has also been known to have protected the core group of her closest friends when a mass gem weapon was released upon the Diamonds retreat and can, for the most part, deflect and protect against most any threat.

Evil, criminal, and won't hesitate to kill you. She gets easily offended and is really persuasive. She isn't good, but she gets a little better once you get on her good side. She teases and jokes and sometimes gets too close for comfort and she gets less serious with you. No matter what, she acts more important than you and she is in a way.

Back story:

Not much is known about his past, but he killed someone accidentally and he loved it. So he eventually got a criminal record and got caught once by Undyne. Now on the surface, she's kinda a big deal. Multiple deaths from the same cause by her, all of them messed with her. Trust me, when you meet her, NEVER say she's human.

-Police forces in [redacted] discovered another dead body, the 5th one in 1 week. They state the cause of death was multiple potent chemicals in the body. They discovered a cell phone in the victim's left pocket, with the following messages.

-Police have yet to discover the killer. They identified the body to be that of [redacted], a person with multiple DUI charges and was last seen in the underground subway system.

[redacted] Newspaper

Powers/Weapons: Fangs, once bitten she can inject a very lethal toxin into the bloodstream or anything that acts as such. Poison is produced in an organ that is the size of an eyeball in the back of her neck, it produces at the rate of 0.2 mL/second. She can sell this poison for a heavy price, as the natural ingredients are much harder to find. She recorded it to be a mixture of Cyanide, Arsenic, Mercury, and many other toxic chemicals to give it it's purple color. It is acidic outside of a host to contain it in and can melt aluminium.

The substance is also her life force, so she literally bleeds it when cut or scraped.

Tail, Tox has a pitch black, scaly tail with a sharp edge allowing her to cut like a knife. She doesn't use it often and hides it in her leggings. She uses it for self-defense only and to instill fear into others.

Immunity, Tox is immune to every chemical toxin. If she is poisoned, she can just add it to her own, making her's even more deadly. However, "magical" poisons can affect her like a curse or hex.

Her abilities are only in balance to help her inability to fight hand-to-hand.

NOTE: Every story has a villain, so I'm here to fill that role. She is from the Undertale fandom if this seems too much like an OC(It is my OC and is surprisingly flexible in which RP's she can be in)

Ruby! *blushes* Sapphire also wears a floor-length gown with white, rounded, puffy sleeves, a navy top, and a blue skirt. The skirt of her dress has several frilly layers in several shades of blue which resemble an open geode. She also wears white elbow-length evening gloves. Sapphire has feet that are usually hidden by her dress. Her gemstone is in the palm of her right hand and has a triangular facet. Your turn, Sapphy.

Ruby has bright scarlet skin, adorable dark red eyes and dark burgundy hair. She is slightly taller than Steven and has a thick body build, since she was made to be my guard gem. She wears a maroon tank top and a matching colored headband around her thick and fluffy, outgrown hair cropped at the neck. Hey! Her ensemble includes mid-thigh burgundy shorts, and short, pointed maroon boots similar to Amethyst's. Her gemstone is located in the palm of her left hand and has a square facet.

Personality

Sapphire is very compassionate, fair and level-headed as well as patient. She balances out my much more impulsive personality when we are fused as Garnet. She is shown to be quick to understand a puzzle or situation, as she came to the conclusion of Steven's immunity to the energy field almost immediately. Sapphire usually appears cold and distant to others, a trait that is sometimes reflected in Garnet. This is because she possesses precognition and can see the resolution of events before they have happened. But it's just that she wants to do what she believes is right, which is to face problems by acting as though they have already been resolved, as she sees them in the future. Because of this, she has trouble letting out her emotions in the present, because she already sees the futures where these emotions have been resolved, opposite to me, who lives in the moment and is more open about her emotions. Sapphire's blasé attitude to the present can make her appear somewhat passive-aggressive as well. But between me and Sapphire, she is also shown to be more social, willing to start a conversation with me about her thoughts about the earth whne we first met. When in a confusing and distressing situation, she lets out more emotion contrasted to me, as Garnet's left eye begins crying. During our humans vs. rubies baseball match, my sweet Sapphy is shown to have a more violent side to her. When the leader of the Rubies threw the baseball hard, she managed to hit it by freezing the bat, while screaming with determination. She also shows a light flirty side around me that distracts her from the baseball game.

Ruby mainly embodies Garnet's strength and courage, while I embody Garnet's cool nature and calm under pressure. Ruby is extremely passionate and emotional. She is known to have a short temper and violent ways of exhibiting her anger; this is best seen when we stayed at the Keystone Motel, when she was infuriated to the point of using her thermokinesis and boiled the motel pool, even summoning her weapon at The Best Diner in the World. Hey! You froze the whole room. Ruby, we're not talking about me now *small smirk*.Despite her wild emotions, Ruby is still very willing to admit when she has taken her anger too far and will admit when she is in the wrong. She seems to put my welfare above all else, doing everything to find me and immediately made sure that I was well when we were in Peridot's hand ship. When not angry, Ruby is romantic, soft with words, and quite flirtatious. When she channels her emotion on love rather than on rage, she can be affectionate and extremely caring, feeling the need to protect, and even cool down for those whom she truly loves. These moments of calm also bring out the playful tease inside her, which is for the most part trapped under her wild emotions. Ruby also places much value in trust and fusion, being absolutely outraged with Pearl when she learned she was tricked into fusing into Sardonyx. She appears to be a bad conversationalist, occasionally speaking in somewhat unintelligible mumbles, a trait which she carries onto Garnet. Before the baseball game, Ruby was more calm and collected in terms of her anger than she had been in the past, but she seemed to get really nervous when she didn't know what to do. She was also shown bad at lying under pressure, giving the Rubies the idea to search the barn.

Ruby I'll do the next part okay?
But they didn't ask it ye- oh right future vision. *nods*

Backstory

Over 5,750 years ago, I lived on Homeworld, as an aristocratic Gem and was a part of Blue Diamond's court. I was part of the diplomatic team sent to stop Rose's Rebellion on Earth, along with 3 Rubies assigned to guard me. I saw a future where the rebels Rose Quartz and Pearl were indeed caught and stopped; however, seven Gems, including myself, would be poofed in the process.

Just as I had finished reporting my sight to Blue Diamond, Rose Quartz and Pearl attacked, just like I had predicted, they had destroyed the physical forms of six Gems, including two of my Ruby guards. However, before I was attacked, my remaining Ruby jumped forward and pushed me out of the way of Pearl's sword, accidentally fusing with me and forming Garnet for the first time. This first ever fusion of two different Gem types caused an uproar among the other Gems, during which Rose and Pearl escaped. Blue Diamond was not pleased, and threatened to shatter Ruby for fusing with me and changing my prophecy. However, I couldn't allow that so I grabbed Ruby by the hand and ran off the edge of the Cloud Arena, floating down to Earth below. I was "frozen" because my future vision was wrong for the first time due to Ruby's impulsive nature. We found shelter in a cave, where I revealed her eye to Ruby and we talked about our feelings when we were Garnet.

Ruby and I grew closer and eventually decided to fuse again. Garnet was found by Pearl and Rose shortly after forming. Upon being met with acceptance and not revulsion, we began to bombard Rose with questions about the events and circumstances that allowed us to become Garnet, as well as our own feelings about existing as a fusion. Rose told us to "never question this," and said that we were already the answer to all her questions—love. This would be the beginning of our existence as Garnet for the next thousand years, fighting Homeworld with the Crystal Gems to protect Earth.
Yup, that's basically it. Good job Sapphy.

Powers

  • Like all other Gems, Ruby can change shape, invoke a weapon, take refuge in her gemstone to heal, and adapt to any extraterrestrial environment's gravity. Ruby seems to possess greater strength than most Gems, as she was able to shake the walls of her prison with a single punch, lift me with little effort in Peridot's ship, and flip a diner booth table with relative ease in Keystone Motel. Like all Gems, Ruby can fuse with other Gems.
  • Gauntlet Proficiency: Through sheer anger and feeling the need to release it through violence, Ruby can summon a gauntlet like Garnet's. Ruby possesses knowledge of how to use it.

  • Thermokinesis: Ruby can increase the temperature and generate heat. This is shown in Keystone Motel when her body gets so hot that it begins burning the carpet of the motel room, and when she boils the pool to nothing but steam in a very short amount of time. It is shown to be related to Ruby's emotional state.

Pyrokinetic Touch: This ability allows Ruby to set fire to whatever she touches depending on how angry she is. Like the day we escaped the Cloud Arena where Ruby accidentally sets fire to the grass beneath her the minute she got upset.

[*]Heat Resistance: Ruby has not demonstrated this ability, but it was confirmed that the only reason Garnet can swim in lava is by Ruby.

  • Future Vision: Sapphire can see the future to some extent. Unlike Garnet, she is much more open with using this power; whereas Garnet only reveals future events to others when it is needed, she uses it to the point where she almost completely shuts out the events around her. According This ability is rare among Gems, enough so to place Sapphire in Blue Diamond's court. Unlike Garnet's future vision, however, Sapphire appears to only see one future rather than multiple futures, such as when she could not see the future where I saved her physical form from being destroyed by Pearl.
  • Cryokinesis: Sapphire can drastically lower the temperature of her surroundings, even forming ice on the walls and freezing water. Sapphire is also able to freeze objects into solid ice, as seen in our baseball game when she freezes a bat. This ability contrasts to my ability to raise the temperature.
  • Levitation: Sapphire can hover in the air at will when she hovers onto the bed in Keystone Motel and when she can land herself and Ruby gently onto the ground when we escaped the Cloud Arena.
  • Enhanced Speed: Sapphire has proven to be able to travel great distances in a short time, possibly due to floating and not walking on legs, an ability that is not yet seen in any other Gem.

Appearance

Well you see...Sapphire has blue skin and pale blue, wavy hair with bangs that cover the top half of her face. She is slightly taller than me. Her lips and facial structure is resembled in Garnet. Aww, thanks :)

Also I'm not great at coding. I can't even do accordions or slides, because they always mess up. So I just stick to backgrounds, borders, fonts and imagefloats.

Personality:

Initially, Peridot was shown to be morose, ruthless, and biased. She is skilled with Gem technology and works for the Homeworld Gems as a technician and takes her work seriously, crushing one of her Robonoids underfoot when it was damaged and useless to her in her first appearance during Warp Tour. In Marble Madness, she briefly interacts with Steven, questioning him about the current state of Earth before losing interest and attempting to crush him. When the Crystal Gems intervene and reveal themselves, Peridot is shocked and flustered. Peridot also seems to be a bit stubborn. This is shown when she realizes that the Crystal Gems were the ones that have been destroying her equipment, she quickly loses her temper and asks "Why do you keep destroying my things?!".

Peridot has been shown to be incredibly stubborn, as it takes several attempts from the Crystal Gems for Peridot to discuss even the Cluster. Often when working, Peridot insists things be done her way and despises compromising. When she does cooperate, it typically takes some persuasion from Steven. She also continues to keep her log, despite the task being a moot point, more or less for a sense of normalcy. She also is vocal and honest about her viewpoints and will bluntly state what is on her mind regardless of the audience. Her statements have put her in harms way on several occasions, whether by the Crystal Gems or her Homeworld superiors. She does take responsibility for what she says and has learned how to keep some of her more offensive opinions to herself. Her recent behavior around the Crystal Gems has shown that she has opened herself up to new ideas and beliefs.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/image.gif.911ed537bfcc885429586dbf5f4b125d.gif" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="132205" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/image.gif.911ed537bfcc885429586dbf5f4b125d.gif" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Peridot is extremely self-absorbed, which leads her to continually underestimate the Gems. Even after defecting to aid the Crystal Gems, she thinks mainly of her needs. Many of her childlike behaviors, particularly her temper and arrogance, stem from her over-inflated ego. This is not to say Peridot is incapable of putting others above herself; she is just not used to having others who are willing to do the same for her. The same behavior extends to her admitting something personal. As she spends more time on Earth, Peridot has started developing a more gracious and compassionate attitude.

Peridot prioritizes logic, reason, and objectivity above emotions, while also displaying natural curiosity and a great desire to learn and understand. She is great at problem-solving as she uses her observations and experiments to make a conclusion, though her experiments are sometimes ill-conceived. Peridot feels that a practical and systematic approach is the correct way to do things while thinking the Crystal Gems are insane for relying on their emotions, particularly when they chose to relax despite imminent danger. Her logical mind tends to put Peridot at odds with the rest of the Gems and has caused her difficulty with communicating. Peridot's reasoning abilties led her to contact Yellow Diamond in an attempt to persuade her to protect the Earth but ultimately decided to betray Homeworld. When a cause is important to her, Peridot can be just as emotionally charged as the rest of the Crystal Gems.

Peridot has been shown, repeatedly, to be somewhat underhanded in dealing with the issues that arise around her. Rather than deal with the Crystal Gems head-on, Peridot typically dealt with them with various traps or simply running away. Peridot has even gone as far kidnapping Steven in order to fix the Homeworld Warp. Her deceptive tendencies have not gone away during her time with the Crystal Gems, as she smuggled a Diamond Communicator of the Moon in an attempt to spare the Earth, and disregarded Pearl's wishes for there not to be a blaster on the cluster drill. Despite being incredibly shifty actions on her part, Peridot's intentions were well meaning and ultimately done to help. Since "Gem Drill", Peridot has displayed solid loyalty to the Gems. In addition, she has become a bit more open and clear about her feelings since becoming a Crystal Gem in "Message Received".

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/image.gif.c7e6602f0e8480537692efee5a953695.gif" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="132206" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2016_06/image.gif.c7e6602f0e8480537692efee5a953695.gif" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Back story:

Do I need to explain! You guys already know enough about me! Fine.

I was sent to Earth by Yellow Diamond to check on the Cluster's state. The Gems interfered and kept ruining everything! They got rid of my limb enhancers, and they bubbled me! Luckily one of them was nice enough to be my "friend". That one was Steven, he's really cool. My guardian, Jasper, is now presumed dead and now I'm part of the Crystal Gems, I'm obviously the smartest one there revealing how the Cluster works and we saved the planet! I'm glad to be with them, but sometimes they get on my nerves. That's basically my story. Is there anything ELSE you need from me!?

Powers/Weapons:

I possess the traits of normal gems, like the ability to retreat into my gemstone to heal, shapeshifting, Garnet can explain that. I have yet to discover my weapon and I hope to do so soon, I COULD fight if the gems didn't destroy my limb enhancers but they did and I'm defenseless for the time being.

Garnet, Steven, Gems, please help me summon my weapon so I don't die!

Species:

What do you mean? I'm Human

Nationality:

I'm an American from California

Appearance:

I am a short 13-year old girl, exactly one millimeter taller than my twin brother, Dipper. I have round blushing cheeks, long brown hair that reaches my hips, my eyes are the same brown as Dipper's, and I still have silver-colored braces. My signature outfit is a short-sleeved pink undershirt underneath a red sweater with a rainbow shooting star falling toward the left, a matching red headband, purple skirt, and black slipper shoes with white socks. For my nightwear, I have a purple long-sleeve shirtdress with a floppy disk in the middle, matching purple headband, and dark pink socks. My swimsuit is a red one-piece swimsuit with a red star in the middle, and matching red headband. But I'm trying a new style.

Personality:

I am an optimistic, fun, and energetic girl full of spirit. I am an optimist who skips through life with a braces-filled smile and an assortment of extremely colorful knit sweaters. It is my outgoing personality and fearless curiosity that comes in handy when Dipper needs help solving a mystery, even if I'm not always aware of my silliness. Despite my cuteness, beauty, cheerful attitude and her ability to be able to look on the bright side, I can occasionally get my feelings hurt, especially by my rival Pacifica Northwest. I avoid lying and am a terrible liar myself, often blurting out whatever it is about which I is trying to lie about. Still, despite all the weirdness in Gravity Falls, I am always a "glass-half-full" kind of girl. I'm rarely angry or upset, and generally keeps a positive outlook. I am somewhat naive at times. I am aware of my charm, and cherishes my cuteness and beauty. Like my brother, I have the best of intentions and I will always try to choose the right options for the my happiness and others.

Backstory:

I was born on August 31, five minutes before my twin brother, Dipper. My first word was "unicorn." I have shown a "natural gift" for art since I was two years old. Since the age of three, I have celebrated Halloween in Piedmont with my twin brother, Dipper. At age nine, I won a mini-golf tournament. Sometime during the month of June, me and my twin brother, Dipper, were sent from Piedmont, California to the small, sleepy town of Gravity Falls, Oregon to visit our great uncle, Grunkle Stan. I believed that it was my "chance to have an epic summer romance". Boy was I wrong, thing is me and Dipper are back this summer.

Alright, so I can't help myself, god. Hold possibly for Dipper as well? Fuck it, I'm doing both kids. I was going to wait, but nah, nope, instead here we are.

@CelestialBunny I blame you for this
