TheGalactic Civil war has taken a turn for the worst. Darth Vader has been murdered, and replaced by his apprentice, Darth Starkiller. Jedi Luke Skywalker has also been killed at the hands of Darth Starkiller, and the Rebel Alliance is on the brink of defeat.
