Jon woke up long enough to move upstairs to bed where he found max and lay next to her slipping his arms around her tightly. “I love you.” He mumbled and fell asleep again.

Carmen shook her head and pushed him off. “Not tonight baby. I’m not feeling great tonight. But tomorrow hopefully.L she murmured and curled in close next to him, kissing his cheek.

Max smilrd softly and cuddled up close to him "I love you too." She whispered before she passed out with him.

Charlie pouted some "Okay fine, I guess I can wait till tomorrow." He joked giving a cheeky grin before he cuddled up with her and started to fall asleep

Carmen woke up in the morning with a migraine, texting in to work that she would try to make it in later on but she would need the morning off, “Charlie? Charlie?” She called our hoping he could get her pain meds for her but the house was empty and he found a note on the side hat he was meeting his dad for breakfast as well and she just got out of bed carefully making her way over to the bathroom and tried to pull open the cabinet but her legs gave way underneath her and she blacked out collapsing on the bathroom floor.

His dad was sat outside with him in front of the bob Evans and smoking with him and watching as Charlie was sitting with a beer in his hand already half empty. After their heart to heart yesterday and him pushing Charlie on how Carmen was doing it had finally been the straw that broke the camels back and he’d taken him to liquor store and bought him a case of beer. “I was thinking by the way... that I might stay in town and start up the store again.” He told him.

Jon woke up and kissed her softly. “I love you.” He murmured and held her close laying there quietly after that just tryna think about how today was gonna go hoping this would change how the investigation was going.

Max smiled softly as she woke up and kissed him gently "Morning handsome, I love you too." She said softly cupping his cheek gently as she stared at him taking in all his features "Just as handsome as when we were teens." She told him before she gave a small laugh

Charlie sipped his beer and nodded a bit "Oh really? Why now?" He asked raising an eyebrow before he took a drag from his cigarette. He had finally given in after his dad promised him just one drink. He thought what could one hurt? Now he was half way through the six pack and still not thinking how easy it was for his dad to manipulate him, he thought this was him showing he can be strong still with only a little alcohol and smokes here and there.

he smiled some while he watched her and pecked her cheek then curled up and held her close to him, “I love you. Very very much.” He murmured nuzzling his face into her neck.

He frowned some. “Your mom has been gone a long time now Charlie. It’s time I wasn’t so scared of this town anymore.” He told him quietly.

Max gave a soft smile and let her hands fall to his body smiling wider when she saw the 'Little Bird' tattoo across his heart "You still have it." She whispered tracing her finger over it.

Charlie nodded some frowning at the mention of his mother "I miss her." He murmured letting out a heavy sigh as he finished the beer he was drinking

He frowned some and nodded. “I should take you home. Let you and carmen get on on your day off. Dinner is still my treat tonight.” He smiled and took him to the car getting in and driving him back home waving at him on the porch before driving off to the motel he was staying in.

He smiled and kissed her head. “Couldn’t ever get rid of that. I need to get going but this bed is so cosy with you.” He grumbled a little.

Max smiled softly and kissed him lovingly "Mmm I wish I could stay in here with you too." She said softly ruffling his hair a bit "I love you Jon."

Charlie nodded sone and went inside. He quickly went to the bathroom to take a shower and brush his teeth. He didn't want to tell Carmen about him drinking yet.

The dogs were straight on him when he got in and the Bernese was running over to him then running back up to the bathroom then back to him then the bathroom barking at him until he finally got the message to follow and he went and lay next to carmen protectively barking at him again.

He smiled tiredly and kissed her cheek. “Mmm you’re very tempting. I’ve gotta go though beautiful. Sorry.” He murmured kissing her again then got up and threw clothes on and left to go down to the station.

Charlie frowned and followed the dogs going wide eyed as he found Carmen. He rushed over and placed her head in his lap "Oh god Carmen....I'm so sorry." He whimpered feeling this was his fault for not being there. He quickly called 911 hoping she would be okay.

Max watched him and gave a soft smile "Ive got a few morning classes today, maybe we coukd do lunch?" She asked as she walked him to the door

She came to a little bit and groaned hearing Charlie’s voice just shutting her eyes again against the bright lights in the bathroom, passing out again shortly after, not waking up for another couple hours at the hospital and looked over seeing Charlie in the chair. “Hey... what’s going on?” She asked quietly.

He smiled tiredly. “You can bring something to the station. The deli sounds good. Couple sandwiches bags of chips and a soda each?” He smiled and kissed her cheek tiredly then left quietly to go to the station.

Max nodded softly and gave a soft smile "Sounds good." She murmured before she let him leave

Charlie looked at her worried sick taking her hand in his "Carmen? Oh god you scared me." He murmured

She smiled tiredly and gave his hand a gentle squeeze. “You showered.” She mumbled seeing his hair was wet and he was definitely wearing different clothes to earlier. “I woke up with migraine... couldn’t find my pain meds.... I got up to get some and I think.... I think I got the cupboard open ... but then it all goes blank.” She mumbled.

Jon was at work for twenty minutes before the fbi guys showed up and he got Tom to go bring them through to the office so they could all have a talk.

The FBI agent sat in Jon's office frowning some "Sheriff from what we've read through on these files you've got a serial killer on your hands." He explained

Charlie nodded some sighing heavily "Yeah you fell and blacked out, the doctor hasn't come in to talk to us yet." He whispered letting a few tears fall.

She frowned some and watched him a little. “Why are you crying Charlie? I’m okay.” She mumbled gently trying to pull him to sit with her.

Jon just nodded and frowned some. “I know. I figured that after the third murder. Listen we’re a fairly small town. Stuff like this doesn’t happen much round here.” He muttered and let them mostly take over the office to get things spread out so they could get to working on this case.

Charlie nodded some and wiped his eyes "Just scared me is all." He whispered kissing her hand gently and moving so he could lay with her.

Max came around at lunch time with sandwiches frowning some as she saw the place looking over run with men in suits. She went to the receptionist and asked for Jon hoping he was in and not out on the job.

Jon moves over next to her and kissed her cheek. “Toms office. Mines not usable.” He mumbled taking her in there. “We got half an hour.” He told her as he grabbed his food and started eating quickly. “How’s your morning been?” He asked looking stressed while Tom sat on his computer working on his transfer papers.

Carmen smiled tiredly. “I love you.” She murmured pulling him in close. “They might let me go today. I don’t think it’s anything serious. Just a momentary lapse in judgement on my part. Probably would have been okay if I’d stayed in bed.”

Max gave a soft smile as she ate with him "Its been good, the kids are learning so fast." She said happily not really paying attention to Tom at the moment.

Charlie nodded some "Good, I just want you home and out of here." He murmured stroking her cheek gently

Jon just nodded quickly and smiled some but looked out the door when the agents who were taking the case into their own hands popped their head in to tell him it was time to head out to go talk to the first suspect and he nodded quickly pecking her cheek and leaving his food there, rushing out the door.

Carmen smiled tiredly at him and kissed his cheek. “Mmm you smell funny. Did you get a new body wash?” She mumbled tiredly just holding onto him.

Max frowned softly and wrapped up his lunch quietly before she looked over at Tom. "I heard you were planning on transferring, why?" She asked quietly

Charlie frowned softly "No must just be smelling odd." He mumbled trying to play it off hoping she wasn't smelling the cigarettes or alcohol.

He frowned some and stretched out. “I think it’s the best thing for everyone. I can’t watch her and Charlie be happy every day when I know I threw that away. I miss her yknow.... but I know that it’s my fault.” He muttered. “I’m gonna be here for another year though first.” He told her quietly then got up to go pick up what he’d printed.

Lana got home that night at about 6pm from school giving max a detention note. “Where Uncle Jon. He said he was on his way home.... two hours ago she mumbled frowning, “his cars out front too.” She told her but his gun holster wasn’t hanging and his shoes weren’t by the door.

Carmen frowned but nodded. “Can you go find out if I can go home yet or not?” She mumbled holding onto him though and not making a move to let go of him.

Max frowned more and noticed his shoes gone "Thats odd,he was here before I went to the store." She murmured trying to call him but got no responce "Okay I'm going to call the station alright?" She murmured calling the station to see if they knew anything.

Charlie chuckled softly and kissed her cheek "You gotta let me go if you want me to ask them." He murmured holding her close to him as well.

Lana frowned but nodded and went to see the dogs giving them lots of attention and taking them out the back for a couple minutes until she heard a cell phone ringing, going to see what it was and screamed at the top of her lungs when she found jons cell next to a pool of blood. “Max!” She screeched.

Carmen giggled a little and kissed his cheek. “I love you.” She murmured then let him get up to go find out. “Hey!” She called before he was completely out the door. “Nice ass.” She winked at him.

Max heard Lana and quickly ran out going wide eyed "Go inside now, go to your room and lock the door." She said before rushing inside and grabbing a kitchen knife while she checked the entire house only to find it empty. Quickly she called Tom thinking he could get there the fastest and would be the most help

Charlie laughed and shook his head some before sending her a wink. He went to the doctors and asked about when she could leave thanking them when they said in about an hour.

Tom frowned as he answered about to ask what was going on but he heard how panicky max was and got out of bed again. “Alright. Alright. I’m coming over. I’ll call the agents as well. Don’t touch anything and get back inside the house now.” He muttered and hung up then called up the lead agent on the case giving him the address.

Her nurse passed him a couple pills to give to her as well to surprise another migraine before it started. “With some water. Swallow them one at a time.” She smiled at him then turned around to check her computer, turning once more only to see him toss a sober chip into the trash, heading over and frowning some as she watched him walk off, reaching into her pocket to grab her phone and text Marie to let her know.
