Max frowned and nodded softly going up to bed with him crying softly. She woke up in the morning and smiled gently seeing Jon sleeping right beside her in his night shirt and basketball shorts. She sighed happily and cuddled up close to him just trying to cherish the moment.

Charlie smiled happily as he heard his dad say how he was getting clean as well and would be in town "Thats great to hear, yeah we can do that." He said happily looking at Carmen and mouthing his dad when she asked who it was. He hung up shortly after that and went over to her spinning her around "Goodmorning gorgeous!"

Carmen crossed her arms over her chest chewing on her lip some when he set her down. “What did your dad want?” She asked him quietly and frowned, trying to be gentle on the subject.

Jon stayed asleep but soon started frowning and grunting a little eventually yelling out and calling out for help before settling again but continued shifting around and soon was yelling again in his sleep.

Max frowned and sat up watching him to make sure he was okay. She didn't want to wake him just in case but she did listen to him and held him close to her until he finally seemed to have calmed down a bit.

Charlie gave another smile and kissed her forehead "Said he would be stopping through town. He got clean Carmen, and he just wanted to have some dinner with me before he left. He is only going to be in for a few days." He explained tp her hoping she would be okay with it.

She frowned some and just nodded. “I can’t twll you what to do except be careful please. I don’t trust him with you. He’s most of the reason you got hooked in the first place.” She muttered. He always relapsed when his dad was around. Every time without fail.

He eventually woke up and just lay there staring at the wall until he had to get up and he looked over at max kissing her cheek then went to take a shower.

Max gave a soft sigh as he got up. She had no clue what he was gping through but she knew she wanted to be there for him and help him in anyway she could. She got up and followed knocking on the bathroom door and walking in "Jon? Are you alright?" She asked hoping she didn't spook him


Charlie gave a small sigh but nodded "I will be babe I promise. If you want you can come too." He said hopeful she might say yes. He knew if she was there he would stay strong without a doubt

“I uh.... I’ll be out in a bit okay?” He mumbled and looked over at her while he stood under the hot water. “I’m okay though.” He murmured and smiled some weakly at her.

“No. Absolutely not. Are you crazy Charlie?! He was the one who gave us the stuff we overdosed on!” She snapped at him. “Every time that ass comes back into your life something goes wrong. Do you not see that pattern?!” She snapped at him, terrified of losing him to that world again.

Max just kept her eyes on his face through the glass shower door as it fogged up "Alright, I'll make us something to eat." She said sweetly before she closed the bathroom door and went downstairs to start breakfast

Charlie frowned some and gave a heavy sigh nodding a bit "I know....but Carmen he has no one else and...I can tell if he isn't clean and if he isn't then I'll leave okay?" He said trying to assure her

She frowned and inhaled sharply. “Fine. Whatever. Do what you like.” She muttered and walked off annoyed to go get ready for work.

He nodded and stood there for a while longer before finally cleaning up and wandered downstairs once he was in uniform. “I gotta go in babe.... another body.... I might not be back until late. If you feel at all unsafe about Michael or anything you call me okay?” He murmured and pecked her cheek, rushing out the door.

Max frowned softly thankful she had only made one egg at the moment "Okay, no worries I promise." She murmured kissing him gently before he left.

Charlie sighed heavily and kissed her cheek before he went to make himself a cup of coffee

Carmen came back downstairs and sighed heavily, slipping her arms around him carefully. “I love you.... and you know that my frustration about this... is because of that. I want to keep you safe.” She murmured and kissed his cheek holding him close.

His mom arrived shortly after he had left to drop Lana off and she waved bye from the porch as she walked in saying hi to the dogs but jumped out of her skin and screamed at the top of her lungs when she saw max walk out of the kitchen. “Jesus! Damn it Uncle Jon!” She yelled and started laughing. “Aren’t you supposed to be on a honeymoon?” She asked max and giggled.

Charlie nodded softly and kissed her gently "I love you too Carmen, more than anything in this world." He whispered looking at her and stroking some hair from her face "I'll be okay I promise."

Max jumped as well going wide eyed as she saw Lana "Lana! I didn't know you were coming so soon!" She said taking a deep breath trying to get her heart rate down "Well um...its a very long story and you better watch that tongue young lady." She said giving a small smirk before she went over and hugged her tight "How are you doing?"

She just frowned but nodded a little and kissed his cheek before grabbing her bag and heading out the door to go to work.

She rolled her eyes a little. “Grandma wanted me to come home today cause I gotta watch the dogs and she doesn’t like them.” She told her “I told him this would work.” She told max then wandered off to go look after the dogs

Max gave a small laugh and sat down with the dogs cuddling into her "Are you hungry? I can make you something." She said as Lana came and sat down across from her.

Charlie smiled softly and waved goodbye before he took care of the dogs before he had to go to work.

His dad showed up at the diner that afternoon and walked in grinning as he watched his son come up to take his order and take a moment before realising who it was. “Hey sport thought I would surprise ya.” He grinned.

Jon got home to the smell of popcorn and a girls movie on tv with max and Lana next to waxh other. “Hey.... I see you two have gotten cosy.” He smiled exhaustedly

Max gave a small smile and nodded happily "Yeah we had a nice girls day." She said happily before she got up and went over to him "How was your day?"

Charlie went to take his table's order going a bit wide eyed seeing his dad but gave a big smile "Hey dad, how are you?" He asked looking him over frowning softly seeing he looked like he was high

Carmen got home later that evening after having been cleaning up the booking system at work and frowned, hearing the voices inside the house. At first she was worried but that soon gave way to her being angry when she walked in and saw Charlie sat with his dad. “What the hell do you think you’re doing in my house?!” She snapped at him then glared at Charlie. “A word. Now.” She muttered heading to the kitchen.

Jon sighed heavily but nodded and sat with them pulling max in close “long day. We uh... were going to start having an fbi unit in town from tomorrow afternoon. Lana I would like you to get the bus to the station after school tomorrow. Not here. Just til this guy is in custody.” He told her looking completely worn out.

Charlie joked around with his dad sipping at his water and holding onto his chip tightly. He looked to Carmen frowning some when he saw how mad she was. He had completely lost track of the time and had forgotten she would be home soon. "Carmen, I lost track of time..." he said trying to reason with her once he got into the kitchen

Max frowned softly and watched as Lana nodded some "We'll make this work." She said trying to stay positive for him knowing once he got worried it could spiral out of control if someone didn't keep him on course

Jon just nodded and kissed her head. “He’s not going after girls or women at all but I would rather know you were safe is all.” He told her quietly. “What are you watching?” He asked unbuttoning his shirt a little and untucking it from his trousers.

Carmen grit her teeth watching him try to explain. “Not in my house Charlie. With me here or not. I told you it’s up to you about spending time with him I’m not gonna tell you what you can and can’t do with that but I don’t want to see that man at or in my house ever again!” She snapped without raising her voice. “Go on, go somewhere else with him. I know you wanna spend time with him baby I get it so I’m not gonna make you kick him out. I’ll leave the lights on til you get home.l she murmured kissing his cheek and grabbed a soda to take upstairs.

Max nodded softly and pecked his cheek smiling a bit as she looked at the TV "She's The Man!" She said happily laughing as he rolled his eyes a bit "Oh hush hush its near the end." She murmured before cuddling up close to him

Charlie sighed heavily and nodded before he took a deep breath. "Hey man how about we do dinner tomorrow; that okay with you?" He asked as he went to the living room to see his dad.

His dad looked up and nodded smiling some. “Sure that sounds good. Hey sorry if i upset her. I just assumed she was okay with me since it was all so long ago but it’s okay I completely understand.” He told him and stood up giving his son a hug. “You got my number, text me and let me know what place and time. My treat.” He smiled at him as they walked to the door.

Jon shook his head some resting it back and held her close. “We used to love this movie. I think carmen used to quote it the whole time we watched. You remember those days?” He mumbled tiredly, starting to talk to her about something but it became inaudible and within a couple minutes he was snoring next to her.

Charlie smiled some and walked his dad out "Yeah no problem." He said before closing the door and going up to Carmen "I sent him off, I promise he won't come here again." He said as he layed down next to her.

Max giggled softly at the memories and nodded some. She laughed lightly when she saw him asleep next to her glancing at Lana "I hope you know your uncle is the loudest snorer I've ever met." She said laughing again as she moved to sit next to Lana.

Lana smiled some. “It’s not the snoring you have to worry about. It’s the nightmares.” She mumbled sighing a little and shaking her head, getting up and going to get a snack.

She nodded and pulled him in close. “I love you. Thank you.” She murmured and kissed him gently.

Max nodded softly and followed Lana to the kitchen "Are those nightly?" She asked wanting to know more about Jon now, she was worried about him and the nightmare he had this morning had really spooked her.

Charlie kissed her back giving a soft smile "I love you too." He whispered before he pulled her close to him "I missed you by the way."

Carmen kisses his cheek and smiled, holding him close. “Oh yeah? Well you’ll have to show me tomorrow how much.” She murmured pecking his cheek and curling in close.

She shrugged a little and looked over at her. “Most nights. When me and my mom lived with him for a while they were worse. But she always said he had them when work was bad.” She told her and got some ice cream out.

Max gave a small nod and frowmed a bit "Oh. I see well lets just hope they don't get too bad huh?" She said softly before she got herself something to drink.

Charlie smiled some and gave a small smirk "Well how about I show you right now?" He said pulling her to lay ontop of him.
