"Of course you can!"

Aiko responded with a small smile, conveying a slight look of amusement on her pale face. She'd been given nicknames in the past, but 'Ai' was a first. She quite liked it, in fact.

It's better than Percy's nickname for me... I don't think calling someone 'Grams' because of their abnormally white hair is appropriate.

She began chuckling softly at the thought, shaking her head. Aiko swiveled her cloudy gaze to look at Chloe, who asked why she didn't have a partner during her first year in the EAT class; a question she had been asked many times, even by her own partner, Elam. It seemed he wasn't the only one curious about the topic.

With a soft exhale, Aiko smiled, staring ahead towards the end of the hallway in front of them.

"Well, in all honesty, I didn't have time for one. I was heavily invested in my martial arts training, and I trained every morning and every afternoon for the entirety of my first year. Back then, it wasn't a requirement for an E.A.T student to have a partner, so I decided to spend my first year partnerless. I had been asked many times to be someone's partner, but I was never interested or simply wasn't compatible with anyone, so I always declined. But, this year turned out differently..."

A warm smile spread across her lips at the thought of Elam and his modest, yet nervous nature. He was confusing at times, but slowly, Aiko was beginning to understand him more and more.

By the time the two could converse any more with each other, the infirmary was already just a few feet away, with Aiko's father waiting patiently by the door on his office chair. Upon seeing the two girls, Riku smiled mischievously, propping his feet up against the wall in preparation for launching himself away.

"Have fun, girls. I have a class to teach, so I'll see you kids later." He threw up a peace sign and propelled himself down the hall once more, disappearing in seconds around the corner. Aiko chuckled slightly, never really understanding her father and the meaning of that office chair of his.

With an outstretched hand, she gripped the door handle, flashing Chloe a reassuring look before completely pushing it open. When she stepped inside, Aiko was surprised to find it empty, with no Dr. Stein in sight. She wandered into the middle of the room, glancing around in confusion. It was oddly silent.

"Dr. Stein? Are you here?" Aiko called out softly.

The squeaking of an office chair could be heard somewhere in the room, along with the clicking of heels clapping against the hard floor.

"I'm afraid Dr. Stein is not here today."

An unfamiliar woman's voice began to say, before pausing. The infirmary curtains blocking off a certain section of the room were suddenly drawn back, revealing a figure drenched in shadows. With a few small steps, the woman revealed herself completely, standing in front of the two girls. Her hair was a pale, ashy blonde that was cut short into a bob, exaggerating the sharpness of her chin and defined jawline. And her eyes... they were redder than blood, like Aiko's mother and father's, except they held a certain harshness to them that she couldn't quite explain.

The woman smiled coyly, revealing a set of brilliant, white teeth.

"I'm filling in for him today. I was recently hired here a few days ago. Call me Nurse Nocturne." She introduced herself, a hand on her hip. Aiko could only stand there silently, surprised the DWMA would hire another nurse, especially after what happened with the last one. Yet, the name 'Nocturne' sounded strangely familiar. Had she met this woman before?

"I'm Aiko-"

"Yes, Aiko Takahashi and Chloe Branwen. I know of you two already." Nurse Nocturne interrupted suddenly, motioning towards the two beds sitting in the center of the room. She didn't seem to be a woman of patience, and Aiko was slightly taken back by it. But she did like her straightforwardness.

"Please, have a seat. I'll begin your check-ups in just a moment."

And with that, she disappeared behind the curtains, entering another room filled with medicine cabinets. Before the nurse completely vanished, Aiko caught a glimpse of a peculiar necklace around her neck that had a raven feather blacker than night dangling from the chain.

Just who is this woman?

Elam's eyes traced Aiko as she was called out for a checkup, hiding his worries and concerns behind a relaxed look. Did Dr. Stein think that there might have been some residual effect from his Soul Menace attack? Aiko had certainly seemed fine, and Elam was sure she had taken heavier blows, but he couldn't help but be concerned. Deciding to leave his concerns alone and hope that it was only routine, Elam settled back in, partially listening to the class and partially lost in thought.

His thoughts turned to the mission he and Aiko were being sent on. If the one Aiko had done previously was any indicator, there was a chance they might have to fight a monster of some kind, and Elam couldn't help but wonder if he was ready for a real fight. Am I even capable of using Soul Resonance? Do I even want to use it? Won't the exposure to my wavelength hurt Aiko like it did yesterday? The edge on my spearhead isn't even that sharp yet. As skilled as she might be there's always a chance she'd need to rely on me for something and my ineptitude is only going to get her killed. I can't risk putting her life in danger like that...

...Why am I so concerned about this girl? Elam couldn't help but wonder, trying to keep half his attention trained on class. Sure I think she's cute and all, but I've never once shown concern so openly. I've certainly never lost my cool like I did before class. There's gotta be something more. Luckily, he managed to hear a student ask a question about finding a partner, which the professor quickly answered.

Sakura said someone would simply know it when they've found their partner through an indescribable feeling. Elam had felt a wide range of emotions since meeting Aiko, but each one of them he could easily describe. Does this indescribable feeling make me nervous every time my partner walks by? Or is it what's giving me the desire to puke whenever I think of her in danger? If that's the case, it's a pretty nasty feeling if I do say so mys-

Elam was violently torn from his thoughts as Dante broke the sound barrier mere feet from the front row, blasting past him and causing papers to fly. Elam had partially fallen out of his seat, startled from the sudden noise, and he slowly righted himself, ears ringing. That was a Soul Resonance technique? There's certainly no way I'm breaking the sound barrier anytime soon. I wonder if Aiko has any tricks like that up her sleeve. The thought made him shudder from nervousness; Elam wasn't entirely positive he even knew where to begin with a Soul Resonance technique, let alone use one. Adjusting himself in his seat and determined to pay closer attention so that he wouldn't get caught off guard like that again, Elam could only hope that he would get lucky and not end up having to use Soul Resonance.

Santeru exhaled deeply he was exhausted from his latest assignment and wished to relax, he raised his hand and ran it through his hair before turning the corner. "It's as if Dad intends to keep me busy lately."

He reached into his pocket fumbling on his carton of cigarettes before grasping them, he opened the back excluding one cigarette and pulling it out with his teeth placing the carton back and fishing his zippo out of the same pocket flicking it open and hitting the flint he ignited and took a drag. Placing the lighter away he walked past the nurses office taking a glance inside and exhaling the smoke from his lungs.

Noticing the familiar student he stopped to process why it wasn't his father talking with her, Taking a moment to pause and sit against the doorway he continued to smoke attempting a casual act while eaves dropping. His eyes scanned the hall before closing them and focus at the task of listening to the conversation going on inside. "That nurse, I've never seen her before."

Santeru took another drag before entering the room curious at the unfolding events as he sat down next to Aiko. "Judging from the look on her face she's just as curious as I am." Being away for a bit it had been sometime before Santeru had last spoken or even seen Aiko as he was normally with his father upon their paths crossing he did not expect her to remember him. "Hello Fräulein." He smiled his normally dormant German accent surfacing, His expression was lighthearted and empathetic betraying the reputation that he was known for as an assassin.

He took yet another drag before letting it go in a direction away from her before turning back and letting it hang there.

(You can pretend you know he is Steins son as well as a teacher, You can also pretend to know he does the dirtier jobs for the DWMA, But I'm interested in what you will do and where this little Arc will progress :D @The Velveteen Rabbit )

Kurumi

Kurumi had many thoughts swarming through her head as class began. The Professor began to speak, and despite trying to keep her attention on class and the lecture, her mind drifted anyway. So much had happened in roughly twenty four hours, give or take, she hadn't exactly timed it. With Dante's gentle jokes about this morning, it brought up thoughts about what to do about... that. It would be a lie to say she didn't exactly like it but... of course it was out of the question to just openly allow it! Kurumi fumbled with her hands anxiously and somewhat self-consciously as if someone could simply pluck her thoughts from her head and begin to ridicule her.

It was when Dante was called to the front of the room that Kurumi was jarred from her thoughts. She looked up curiously as he faced the class. What was it they were talking about again...? Soul resonance, that's right. Dante was an EAT student, and intelligent, so it only made sense to Kurumi that he had been called to the front for some sort of demonstration.

What was supposed to be an educational lecture, however, turned into more things for Kurumi to worry and ponder over. Soul resonance was lovely and all but there was still a lot Kurumi didn't understand about the resonance Dante could accomplish and the resonance they would one day share. It was destructive? She remembered him mentioning so... but now it was a lot more black and white now. If it would injure him, why would he ever use it? If it does more harm than good, why does it exist? Kurumi was thinking so hard, a comical image of smoke spouting from her ears popped up in the sea of thoughts and made her crack a smile despite herself. Her eyes returned to front of the classroom and she watched Dante from her chair above.

Angel

Angel had instinctively taken one of the seats beside Connor. It felt most comfortable to her now so she decided to stay as close to Connor as was... okay. Angel still doubted she'd ever get all that close to anyone. She glanced over at him and noticed he seemed to be a bit anxious. Prior, it seemed her head was in the clouds, as it liked to be a lot of the time, and she hadn't all that information on the current situation. Of course it was obvious they were in class. Aside from that, what else was there?

Angel ripped a piece of people from her notebook and wrote out a message on the lined paper. She folded it neatly and slid it across the table towards Connor. It contents were neat and nicely written.

'Are you okay? You don't look so good.'

Although Dante's demonstration of Soul Resonance was quite impressive, Sakura wasn't affected much by the Sonic Boom, and managed to stand her ground and not move an inch. With a smile, the professor began clapping with approval, with the class soon joining her.

"Very impressive, Dante. Thank you." She told him, turning her attention towards the class, who looked quite bewildered after the demonstration. It caused a small smirk of amusement to cross her face.

"Does anyone have any questions for Dante?" Professor Sakura asked the class, scanning the room once more. She took a moment to glance at the clock hanging above the doorway, realizing there was only a few minutes of class left. It worried her slightly that Aiko and Chloe hadn't returned, but she pushed it away, and refocused her attention on the class in front of her.

@One Mean Ghost @Everyone in class

With nimble, quick hands, Nocturne searched through the cabinets for a specific medicine, a maniacal feeling growing inside her blackened heart. When she had finally found it, a dark smile formed across her face, gripping the clear bottle between her slender fingertips. She admired it for a few moments, before stepping away from the cabinet. Nocturne brought the bottle over to a clear glass of water and poured it in, watching the two invisible liquids mix. The dark smile remained, and she reached up, breaking off a single barb from the raven feather around her neck.

Hovering it above the glass of water, Nocturne quickly whispered the words:

"Corvus Pluma."

--and watched the tiny barb dissolve into the glass of water in a thin stream of black, before completely mixing in and vanishing. Unable to help it, Nocturne broke into a quiet fit of cackling.

"Such a fool Lord Death is, hiring a nurse without fully knowing who she is first." Nocturne whispered, spitting his name like venom. Her smile turned into a cheshire-like grin, spreading all the way to the corners of her cheeks.

"He'll find out soon enough, won't he?"

Aiko quietly sat on the plush bed inside the infirmary, looking down at her feet for a moment. The new nurse seemed to be taking her time and hadn't returned just yet. She heard the sound of the door opening, catching her attention, and she looked up to find Santeru standing right in front of her. Aiko looked rather surprised as he sat down next to her, but began smiling warmly nonetheless.

"Santeru! What brings you here?" She asked curiously. As Aiko said the words aloud, it caught the attention of Nurse Nocturne, who came back into the room with a glass of water in hand. She eyed Santeru for a moment, and walked over to a trey next to Chloe and set the glass down.

"I'm afraid your father isn't in today." The nurse informed him, a small smile on her face. It seemed she already knew who he was, and had talked with Dr. Stein in the past few days since she'd been hired.

CONNOR BRANWEN

Connor's attention was drawn to Angel's little note. He blinked at it a few times before quietly opening it and reading it. A small look of indifference flickered across his face before he sighed and started scribbling on the back of the note.

"Nothing much. Just worried about my dunce of a Sister. As usual." He wrote, adding a sighing smiley at the end of the note before silently sliding it over to Angel. He sighed and stared at his notes.
Am I.... just being paranoid...?

CHLOE BRANWEN

Chloe instantly felt better the moment she heard a female voice greet her and Aiko when they entered the infirmary. Oooh! A nurse instead of..... HIM. I'm feeling much, much better now. Chloe thought with a small grin, finding the nurse a little cool. She quietly sat next to Aiko and hummed to herself while waiting for the nurse to come back. Soon after, a young man entered the infirmary.

Oh wow.... He's cute... She thought to herself, scooting back slightly just as the nurse came back in. Chloe watched as she set down a glass of water on a tray nearby. I hope that's just water and not those medicines... They taste bad... She mentally groaned just as the nurse spoke about how Santeru's Father wasn't here. Wait... His dad.... The accent.... Not in today...?

"You're Dr Stein's kid?!" Chloe gasped loudly before wincing.

@Stamper @The Velveteen Rabbit @Santeru Ishumari

Santeru chuckled lightheartedly looking at Nurse Nocturne as he extinguished the cigarette into a nearby ash tray used by his father. "So I've noticed." His gaze scanned over both Aiko and Chloe as he shifted his weight to lean against the lab table. "It appears a week was to long for me to be away." He smirked putting a hand on the back of his neck grasping lightly as if it was sore.

The amused look remained in his eyes taking note of Chloe's outburst his gaze settled onto hers. "I'm more of his adoptive kid, but yes I am his son." The way he held himself was similar to Stein but there were obvious differences in appearance, the most obvious was he didn't have body modifications such as his father's signature screw and stitching.

Santeru quickly looked over to Aiko with a smirk "What brings me here? I recently returned from a mission and it appears most of my students are busy. So I thought I'd find my father and lend a hand in the infirmary but it appears he's not here. But I'd like to remain here and still help." His eyes for a moment show suspicion as he glanced at Nocturne for a moment and then back. "If that's okay with Madame Nocturne of course, However if Chloe and yourself need something just ask."

Damn it. How am I supposed to poison the other girl with him here?

Nocturne hid her hands behind her back, clenching them out of anger. Her teeth began to grind together as she tried to think of a devious plan to get rid of him. But nothing realistic came to mind, and she decided to let him stay. Despite the anger she felt, her face showed no trace of irritation, and instead, she smiled towards Santeru.

"Of course! I could always use some help. I was just about to give these two girls a check-up. Dr. Stein tells me you two got into a pretty nasty dilemma yesterday." Nocturne commented, arching an eyebrow out of curiosity and glancing at the two girls, as if to confirm this was true. Aiko sighed softly, a sheepish expression on her face.

"My partner lost control of his Soul Menace attack and it recoiled, hurting me and Chloe. It was partly my fault though. I sort of forced him to use it." She whispered while looking down at her feet. Nocturne listened quietly, eyeing her. Using Soul Perception for a quick moment, she could see that the girl's soul was hardly damaged. But Chloe's was. It peaked Nocturne's curiosity, and she reached over to grab the glass of water, remembering it was there.

"I see. Dr. Stein informed me about this yesterday. Since a Soul Menace attack is internal, it most likely did more damage inside then on the outside." She handed Aiko the glass, smiling slightly.

"It's an antibiotic. Dr. Stein said to prescribe it to both of you. It should begin healing any injuries you two have in a couple of days. It tastes rather sour, so I tried to ease away the bitterness by mixing water in." Nocturne explained to Aiko, who began drinking away until the glass was empty. A sinister feeling spread through Nocturne's heart as she witnessed the invisible poison slipping down Aiko's throat.

Pushing away the feeling and swiveling her gaze over to Santeru, the nurse motioned towards the medicine cabinets.

"Would you mind fixing one up for Chloe here? It's the green bottle in the far back."

Santeru's expression remained warm but his suspicion was eating away at him, being a killer himself his instincts said something was very wrong but he continued to move as he found his way in the back of the infirmary searching for this green bottle. "You don't quite add up Fräulein~" Santeru looked carefully, working with his father provided a great deal of medical knowledge.

Santeru's gaze fell upon the bottle he wrapped his fingers around the slender glass but something felt off. "Excuse me~" Santeru smirked with satisfaction as he slowly began to fall into this game. "Fräulein Nocturne exactly what medicine is this?" The look of a playful killer danced behind his innocence his expression conveyed the message that he was willing to speak with her.

(@The Velveteen Rabbit )

(Nocturne poisoned the drink with a barb from the feather on her necklace, not with the medicine^^)

"Fräulein Nocturne exactly what medicine is this?"

The nurse heard Santeru question behind her, grasping the green bottle between his fingertips and holding it up in the air. Nocturne looked genuinely confused, not knowing what he was getting at exactly. She approached the bottle, scanning the label on it and smiling towards him.

"It's an antibiotic, meant to heal internal injuries. Why? Is something wrong?" Nocturne asked quietly, a look of concern spreading across her sharp features. Aiko listened quietly from behind them, a bit confused.

@Santeru Ishumari

(I know it was to attract her attention to bring her over. My apologies for no elaboration 0.0)

Santeru's features relaxed as he gave a light smack to his forehead. "Yes of course!" He laughed at himself lightly as he set to work putting together the medicine she requested. "Now that she's here." Santeru's soul gave just a minor bit of killing intent in a small half meter radius as not to alert Chloe or Aiko. Giving a slight chuckle along with a very quite. "Oops~" He continued to work eagerly before finishing up he brought the vile behind a curtained off area just with in Nocturne's sight.

Not sure of himself he began to think it was paranoia from his last mission that was getting to his nerves but playing like this he found fun. "Who know's what I can learn." He stopped for a very quick moment grasping another vile of a separate antibiotic to assist in healing damage to the nervous system. His breathing lessened and nearly stopped as he remained quite feeling the gaze of Nocturne he waited for her reaction.

CHLOE BRANWEN

"O-oh.... I see... Adopted..." Chloe muttered to herself in embarresment as she twiddled her thumbs. A minor tic when she's feeling flustered. A small frown appeared on her face when she heard Nurse Nocturn explain the glass of water.

"Urgh.... I hate those things...." she said, pouting slightly as she watched Aiko down the contents of glass in disgust.
The best medicine is bitter.... I miss kiddy meds... Those were sweet.... And orange flavoured.... She thought wistfully as she watched Nocturn and Santeru discuss medicines. So much hostility... He's definately Dr Stein's kid... Adopted or not...

DR FRANKEN STEIN

Somewhere in Dr Stein's private lab, the good Doctor was busy looking up Nocturn's history for the 11th time. Even though they come up as clean as a sterile scalpel. He sighed and was in the process of lighting a fresh cigarette when he sneezed.

"Hm... Someone's thinking about me..." He mused to himself as ue adjusted his screw. "Oh well." He muttered as he stopped turning the screw with a click and kicked himself off the desk, sending him rolling down the hallway on his trusty wheeled chair. The ride was smooth before it hit the doorway, sending him tumbling onto the floor.

"..... Needs more adjustments..." He muttered as he got up and started re-adjusting his screw and walking back to his desk with the chair in tow.

(Wanted to brush up my Stein RPing so I added that last part for the comedy. :3)

Kurumi

When Sakura Sensei released the glass, Kurumi jumped up immediately and somewhat abruptly causing her to knock over her chair by accident. With an embarrassed chuckle, she looked around and quickly picked it up. Class was over... Right. What was next again? Was there another or something? She couldn't quite remember and figured she would find out when the time came. Instead, she decided to go down and greet Dante where he stood at the front of the room.

She walked over to him and stood in front of him with her mouth quirked to the side. Now that she thought of it, there were a few things she wanted to ask, or maybe inquire about, or just... discuss. Most of those things pertained to soul resonance and his wavelength but Kurumi found she couldn't put together a proper question let alone open her mouth to ask one. When she looked up at him, a smile spread across her face and she decided there was plenty of time for all that later. They've only just begun after all. It wasn't like they would meet an enemy too powerful tomorrow, right?

"You never fail to impress me," Kurumi said lightly with a warm smile, remarking about his presentation during class. He was so many wonderful and fascinating things, certainly a partner to be proud of. But Kurumi knew that already.

@One Mean Ghost

Angel

When Angel glanced back at the piece of paper she frowned and looked back over at Connor with a slightly worried expression. He seemed to worry a lot. Angel wished there was something she could do to help alleviate such stresses but since there wasn't exactly such a remedy at hand she stood and leaned against the desk.

"Well, I suppose we should go visit her then, huh?" Angel asked him with a gentle smile. Although she wouldn't openly admit it just yet with her standoffish attitude towards people, it would be a lie if Angel did say she wasn't at least at little fond of Connor's quirky sister. Not to mention, Angel could guess he would probably want nothing more than to be by her side right now. Though, Angel wouldn't bet on anything when it came to guessing. She was still learning about him and still had a lot to learn, but she was determined to get closer, one day at least.

"Let's hope I keep it that way. I would hate to ever disappoint you" He smiled down at her, reaching up to run his fingers through her hair gently. He seemed to enjoy playing with her hair, and thankfully his partner didn't seem to mind it too much. "Well, we should probably get going. Lord Death is going to be waiting to give us whatever mission he's got planned" He remarked, taking her hand to walk out with her. Sakura had, after all, instructed the two of them, as well as Aiko and Elam, to meet with Lord Death after class to get the specifics of their mission.

For Dante, this was nothing new. As an EAT student, he had done this before by himself, and had passed with flying colors. "This is gonna be fun. I haven't gotten to go on an actual mission in a long time. You're going to do amazing. I mean, you kicked Death the Kid in the face, not to mention sent Black*Star into low orbit!" He grinned over at his partner, giving her hand a gentle squeeze as they walked through the halls.

Dante had full faith in the abilities of his Meister. She was incredibly talented, and it was obvious to him that her parents only failed to notice because they insisted on training her all the wrong ways. He wished he could be a fly on the wall when the letter arrived telling her parents she made EAT so quickly. No matter what, he was going to make sure she passed this EAT Exam.

(Skipping to the doctor's office because I know Kishune was dealing with some stuff)

"Alright," she said to War, "I'm going to go see Dr. Stein, see you outside." Then she left the room. A large amount of students were noticing her and there seemed to be people whispering, likely gossip about the fight that was about to happen. She headed towards the infirmary, opening the door to see a nurse giving some of the students who had been fighting yesterday some kind of drink.

"Hey Nurse, do you know where Dr. Stein might be? I need him to supervise a fight outside."

"You certainly take after your father."

An amused smile danced across her lips as she approached him. It seemed he knew she was watching him, and yet he continued anyway. Nocturne saw sadistic tendencies deep within him, no matter how hard he tried to hide it. She had always been fond of Stein. He was, after all, a bit mad. It seemed Santeru was too.

"Let's save experiments for later, hmm?" Nocturne motioned for him to step aside so she could continue preparing Chloe's antibiotic. When the glass was full of water and tainted with the bitter medicine, Nocturne reappeared from the curtained area and stopped in front of Chloe. She outstretched the glass towards her, smiling kindly.

"Here. Just drink it as fast as you can. I know it's disgusting, but it's worth it. You'll be healed in no time." Nocturne maintained her smile, and was just about to turn around and walk back towards her desk, when a voice caught her attention. A girl stood inside the infirmary, asking where Dr. Stein was.

"Dr. Stein isn't here today. If you're looking for a teacher, I would suggest asking Riku. His classroom is just down the hall." The nurse told Allison, continuing to smile.

@Santeru Ishumari @Wandering Hollow @Genon

Deciding it was time to leave, Aiko rose from her place and stretched slightly, before flashing everyone in the infirmary a warm smile. Whatever the nurse had just given her, it made her a bit drowsy. Aiko would definitely be taking a nap when she got back to the apartment.

"I should get going. My partner is probably waiting for me." Aiko flicked her cloudy gaze over to Chloe, watching her down the liquid with disgust. She wasn't too fond of the drink either, and broke into a soft fit of laughter at Chloe's reaction.

"Ready to head back?" She asked softly, a gentle smile on her face as usual. Aiko hoped she hadn't kept Elam waiting for too long. They were supposed to see Lord Death in the Death Room after all.

Santeru remained within Nocturne's shadow as his hands remained busy assorting vials and paperwork waiting as the air between them burned with curiosity. "I'm where you want now come on, Don't bore me." He was almost giddy with excitement the tension was cutting into him and he couldn't help but let a small chuckle escape, Flirting with danger was absolutely intoxicating. "I don't quite know who you are, but I'll be sure to give you a show."

Santeru waved to Aiko keeping his face towards the wall as he worked as to hide his almost menacing smile. "I look forward to seeing you later." He said with a friendly tone of voice as she left.

Joining in he confirmed that Stein was not here today. "She's right, sadly I'm not sure where he is but he will turn up." He fumbled around with his hands excluding a single cigarette from his carton with precision he quickly lit it taking in a deep breath before exhaling it out. He leaned back observing and waiting.

Kurumi

Kurumi blushed at Dante's words. He was always so quick to praise her when really, it seemed Dante was doing most of the work. Nothing could have been accomplished without him. He was the one to marvel over. "Nah, you're the one who makes it all possible. You're... awesome!" Kurumi said with a burst of enthusiasm and a flutter of her free hand. Her bright smile began to falter and immediately she started to worry if maybe she was starting to sound silly. Of course she meant what she said, though.

At the mention of Black Star and Death the Kid, she felt a small pang of guilt. Kurumi had heard the students tend to have fights a lot with one another but remembering they're crumpled forms, she cringed. "They'll be okay, right?" She asked again with a frown, still not so sure despite what Dante had said earlier.

Another thought occurred to her. They were going on a mission! Where was the enthusiasm there? Oh, but there was enthusiasm along with a lot of anxiety. What did a mission entitle? It would obviously involve some fighting of course. Would it be a retrieval? An assassination? Would it be like missions on video games? No, of course not, that was just silly. Instead of going in circle's in her head, Kurumi figured it would be better to just ask Dante who had gone on them before.

"What's it like?" She asked him curiously as they walked to Lord Death's room. Oh, and there was Lord Death, too. How much respect did he demand? She had only seem him on the first day of school and in pictures associated with the academy. Was he mean? Nice? What if she did something stupid? She shot a side long glance at Dante beside her and felt a wave of calm rush over her. In his presence, she realized she felt a lot calmer. Everything would be okay when they were together, of course!

When she asked about Kid and Black*Star, he couldn't help but laugh. "Oh trust me, they'll be fine. This isn't the first time they've gotten the living hell beaten out of them. Black*Star will probably be back for a rematch by the time we finish our mission. He's a bit stubborn that way" he laughed. He was, as you might expect, on friendly(and at times competitive) terms with Black*Star, even if his standing with Kid was far more hostile. Of course, even with Kid, there was a mutual respect there, even if Kid seemed to just completely hate Dante's guts.

Then came the question about what missions were like. "Well, really it depends what the mission is. Some missions we just have to escort people, others we're supposed to eliminate Kishin Eggs. Really, it could be just about anything. My first EAT exam had me go after some monster that was terrorizing a town not too far from here. I punched it in the face" Dante smirked, quite proud of himself as the duo walked under the Guillotine arches that lead into the Death Room.

At long last, they came into the open room with a single mirror as the only actual furniture. Dante gave Kurumi's hand a reassuring squeeze, just in case she felt nervous about meeting Lord Death. Everyone was at first. Once they got to know him though, it was much easier to relax around him. "Lord Death? Are you home?" Dante called as he looked around for the Grim Reaper. Even now, he kept a gentle grip on Kurumi's hand, just in case she got nervous.

They were supposed to see Lord Death in the Death Room after all.[/Justify]

@Wandering Hollow
((And @Santeru Ishumari)

"Oh, I see. I guess I should get going then. See you." As she walked away, she put her hands in her pockets, the friction damage on the back of her jacket visible to the others as she walked away. She could just be glitching, but something about that nurse seemed a bit...off. First of all, why would you give liquid medicine to treat a Soul Menace attack? Couldn't be an antibiotic; no skin was broken, there wouldn't be an infection to treat.

Unless...oh. Oh God that's disgusting! But if that girl's colon had ruptured, I think she'd still be recovering. No, couldn't be that. Regenerative medication? Do we even have that? Have to ask Stein. Still, he brought both me and Sid back from the dead, he might be capable of something like that. Wait, if we're talking regenerative medication, why was the white-haired girl taking it? She didn't get hit by the attack, she just used up a lot of energy and collapsed. A few day's rest would heal her right up. No...there's something fishy going on here. I'm sure of it. And that nurse's smile...it seemed a bit fake. Still, it's not really any of my business. I should go find someone else to supervise. Still...I should tell Dr. Stein about it later. I thought they were all recovered.

Then she stopped in the middle of the hallway, a realization hitting her. Wait...they were all healed up and going to class, cleared by Dr. Stein. Then, Dr. Stein isn't here, and Miss Nurse shows up for "additional treatment." On top of that, that random kid is taking the same medication as the others, even though he wasn't even involved in the fight. On top of this, one of those students is about to go on her next mission! If they were cleared, why would they need to go get additional treatment? And then..."

In a few milliseconds, she replayed the last class period in her mind. She took in every detail of the room, listening to what everyone was saying. Even if her soul only paid attention to a few things at a time like an ordinary human would, her body was constantly recording every detail of her life for future analysis. She zoomed in on the white-haired professor, outside on an office chair. He mentioned a "quick check-up."

Allison aborted the memory, thinking, Oh. Well, just because two of those students are well enough to go to their next mission, that doesn't mean the Soul Menace won't have lasting effects. But...that other kid! What was he doing drinking those meds? I have to talk to Dr. Stein later, this is just odd. And that white-haired girl, Aiko, seemed a little drowsy...

With that, she went to find Professor Riku. She remembered him being the white-haired professor from earlier. She opened Professor Riku's door, knowing that the classroom would be empty. "Hey, Professor Riku? Are you available to supervise a fight between me and a girl calling herself 'Slasher'"?

((@The Velveteen Rabbit, I'm assuming that all classes are empty right now, including Riku's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.))

The Death Room was oddly silent. Lord Death was not in sight nor was one of his Death Scythes, or so it seemed. If Dante and Kurumi had payed more attention, they would have noticed they walked right past the tall cloaked figure, hiding slightly behind a cross. But it was already too late.

Out of nowhere, Lord Death sprung into sight, bouncing happily up and down.

"Yo! Hey! Hiya! Thanks for comin', great to see you! How's it goin'?!" He exclaimed in his usual, obnoxiously loud cheerful voice. Lord Death threw up two large peace signs during his greeting, tilting his head to the side slightly. It wouldn't be surprising if he scared Kurumi half to death. He did just literally pop out of nowhere.

"What brings you two to the Death Room, hmmm?"

Riku was sitting behind his desk, staring at a stack of ungraded papers with a look of exhaustion on his face. He heard the distant sounds of footsteps approaching from outside, and he looked up when seeing Allison appear at the doorway of his classroom. Immediately, a goofy grin broke out on his face.

"Available? Of course, I'm available! 'Slasher', huh? Sounds scary." He exclaimed, obviously using this as an excuse to not to do his grading for the day. Leaning back into his chair and propping his feet up against the edge of the desk, he pushed off, heading straight for Allison. Except, as soon as she moved out of the way, the wheels on his chair caught the uneven ground leading into the hallway, and Riku tumbled to the floor.

Almost as quickly as he had fallen, the professor leaped up and placed his rump back onto the chair as if he had done it a million times, and sent himself soaring down the hallway with a kick of his feet. Students further down dove out of his way, causing him to laugh boisterously until he reached the broken doors leading outside of the academy.

"That's great to hea--whoa!" Allison exclaimed as Riku rushed towards her. It was no big deal to move out of the way, with her superior reaction time, but the surprise still registered, just much earlier than an ordinary human. Then Riku rushed outside as at a speed that rivaled her own. Just as quickly, Allison sprinted down the hallway after him at a cool 15 MPH, not willing to show her full speed if she didn't need to. They both burst through the school doors, a large crowd already formed, waiting for the showdown against the school's resident bully queen to commence. Slasher was boasting, "Unlike my opponent you all showed up on time! She's probably running scared. Not many Meisters want to go up against a Weapon, especially one like me!" She was stoking the crowd for all it was worth, but not many were straight-up cheering for her. There were a few laughs and some people calling her name, but odds were several of them hated her and a few were just too scared to go against her.

Then Allison and Riku emerged, the crowd parting to let them in. Running a finger through her hair, she said in a mocking tone, obviously trying to turn the crowd against her, "Sorry Slasher, you're just not important enough to warrant fighting you without supervision. In fact, this whole thing started because you were too much of a moron to recognize that a boy and a girl aren't always fucking each other. And even if we were, do you really think I sicced War on those bullies, or your boyfriend? He did it himself. He's a bully hunter, if you didn't know. And you know what?" She made a show of cracking her knuckles. "I think I'd like to get in on the bully-hunting trade. Starting with you!" she finished, pointing her right index finger straight at her. With that, the crowd erupted at this comeback.

Slasher was seething. Her teeth were clenched, her fists balled, and her body shaking with anger. She figured she would catch this girl off-guard. Nobody said she had to be honorable. Her left kneecap became a small gun, and a soul bullet ripped out of her jeans and grazed Allison's cheek. Unfortunately, it hit the small clasp that kept her face on. With that, her face fell off at the hinge, dangling off the left side of her face. Slasher and everyone behind her got an eyeful of robo-face, causing Slasher to take a step back, and start shaking with shock instead of rage. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU!?" she exploded.

Allison replied calmly, her voice unchanged (which only made the effect creepier), "You know...I was trying to keep that a secret. But I guess I might as well tell you. I'm technically dead. After a Kishin egg killed me and my family, a Meister and Weapon managed to get there in time to save my soul only. So they took me to Dr. Stein, and because they couldn't bring my corpse on the plane, Stein gave me a robotic body. And now that I'm outed, I might as well use a larger fraction of my true abilities against you. Try not to scream too loud, wouldn't want you scaring the birds away." With that, she dashed towards Slasher, who could barely defend herself against the barrage of punches to the face, ovaries, solarplexus, and ribs after being tackled to the ground by 350 pounds of robot. She was using about an eighth of her full strength, maybe less, with each punch.

Slasher, clearly too terrified and in pain to focus on the crowd or her reputation, exclaimed, "I FORFEIT, I FORFEIT! GET THIS CRAZY ROBOT OFF OF ME, RIKU!! PLE-HE-HE-HEASE!!!" in tears with the last word. With that, Allison got off of her, and kicked her away, dragging Slasher across the ground. She was in tears, with two black eyes, and a fat lip, but no real, or long-lasting, damage. Allison had made sure not to break any bones, even though she probably could have with any one of those punches.

"You're pathetic, Slasher," Allison berated, with arms crossed and a stern expression on her face. "Go to the infirmary and get the hell out of my sight." With that, the crowd began to disperse. But most of them were whispering excitedly as they did so. It seemed they weren't as shocked at her being a robot anymore, what with her taking out a top bully. Slasher, for her part, quickly scampered off to the infirmary.

As the crowd left, Allison fiddled with the clasp, her Terminator-like skull visible for all to see. What was left of the clasp broke apart as she touched it, littering the ground. She sighed and looked at Riku. "Now I need to go see Dr. Stein. You know the way to his lab?"

Santeru hummed quietly to himself lilium was a tune he favored greatly with it's German and Latin origins his mother used to sing it to him before bed. His curious and piercing eyes settled upon Nocturne as he took another drag of his cigarette. Exhaling he gripped the side of the table he leaned against visual trembling as he started to grab a small hold of himself.

He extended his hand just slightly flashing a smile with more unhinged delight stuck behind it at this point unable to suppress himself, still aware of the presence of others he quickly retracted and with a small change in his balance decided to take a seat on a nearby bed half hidden by curtains as he continued to smoke.

He eventually extinguished his cigarette in an ash tray nearby as he sat his leg moved twitching almost in anticipation continuously waiting for what comes next it was almost maddening every second was an hour. "Why is this so fun! Why is today so interesting!"

Kurumi

"Punched a monster in the face?" Kurumi echoed in surprise. "Cool!" Kurumi tried to imagine such a scene and her thoughts traveled to all the wonderful things they would accomplish together. It would be great! She began to space out as they walked... day dreaming. She might have walked off or tripped had Dante not had a grip on her hand.

Unfortunately this also meant she had barely been aware of her close surroundings let alone a certain black cloaked God creeping out from the shadows. At the sound of his voice, she let out a high pitched squeak of alarm and scrambled around Dante so quickly she almost fell over him. Now, she stood behind him, lightly hugging him from behind and peaking out from behind him. Real professional and dignified huh?

Dante barely contained a soft laugh when Kurumi scrambled behind him. He moved to the side, gently resting his right hand on her far shoulder, keeping her close with his arm around her so she could get over the mini heart attack Lord Death had just given her. He couldn't blame her for being scared. Lord Death tended to scare everyone at first. But once you got used to him, it got hard to take him seriously... "We're here for the EAT entrance mission, Sir." He couldn't help the smile. He was excited to get back into the EAT class, especially now that he had the most awesome Meister ever. "So what's our mission going to be?" he asked, tilting his head curiously. The missions were always a little different, so he was excited to find out exactly what the two of them would be dealing with.

If he only knew what the two of them would be walking into, he wouldn't be so excited....

However, since neither Dante or Kurumi could predict the future, they just stood together for the moment, awaiting the mission assignment from Lord Death. Although Kurumi was a touch jumpy, Dante had nothing but faith in her. She had kicked Kid AND Black*Star's butts already. Compared to them, anything else would be a walk in the park, right?

Right?.....
