While we have a potential user, there is no inherent rule against more than 1 contract user, go for it.

what happens when you form the contract? does the animal-like disappear? or become a part of your character?

Essentially it becomes a part of your character in that you can summon the creature (if it allows you to summon it) and it exists in a separate plane. The basic gist is that you have to provide a service or promise to provide a service to the creature and if you break the contract you lose your powers.
