Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

Jane waved bye to her friends as they left. She smiled at them all, the wind began to blow again. She noticed Luke jogging over out of the corner of her eye. She smiled again and turned in his direction. She knew what to expect. Hearing ht howl as well, she grew cautious, but returned her attention back to Luke.

Luke finally reached the stands, spending his last moments in a sprint, getting ample momentum to hop the fence. "Hey beautiful, loved the half time show." He took off his helmet, allowing it under neath his arm. Raising a hand through his hair allowing the sweat to sway it backwards, a messy mohawk forming slightly.

Jane chuckled. "Hey...I think you're sweaty." She said, grinning. Luke looked different in his football uniform, the pads made him look like the Hulk. "And thanks, I enjoyed the game." She said, smirking randomly.

"Me sweaty, I doubt it highly." He gave a smirk back. She was obviously waiting for the inevitable, "I enjoyed winning that game, and you know what that means.". He leaned down a little, just to be face to face with her, letting his eyes explore her features,

Luke's friends were watching, making weird faces since Jane was the punk tomboy...they didn't think she was in Luke's taste. She rest a hand on his shoulder...pad. "Well...a deal's a deal." She said, and tilted upward on her tip toes to meet him. She ran a hand through his hair...forgetting it was sweaty. Say 'ew' later, Jane. She told herself in her thoughts. A lot of people Luke normally hung out with or was associated with was watching...his friends, other players and girls who flirted with him alike. Really the only people Jane knew that were there were the other Slayers. She rested a hand on the back of his neck and gently placed her lips to his.

Luke gave a smug look to some of the band girls, knowing they would be talking about this for some time. His friends were making noises and such, but he gave a glare to them and ended the nonsense. She was on her tip toes and leaning forward, ultimately approaching his lips. Her fingers were in his hair, and he felt the need to touch her somehow. His hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her upwards closed to him. When their lips finally met though, he felt an insatiable warmth fall over him. Luke allowed himself to kiss back, pursing his lips just slightly for her.

Small chills tingled on Jane's arms and neck. She kissed him back softly, giving him the real first kiss he deserved. She lightly gripped his hair and smiled against his lips. She played with his hair, the wind blew and she kiss him even softer.

The moon glistened off Jane's hair as it floated with the wind, but Luke wouldn't care for that. His eyes were closed as he enjoyed the sweetness of the moment, everything he loved about Jane came flowing in. But that was only a moment, for the next thing he knew he released the kiss. His eyes were still starstruck, almost fainting from the moment. Why he released the kiss, maybe from courtesy or maybe because he didn't know how long he could go for. "I-Uhm- Wow." He put on a calm face for the people watching, but Jane could see how in awe he was.

"Uh...yeah. Well....that happened." She said, wittingly. She was in awe, as well, her face practically glowing. Her cheeks her blushing intensely. A spark had been set off in her...a smile wiped across her face.

"I've never been more attracted to someone in my whole entire life." He thought out loud, immediately blush coming over him.

Jane blushed even more. "I uh...I-I..." She started, only to in interrupted by screaming of someone nearby on the field. She looked over and saw them...werewolves. Three of them. Not a huge number, but they were massive! Three of them was like an army...Jane's eyes widened, people saw the beasts and fled. "And I was loving this moment..Luke, turn around. I hope you brought your ring...it's gonna be a big fight." She said, breaking the loving moment.

(DUN DUN DUN!!! Feel free to respond @Huntrey , and as for the others, I know @KroNicc115 had an emergency to deal with, and the rest of us weren't online because of other IRL things. Totally cool! Seeya guys tomorrow hopefully, here's to a great weekend! @MysticPisces @CloudKitteh @Beowulf )

Conner didn't really watch the game. None of his fellow nerds were there to talk with. But he did have his laptop, and there was an internet connection. So, he spent most of the game looking at possible weaknesses for a werewolf, which could lead to possible cures. When the game was finished, he was just shuting his laptop when he saw them, three large and rather angry looking werewolves striding across midfield. Conner quickly took out and put on his amethyst slayer ring, why did a purple rock have to be his birthstone? After getting over the shock of being in a new outfit (You guys are welcomed to look for something for him.) Conner spotted the others and shouted, "Capture one! Please! I have an idea." The idea part was a lie, he had no clue what he was going to do. But he did find some wolfs bane on him, and something that might have been a holy water grenade. So far, the only cure he had found was to inject wolfs bane, or eating the stuff, before you transformed completely.

Amelia had only watched the game when some sound or sudden cheering or her pep band commitments forced her to abandon her book. So far, she hadn't found a plausible werewolf cure, and the ones that she did find all relied upon knowing the werewolf in human form. The look of complete shock and terror on Amelia's face when the werewolves appeared on the football field rivaled that of any of the non-Slayers at the game. She was completely unprepared to help cure any of the werewolves and had no clue how to defend herself against them. She slipped underneath the bleachers and put on her Slayer ring so nobody would see her in that horrible bloody dress, but...

"Well, this is different," Amelia remarked as her outfit changed to something much more suitable for fighting. She had a pair of riding boots, black leggings, a lightweight long sleeve tee cinched by a thick leather belt with pouches on it, and a vest with various cargo pockets and things on it. "Something's missing," she said, looking over herself. She reached into a satchel slung over her shoulder and found a knit cap that she put on to keep her hair held back and out of her face. "That's better," she said, satisfied with the new clothes. She examined what she had in the pouches and things, but most of them were empty. She did find four books in the satchel, most likely the ones she had removed from the Pit, and the prism she had bought from the store as well as the empty bag of potassium powder.

"I should have practiced with a weapon," Amelia muttered to herself as she ran to regroup with the other Slayers on the field.

Terra sat idly, watching the game. She'd rather be somewhere else, at the library maybe. But her mother had encouraged her to attend to support the school.

(MORNING! @Huntrey @MysticPisces @Beowulf @CloudKitteh @KroNicc115 )

The field was soon clear of the civilians. Just the beasts and the Slayers. "Let's do it!" Jane commanded to Luke ans slipped on her ring. Now in a dark tank to and cargo pants, and combat boots and fingerless gloves, her blades sheathed on her back and nunchucks at hew waist. SHe unsheathed her blades and the werewolves let out a menacing, bone chilling howl.

Luke placed on his rind, not wasting any more time. His body was engulfed in a black tank top, black and grey camo pants, and black combat boots. His staff was now on his back, sword on his waste, and black studded gloves on his hands. "Calm down Jane, Conner and Amelia do you have a cure?". He needed to know, for he felt something inside of him start to arise. It wasn't the surge of power he got from Grey, no this was different, almost primal. Luke rolled his head, allowing his neck to crackle under the force. He placed himself in front of the group, but patiently waited for Amelia and Conner. How long could he wait though?

"I have a theory." Conner said as he got down to the group. Pulling out his shot gun and pumping it, he takes aim at the closest werewolf. "Mercury also works with werewolves like silver, considering it was called quick silver back then it makes sense. I'd say a mixture of mercury and wolfs bane would either kill it or cure it."

Amelia was panting slightly from the run, but otherwise she had retained her composure. "Luke, we don't have any solid leads yet!" she exclaimed, upset at her failure. There just hadn't been enough time for research. "Please, don't kill them, Luke! Isn't there some other way?" she pleaded, practically throwing herself at him out of desperation. Perhaps there was some way to mark them so that they would be recognizable in their human form. Then, they could track them or subdue them to keep them from hurting anybody.

The werewolves started charging, not waiting for the group to consult on a plan. "Uh...guys?" Jane said, suggesting for them to turn around. The beasts were coming in fast, snarling and growling. "Stop the chit chat! Time to rumble!" She exclaimed, charging back at the beasts. But Amelia and Conner had a point...if the beasts were actually people in a curse, she wouldn't kill them. She leaped towards the beasts and unsheathed her swords and swung them at the beasts, slicing once's stomach but not stopping it. She rolled out of their way and egged the beasts on to attack.

Luke popped his studded hands, the silver bolts bursting from his knuckles. "Amelia you saw Jane with the undead, I feel something inside of me, something I don't know I can control...." His sentence was cut by the wolves. "Stay back Amelia, Ill try not to kill them.". With that he ran in, allowing himself to collide with two that were facing Jane now. His senses became heightened, and something instinctual was controlling him at this point. Luke's studded hands were pressed into either backs of the wolves, pushing them to the ground.

The third wolf was facing Jane, angry that she sliced it's stomach. "Bring it." She said as the beast lunged at her, she dodged and kicker it away, rolling to safety. The beasts were fast, and very dangerous...this fight won't be easy. As it attacked her again, she swung a blade and swiped it across the chest with it, only angering the beast. Jane looked to Luke, who seemed to be harnessing his inner Slayer. She remembered what it felt like for hers to come out with the undead...she hoped he could stop these things. Her thoughts stopped when the beast came at her again and tackled her, resulting in her kicking it off and attacking it again.

"Oh blast." he said before redirecting his aim at a leg. Well, at least he will get a test subject out of all this. Pulling the trigger, the shot landed near one of them, startling it and turning it's attention to them. "Fantastic." he said again as the werewolf turned towards him.

The wolves broke through his grip, one facing Conner and the other staring Luke down. He brought out his staff, but only for a instance. For next thing he did was hit across the wolf facing Conner, buckling both of its knees for a better shot. With this done he turned toward Jane, watching the wolf tackle her. He gave a flurry of strikes to the werewolf, seemingly breaking its jaw in a hit.

Amelia closed her eyes and braced for impact which she believed would be her inevitable demise at the tooth and claws of a werewolf. A few seconds passed and it never came. In fact, she didn't hear anything either. There were no sounds of combat, no wind whistling past, no screams from people fleeing the scene. Everything was still and silent.

Amelia opened her eyes to find herself standing alone in her bedroom, the light on her nightstand was the only light shining in the room. Sitting underneath the glow of the lamp was the unreadable book and the prism she had bought. It all seemed very déjà vu, but Amelia couldn't remember this happening before. And what about the others? She couldn't just leave them behind.

As she turned to leave, the book opened on its own and turned to a random page, the prism floating above it. Without moving, Amelia found herself kneeling beside the nightstand, hand grasping the crystal between index finger and thumb, holding it steady above the pages below. She said something without meaning to, as if she was not in control of her own body: "Annuntiate hoc arcane verba script."

At the exact moment Amelia finished saying those strange words, the prism glowed bright with an aqua colored light that glowed faintly upon the strange letters in the book. Amelia watched as the ink danced upon the page, rearranging itself before her very eyes into a language she recognized: English. When at last the ink settled upon the page once more, Amelia, of her own accord, read the title on the page, admiring the illumination on the first letter. "Arcane Mark?" she read, questioning the meaning of it all.

Suddenly, Amelia found herself back on the field of battle at the school as Luke crippled the werewolf standing before her and Conner. It dawned on her that what she had witnessed was last night after academic practice. She had used the prism to do... magic? Why didn't she remember that sooner? What had happened? She fell to the ground, clutching her head as a serious headache rolled in. Why did it have to happen now?

Jane watched Luke as all of this happened. Then turned her eyes to Amelia who was clutching her head n the ground. What the hell is going on? She thought. The werewolves were very strong...but that didn't matter to her. She returned to attacking the beasts and just before she could hit one of them, she heard a scream. It was a little girl, being corned by a forth werewolf. If the beasts were human, she knew they wouldn't attack a child that was their own original species. Jane immediately charged at the beast cornering the girl, and since Jane was invisible to the girl, she knew she could kill the monster without being seen.
