Fantasy Slayers: Modern Maniacs

"Oh come on!" He was screaming at his attempts to counter the combo failed. His character was being torn up, combos left and right, but he could do nothing about it. Her fighting style was obviously inherited from some of these characters, and she used them well. "I haven't even layed more then one combo into you!" A few minutes later that favor would be hers, and he wasn't opposed to that, but he wanted it too.

"Years and years of practice have...served...me...well!" She said, in those gaps between words her her performing the finishing moves on Luke's character. Soon, the word 'Fatality' come on the screen after a gory death of his character. "And the zombie-slayer takes the cake!" She exclaimed with a smirk. "I am victorious!"

"No... No... Noooooo" His character was destroyed, not to mentions Luke's dignity. "Alright Alright, you won." He held out both his hands as if he was about to get cuffed by the cops, "Do what you please." He was smiling, but he was hoping it would be something easy. Knowing Jane, it would be something degrading, he almost sighed at the thought.

"Hmm...well you've already agreed to wear that outfit tomorrow...so I think I'll hold onto the favor until I need something." She said, grinning at him. She lowered his hands to his lap. She chuckled at his motion of being cuffed.
Jane got up after kicking his ass in the game and popped her fingers. She winked down at him and walked out of her bedroom and sat on the railing of the stairs. She slid down all the way and smiled.

"Oh come on, get it over with." He said, finally realizing that she was getting up. Running down the stairs, not keeping her pace as she slid, he reached the bottom. "This is so unfair, come on sweetheart, lay it on me."

"Oh I think I'll just keep this favor in store for when I...have a use for it." She said with a grin. She hopped off of the stair's railing and proceeded into the living room and plopped onto the back of the couch. "And as a heads up, the only thing being laid on you is coming to ya after the game on Friday if you win...Remind me again why our mascot is a knight." She said, still reminding him of her promise to him about the kiss...and making a semi-clever Slayer joke...but it sucked.

"Such crap." He hopped on the couch next to her, allowing minimal space, "You know I'm going to win, why not just give it to me now." He winked, but he knew it wouldn't work. "Because we have the fighting spirit of one." He rolled his eyes at the could be slayer joke, for it was quite weak. He adjusted his necklace slightly, mostly keeping his hands busy as he waited.

"Be patient. You win that game and I promise you'll get your kiss." She winked and grinned at him. "But just to shut you up..." She said and pecked him on the cheek. The kiss she left on his cheek was quick and warm.

"What do you mean to shut me-" Her lips landed on his cheek yet again, and that weird warmth rolled through him. "Jane can we talk about that actually?". He was done with this little mind game he was playing, he needed answers. Why was she being nice to him, and by nice why was she liking him? Just because he had a sob story, just because he is nicer then most knows, or because of alternatives motives.

"Why has your attitude towards me changed, I just don't understand why you would want to spend time with me like this." He knew that she wanted to be friends, but why more than that. Luke couldn't understand the change.

She let out a tiny breath. "If I told you, you'd think I was an idiot." She said and grinned again. "I know I changed my outlook on you so fast...well...it's stupid really." She said.

She sighed. "You'll think I'm a freak...but you remind me a lot of my dad. He was the jock in his high school days...and his parents were like yours. It's also why I never talk to them, I prefer my mom's parents. But...you're a lot like him...your nice, polite, a little cocky, you go for what you want, you're not truly afraid to go for what you believe in....and you're good looking." She said. It wasn't weird to call her own father good looking, lots of girls do. After all, Jane's father was actually a very handsome man, based on all the pictures of him in the house. "It's been three years since I last saw him...he's in the army, as I said before, and well...he's very busy. Not even home around the holidays anymore...you just remind me of him, you kind of share his...spark. It's like I can see him in you....it's really dumb, I'm probably a freak." She said, sighing and looking away. Under her toughness and 'doesn't care' attitude was this sad, broken girl.

Like her father? It was an awkward comparison, but she went further in depth. Good looking, I knew it. Then she began to go in depth about why this house was empty. He reached out, pulling her into a hold, allowing her head to his chest, "I know you feel like you have to be tough, but knowing this, I know you are hurt." She was obviously distraught, even going as far as to replace her dad with Luke. Daughters were supposed to like guys like their fathers, so it made sense, but now it seemed as though she wanted someone to be a reminder of the dad.

"I'm not hurt...I just...." She started, then removed her head from his chest. "I don't want you to feel like you're just a reminder of my dad...I like you because..." She paused. Oh crap, I just said I like him... She thought. "You're different. Yeah, you're like my dad, but...well....you know how you told me there's never been a girl to like you for being you? Well...I know how that feels. I've dated a few guys before...and really, they just thought I was cute. A 'tomboy that didn't care' is what they saw...and I think you can see past that." She admitted. "And when I was raped, it wasn't because he was just super horny...it was because his friends told him, and I quote, "it'd be so cool if you raped her, you gotta get some!" I feel like you can actually see me as something else...not just a tomboy...or a punk...but...Jane."
(@Huntrey @MysticPisces @KroNicc115 @CloudKitteh @Beowulf night guys!!! Friday tomorrow, so after school I should be totally pumped and posting!!!! and @Huntrey .....I'm loving the Juke moment so far, lol. Keep it going and we'll soon have a time leap to a plot point! night guys!!! :) )

"Well, Jane, I'm sorry they couldn't see what I do." It was decided in his mind, and friday after the game he would let her know. With that Luke went home, giving his goodbye in the form of a hug and a wave. Falling asleep in his bed let everything rush into him, but as far as he cared, his world was perfect.

@PenBlade1326 Nope too tired for big Juke paragraphs xD summed it up, so time leap to friday soon. Have fun at school, talk to you tomorrow.

After some time in silence as they bith did their work, Conner spoke up. "Now I know why werewolves don't like wolfs bane. To normal people, it is a deadpy toxin. Even in small amounts it can cause vomiting of both ends. Consumed in large amounts, needless to say you will die. Not sure qbout this part, if a werewolf comes into direct contact with wolfs bane it will die. But on the plus side, along with werewolves, vampires don't like it either."

Amelia listened intently to Conner's findings and rebutted with her own. "In German folklore, there is a belief that if you call a werewolf by its Christian name three times, their soul will be purified and cured of the curse," Amelia recited. "I'm not sure I buy it, though. There are several stories that claim that knowing a person's True Name holds sway over them, but that's so farfetched," she added. Plus, how was she supposed to find out someone's True Name? They had to identify the werewolves first and cure them before the Slayers put them down.

(@MysticPisces @Beowulf @CloudKitteh @Huntrey @KroNicc115 Hiya everyone! TIME LEAP now that the brains have exchanged some knowledge and Luke and Jane had their moments...and I dunno where Takao and Terra are atm. but the TIME LEAP is to Friday, after school, before the football game, about 5:00 so the football team's practicing and the band has just finished their halftime show rehearsal. We're all on the football field, and those who aren't in band or FB are there just to watch practice/the game or hanging out...your choice. #plotiscoming)

Jane felt a little tired after the marching band's rehearsal for the halftime show. Marching band wasn't hard for her...sure, it was physically demanding, but she never felt too tired when doing it. Her endurance was great. She and few of her friends from band sat in the empty bleachers while the football team practiced. On occasion, her eyes would see Luke's number (whatever it is) and she'd watch him for a few seconds before talking with her friends. The band was wearing their game attire, the official band tee shirts in white, and a pair of blue shorts to show off school colors. The band didn't take football games too seriously since they weren't a competition for them. She put her piccolo flute away in it's case and set it safely with the other instrument cases. An odd thing about Jane's friends was that they were all from different band sections. She was a flute player, and her friends ranged from clarinet, trumpet, trombone, marching snare drum, alto and tenor saxophone, and a color guard member. Sure, same genres in a few spots...but different. Her eyes quickly glanced at Luke's number on the field and she smiled.
Her friends playfully made fun of her for 'liking' Luke. Or as they called him, bigtime jock boy. She laughed at their joking manner and continued to glance at him from time to time. She also noticed his jock friends who had made fun of him behind his back when he wore the outfit from Hot Topic to school...she shook her head a them and continued talking to her friends, taking a drink of water from a bottle every few minutes.

As Jane chatted with her band friends, Amelia sat away from them at the end of the bleachers, entranced by a book she was reading. She had smuggled it out of the Pit by putting a Harry Potter book cover over it so Mr. Grey would not realize she had removed yet another book from the library. She was following a different lead on curing lycanthropy from Danish folklore that stated that giving a werewolf a good scolding could cure them. This seemed utterly outrageous, but Amelia recalled that one could strip a witch of their powers by publicly accusing them of being a witch. Of course, this was also outrageous, but it made some sort of sense. If witches got their powers from making pacts with demons, it would be understandable that the demon would abandon them if they were found out. Why not the same with lycanthropes? If the curse was somehow sentient, it would no longer be safe if it was detected.

The football coach dismisses the team to relax and calls off practice. It's about 6 now, and the team is free to rest up while the opposing team can take the field to do their own warm ups and stretches. Jane watches as the hometeam heads to the locker room, keeping her glance on Luke (@Huntrey ) as subtly as possible. She smiled while glancing at him without knowing it. (I'll do a leap soon so we don't have to sit through the game, lol)

More time had passed, the game was about to start and Jane had set up with the band in the bleachers. She ended up sitting beside Amelia. They were both the most skilled flute players, it was a no-brainer to have them sit together and both play piccolo in pep/marching band. As the game started, the band played a few pep tunes to get the crowd pumped and the team motivated. (ANOTHER TIME LEAP, after the game, the score is 21 to 13, the home team won)

Jane exited the stands after the game was over and people started to leave. She yawned and stretched her arms, tired from a long night of pep band and the halftime show. It was a half moon out, (yes, plot moment about to happen! get ready Luke! @Huntrey ), and the night was calm. A faint howl could be heard in the distance, probably just a dog.

Luke stood before his teammates giving his speech about how good this season will be for them. With their cheer and a bunch of hands in the air, they departed. Luke exchanged a couple high fives and the occasional pat accompanied with "good game". Seeing Jane exit the stands Luke began to jog over, noticing the howl and laughing, for just a day ago they were about to fight werewolves. He was across the field and due to exhaustion, it would take a second to get his kiss.
