Silver Moon, Beta female​

Saoirse greeted her fellow beta with a tired grin, knowing all too well the annoyance which was etched onto his features as the slender wolf walked towards them. However, a little part of her cringed at the look he held. Despite the simmer of glee she felt at the sight of him, there was nothing on the wolf’s face to lead her to believe her crush went both ways.


“Yeah it’s good to see you too, Eclipse” Saoirse answered before being able to stop herself, her eyes rolling bitterly as she tried to suppress her current trail of thought. This manifested itself with a shrug, pointing her nose towards the new comer. “This is Ullr, long time lone wolf.” She stopped here before stretching out her long legs, finally being able to relax as she now, at least, outnumbered the strange wolf. If he made a move, both her and Eclipse could out manoeuvre him within a blink of an eye. Just one of the perks of belonging to a pack.


“He’s looking for some food, but unlike the other run in we had, has decided to ask, rather than simply take.” She grinned at this, “I suppose manners go a long way. I was going to wait until Night gave me the all clear to bring him back.” Standing once more, she ruffled out her pale fur with a sigh. Part of wished that she had remained next to her forest pool this morning. Perhaps if she had, she would not have to watch the repeated maiming of the young Red River wolf on repeat in her head at least.

Ullr kept his head bowed submissively, he knew he was outnumbered, and he thought more would be coming too. He didn't want to fight, he didn't need to. Ullr sensed there was something going on between the two wolves he was with but decided not to question it.


He noticed the new the wolf was a strange mix of black and white, something he hadn't seen before. In all honesty he was just used to snow so he almost shrugged this 'irregularity' off. He shook his head, "I'm sorry if I'm trespassing, which I know I am. I'm just here for food, nothing more." He almost growled defensively, nervously; his instincts told him to run, You shouldn't be here, they told him, and part of him agreed. He held back the growl.

Raising an eyebrow at Saoirse's response, Eclipse returned his gaze back towards Ullr as he noticed the suppressed growl. Apparently this wolf was a little more stupid than Vulcan, just blatantly strolling into Silver Moon territory and asking for some food as if they were a charity center. He was lucky though, he ran into Saoirse who was relatively more friendly than some other more defensive members of Silver Moon. Sighing, his black and white coat rippled as he spun around back towards the camp.


"Bring him back to camp if you want, you can address him to Nightingale later. To be honest my patience has long run thin so I'm just going to get rest," he said coldly, moving back into the darkness of the forest. He was even a little surprised at himself at the venom strung between his words. He was usually a lot friendlier, and more welcoming, but after everything that happened today you couldn't blame him if he didn't want to deal with any other strangers. A pang of guilt tugged at him for the way he treated Saoirse but he shoved it back down as he continued moving back towards the camp, not looking back to check if Saoirse and/or Ullr had followed him.

Ullr almost raised his head, but he knew this could be interpreted as disrespectful. He sighed; he was going to pay this pack back for any hospitality they gave him. He felt a little wounded in all honesty and felt a bit angered by this wolf's lack of patience. He knew something had happened to this pack today, he also knew it wasn't his business until they told him otherwise. He glanced aside at Saoirse, "I assume he isn't normally like this, impatience is kind of inexcusable." His voice was neutral, unlike Eclipse's, although he raised it slightly. He wanted to see Eclipse's reaction.

Flinching at the remark made by Ullr, Eclipse decided to brush it aside without further thought. It would only make matters worse for him if he decided to shove even more stress on to him. He continued to wander through the forest, not even having a set destination in mind anymore, it was as if he started to question everything he ever knew. Was this hostility between the two packs even necessary? Was bringing in all these lone wolves necessary as well? He started feel faint as he continued thinking about this. His mental capabilities at the moment were too worn out and rendered him unable to think straightly. He laid down next to a tree as he closed his eyes, thoughts swirling and light-headed.

Saoirse flashed Ullr a warning glance. "Perhaps fool was a better title for you. After all antagonising a wolf which will help decide your situation, is not a wise decision." Even if he is a rude, self absorbed... Saoirse thought, her eyes returning to the spot where a Eclipse had gone, taking whatever sense of hopefulness she had held, with him.


Part of her could not believe he had left her with a lone wolf, or even excuse his sharpness. Yet she guessed she had initiated latter. Biting back a growl, she turned and began her way back towards the den. It was generally a bad idea to turn your back on someone you didn't know, but Ullr had to know that attacking her, in her packs territory would only result in more pain for him.


"Keep close and don't wander." Saoirse sighed, looking over her shoulder. "We'll head back to the den and I'll present you to the alpha."

Ullr nodded, "Yes, that was foolish of me." He padded alongside her, keeping to her instructions to stay close, but, as before, he kept his head low, submissively. Knowing Saoirse said that Eclipse would help decide his situation, Ullr wondered if he was an alpha. He glanced aside at her, pausing for a moment before asking, "Is he the Alpha then?" A sense of dread almost overwhelmed him; if he had indeed antagonised the alpha male, there wasn't anyway he would be able to get any food.

Mercy sat down and began to clean her pups, it was an action that calmed and soothes her nerves, she did not like feeling unsafe and right now that was exactly how she felt. Once she was done she admired her beautiful pups before leaving without a word just a serious look that meant. Do not leave this den. breaking through the waterfall and dousing herself in water she began to walk a little upstream, to where she had buried the three fish. She dug them up and began to take them back to her den. Her pups yapped excitedly by the arrival of food and jumped around her excitedly just as bracken woke up and tried to snatch one from her jaws, she growled at him and he backed away respectfully.


Mercy turned away and left them once again to hunt something a bit bigger. Something like a rabbit or Capybara that way it would fill them all up, besides her pups were getting to that sort of age where they were very quickly needing more food. She was going to have to make them wait longer for their food so that she could also feed herself.

Maka was really happy when her mother came back into the den after washing her, because she had brought food with her this time. She went quiet when her mother growled a warning at her brother Bracken, but he should have known that those sorts of actions were not acceptable. Because of his action he had to wait a little longer for his fish as she got hers first the a short while after his brother got his own.

Bracken rolled onto his left side then his right before yawning and waking up. When he was awake he noticed his mother walk in with some fish in her jaws and he jumped towards it in an attempt to snatch it out of her jaws. Her growl reminded him that those sort of actions were not tolerated around her.


He became quiet and moved back from her and only began to whine when Maka got a fish before him. His mother seemed to ignore his whines and watched as Maka took a few bites before she pushed the fish to him. He tucked into the fish with renewed vigour. He had been so hungry, even when he had finished the fish he was still hungry.

Biting back a bitter bark of laughter, Saoirse, against her better judgement, grinned at the Ullr's question, before as quickly as it had appeared, the smile vanished, Saoirse's mood sobering fast.


"No, he is not, despite the fact that he is meant to be." Saoirse answered, her soft voice coming out in a sigh. "Eclipse is the beta male, whilst Nightingale is our alpha. You'll know her, the moment you see her." She continued on, keeping her head high. "We have no alpha male, not yet anyway, but things change. A lot of males are trying to compete for her affections, no doubt you'll be tempted too as well." Again Saoirse laughed, this time allowing the emotion to wash over her and sooth her mind. She had carried far too much tension today and the release from her biting mind was a welcome one.


"I'm willing to bet a mongoose on it, actually." She grinned before shrugging.

Ullr glanced aside at her, Who would refuse to be an alpha? He shrugged off the question, nodding when she explained that Eclipse was the Beta.


Intrigued, Ullr looked back in front of him, his fur bouncing slightly as he moved, Ullr asked Saoirse another question, "So, in the pack, what are you?" He could tell she was tense and didn't want to aggravate anyone any more than he had already. More information was needed before he could do that.


He thought more about what she said about the Alpha female and he almost raised an eyebrow, We'll see, he thought, We will see.

Eclipse took a few deep breaths before he opened his eyes again. He had finally snapped back there and he was a bit ashamed at himself despite all the stress that had been put on him. The new lone wolf would be a bit of a hassle though since there was already a bit of tension between him and Ullr. Eclipse continued to lay next to the tree as he let his thoughts run free, which gave him a peace of mind. There wasn't anyone to disturb him here and it was quite a nice change from the rowdy, noisy living space back at their camp.





Hearing footsteps near him, he realized Saoirse and Ullr must have started moving back to camp as well. Not wanting to run into them again, Eclipse quickly got up and shifted his location until he was a decent bit away from where they probably were. Still needing time to clear his thoughts, Eclipse continued to wander through the forest, unloosening all his stress and worries.
