True, but admittedly Moirallegience in its best form isn't just about allaying rage and reckless murderous tendencies in both Trolls, but in bringing out and finding a balance in both halves as well as just general comfort. Like how Equius helped Nepeta make sure she never got involved with a team of murderers and crazy people and be manipulated or involved. And also listened to her about her frustrated and unrequited feelings for Karkat

From my experience, lunar sway depends more on personality than gender and class...

Since Rose and Dave are both insular and have private personalities, and are both more snarky. While John and Jade are obviously the opposite, both sets of personalities fitting their respective dreaming moons

But there are still a lot of exceptions with the trolls in that sense. Feferi and Nepeta living on Derse despite both being rather up front, calm and cheery people who don't exactly like scheming, while Vriska lives on Prospit despite her penchant for megalomanical violence and her deep fears about being insufficient in her culture

If you adhere to the active/passive class theory, and assign it with Dreaming moons though, it makes sense.

And the only exception to the rule are the four trolls that share a class with the kids in Beta session, who have opposite moons to them Equius (Heir, derse), Terezi (Seer, Prospit), Karkat (Knight Prospit), Feferi (Witch, Derse)

One of them talked about the differences between Prospit and Derse, and basically the main difference is whether or not you're an optimist of pessimist. Everyone's capable of expressing optimism or pessimism, but what your default is defines your lunar sway.

I like the idea everyone would think Karkat belongs on Derse, but he belongs on Prospit, since he's secretly a really nice person who just wants what's best for his friends and wants them to get along, and regrets all of the mean shit he's said to them over the years

Also, I think Puzyri <> Sfyrna has good vibes, since they'd definitely be friends, but I'd like to see some more on everyone's character before I make any commitments about such a relationship? And considering what you wrote about balance, SerbianMounted, I imagine Sfyrna in a moiraillegiance could benefit from a calming influence and someone to listen. She spends a lot of time trying to solve problems or at least put her mind (and a would-be moirail's) on something happier, which can be good. But she has a hard time holding her tongue, gets snappish and mean when she feels like other people are hiding something, and has burned bridges in moments of anger before. Could benefit from someone to tell her to chill, and perhaps someone could benefit from her getting them to move?

I don't, but I do remember reading a ton of theories about how lunar sway and classpect were determined while Homestuck was still updating.

Andrew Hussie did mention, I believe in a Tumblr post quoted in this Reddit, Vriska's lunar sway. In short, her personality is extremely suited to Derse, but her lunar sway is Prospit due to a "sorting hat" effect. (What I took away from it: she wanted to be the hero and the most important. Derse is the "aggressing" kingdom, where iirc the Derse dreamers work against Derse via subterfuge and sabotage from within. Prospit is the "defending" kingdom, so its dreamers have a more straightforward hero/defender role. I can see why she'd prefer Prospit.)

Considering that Sburb/Sgrub is about personal growth, I find it more plausible that game mechanics like class and lunar sway are based on personal traits and growth patterns. (There are a significant number of diverging theories about what each class and moon denotes about one's personality, though. While I have a number of opinions of my own, I think the closest thing we have to "definite" information on lunar sway and classpect was the Extended Zodiac quiz, and I can't fault anyone who doesn't agree with it or take it as law. I'd really like to hear argotNaut 's opinions on it before I get too attached to any one role.)

I would think that Ghumso and Sfyrna wouldn't be the best as moirails, but they would be great as friends since they're both the more practical of the 'Team TrollRace'. Whereas Bapfen and Puzyri are more calm, wholesome and cheery, the other two bond over being a little more rough around the edges in their respective ways. So I'd say Ghumso definitely respects her a whole lot, and thinks she's pretty fucking rad

On the topic of the extended zodiac quiz, I acually have little issue with defining lunar sway via the quiz, since lunar sway should be independent of class and aspect, but defining aspect on the quiz is extremely misleading. class and aspect are so tightly wound together that giving an aspect without also giving a class is extremely impractical. the quiz is great for a jumping off point when defining your title, but I strongly think it should not be an end-all-be-all for titles in the slightest. it's official, sure, but not the most complete quiz in its own right.
