Upon meeting the mermaid character:
"Who am I? Lady, do not trouble yourself with these trivial matters. Because on the inside, I am a mermaid just like you."
"Me? Afraid of your height? Not so, lady. 'Cause when I get triggered my cock can grow twice as large as your entire body."
No one, no light kingdom knight, no super-violent humanoid mushroom is going to stand in his way now!

Besides, the mercenaries are bored and they aren't willing to fight their own

Of course, I was just kidding intentionally.

Walter arriving stark naked on the day of the duel against the Dark King.
He knows he's outmatched, so he tries one last ploy...
"Where are my weapons? Where is my armor? I don't need that sissy shit. I am a weapon and my abs are so hard that it functions as armor."
"If you are to fight me as an equal, I demand that you do the same."
And after the dark lord strips himself to do that...

Two naked men beating themselves up.
Many people died for this battle to take place. And the fate of the entire world rested on their hands. Yet it had to end up like this. When super crazy shit
happened, it had to be the work of Walter, for no man nor god was ever this insane.

Walter can't use magic, yet the mages challenge him to a duel anyway and demand he use magic to beat them.
(Inspired by the Borderlands accountants scene.)
The mages "die" by doing a few somersaults or backflips into the air and crashing hard on the ground.
They were in the prime of their physical fitness after all.
Roleplaying within a roleplay.
The first move is made by a mage... who says "LIIGGGGTTTTNNIIINNNG STRIKKKKEEE!"
-He makes electric noises and redirects it to Walter.
Walter "catches" this thunderbolt with his right hand, and redirects it back to the mage, who gets hit, jumps up into the air and does a few somersaults
before crashing hard into the ground.
This is where the real battle begins.

Walter catches a kid who he taught how to defend himself from a bully.
The kid in question was on the run from the authorities because he held the bully at ransom from his parents.
"You... you... I'm so proud of you, boy!"
This boy will be Walter's son's future mentor.

-Written by Walter's personal chronicler.
Part 1 - Introduction and the Preparation for War
=It shows Walter's logistical as well as strategic genius.
-Preparation is half the battle.
-Shows how an Elysium faction prepares the resources necessary to fight for war.
-Walter openly shows his contempt for magic and opts for a more conventional force but learns the hard way why magic is needed.
-Shows Walter's leadership style.
-The chronicler lists the organization of the army, and includes the various combat and auxiliary roles of the men serving Walter.
-He even includes quotes from the cooks, the arrow fetchers and the people mostly ignored in the battlefield. There are jobs in the army that people in
Elysium aren't even aware about!
-Mines laid by engineers which are built by mages. Step on them and a light magic spell will activate. And there are even bomb disposal units that send in
golems to disable them. Even if the golems aren't alive, the bomb technicians get close to them and give them names. And if one of the golems dies, the
technicians even hold a funeral for them.

Part 2 = Mercenaries, Barbarians and Pirates
=Detailed accounts of Walter's exploits with the Germanic Barbarians, the Viking pirates, and the Flemish/Italian/French/Anglo-Saxon mercenaries

-Various knight orders are assigned to militias or inexperienced mercenary units to act as commanders or military consultants.

I guess everybody's reading my chronicles...
I was planning for Walter's chronicler to die when he was attacked by bandits. He was off on a vacation to see his parents in Alisetta, but he got ambushed while on the road. The guards fought alongside the chronicler, and though he was no fighter, he managed to kill some bandits by stabbing them in the eyes with his pen.
And in the end pages, he wrote the last pages of Walter's chronicles with his own blood. The chronicler died doing the one thing he loved... writing.
And soon Walter's chronicles ends up in Nolan's hands.
This is so Nolan can know about Walter's history and his motivations.
