Yeah I noticed that too that I'm like ah what if she can also control shapeshifter, but she does have to convince the animals to do as she says. So it might take time for her to reach that point on where she might control your character. It's possible that we don't need to add that if you don't like someone to control your character.

I think it could be interesting- she could only control him if he isn't expecting it or is focusing on something else, but if he's willlingly blocking her out it wouldn't work, if that's okay with you?

TinyMochi - Could I also give Adrian limited telepathy to use while shifted, like thoughtspeak from Animorphs? He can communicate telepathically to others, but they can't communicate telepathically to him, unless they're telepaths themselves, and it only works in a short range.

  Scarlet's powers might be more subtle, but are extremely useful to someone with her specific skillset. Her mind runs much faster than most, allowing her to calculate the exact way to a take a precision shot, making her formidable with any ranged weapon. She also has heightened agility, making her able to dodge any blow she can see coming, and giving her somewhat of a 'danger sense'.

  Scarlet puts up the act that she's any other princess. Polite, courteous, kind, almost sickeningly so. In reality, Scarlet is very serious, rarely getting distracted from her goals. Scarlet possesses a cool confidence, feigning the belief that she can take on the world with only a dagger and sheer will. She holds herself to very high standards, and can struggle when she doesn't reach them. She's not too big for planning, but can step up and be a leader when the situation calls for it.
  
  Family's a sore subject to Scarlet, and she can very quickly become closed off if it's brought up. She trains to distract herself from her alcoholic brother, her uncaring father, her failure of a kingdom. She believes that, by single-handedly attempting to put an end to her nation's street crime, she can restore it to what it once was. She could end the wars, end crime, end everything wrong with her kingdom. Of course, deep down, she knows it won't be nearly that easy- it was just a poor excuse for something to keep herself occupied. Though she really, truly, does feel that doing what she can to improve her kingdom will honor the late Jason's legacy in some way.

  The kingdom of Elúsia was once a great and powerful nation, boasting one of the largest militias in the world, praised for it's best-trained spies, soldiers, and assassins. But after the death of the great king Xaivyr, a war broke out between Elúsia and a neighboring kingdom, causing the kingdom to fall into ruin- while the new ruling class couldn't care less. Fear ruled over the kingdom, and a new criminal underworld sprang up in the ruins of the once great kingdom. The crime hotspot of the continent, Elúsia can provide basically anything, for the right price- from exotic creatures, to special elixirs, to the deepest, darkest things you can only ask for by name. The streets of Elúsia operated like this for many years while the nobility didn't bat an eye- but it wouldn't stay that way for long...
  
  Scarlet was born to Xaivyr's daughter, Jessaphine, and her husband Rhean. Jessaphine died a childbirth, leaving Scarlet to be raised by her father and older brother, Darian. Though both her father and brother treated her as though she was some kind of fragile doll, sheltering her from the war and the condition her kingdom was in. The only person that treated her as an equal and not a prissy pink princess was her brother's best friend, Jason. Jason and Scarlet grew up together, and over time, Scarlet saw him as another brother- they'd play fight, run around the palace, and even sneak around after dark when they weren't allowed to be out. Once Jason turned fourteen and began his knightly training, Scarlet begged him to join- she'd seen the noblemen sparring outside the castle, and realized she had never wanted the life of a lady of the court, but that of an honorable soldier, going out to battle and giving her life for her country. Initially, Jason had said no, but after weeks of begging, pleading, and bribery, Jason finally gave in, taking her to one of his training sessions. The older knights weren't so happy to have a preteen girl in their midst's, but who were they to say no to a princess?
  
  Jason an Scarlet continued to train together, and over time, they started to develop feelings for one another. They'd sneak out of the palace under the cover of darkness, sneak to the edge of the castle grounds to express their feelings for one another. Eventually, Jason and Scarlet's brother turned eighteen, and were both drafted into the war. Scarlet would write Jason letters, filled with heartfelt confessions, cheesy jokes, or just what she'd done that day. Every night, she'd gone out to where she and Jason would meet every night, counting down the days until he'd return. A year later, Darian came back- and Jason didn't. Not only was Scarlet completely heartbroken, but Darian was completely empty, left distraught after seeing war- and the death of his best friend. Scarlet's once noble and jokey brother became cold and distant, coming back to the palace late at night intoxicated, sometimes with bruises and black eyes to boot. Scarlet, seventeen at the time, couldn't stand seeing her brother like this- and decided she'd do something about it.
  
  One cold autumn night, Scarlet decided to follow Darian out, and hopefully convince him to come back to the palace with her. As she exited the castle grounds, Scarlet's sheltered upbringing came crashing down on her. Every other step, Scarlet would see the eyes of the homeless trailing her, a shady deal going down, or just a person sitting on a stoop, crying at the waste of a kingdom. Scarlet was about to just give up and head back to the palace, when she heard a scream from a nearby alleyway, where a woman was being mugged. Scarlet decided she'd do something stupid- she picked up a rock, staring down the attacker. All of a sudden, time seemed to slow- Scarlet could feel her muscles tensing, the slightest change in the way the attacker moved, or the shift in the wind, It was almost ad though her brain was working at warp speed, calculating how and when to take the shot. She threw the rock, nailing the criminal right in the eye- from fifteen feet away. Scarlet ran off before the woman could recognize her, but from that day on, she knew what she needed to do.
  
  From that night forward, Scarlet would slip out every night, patrolling her kingdom and stopping crime when the other nobility refused to. Her time that would've been spent on studies went to training instead, and though Scarlet was never the best of a shot, ever since Jason died, she seemed to be improving at a rate unprecedented for any knight, let alone a princess. Shooting bows and guns, spearthrowing, even swordfighting were becoming more and more natural to her- but Scarlet's favorite weapons by far were daggers. Clean, efficient, precise. Just like she was planning to be. She saw her kingdom as a phoenix, burnt down to ashes, just waiting to be reborn. Her bother, her father, they refused to represent it. So she would have to.
  
  Scarlet would have to become Elúsia's Phoenix.
