Nation Building Second Dawn OOC

I mean the 50% thing. Is it like, which even city you go after, you can only get 50% there in two weeks, or can you only expand out 50% of your towns size?
You can increase your nation by 50%. Or multiply its size by 1.5. For the starting size I am happy for you to use the larger metropolitan area to expand from (Since I do kinda want early expansion to not be too slow, for those that want to expand that is)

1.5 would be more than 50%, no?

Ok I see, you don't want us traveling to different territories in days, which limits us to sorrounding cities. Smart. So I would do the caculations, find a city near, and conquer said city AND the land between the two?

I don't think conquering and stuff would be that simple, I think there should be obstacles taken into account, gangs, radiations, attrition, etc. Of course that's up to the GM though.

Taking largely empty and worthless land should be fairly easy (though feel free to cause your own issues) Taking cities will rarely be so simple and I will cause issues there. During your mission to claim I may still throw things at you but that is just a general way of annoying you because I am evil.
And what do you mean city and intervening land? I mean if you want to have a fairly thin claim of land between cities and expand like a sort of web, you can but... that will be a weakness to be exploited by an evil GM so watch out? Does that answer your question since it kinda confused me

I see what you mean. Take actual countries for example, they don't have cities covering every square inch, and do have plots of land that are mostly just for territories sake. That's the thing I'm going for, because if someone invades between two cities you've conqured, it seems pointless the have them both in the same place.

Yeah, they become cut off and you then have diffuculty, especially when larger nations start specialising the productions of towns and needed to transport goods to and fro.

Yea, so if I were to conquer a couple of key cities around Ukraine, then I could get what I missed, forming a type of country, which is what I'm going for.
