SCHOOL LOCK-IN [Inactive]

She nodded and continued her gaze down, she started going even slower than before
"Mike... I'm not sure.. how much farther. i can.....go" she says, leaving her breathless

I reply to the radio a little later then intended. "I'm so sorry Mandi, I was trying to stall the gunner. You guys need help? I don't know where the guys are, but I think I can go…" I say hesitantly. "I just don't want to leave the place unguarded. You guys are only a couple doors away from the library!!" I tell them desperately. "Mike, please make sure Mandi's okay. Chase needs her, and he's not doing all that great." I look over at him.

Michael signaled for Mandi to stop and raised the walkie to his mouth. "Understood. I found some meds for him. We'll be there soon."

Mike turned to look Mandi in the eye. "This is killing you. You need to get off your feet." His expression and tone became desperate. "Mandi, please. "

"Wait, what? You're going to carry her?" I finger the hem of my shirt uncomfortably. "Can you make it? If you can, try, but don't get hurt." I stand from the computer, gripping the walkie.

She tried to protest with what little energy she has left "go. I'll be in ...here" she opens a class room door and goes in and shuts it

From inside she mouths for mike to keep going. 'Think

About Chase. He needs that medicine...'

Hubert and Chase walked into the library, with Hubert holding the door open for Chase. "I know my own knowledge of medecine is pretty much limited to Healing Potions and the Heal Spell, but it looks like your wound may need to be rebandaged. Do you want help with that?" His usual cheerful attitude had returned, and he smiled at Chase.

[it didn't look like you were going to post, so I did it. And don't be afraid to ask Hubert about his sister again later xD ] @onesimpleidea

Michael shook his head. "I'll stay here as long as I need to, Mandi. You're coming with me." He reaches for the door handle.

She turns the lock on it. Not let him in. "Go" she says hoarsely. Not sure how much longer she could stand up right

Michael placed his hand up against the glass of the door, feebly attempting to push the door open. It didn't budge.

Mike looked down at the floor, fists clenched. Finally he looked back up. "I'll be back soon. Stay safe," he said desperately. With that, he took off at a jog toward the library.

Michael spoke into the radio, "Sanaa, I'm on my way back with the medicine. Be ready."

The doors of the library were in sight, and none too soon. Michael's head felt like it would explode at any second. He was losing his balance, his feet nearly falling out from under him. He raised the radio to his lips and raggedly said, "I'm here."

As the doors opened, he collapsed in the threshold.

Mandi hears noises coming from the stairwell next to her class room she musters up enough energy to hide under the teachers desk

Sanaa

I shut the doors quickly, locking them and shoving te chairs and the shelf back against it, then rush to Mike, desperately (but relatively gently) shaking his shoulders. "Are you okay?? Where's Mandi?"

At the sound of Sanaa's voice and the mention of Mandi's name, Michael fought off the darkness encroaching on the edges of his vision, resisting unconsciousness. He came back around with a gasp, eyes snapping open to focus on Sanaa.

"I'm fine. Mandi's still out there. Here."

He dug desperately through the pouch on his backpack, his hands wrapping around the two pill bottles. He held up the first. "Ibuprofen. Give him four. Should help with the pain and bring down his fever. Then," he pulled out the amoxicillin. "Antibiotics. Give him two. There's not many left in here. Hopefully Ashley and Aaron found more..." Michael's voice was tired and weak, his muscles even more so. His head felt like a nuclear reactor melting down.

But none of that mattered. Handing over the pills, he stood back up, grabbing the blade and staggering toward the doors.

As Mandi rocks back and forth under the small desk, darkness creeps into the side of her vision.

She whispers to herself, "stay calm. Chase is safe, everything will be ok"

She thinks she hears someone trying to enter through the back door but isn't sure if she is just imagining it. For the last time she finally falls unconscious underneath the small and cramped desk her ball.

Sanaa

"No! You idiot!" I snarl at him, ripping him away from the door. "You are not leaving this place. If anyone is getting her, I am. I refuse to another person get injured. I'm healthy. I can go."

Michael turned to glare at Sanaa, fierceness overcoming fatigue. "No!" he roars. "I left her back there. It's on me. You need to stay here and take care of Chase."

He paused, calming down slightly. His voice lost his edge as he locked eyes with her. "You're one of the only healthy ones left, like you said. You need to stay that way, Sanaa."

Sanaa

"No!" I reply with equal vehemence. "I will not be the last one alive here. I will not be the wimp who let two- TWO- people die under my -" I stop suddenly, then shut my eyes and lean against the doors, blowing out a breath as I try to relax. I was the only one who could work the techno, and that was a necessity. "You like her, don't you," I say, smiling slightly. "That's why you want to get her." My eyes open. "How long can you make it?"

Michael didn't speak for a moment after Sanaa's words. Her question about Mandi... well, that was complicated. For more reasons than one. He wasn't even sure he knew the answer to it.

He brought himself back to the matter at hand. "I can make it back to where she hid. But... she locked herself in. I don't know if she'll even be conscious by the time I get there... any ideas?"
