Saga of the Seven Sins - The Second Cycle

Man I haven't been getting updates for this lately, and I'm kinda upset about that now cause I'm really looking forward to this game.

EDIT: @Seeker of the End are you waiting on my backstory or is it something else?

Okay, take two:

Sleight of Mind (Miralai’s Folly)

Artefact 5, Attunement 8m, single Hearthstone setting

The paranoid No Moon Lunar who forged these gloves sought to steal the secrets of her enigmatic warden and thereby restore her lost memories. She successfully pilfered her secrets from its mind, committing suicide shortly thereafter, her morose guardian carrying her body out to the besieging Dragonblooded for a proper burial.

These beautiful gloves woven of Dreamsilk and Moonsilver can take on almost any shape and colour the wearer desires, blending in with any wardrobe. They grant supernal swiftness of the hands and a rippling dreamlike aura of Wyld energy to steal that most elusive and precious of possessions: thought. All Larceny rolls involving deftness of the hands and unarmed Martial Arts attacks gain the bearer’s Essence in bonus non-charm dice. The bearer may pilfer a memory, thought, or perception as a diaphanous strand of liquid moonsilver with a (Wits + Larceny) roll opposed by the target’s (Wits + Awareness or Integrity). If she wins, this social attack becomes Unexpected when applying the hits against the target’s DMDV, gaining three bonus successes if attempting to steal a surface thought or memory actively being recalled. If revealing this information would go against the target’s Motivation, they may treat this as an Unacceptable Order resisted at a cost of 1 willpower, preventing all further attempts to steal that information for the next week. If the target wins, they notice or resist the attempt and can react accordingly. If they can guess what memory she was attempting to steal, they may opt to attempt to craft a false memory, deceiving her with a successful opposed (Manipulation + Socialize) roll.

Upon striking an opponent with an unarmed martial arts attack which deals at least one die of post soak damage, she may reflexively make a (Larceny + Wits) attack against the target’s DMDV. She may negate any number of boxes of damage, temporarily reducing the target’s DMDV by one against this roll for each box negated. This effect is Obvious as the fabric of Creation seems to ripple and the character's strike passes into the target, becoming more dramatic the larger the number of damage boxes negated.

Once a strand has been stolen it immediately returns to the target unless she reflexively commits 4m. As a Shaping effect, this also strips the target of the thought, memory, or perception while it is being held. If the perception of the bearer or another combatant is stolen this counts as establishing surprise, but any action taken by a character so obscured against the target instantly returns the strand to the target's mind. Only perceptions of specific persons, places, or things, subject to ST approval, can be stolen (One can't steal perception of the West or Dragon-Blooded, but one could steal a specific doorway, a coin purse, or a specific person). A character may hold up to their Essence stolen strands. Resisting the shaping effect does not prevent the strand from being created, only the inability to recall it. Once copied, the strand can be modified with a miscellaneous Obvious (Larceny + Manipulation) action and subsequently reinserted in the same manner as the initial theft, treated as Unnatural Mental Influence generating either an Emotion or Illusion effect, as appropriate. A character must decide before an attack or Larceny action whether they will be placing or stealing a strand. Active attempts to recall something stolen - for example, being prompted to attend to an object or person the target can no longer perceive - or being confronted with evidence that a delusion is false grant the target a reflexive (Wits + Awareness) roll with a difficulty of her Essence/2 or the number of hits scored in creating the forgery, respectively, to notice that something is amiss. These delusions and Illusions can be resisted for a scene by spending a single point of willpower if the character has successfully recognized them as not her own, and end once the target has resisted for the bearer’s Essence scenes.

Not sure if these should be Social Attacks, but I'm also not sure what else to call them if they attack DMDV.

Well my character is up, I only have to add a few details for the backstory, and I think I have a few background dots to decide upon, but other than that I just need approval on a custom artifact, you'll find it under the panoply section. I must say, I wracked my head having only to choose 35 charms, also the no killing oath I had in mind for the character won't be happening after all, but it will still retain a merciful outlook towards enemies in general.

I have an anniversary party to go to at 5:00 pm EST tomorrow, so I won't be available for a while after that. If the game starts in that general area of time, feel free to meet up without me and I'll join when I can.

Hopefully not! Just giving a heads-up in case I'm not immediately available at start. I shall find you as soon as real life permits!

Don't worry. Darian will take good care of her! (} :) )
