Cry U 945
The Crimson Knight
Walls don't mean as much as they used to, especially when your enemies are inside and out. Grimm are getting stronger, and criminals more ruthless. Amidst political strife between the powers of Remnant, the ever growing army of the soulless Grimm, and those who want to see the world burn, can the Light still shine? Or will it be swallowed, drowned in the Rising Tide of Darkness?
Welcome to Rising Tide of Darkness!
This RP will focus upon the powers of Remnant, individuals amongst them, and how both affect the world. I've got a plot planned out, and I've designed it to be flexible to the point that one RPer's actions could change the whole course- in other words, yes, you may be the one to save the world- but only if it fits into the flow of things.
Major Elements-
Narration: I'll be narrating important character roles that don't get filled, making their decisions upon what they'd most likely do, and announcing major events that go with the ever-changing plot a multitude of ways. ( Mostly the news.)
Time Period:
This RP'll take place alongside RWBY in it's current state, which right now is the middle of the Vytal festival. We'll try and bring some elements of what happens in the show into the RP- say Cinder has men attack Amity Colosseum, or Roman escapes prison- If it fits where we are now and doesn't mess everything up, then we'll probably include it.
PvP:
Ah yes, the dreaded PvP where your character may lose their life. Here's how we'll do the PvP system.
-Actual Death of your character will not occur unless you confirm that you are ok with your character dying with me. This means that if your character is in a situation where they probably would've died, they'll be incapacitated for a short while, should you choose the safety net.
-In PvP, you describe your attack, not the effect. We'll leave it to the other person to describe it if they are hit. I'll have a bowl of slips on standby and make variables upon whether or not the attack hits, etc. However, if the attack may be the final blow it will always be 50/50, which means coin flip.
-These battle rules will be for PvP only. Against Grimm, I'll narrate their side and variables that occur. I'll also be setting the scene for any missions.
Missions: Your hunter or your team will be able to take on missions from assignment boards. What missions are available will be decided by drawn lots containing the following info- mission classification, name and difficulty rating.
-Mission ratings will be, from easiest to hardest, C-B-A.
-If a mission has the potential to be of major effect to the plot, it will have the rating S.
Character death in non-PvP:
Say things are bad for your team- your surrounded, no hope of survival, and so you do the heroic thing and sacrifice yourself- the same death rules for PvP apply.
You may use the safety net, but you don't have to.
Character Death in general: I know I'm speaking a lot about character death, but don't let that discourage you. Because character death is one of the biggest things that can happen to your character in any RP, any rules surrounding it need to be clearly defined. In all likelihood, we'll probably make it through this whole thing deathless.
-If your character does die, and you let them, then you may issue a will in a last post for that character, and your character will be placed upon the List of the Fallen.
Funeral details will be decided via OOC chat, assuming there is a funeral.
Rules:
1. No God-Modding. That's assumed, but I'll say it anyways. You control your character, not others.
2. Vulgarity is allowed sparingly. You're not Eminem and this isn't your mixtape, so go easy on it and use it only if the situation fits. If it gets too excessive I'll let you know.
3. Don't be OP Mary Sue. Just don't, please, for the love of god no. Have clearly defined weaknesses.
4. Arguments or insults can be used from one character to another, but if it get's out of hand or it seems like you're not just insulting the other person's character, I'll have to step in. Please don't make me do that.
5. No meta-gaming, fourth wall breaks, etc. In some RPs that works, but I can tell you ahead of time it won't in this one, due to the whole narration. In fact, this is probably the cardinal sin of the rule list, as if you do this you could mess up the whole RP for everybody, so DON'T DO IT.
6. If you have to be away for a certain amount of time for some reason, try to let us-or me- know. I know life can hit like a freight train- heck, I lost half of my stuff to a small house fire about a month ago. But try to communicate at least a little bit, or after two weeks of no contact, you'll be temporarily removed from the RP until you return.
And that's it for the overview! Ask any specific questions you may have in OOC chat, so everybody can see them, and if you really see fit to do so, you can message me for concerns on something.
