Ava nods "it's been a long time since my village was...Since I left my home. I wish I could go back to it but my life is here now and besides I'm not lucky enough to have my own horse yet, always meant to get one just found other ways to spend my gold" her hand finally retreats from Flake's soft feathers and she sits down "you armour is very interesting, I'm guessing you have climatised to the Southern heat have you? Seems I'm not the only ice user here though which is a huge relief"

@punkinblackk

Averel laughs a bit. "It's the only way I can handle this place wearing armor. Not sure how the rest of these people manage it by any means. It seems though, that a few of the people around here are slightly unsettled by the whole ice thing." She nods towards the wench. "I don't exactly blame them, though it's particularly amusing when I create a snow fall right around me. Did that in a desert once, and they almost made me a god or something." She shakes her head. "It was insane, and didn't help that I couldn't understand a word they said."

Ava chuckles "can't say I've ever done that but I once froze a lake over by accident. My ring uses moisture around it to create ice and I'd forgot to take it off while I went for a swim, before I knew it the lake was freezing over and the local fishermen didn't look too happy with me...People don't like magic users that much, it's either because they're jealous or they just see us as menaces"

"Pirate..."

                For a few minutes…Alex was paused somewhat back from the conversation with shoulders creeping up, a little unsure about the mixed signals. She had said to take the food upstairs…was it not for her since she remained down here? Shrugging somewhat, Alex turned and slipped up the stairs to the room that one would suppose a better natured individual would be worried about. What with a knight carrying an unconscious girl in. Alex however, just knocked lightly on the frame before stepping inside on silent feet to leave the not so steaming pie in the room. The overall manner of doing so was befit a servant with head tilted and touching nothing, although the green eyes did fix on the lovely ring the knight was wearing for just a moment. Then Alex was gone, going back downstairs to get the other part of the order, and possibly bring another pie? Who knows, the wench would do it anyway. If the tavern keeper complained…meh.

                Alex was just in time to catch something about traveling, the wench passing behind the group with one ear trained on them. Skipping a step to stop, the wench’s head tilted to the side. “Ah, please don’t misunderstand my…distaste. I do not mind magic at all so long as it isn’t be used to bind me. I just had the fortune of growing up ship bound in the tropics, where things like snow don’t exist.” Someone else raised a hand to order, Alex glancing at them before recalling that there was a second part to the knight’s request as well. “I will be back shortly with your drink.”

Ava smiles and nods "I'm not in any rush so take your time" Ava turns back to Averel and opens her mouth to speak before noticing something out the corner of her eye, a man she thought she recognised stood up from his table and left the tavern. For a second Ava freezes, trying to recall where she had seen him before. She shakes her head as she gives up trying to remember and turns to Alex "do you ever get sick of the staring and touching of the patrons here? I see everyone turning as you walk past or even trying to feel you up. If it were me they wouldn't have hands left to touch me with."

                 Alex had started to move off to retrieve the various orders when the knight called out. Glancing back, the wench’s head cocked to the side, making the flower crown cascade off the side. “I suppose not? It works well enough as a distraction, and anyone who reaches too far gets a nasty surprise anyway.” Whether that be a knife or one of the various other possibilities didn’t really matter. For anyone groping around all of them were unpleasant. Plus, while the idiots were drooling or whatever else, their wallets were getting lighter.

                The wench shrugged again, moving off behind the bar to order a pie, as well as to retrieve the drink. Not that there wasn’t a moment to pause, one hand reaching out to lightly touch the drunk elf at the bar just to see if he was still conscious. Given that warmth was coming up from the elf, he was at least still alive. “Not joining any of the conversations?” Tugging on one of the strands of pale hair as the pie was placed where Alex could grab it, the wench smiled. “They seem willing enough to talk to people, if they are striking up conversation with me.” The light touch disappeared so that Alex could take the orders back out.

Callum had inhaled the bread and cheese not remembering the last time he'd bothered eating.  Though a simple meal it had tasted like the finest quality food to his empty stomach.  He was just starting on his second drink when he felt the tug on his hair.  The wench was back, seemingly inviting him to join the conversation in the corner of the tavern.  As the wench took away another order Callum considered the individuals; an orc, a human, and an elf, all female.  This was almost enough to convince him not to join the conversation, almost.  However, the wench had been conversing with the trio previously and seemed to return to the spot frequently to chat despite the obvious distaste for the ice knight's frosted coating.

After weighing the pros and cons in his head for a while he grabbed his tankard and sauntered over to the empty seat near the three, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he walked.  Setting his drink down, he smiled at the women before introducing himself, "Excuse me for interrupting ladies, but it appears we may have something in common and the tavern wench seems to find you all agreeable.  My name is Callum."  He gave them all his best genteel smile as he slid into the seat, placing his hands almost protectively over his drink.

Ava looks at Callum as he 'inhales' his food and shakes her head. When he sits down next to her she laughs "you're new to the whole drinking think aren't you? You're supposed to eat before you start drinking. Stops you getting drunk as fast and it also makes it less likely that you won't vomit." Ava had learnt that lesson that lesson the hard way. Some men at a tavern in another town thought she was a knight with items worth stealing and so they kept giving her drinks until she was too drunk to think properly, they found some gold and had sauntered off leaving her incredibly drunk and feeling very ill "I'm glad that she finds me agreeable, even after killing three men and breaking a table"

Chandler wasn't sure who she should stay with. Ambrose was surely a kind man, but Chandler wasn't sure if she was ready to stay alone with a man once again, even if he's a knight. Ava seemed like a mystery to Chandler, but Chandler hasn't befriended a girl since she was much younger. She met the two that day, so that made it more complicated to make a decision. After a while, Ava claimed she was going downstairs to get a drink, leaving Chandler and Ambrose alone.

"She's very nice. I'm positive I know the reason why she felt magic coursing through the card," she lifts the tarot card up, flipping it over continuously. "The Nephilim can only be taken out with elven magic. It's quite fascinating, really."

Sir Ambrose Magus

Ambrose was being very patient more then normal today for Chandler. Truthfully he hoped that she would decide to come with him. More for selfish reasons but he just had this feeling that told him inside that he had to have her with him. That's all he could really think about in the moment. Not until he realize Ava was gone did he hear Chandler.

"Yes she seems to be a very good person from what I have seen," he said. "It almost seems like fate that she also came to help you today. Maybe we were suppose to become you guardian angels sent from Avaldir himself."

King Alteon Silver-blood

His majesty the king all the human territories had been feeling uneasy as of late. This due to the fact that the attacks on the cities and villages of his people and his allies, the elves, have become more frequent. Even with best warriors and mercenaries he could hire there has been no clear answer on how to stop these attacks or find out who is behind them. If it was for the fact that the young elf Queen Titania being able to commune with nature they wouldn't know when or where the attacks were happening before it was to late to save anyone. With four races at an uneasy peace it was hard to tell who might be behind this and what they were up to by attacking villages. Reports had been coming that no village is truly safe sense humans, elves, orcs, and dwarfs homes have been attacked. This all troubled him because if that is the case then there is only one group that might have something to gain from these attacks of mass destruction, The Cult of the Dark Lord. This being the possible truth weighed heavily on his heart. All he could think was , what do they wish to achieve from all of this. From the stories he heard as a child the Dark Lord had long been sealed away as to never case trouble again. So what was his followers trying to do when their leader is gone.

Rushing into the throne room was one of the soldiers in charge of relaying information between the king and the elves. He looked as if he had see a ghost ,  pale white with not enough air in his lung to utter a sentence let alone a word.

"Calm down soldier what is it that you have to tell me that is urgent enough to barge in the throne room in such a fashion," said the Alteon.

"M-my lord word has reached from Queen Titania. The Raider clan is on their way here to lay siege to everything and everyone," said the soldier.

"How large is there force."

"Ten thousand strong with at least half of them armed with magic weapons."

This was terrible news to hear. With a force that great they could wipe the city, castle, and its people off the map in a matter of ours. Time was of the essences to take action before all the people die and there is nothing left.

"Quickly go into town and inform the people of the attack so as to give them a chance to get somewhere safe and inform anyone capable of fighting they will be rewarded if they help defend the city. Hurry!!!"

The soldier rushed out without a word to answer his kings command. Alteon ran out to inform all troop commanders to get the troops ready for the attack praying to Avaldir the Dragon that they all can make it out alive.

The soldier ran down the main street screaming that the people of city needed to get to a safe place and to spread the world to everyone. He was exhausted but the task he was given was more important than resting. He reaches the local tavern that most warrior types like to go in town. He was so tired that while trying to get in he over did it and slammed the door hard entering. He was too tired to care if that made him Look weird his mission came first before any emotions he had about his appearance.

"Attention King Alteon Silver-blood has commanded in light of a eminent attack that will be made on the city that all citizens evacuate  to somewhere safe. Also that any warrior who stays will be rewarded for their help in defending the city."

Ellete had been half listening to the conversation the hum was having with the elf and, honestly, It bored her out of her skull. She couldn't find a place to interject or speak outright, so, she'd just been taking sips of the brandy. listening patiently for an in.

She was about to push her way into the talk, but then a solider type burst into the tavern. Yelling something or another about an invading army. Some non-sense like that. She wasn't too curious about the rewards he spoke of, though...

She looked at the women at her table, then the solider, back, and again, to the man.

"Ah, fuck it." She said, then taking a large swig heading to the door.

"Nothing better to do."

She put an arm on the solider man, at the entrance in a friendly manner.

"Ok boy!" She grinned.

"Where we going?"

Ava looks to the door and sees a man dressed in the King's colours, she listens to what he has to say before drawing her sword and resting the tip of her blade to the ground "I stand ready with my sword ready to slay those who wish to bring our King and his people to harm soldier. I have a friend who needs to hear this news." Ava sheathes her sword and quickly runs upstairs, she pushes past a few curious patrons and bursts through the door "Sir Ambrose, there's a soldier downstairs and he says there's an attack coming. We need to get Chandler to safety and prepare ourselves." She looks at Chandler and smiles, she didn't want any harm to come to the girl now. She'd only just been saved from one bad life and Ava was damned if she was going to let her go straight to another

Chandler smiles, gazing upon Ambrose. He looked so odd without his armor. Pushing aside the thought of his clothing, she looked at his facial appearance. He was quite attractive. His facial features showed the hardships he's gone through as a warrior. Chandler silently admired that. She could hear commotion downstairs, and outside, which took her from her thoughts. Chandler rises from the bed, walking over to the window. "Ambrose, there-" She was cut off when Ava burst in, informing them of an attack. Her eyes flickered to the card. A part of her longed to use it, and another part of her knew it wasn't time to use it yet. She walks over to the bed, picking up the card, and hiding it in her skirt.

"Pirate..."

                Alex had turned eyes to the screaming messenger when he appeared, eyes narrowing. At his message that the warriors were requested, the wench’s lips drew back into a snarl that displayed the elongated canines. Alex turned on one heel, reaching up to unclasp the collar that held the shirt so modestly closed. “Request my ass.” By that tattoo inked just over Alex’s heart, he got to answer any request as an order.

                “Oi! Tavern keep, I’m headed out. Don’t expect me back.” The collar came undone, the soft fabric falling back over the collar bones and revealing the very edge of ink that curled up across the shoulders. Elegant swirling dots of deep staining on one side and whispers of blue and black with a far lighter hand on the other.

                “Scared little la-AI!” The knife had flashed from seemingly nowhere, Alex burying it in the table, through the hand of the patron who had reached out to wrap an arm around the wench’s waist. Ignoring the scream, Alex stalked on towards the back, leaving the blade in full sight. One of the set of daggers with its intricately carved handle and hourglass sigil etched into the blade. The mark of the Gallowglass Pirates.

                It didn’t take long for Alex to return, looking no less pleased, and far more masculine in pants that looked to be in no small part made of leather, a shirt of soft deep red fabric that had lacing on the front although at the current moment it wasn’t done up. Leather and metallic straps crossed over the pirate’s back, the harness for the Dao swords strapped there, as well as a few other things that seemed to match the handful of items at the belt on Alex’s waist. The crown of flowers had been removed in favor of an eyepatch over one eye. A hand covered with a fingerless glove caught the hilt of the knife, yanking it out of flesh and table. “Let’s go.”

Pure bliss, that is what it felt like to him being with Chandler. With her he didn't feel the pressures of the title he was given. It was like being in a paradise that he never wanted to to leave. Well that paradise came and went as Ava came in the most distressing news that he had heard all week. An attack on this city was something unheard of, but if this was word from the king then he must take up his post and fight to defend the city. This made him think of Chandler's safety much more than he was before.

"Alright to the north there is a cave hidden in the forest that she should be safe to stay in until  we can finish off the invaders," he said strapping his armor and sword back on. "We need to move now while we have the chance."

"A cave you say? I'm positive I know where that is. Ava and I will go. Ambrose, I'm sure His Majesty will need you. We'll see you after the attack," Chandler says, looking between the two. At a younger age, when she'd have the chance to hide from her father, she'd run to the forest. She never understood why she did. The forest seemed deadly and horrific, but to Chandler, it was comforting. It was the slightest of escapes from her father. She found a cave while following a butterfly one day. She was sure the cave was vacant, free from any woodland creatures. It began raining that day, so she hid there. The cave was at least two miles away from the barn. "We'll need to find a horse to get there. It's further away from the town. Past the barn," She tells Ava.

Before the two girls can go, Chandler turns to face Ambrose, giving him a reassuring smile, and whispers, "Be careful." Quickly reaching up on the tips of her toes, she gives him a chaste kiss on the cheek, then turns away. Her cheeks glow a bright red, as she mutters, "Let's get going."

Ava looks to Ambrose "I'll take her. You're a knight, you'll be expected to show up. Don't keep them waiting Ambrose I'll look after Chandler and join you on the battlefield once I've made sure she's hidden" Ava wasn't one for arguing, she looks at Chandler and smiles "let's hurry, I'm sure our attackers will be here soon."

Chandler nods, her hand reaching down to grab Ava's hand. She rushes the two out of the room, not sparing a final glance at Ambrose. She's positive he'll be alright, and she won't have to worry about not seeing him again. The bottom floor of the tavern was absolute chaos. People were scurrying around, using the simplest of items that they can find as weapons. Still gripping onto Ava's hand, Chandlers leads the two down the stairs. "Where can we find horses?" Chandler asks her, making her way through the crowds.

Ava drags Chandler to the left and down a cobbled road making a sharp left down an alleyway, as they exit she points to the stables "there, I helped the stablemaster with a thief problem a while back, he might let me borrow a horse" she runs acroas the road to the stables with Chandler still in her grasp and talks to the stablemaster. After a few minutes Ava manages to wear the man down and he agrees to let her borrow a horse. Ava climbs onto the large creature and sits in the saddle and holds her hand out for Chandler to use to climb up "get on and hold tight, you'll be giving me directions"

@Elizabeth Duchamps

Sir Ambrose Magus

Ambrose was suited and ready to go into battle. With Ava taking care of Chandler he could focus on the task at hand. Heading down there were a lot of people who were scrambling around. Others that seemed like they wanted to stay and fight. It made him remember when he was just a hunter and I was asked to go help a village. Needless to say that is how he ended up becoming a knight. He didn't tale too much attention in the tavern beyond that though. Once outside he summoned Catastros and rode off to the city walls to see what the current situation and what the strategy for victory will be. Upon arrival he was directed to head for the commanders tent to receive his orders and see who he would be in charge of in this battle.

Ava nods her head and kicks the spurs into the horse, it rears and whinnies before shooting off down the streets. Ava could see people scrambling for safety and sighs before shouting over the wind "you know I hope this city survives the attack! I'm sick of raiders and their destructive ways!" the horse gallops through the city gates and quickly closes the gap between the city and the barn, after a few minutes the barn is in sight and Ava once again shouts "Okay! So where are we headed!?"

The ride up to the barn was filled with small talk between Ava and Chandler. Chandler doesn't like small talk, as she believes why waste time trying to talk to someone when you clearly have nothing to talk about? However, the small talk got both of their minds of the attack. Once they reached the barn, Chandler pointed at the stream by the structure. "Follow that river. I'll tell you when we need to change directions," she instructs.

@Katie Jensen

Ava nods and changes directions, following the river now. She hoped she could get Chandler to safety soon, she wanted to be back in the city read to help repel the attack but it was obvious Ambrose had some form of fascination with Chandler, be it love or just a slight curiosity but Ava wanted to make sure that Chandler survived for Ambrose and so that she could experience a normal life rather than a life filled with hatred and abuse
