We have since turned this base to our own needs. But this is not the time or place to discuss such things. Why don’t we have you get a good hot meal and a chance to get cleaned up? It will take a day or two to make the final preparations for your trip across the Atlantic, giving you some time to relax safety. Rab, why don’t you show our guests where they can get cleaned up before they break bread with us?”

Rab nods. “Of course, Father. My friends, please come with me. I’ll show you around.” He slips his arm over Oleg’s shoulder and leads the tired young man towards one of the doors leading into the heart of the underwater base.

Sorry if this sounds too negative - I'm having to see all of this through Snowfall's eyes and when you're a prey animal, suspicion often equals survival! He doesn't really think Oleg's people are fiends or anything. Just to clear that up. =)

This level is where the motor pool is, and it has a security station with several suits of powered armor that are manned and ready to defend the place from any intruders.

Psychie Is it power armor or mecha guarding this place (or both)? I thought there were full-ready mecha here?

The larger motor pool has a pair of large mechs, but there are also smaller suits, too.

Meandering wherever his feet will take him, he opens his senses to the supernatural - specifically magic which all Kitsune can detect within a short range as easily as a normal human might hear or see. Humans as a whole were not inherently sorcerous creatures - might there be something down here that they might have missed that a Kitsune of Inari might find?

Oh, without a doubt! Psychie and I worked it out that Snowfall watched the Skelebot battle, therefore he witnessed Xinyi not only casting, but changing the very nature of the spell as she did so. He feels they are fellow creatures in magic, but he won't be checking Xinyi out any further, not because he isn't curious, but out of respect. "Xinyi is magical and that is enough," thinks Snowfall. =)
