Awesome, any particular house rules I should know about? I think briefly saw true atlantean, so assuming its high powered in general?
Yes. Everyone is an MDC being naturally. If you want to be a "normal" human, you can have some augmentation on your character to boost you up a bit to keep you in line with the rest of the party. As it stands right now, the group has recently escaped from captivity in Atlantis thanks to Dannigan's character, Dreamy. You'll be getting offered up a job to help pay your bills and get your characters to the eventual campaign location of Western Europe.

Alright thanks, I'll think of a character and come post about it later, sounds like a fun a start

Alchemist indeed!

Think going to do a Lemurian Gene-Mage, I believe it should be in the same range of power as most of the party, as far as I can tell and has enough connection with the Atlantis region.

Let see how that goes. Ignore the 3rd dice on the first roll. Rerolled 1s (from what I saw of earlier in the thread)

So Lemurian attributes:

IQ 15, ME 19, MA 20, PS 19, PP 18, PE 17, PB 19, Spd 25

PPE 131

Minor Psychics (Like most Lemurians)

ISP 32

This will be my first time with a Lemurian in the party. I don't own the World Book for Lemurians so my knowledge of them is limited. But hey! If they're here to take down supernatural evil much in the same manner as most True Atlanteans are? I welcome the character with open arms! =)

I know even less of Star Elves, but the Knights of the White Rose? Well hey, it's pretty hard to go wrong there. Add an Atlantean Cyber-Knight and a Sylvie and I think we've got something good here - something hopefully long-term!

Oh, definitely Lemurians are good guys in general, and share an ancestry with the True Atlanteans, they show great trust to each other.

Do they? Always good to hear. I'm also glad to see a race that can be played equally well on land or under the ocean (in so many games, it so often seems you can have one or the other, but not here in Palladium! Hooray for Palladium)!

Are there certain Atlantean houses get along well with or is it a general great trust of all of them in general? What about Lemurians and Star Elves or freed Altaran Blind Warrior Women (of good Alignment)? Heh!

In general, no particular house from what I recall and with them spending most of their time underwater/coast limit their interactions with certain factions like Altaran Blind Warrior Women or UWW (not many Lemurians in space).

Psychie Psychie Just what do we know about this Jake Turner fiend? How might we turn the tables on this jerk? If we know nothing, we might put that ahead of any other plans.

It's one thing for this town-ruling lowlife to ruin our lives, but it really is something else (at least to Dreamy) when he's clearly dominating others, you know?

Now, why aren't there more Lemurians in space? I mean, the sea and space aren't that different, are they?

Wait. Come to think of it, there's no gravity in space, no hydrogen, no oxygen, and without those two that means there's no... H2O! That's probably why there's a big lack of sea-life in space, right? That is, unless you're a fan of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and you like the dolphins like I do. =)

Jake Turner made his fortune by accident, by stumbling onto a long-forgotten pre-Rifts armory full of weapons, powered armor, and vehicles. He sold some to get a working supply of cash, and used some of that to hire on a bunch of seedy mercenaries that he has equipped with a bunch of powerful weapons that he's used to run the town and help to maintain his control. He still dips into this secret armory on occasion to reward a valued member in his employ, or to sell on the black market to get more cash.

So... this greasy goon is a lucky self-made baron of the town who keeps people under his heels by way of bullying and the like? I feel like our entire team are a bunch of dummies for falling for whatever trick he pulled to make us the newest of people... under his heels! Is this not the very kind of despot people like us should be taking down? Or am I reading too much into this?

Folks? Opinions, please?

Psychie Psychie do we know what number(s) of minions that he has in his employ, what kind of people he's hired, and what kind of equipment he has given them?

He has 50-60 people working as his 'police force' in the town, spending much of their time on dinosaur hunts to keep the big reptiles away from the city wall. You don't have exact details on just how many without doing a bit of snooping. As far as gear, you've seen that most of the minions are packing old but effective energy rifles and environmental MDC combat armor, with a small group of guards on call at the local jail with a half dozen suits of powered armor. The people he's got working for him run the gambit of alignments, but over 50% of them fall into the Selfish alignments, and a few in the Miscreant and Aberrant alignments.

That's telling.

Are there any foreseeable outcomes if Jake Turner were taken out of the picture (run off, given a change of heart, etc.)? Would the town be able to manage without he and his forces or would this open them all up to becoming dino-snacks? Or might something else happen entirely that we can reasonably foresee?

If given the chance to protect themselves, it is possible that the townspeople will be able to step up and use the weapons that the current thugs have to protect themselves. The more advanced stuff, like the powered armor, will take a bit of effort to get the new owners up to speed, but most rifles and pistols can be used without too much difficulty.

It might be possible to organize a resistance movement to aid us, because the few of us would be sorely outnumbered even by half the number of grunts that are here.

Folks, I'm seeing less and less of a problem taking this Jake Turner down, one way or the other. You?

Ah, perhaps at first glance, old buddy. Take a closer look at what Psychie has provided us just this evening:

He has 50-60 people working as his 'police force' in the town, spending much of their time on dinosaur hunts to keep the big reptiles away from the city wall.
a small group of guards on call at the local jail with a half dozen suits of powered armor.

You really don't see any opportunities in here whatsoever? =)

Possibilities, yes. We are, however, not at 100% ourselves unless we can take steps to resolve this.

Oh, most definitely! There are so many unknowns at this stage of the game:

1. How long have we run together?
2. What do our teammates know about each other?
3. How long have we been in this (as far as I know) nameless town (which I'm calling "Turner Town" until we hear differently from Psychie)?

And these are just the tips of the Floridian icebergs. =)

1. The group has known each other for about eight months, from just before the successful escape from Atlantis to now.
2. You have spent long enough together that unless you have tried to keep some detail hidden from one another, you have a good idea of what you are all capable of and the various personality quirks that define a person.
3. You have been in Turner Town (I like the name; make it so!) for a month.

I will get something out tomorrow no problem. I still need to get him some gear too.

Let see some more rolls to do.
