I recall asking and perhaps answering this very question months ago in this very thread. But darned if I remember the answer. I think the answer is yes, but I also don't remember the amount of points recovered. I believe it's in the Rifts main book but I don't have it in front of me.

I double checked in the core book and from what I'm seeing, there is no increase in PPE recovery at a ley line or nexus point. I am not sure I like that, though. I may house rule something to boost that.

That doesn't sound right. I remember nexus points being reservoirs of magical and psychic energy and that psychics and magic-users could draw from them. Unless I am remembering from a previous edition?

Now I really wish I had my books in front of me!

I am thinking that in the older edition, there were rules for recovery of PPE being boosted at the Ley Lines, but I don't remember.

Without having to dig through 150 pages of posts, I will go ahead and let our spellcasters recover double their normal PPE on a Ley Line, and triple on a Nexus point.

They increase the amount of energy you can use each melee round (10 on a ley line, 20 on a nexus - double that if you are a ley line walker), but I don't see anything about recovery.

It's possibly a house rule of my own when I ran my own Rifts campaigns over 10 years ago (these things happen with brains like mine). I remember thinking that if magical and psychic energies were water and Ley lines and Nexus points were rivers and waterfalls, then why could you not pour some into yourself and regain your energy faster?

Sherwood, I don't remember the math of my own house rule of the day, but I think your solution and mine are much alike. =)

Perhaps Snowfall's Chi-atsu can cure that?

As for keeping the fortress, studying it for our use, then fighting vampires, I like the idea! Along the way, Snowy can meditate on his fourth form (anthropomorphic fox) with the intent of making it a reality. A fox should have goals to help him climb higher in life!

Maybe it would! Daisy will finally be popping out of her glitterboy for dog boy reveal, for whata that worth.

That would be an interesting scene for roleplaying, to say the least.

Sherwood Sherwood I understand Snowfall knows what a Dog Boy is, but how much does he know about their psychic abilities? Might he know why Daisy is feeling the way she is?

If you are familiar with Dog Boys, you would know that the Coalition uses them to hunt down psychics and magical creatures, so you would know that they are sensitive to magic. It is not a far leap to figure out what might be bothering her.

I actually don't have meditate - could've sworn I had it, but apparently not. So I'll spend 36 ISP in total, that requires 12 hours. Any more time I'm given, I'll replenish some ISP for the tasks ahead. Just let me know how much time we actally have so I can do the numbers.

Sherwood Sherwood What solutions would you recommend to this? If this remains as it is, we will be waiting in game for long times for Shaona to get her psychic powers recharged. Here are a couple of ideas:

1. Since Shaona is a techno-wizard and a psychic, would it be feasible to say that she regains both magical and psychic energy when she meditates as a techno-wizard? This would save a great deal of downtime if you want that.
2. If, instead of meditating as a class ability, you require that she uses the meditation skill, could a recent skill Sil selected be swapped out in place of it?
2a. If the above is true, my character will have to do the same because he doesn't have the meditation skill either (given what he is I didn't think he needed it).

Thoughts?

Comparing with the psychic classes, those come with a meditation for isp if I'm not mistaken - tw's as minor psychic characters don't have that benefit, and I wouldn't necessarily want to grab it for free. Could one build a techno-wizard device that helps with that, perhaps? If so, the mechanoids might be a great source to actually get insights into that, since they're both tech-savvy and psychic. That wouldn't solve the problem right away, but it'd give an out at some point.

Note that I'm mostly in trouble since I was allowed to pick up further psychic abilities - the usual technowizard skills never got me anywhere close to the limits.

Just an observation - if the solution comes in the form of an item like Sil described, then I feel we may encounter a potential in-game problem as other people in the Rifts world could learn that we have these special devices that can do what nothing else can.

If I were the Coalition or the Federation of Magic, I might want something done about them. For us, that might mean fun or might mean one hell of a headache.

If instead the solution turns out to be a house rule, then no one in-game knows the wiser.

Both roads have their benefits. =)

I am thinking that forcing a psychic character that does not start with Meditation as a power to use one of their powers to gain that seems to be a steep cost. Since the other psychic OCC/RCCs get it, I will go ahead and grant Silanon Silanon and Purr Purr the Meditation power for free to be able to recover your ISP faster.

Oh! Cool! Thanks, Sherwood! Snowfall does not use I.S.P., but Chi (some GMs interchange the two while others keep them separate).

I don't mean to sound all "gimme, gimme" here; this is a straight-up preference question - do you want to allow meditation to recover P.P.E and I.S.P. at the same time or separately? If the latter, some of us will spend, if we're near-empty, 20+ hours meditating and that does not include the recharging of P.P.E. batteries and the like. If that's the way you'd like it, then cool! But I'd like to know your preference?

While meditating, you'll recover both your ISP/Chi and PPE at the same time. No need to double up on it.

Excellent! That'll improve our recovery times by a great deal! Thanks! =)

What is everyone doing during all this time? Where will you be during this spell?

If Daisy's headache has been conquered,
Snowfall is "telling" me he has been bitten by the curiosity bug. After dining on hus favorite foods, he would like to use his Sustain tattoo power to only sleep 2 hours a night and spend all that time searching all over the Fortress for unusual things to share with the others.

Such a search involves all of his natural powers and his All-Seeing Helm. Is that all right? If so, what does he discover?

Concerning where we are, I would like Snowfall to be with Terra and Shaona (the people he presumes are the captain and the pilot of the ship as it were).

My apologies for being unable to post in a timely manner today.

But, so long as the ritual is going on, and with her headache helped. Daisy would try to sleep through it, unless someone needs her or she needs to be on standby for the travel to take place.

Purr Purr

Does Snowfall have any kind of telemechanics powers? Getting around the place will be much harder on you if you don't.
