Revolt of the Outer Rim - Out of Character

You're in shuttle, so you have access to the intra-ship. Unless you overheard the conversation, you won't know the channel.
Alright thanks, don't want to accidently end up metagaming heh.

<laughs> No problem. You kind of limited your chances to overhear anything with the constant music in your helmet, but its quirks like that that make characters interesting. (^U^)

let's say that Secure 9 is the usual channel we use for situations like these shall we?

That would make us a little too predictable to our enemies. Since you'll need to synch your helmet with the shuttle's gun system, you could notice the encrypted channel in use, and since you're inside the shuttle, the comm unit would provide you with the encryption key if you asked for it, giving you access to the secure channel. I'm pretty much putting pc's on par with officers and higher ranked NCO's, which would allow them higher security access. After all, we wouldn't want just any grunt yelling over our sniper's comm channel. That could lead to...BAD THINGS happening.

Hmm. I just realized, Arven hasn't secured the weapons system, so technically you can access the entire weapons loadout through your helmet. Two 20mm autocannon units, one port, and one starboard by the boarding hatches (These are currently under local control). One 50mm gauss cannon, mounted spinally just under the troop compartment (currently not charged), and two breacher missiles, designed to blow holes in ship armor for boarding parties to sally through.

Bloody hell, sounds like I'll be having a field day with these weapons. I'll get writing up a post and see what happens from there.

I'll try not to scratch anything haha. We'll see who shoots who first :)

Sure but I like a surprise hehe

Hey all, thinking about adding a plot twist to the whole story. The good thing is that we're somewhat picking up speed in terms of posting which is good. I'm thinking about having someone who Jonathan's been looking for nearly his entire life. Meaning that he "could" end up temporally betraying his crew in order to find the person he's looking for.

What do you think?

Sure. I was going to do the entire in one post, then emergency run to the corvette for liftoff. I can still write the encounter, then folks can do reactions while we lift. Are we going to encounter in space or on the moon?

Sure sounds good and I'd imagine in space

@ToolorDie at what time did you plan to attack us?

Got a bunch of exams today but then I should have the majority of the weekend. Just to give myself some wiggle room, I'll say I will post Saturday at the very latest, more likely I will post tmrw. It will be fairly lengthy, as there is a lot to cover. I've been keeping up with the posts, but just for clarity (if we are not going to do another time jump) I'd like to know exactly where everyone is - correct this if I'm wrong please.

@Archie @Wandering Hollow @Nerdork - you three are about to drop to the surface from a shuttle

@Elephantom @Coward - On the surface (well maybe even below it) and you guys just burst into the AA facility I think?

@Tarmagon @Misuteri Kenshi - You two are the only players still actually on the Basilisk

@Deadkool - powered down somewhere like a jerk face

Me - On Incirlik about to make contact with the rest of you.

Is any of this wrong? Is someone on this list somewhere other than I am under the impression they are at?

If we decide to do a time change, then I want to be sure again of each characters location.

All that in consideration, thank you for being patient guys. I wanted to let everyone else get a round of posts in before I did but I promise to deliver a good product for your wait. Looks like the antagonist role is going to fall on my character, ironically, so I wanna make this a fun challenge for everyone.

Couple of corrections needed there. @Archie and @Wandering Hollow are about to drop. @Nerdork is acting as their drop master. @Tarmagon is currently piloting the shuttle they are jumping from. @Misuteri Kenshi is acting as a gunner on the shuttle they are dropping from. No PC's are aboard the Basilisk. All PC's from the shuttle will be heading to the corvette Megarea, arriving after a short time skip. The Basilisk is still in port, preparing to lift. The Meg will be lifting just before the Basilisk to provide scout support. All PC's should be aboard when she lifts. The exception I do not know about is @Deadkool , whom I have not seen a post from in quite a while.

Oh wow ok thanks for the clarification Tarm.

So looks like we're all agreed for a small time jump with the thick of the action being just somewhere within the planets orbit, perhaps further into space?
That's alright with me. I'll be working on my plot twist in the mean time. It will be easy to understand but the relationship is quite complex.

Yup. At least that's the way I figured it would go. I imagined that once we get the Meg into space (that will be a small time skip ahead in my next major post.. Tonight or tomorrow afternoon at the latest.) and start scouting for a safe path for the Basilisk the odds that we encounter the Incirlik are fairly high. The only thing I'm not sure about is how the two currently destroying the AA capability on Dyrashir are going to get to the Incirlik, but that's an issue for the bloody tyrants currently conducting a general planetary (moonetary? Who knows..)bombing of Dyrashir back into the stone age while trying to maximize civilian casualties to figure out. Of course, you're not doing the bombing, but you are working for the man who ordered it.

Right, which is why this is such a fun position. Rzaya is last person I imagined being a captain. Much less for this kind of mission. But with so few UCM players I'm trying to add some internal conflicts into her character so this story has an antagonist.

From her standpoint, she would abandon this mission to conduct a recovery of the commandos, which is a possible outcome. There is a delicate balance to consider in the next posts haha

ok, just got a lil easy one written up to keep things going. Just something to ease the transition of getting Rzaya in touch with the UCM guys at the AA place so my last post is not the epic one

Ahhh cool cool. So we ditch the AA mission

@ToolorDie, @Elephantom? Or get most of the way there and then beat a very angry, explosion - filled retreat. Our guys just shot the first mook, so there's no unkicking that nest xD

Lots of possibilities, keep in mind there will still be a time change. Could just as well jump to the AA being taken over and use radio to reach HQ, find out you have new objectives

@Archie could we clean up the character sheet sign up area from people we're positive aren't still in the RP?
