Revolt of the Outer Rim - Out of Character

I think, we should just wait for the system to finish its updating thingy.

At least they fixed the loading issue.

@Wandering Hollow

I've only flown coach too.

@Elephantom

I got an email from the site saying the load time was fixed. While I have noticed less of a wait, it still doesn't seem on par with the old layout. Could be my imagination though. Any thoughts on what our 3 person crew may have gone through during the time pass?

The loading is ok for me, I mean not gloriously fast but.

This was kind of a suicide mission, so I'd be surprised if our dudes were completely unscathed. You can assume Van has some minor wounds and such. Um otherwise that's a fairly long time. Maybe the shuttle got a little messed up flying away from our gigantic novelty explosion?

There was also some talk of a VIP prisoner, but we can safely ignore that if it's too much effort. Might be kind of funny to have some bigshot handcuffed in the trunk though.

It would be way too far-fetched if both Thomas and Van got away from a high-risk mission with minimal injuries. They're bound to suffer some moderate damage. With the exception of that, we can ignore the hostage situation, as coward suggested, although it could make up for some brief humour, or so I suppose.

Almost finished with my post.

I'll have to make it a bit vague, to ensure flexibility, as I'm rather confused of our current situation. I assume our characters are in the boardroom, no?

Dammit. Ok, if you're like me and write in blocks during the day from multiple locations, beware. The new system looks like it's saving a draft, but it's not. It's only saving it to your browser's cookies, so if you try to finish your post from another machine, like I did, you're screwed. Post delayed until sometime tomorrow while I try to remember an hours worth of writing. Sorry guys and gals.

Take your time, Capt!

Errm our characters are, afaik, still on the shuttle @Elephantom, and the ensign isn't actually in the room with them he's just over comms ^_^''' sorry mate. Nor do I think he's in command of this mission but just briefing it...? @Archie@ToolorDie.

But we could easily just flip to your version of events, let me know what you guys want to do. Ship might be better anyway, move things along.

Archie mentioned that the trio, us, were paged on vessel 12 atop Dryashir. Chalabi also put Kirk in charge of the whole mission. I might also be misunderstanding things, but Archie didn't mention any comms, and even then, it would seem ridiculous directly sending a ship to another mission without proper debriefing.

@Coward

Do we really want to sit through a debriefing though? Can we just time-skip it?

Ah maybe, I don't know if I'm reading this right. I don't want to be that jerk but now I'm confused.

"aboard their vessel in section 12 of Dyrashir's blasted surface " That is, the shuttle's on the ground and the guys are in it? I think? Otherwise we'd be in the ship in orbit over section 12, and presumably there'd be more than 3 people aboard. Also I think that ship had a name and class, not that I can remember it.

" I still don't know where everything is..." the voice continued."

Through the whole post there's no mention of the kid's physical presence, it's all voice this voice that, and there's an earlier mention of comms. " Open the radio comms to all top-class performers in the last battle! "

edit: probably easiest just to roll with yours though, whether or not it turned out to be what Archie intended.

Vessel twelve was the shuttle's name? Doh.

Things are real confusing right now, but why wouldn't the shuttle return back to the main vessel? I mean, isn't it rather weird to debrief someone using radio comms, and while they haven't still recovered properly in the previous battle? And the planet surface was heavily bombarded with antimatter weaponry, this should render anything on the whole area it was directed to be completely burnt, isn't that why we were hurrying?

I think this is a thing that Archie should simplify right now.

But other than that, on a general platform, I think time-skipping right to the main vessel, and debriefing, should shorten the time needed to clarify the whole situation.

I think (and I could be wrong lol) that 12 is the area of planet where the shuttle is parked, but it could also mean that they're leaving now, or maybe that they're in the main ship which is in geostat orbit over section 12. I am just stuck on the word surface.

And yeah definitely the shuttle would return, but I think Archie was giving us the chance to do that ourselves...? So our characters could meet maybe? I don't know, better just to ask.

And yeah cool with me if you guys want to do that.  Or maybe we can just make it so that this interaction with the kid lieutenant happened post-debriefing and aboard the main ship the way @Elephantom read it, and go from there?

Sorry guys. It's not the post I had originally envisioned, but I hope its not too disappointing. It's been a hard week, and I don't think it would be fair for me to slow things down trying to compose an ideal post. Wish me luck in passing this damned kidney stone eh?

No problemo, Capt. I'm planning on having Kamille being too mentally and physically drained to make jokes anyway. That and her feeling down over her inability to save a shuttle during the battle.

Thanks. I think I left it open enough to allow everyone a chance to select a role they'd like. I'm sorry if I chose wrong for Johnathan and Laney,  but we can call it an emergency expedient and slot you two into whatever role you want to fill. Please feel free to fill in any gaps you think I left in the time line.

Sorry for the lateness of my reply, I've had a busy week. I have a post in progress, I'm still confused my the new layout. Is it just me or is there no longer different font types?

And @Tarmagon, Laney's position is fine, all that I was really envisioning for her was doing whatever needed doing, so it works perfectly.

Wow, we must have someone important hiding on board,  or else we've really managed to piss someone off.  At least we don't have a destroy with extreme prejudice order out on us.... yet.

Well, lets hope that there isn't a traitor on board...that would make things interesting.

Is it possible to get more people on board for the rp or are we too far ahead for that?

Talk to @Archie, but I don't see why not. The Meg's packed to the gills with civilians, so I imagine we'd be able to recruit some replacement crew from the lot. And our pursuers have tons of crew that haven't been given names or faces.

Sorry posting took a while. I was busy, but that had very little to do with it. I just didn't have time to figure out what happened, I am really confused. So Rzaya did get her commandos or not?

Closing the gap between all our characters should have been done by now, why are me, @Coward and @Elephantom somehow in a board room now? I don't even know if Rzaya would be in there she'd have no business doing that. I'll try to get a post going today or tomorrow but not until we have a clear direction to head towards.
