How long would it take for a trainer like him to die in this universe?

Don't forget he's kinda wierd himself, guy can lift a lavitar like it's nothing.

Ash's strength has been inconsistent as hell, I blame the fact he witnessed Ho oh in the first episode.

Really? Why?

One. Kanghaskan are notoriously protective of any offspring or anything considered their family in this universe. Most trainers of Kangashkan are sons or daughters to them.

Two. They're insanely powerful. For one, they can rip apart a Nidoking and Vigoroth like swiss-cheese with their strength and have ridiculous consitution.

I'd argue a Nidoking could likely be somewhat of a fair match, While I think nidoqueen is the tankier of the two it still has good beef on it.

I'd imagine it'd be one hell of a fight to see though, almost as thrilling as a medapod fight.

Edit: seems Kangaskhan has over all higher stats, topping nidoking in health by over 24 points, the rest kangaskhan also wins, save for in sp atk but... who uses a sp attacker nidoking? Hron drill and a higher move pool could help it, it has poison and earth based attacks as well...

hmm....

Actually, special attacking nidoking is surprisingly common with people who use the pokemon competitively. It's ability (sheer force) and movepool in game actually make it an okay special attacker. However, none of that would really apply in this case since we dont have movesets, so Kangaskhan would most likely win.

Depending on the battle fo course, should the Kanga have the upper hand, yea, brute force will win.

Nidoking could get a good poisoning off at the start it could very well win through weakening the kanga...

Issue with "realism" in pokemon, some just don't stand a chance when normally they would... Like how would you explain mega drain?

had the thought of how expensive it would be to feed an argon, but then I remember all the bloody ruin out there...

I could only imagine how expensive feeding a Sableye would be. Seeing as it eats gems, that would really drain one's wallet xD

There's also Genetically modified mon in this verse, remember that.

Read through the world-building doc. +1 for including the Orre region (among other things).

I'm interested, but I can't help but notice... Even with all this occupation definition, historical description, and overall world-building majesty, I don't see a plot presented. As characters can (supposedly) come from many different places with many different occupations, I must ask what circumstances characters will be forced into to be brought together or, failing that, what limitations will be placed on our characters to have all (or at least most) of them start off close enough that they won't just be interacting with NPCs for 10+ posts?

Thank god, some valid criticism for once and you read the OP of this thread which specifically says it's meant to be ! I keep asking people for any improvements I could make. I'mma give you a seal of approval for your questions.

Answer: /refracted mirror's/ plot is in the works and is in conception at the moment. I'm only just begining today after the end of a long ass school term as of now, I'm on break and can afford to do this.  /refracted mirror's/ setting has been used as a test bed for multiple RPs that I have ran over the course of two months on this site ( Sight of Serendipty, Pallet Blues, Callsign: Cossack Eight.) I believe Sight of Serendiptiy and Callsign: Cossack Eight have been the most successful and focused out of all of them. Pallet Blues was an attempt on a large, massive scale, RP that took place in Pallet Town with 8 or more RPers. I'm generally wary of large group RPs but you can't judge a cover of a book till you read it.

My plan with each of these RPs is to focus on one side of the Pokemon World. Sight of Serendipity was trying to go fro the deep, dark underbelly political thriller sort of deal and dealign with everyday life. Pallet Blues was an expansion and exploration of the daily lives of everyone in this verse. Callsign: Cossack Eight, at the moment, is a exploration of the Ranger Corps in this verse. /refracted mirror/ like all of these other RPs, is going to focus on one aspect of this verse. Which will potentially be the Pokemon Trainer aspect of it and how people training monsters to beat the shit out of each other works.

A hosted RP project that inspired me was Pokemon: Falling Skies, another RP on this site. I'm trying not to go the route of heavy NPC-laden territory and try to stick to more slick and focused RP but that won't happen unless I have a viable plot up and running. Which I am trying. At the moment.

There will be some circumstances and some limitations. Primarily, this RP will take place in Kanto. Second of all, NPCs will be there to move the plot along when necessary. Third of all, almost all of the RPers will be trainers to a degree.

Thanks for asking questions. If you have anymore, please feel free to ask.

-raises hand- Question?!!?!?!?

Will everyone be starting as Novice Rank or will everyone have a choice or what

But Wait ... There's more!

Besides the obvious solution of you telling us everytime we want to know, because that wouldn't be very beneficial to anyone really, how will we know which level each pokemon is on?

(IE How many Pit Points they cost, What level Delta they are, etc)

Also, I just want to say that the Captions for the photos are priceless. (Especially the abandoned truck one XD)

Everyone will be starting on a Novice Rank. Keep in mind that it takes two Gym Badges to reach Intermediate Rank. This means you can have beaten one Gym Leader.

I don't have time to go through the Delta System but basically, it goes like this.

Delta One is for Ratata, Baby Pokemon, Starter Pokemon and so forth level. Delta Two is for Beedrill or Second Evolution level and most Third Evolution Levels. Delta 3 is for Nidoking level and most third evolution levels. Delta 4 involves Rhyperior level and other Third Evolution Levels. Delta 5 is for Pokemon that are mostly third evolutions or in the games, have a Base Stat Total of 600, and are psuedo legendary.

Hello. Update for everyone who's still following this. The hosted project will be up and running soon as the board makes the switch to Xenforo.

The plot and circumstances that guide us together are at a conceptual meeting point now. Let's just say it's something to do with the date of the OP of this thread.

And as for @Anime King Kaleb , I've made a decision. You are allowed any rank with the exception of Gym Leader (for obvious reasons.). I'm giving more freedom to you, people, though, if you are a Championship Trainer, you better make it damn clear why you are one in the first place.

Meanwhile, I have made a skeleton of a Character File for you to start making your character and all that jazz. This Character File is still up for editation so be warned, it may come under change. Don't put your character in this thread, though. The hosted project will be a place where you can do that.

OFFICIAL INDIGO REGIONAL GOVERNMENT POKEMON LEAGUE TRAINER REGISTRY FILE DOCUMENT

PKMN Trainer Name: (The name of your persona or your character. Fairly straightforward as it goes. Keep in mind this doesn't have to be the real name of your character since the Indigo League allows any name for your trainer card.)

Gender: (Fairly straightforward as it goes. And yes, you can be gender-fluid, bisexual, transgender etc etc as long as it's not your only defining main character trait.)

Birth Date: (Keep in mind the current year the RP is taking place in is 1557 N.B)

Nationality: (Basically, the region you came from is your nationality.)

Licensing Location: (Where you registered for your Trainer's license and so forth.)

Again, no need for faceclaims. You can have faceclaims and theme music if you want to.

I'll never tell

XD

Can we have multiple characters? I might make two, depending on how I feel about making the one

Yes. You can have multiple characters.

Ah, shit. All these Tumblr Terms have been cloggin' up me mind!

Okay! - Thumbs Up-

Same. I actually had to think about it for 5 minutes before being sure that bisexual wasn't a gender

Also, since there are no moves in this universe, when we battle are we basically just utilizing the full potential of a pokemon as in anything they can do they can do

Are we allowed to have 15 year old Championship Rank Trainers aka Dark Pokemon Prodigies

I have a backstory for him and all that if it's okay

Also I apologize as I'm just a mess right now ...

Well, yes, but there's still technically moves in this universe. Psions have the largest move range closest to the games in this universe since they can manipulate just about anything.

If you feed a grass type something, there's a chance they'll pick up something new.

Essentially, moves are their capabilities and so forth.

Nothing ridiculous like a Raichu learning to do earthquake.

Are we allowed to have 15 year old Championship Rank Trainers aka Dark Pokemon Prodigies

You better be prepared to make him interesting and well thought-out.
