Fantasy Red Hood Society

Marius threw his arms back protectively at the sound of the deafening roar and trees being broken. "Run! We've got to get out of here!" He urged them to get moving. It was impossible to tell what it was but there was no way in Hell he wanted to find out. "Find somewhere, anywhere safe and hide there as long as you can! I won't be far behind you."

And as if by magic, the lizard's wound miraculously evaporated. Funny, how just a second ago his arm was broken, his head concussed, perhaps he even had a deadly disease that would've cured him. But the creature simply springing into the forest only set the record straight that the man was alone. But as the lizard made his journey away, Honus made no instinct to follow suit. He was supposed to, but he didn't. "I hope he suffers when he dies," the Hood said under his breath coldly, heading away. Whatever stupid tea party at this hour the dragon had to go to, it was less problematic for the hunter.

While the monstrous beast was charging towards his prey, Clovis suddenly smells the scent of raw flesh to his left. Confused by this, the monster momentarily stops his charge before looking around his surroundings. And as he was scanning his surroundings, Clovis hears one of the wolves ahead of him shout something about running away. Not wanting to lose his prey, Clovis instantly stops his search and continues his charge." You will not escape me!"

With a flourish, Red hopped down from her tree branch and landed as a large, russet-colored wolf beside Marius. She flashed a wolfish grin. "Need some help?" She radiated power, muscles rippling beneath the illusionary fur. Turning before he'd have replied, Red drew her paw through the dirt, glaring defiantly at the beast as it came closer. She lowered on her haunches and snarled, eyes flashing.

The pain, the nausea of pushing on, the dizziness. It was gone, and Kraig knew why. "Maybe Hoods aren't to bad after all..." he mumbled to himself. "But hey, their are always exceptions." But why. Why had the Hood spared him. He hadn't really expected the Hood to answer his question, so he shouldn't have been disappointed in the fact he wasn't answered. But the little hope he had for the encounter was squashed by his audacious remarks. He recalled a saying, something about losing a tongue for having too much confidence. Maybe that would happen, but until then, he would talk till the days ended. Stirred from his thoughts he noticed a difference in the footsteps he was tracing, a sort of weight difference. They had been light before, when Kraig had been chasing. Naturally, they slowed down and became more heavyset after Kraig had let him go, but they picked up again later. Kraig's heart sped up a beat, and he started into a jog. All along the path of the steps was signs of conflict. Turned up soil, broken branches, and blood. Blood, but no bodies. Something was indeed terribly wrong.

"Well. That's not good." Kraig said, as he stumbled across the body of his contract. He hasn't considered how long he had been knocked out, so he should have suspected his contract was dead. "God, not another day of berries," he sighed, knowing he couldn't use his saved money on normal foods. But something about the body caught his eye. The wound was strange. It wasn't the doing of a wolf, that was for sure. He knelt down, and upon closer inspection, found a splinter of an arrow shaft in the gap of his chest. Whoever had killed his contract had deliberately killed them, and tried to make it look like a beast's fault. He had the sudden feeling he was not alone.

The scent of the freshly baked bread would be heavy now, and her stomach would growl loudly at the smell of food. "Damn it...What the hell IS this?" she would question and shove her hand on her side to help clot the bleed on her side. It hurt like hell but it wasn't as bad a wolf's bite or claws. The beast that was charging had come to a halt, or at least she assumed so as the thunderous pounding of its footfalls ceased. She turned form the clearing to see it pause for a moment before turning its attention to the ground before it and a voice bellows out from its form. This thing could talk?... Just then she'd see a flash of red...fur? Wolves. She drew her blades and rushed towards the now-charging beast. She tried to strategize but with this monstrous form in play it was almost impossible to create a solid plan. Just as she got near the beast she could see bristled red fur and the pearly-white fangs of a wolf opposing the monstrosity. Just beyond the red wolf she could see – and smell the beasts. The way the red one moved was...odd but she paid it no mind for now; it seemed like her mind was playing tricks on her tonight.

Red caught sight of the huntress and nodded slightly to her, both in greeting and warning. She would enter the gray, yes, against the beast that hunted both sides. She rationalized it would be more willing to make a deal perhaps if severely wounded. Her paws itched to be used, to claw and ravage and tear until they were stained with- Focus. With a huff, she rushed the beast with the Huntress, skirting to try and get past to its side. Bellies are always more vulnerable. Restrain yourself. Maybe she'd just stay higher up, rake the ribcage. But she'd need to get there first.

Once the massive bloodthirsty beast was close enough to it's unfortunate prey, Clovis lunges at the two individuals standing between him and the wolves. Moving at a speed far faster than somethinghis size should be capable of, the ancient Wendigo swings it's right clawed hand at tge Huntress with the intention of tearing her head off.

Had that wolf...nodded at her? Regardless the red wolf knew she was there, that was obvious. Sylvia had approached the wendigo, only to be greeted by a swift bat of its claws. The woman would duck low, barely escaping its lengthy claws. Once the strike had passed, Sylvia rises to her feet and raises her blades; she winces again as she realizes her shoulder was nicked by the wendigo's strike – today is just not her day.

She was starting to get aggravated by her injuries, as minor as they were compared to others she's recieved. If they would continue to compile, she could be in real trouble soon. The wound on her side had closed but she would have to be careful while fighting – don't want to risk opening it up again.

She shesthes her blade and leaps towards the wendigo, her hands attempting to grip at its fur. Her muscles were tense as she clings to the heavy matted fur, at any moment this thing would try and shake her off...or worse smack her off and it could be all over just like that. The huntress dismissed the thoughts of imminent pain and kept trying to climb the beast.

With a snarl, Red lunged for the beast's other side, her jaws snapping to clamp on an arm or leg. She moved quickly as well, not minding being a little careless with her abilities. Nonetheless, still adjusting to the temporary form, she was out of distance and her teeth closed on air. The being growled again, her gaze flickering to the huntress. Red circled quickly and rushed it, rearing up at the last moment to bring her claws down its side, unless of course the beast intercepted her. Mingled with magic, the aroma of meat once again wafted through the clearing, an illusion but a powerful one cast with the hopes of distracting it and buying the wounded huntress time.

Focusing all of his attention of hist opponents, the beast ignores the smell of raw flesh as the scent reappears. Hearing a noise behind him, Clovis turns to see a red wolf charging towards him. Reacting quickly, the Wendigo swings his left clawed hand at the wolf while he used his other hand to try to claw the huntress's back as she grabbed onto his fur.

Where claws meet fur, instead of a splash of blood, there is a loud hiss and thick black smoke curls out of the gash. Red recoils with a wince, flattening her ears against her head. Her side stings and she huffs with annoyance that her attack didn't land. I hate legwork.. No time! With viper-like speed, she retaliates, jaws wide as she lunged for the beast's hand reading towards the huntress.

Sylvia would brace for impact, unable to move much on the swaying beast, then the red wolf would lunge at the wendigo's claw. She lets out a huff of air as she continues to climb, just above the small of the beast's back now. She was ready to kill this beast if need be, though with its power and speed she doubted that her steel would do much against the monstrosity.

All alone and in silence, Honus evaluated his options. He could've just as easily gone back into the safety of the indoors. As a matter of fact it made the most sense. But through the entire forest echoed a roar, followed by several clamors. Now this was cause for investigation, a fight in the forests. As a matter of fact it was much more interesting than the seemingly dead people of the household. Maybe the relatively new thought of Marius intrigued him, and so he made the foolish decision to follow the sound. He wore his robe still, guiding himself in the dark by a lighter. At least there was no wind. But as the male approached the calamity, he saw in the darkness several fighting shapes. A large one, one he had never seen before, fought the several minuscule beasts below. He tried his best to remove himself from the conflict, watching as his eyes began to adjust to the darkness. But in the dark, he saw the telltale hood of a Hood.

In a rash moment of loss of focus, Red's body dissolves into crows as it slams into the earth, sparing her some of the impact, however each bird squaks, sharing the pain. The birds flock above the beast and mesh into the russet wolf once again, which lands loudly just in front of the beast, snarls, and lunged upward. It's larger this time, and more powerful. The being has stopped messing around now and her temporarily canine eyes burn with hunger.

Sylvia would continue to climb and before long she would feel a hand grip her body, clinging on to the fur as tightly as she could to no avail. She was swept up in the beast's grasp – helplessly at its mercy. She struggles against the digits wrapping around her body, she was trying to reach for the blades at her sides but she was completely restricted.

But it was time for the overweight and old Hood to play hero. He luckily brought his bow, he'd be stupid not to, and as he saw the creature (that did remind him somewhat of his ex-wife) he aimed his bow, Although he couldn't possibly guarantee a hit, the shape was large. And damned if it were to be that the beast killed one of his own. Honus let loose and fired the silver-tipped arrow, hoping to hit the beast.

Lucius was on his normal routine when he heard it. Loud, thunderous roar. Then more commotion. It wasnt far from him, maybe half a mile. He burst into a sprint in the direction the noises were coming from. He was quick moving even though he had armor on. He ran with one hand gripped tightly around his spear the other at his side. As he ran his boots hit the ground with a thud each time, although the noise wasnt loud it was noticeable. He weaved his body through the trees and bushes and soon he came upon the scene. A large beast in front of him along with several smaller beasts and from what he could make out a human. This human having a bow firing a shot at the beast he shook his head and in another burst of speed arrived at the mans side his spear now held in both hands. He spoke "You're crazy if you think something like that is going to stop a beast that big." He spoke quietly hoping nothing else would hear, although he doubted they couldnt he still attempted.

The sudden entity surprised him. But thankfully it was a Hood. Albeit, yet again, nothing was ordinary about the suit of armor. This wasn't exactly the Dark Ages where lycans towered over humans! But the Hood valiantly charged at the beast, to which Honus seemed to break character for a moment. "Yeah sure let me just pull my 'gigantic beast lance' out of my pocket and join you," Honus said with heavy sarcasm as he sought to load a second arrow into his quiver.

Lucius looked confused as to what Honus was saying. He sighed and he pointed his spear forward preparing for any attacks. He watched his sides and front as he prepared, his stance was that of a skilled warrior. A foot placed slightly back to provide a good base and to keep a solid stance. He said to Honus "Why do you insist on fighting this thing?"

Honus didn't ask to fight the thing. As a matter of fact he preferred not to, but there was a Hood in danger. In the beast's claws was a fellow Hood, at least as he could tell. And it was his duty to save his brethren, as stupid and reckless as they are. "Oh right, like I'm gonna play hoopstick with it," the male said sarcastically yet again, "It's the duty of the Hoods, kid."
