Fantasy Reaper: Reboot

"Well, obviously he didn't try it on you. You're a Weaver. Asilia was originally the enemy... So technically.." Cam lets out a deep sigh as he ponders in his thoughts for a moment, "... He was just doing his job." He lets her finish the rest of her statement before retorting, "That's not what I'm afraid of. Sure, I might be a good dad and all, but I don't want the burden of having to take care of a family when the sake of the remaining human population rests on Weave's soldiers." He mumbled, including himself when he mentioned Weave.
Catherine clenches her fists "you can't be serious. She's given birth to a child created from rape and you're bitching about the burden? Whenever she looks at that child she's gonna remember that shit." She shakes with anger "but I guess it must be hard for little Cam huh? Maybe you're not right for her then. She needs a real man who's ready to step up to the challenge. Someone who doesn't care about raising a kid in this shitty world. Someone who will stand by her no matter what." She glares at him

Having removed herself from the deserted training room eventually, Leah was wandering down a hallway when she heared the trade of bitter words. She eavesdropped on nearly the entire conversation. Now though, she decided to come out from around her corner.

'Have you ever heard someone say that it takes a village to raise a kid? Have you ever noticed how Weave is more or less the only thing for miles, while the rest of the world is overrun by Reapers? It's the apocalypse, and we're barely holding the doors against it, based on the security here. I'm not the only one to look out a window, am I? The guards outside are dead, and nobody's cleaned them up yet.'

Here, Leah paused to scowl.

'My point is that it's not like a neighborhood where you can just walk out on your girlfriend, we're stuck here, we all are. And in a few years' time, I'm quite sure everyone who applied for the Weaver surgery will all have a little toddler yipping at our heels whether we signed up for that part of the adventure or not. None of us really have a choice at all.'

Katie nods "I'll clean the sorry bastards up...do we burn em or bury em?" She sighs "Cam. Don't be a douche. Asilia needs you. You can't just leave the poor girl on her own."

"Asilia has become weak." Cam mutters, now starting to become angry. "And if she doesn't get her act back together, then if I actually do stand by her side, I'll have to drag her along." He pauses, contemplating for a moment, "Maybe I'm weak too. I usually don't run away from things like this, but it has just been haunting me ever since I found out about the child."

Catherine looks like fire is about to shoot from her eyes "Believe it or not pregnant women become weak. What kind of person can't stay with someone because they aren't strong? You're worse than I thought." Her hands shake as she clenches her fists, her knuckles turning white

He looks up at her, his eyes half-closed due to how tired he is, "What's your name again?" He asks casually.

"It's Catherine. Look I don't mean to be a bitch but don't leave her. She needs you now more than ever. I don't think someone who's weak could have gone through with having a child after how it was conceived. She's strong Cam..."

Cam lets out a long sigh before replying, "Listen Catherine, Asilia and I... To be honest, were never romantically involved. Long story short, I don't want to help raise a child in this hellish world."

Catherine sighs "in for a penny, in for a pound. You don't just get to walk away from it regardless of whether not it's yours"

"Why not? This isn't your typical husband-and-wife-raise-a-baby type of thing. It's more complicated than that." He stops, waiting for her to respond before he might say something else.

Catherine turns around "so what? You just leave her to look after it?" She sighs and shakes her head. She shrugs as she begins to walk away

"Your boyfriend could help. Scourge, was it?" He retorts as he scowls.

Catherine chuckles "not my boyfriend...yet. but seriously Cam don't let Asilia go, she's a pretty girl...not many of those left" she laughs as she rounds the corner. She makes her way to the elevators and quietly hums to herself

Cam stands up from the bench, only to glance down at his right shoulder, seeing the small wound Riven left him. Microscopic, invisible fire threads began to sew the wound back together. The threads were so small that they were unseen, making it look as if his skin was regenerating. The process took a moment until his skin, and trench coat, ended up being as good as new. He grins to himself as he begins to walk down the hallway.

Catherine steps into an elevator and pushes a button, in seconds she begins to ascend. She leans against the wall and closes her eyes and begins to sing as she remembers her father's words "my little songbird. Though you may be small and weak, your voice carries with it an undeniable sense of strength. Don't let anyone silence you my darling" she smiles as she sings and waits to arrive on Scourge's floor

Asilia sits up now, with no one to watch her break down, and begins to cry. It's not like she had asked to be raped.... not like she had asked to be impregnated.... and yet.... now he is leaving her.... well fine. She would raise her child by her self... she didn't need him, or anyone...

After a while of wondering the halls, Cam began to feel guilty, his small grin fading to a frown. He never wanted to hurt her, and in his defense, it felt like he hadn't slept in ages. His eyes were bloodshot and his skin was pale. He just wasn't thinking straight is all. He eventually made his way to the barracks, and sat on one of the beds. He wasn't necessarily used to sleeping, causing him to just sit there for most of the time. Luckily, however, he eventually falls asleep peacefully.

[QUOTE="Umbra Regalia] Scourge stared at Catherine with a raised eyebrow. She had just randomly walked in and fell asleep on his couch? Strange, but he didn't bother her. He went back to the piles of paperwork he had.

Catherine sighs, not being able to sleep sucked. "Hey Mr Scour-Aaron? You have any regrets?" She sits up and looks at him

"Of course I do. Everyone has regrets," Scourge said as he typed away at a report he had to make.

"Would it be prying to ask what they are?" She stares at the man, trying to see whether or not she was annoying him. She didn't want to annoy Scourge or appear desperate but she really wanted to know what he thought. "I guess my main regret is not being able to save my family. Cliche I know but still"

"Well, I regret a lot of things. One thing would be... Well I wish I had been able to save more people."

Catherine shakes her head "you managed to save a lot of people as is Aaron. You can't dwell on it y'know?" She gives him a reassuring smile "not only did you save a lot of us but you gave us a means to survive and fight back." She sits back and looks at the roof

"But I've also given you a reason to hate me. I've raped two of the people who are now with Weave, and I've been keeping Isaac's location to myself. I know they want his location, but whenever I try to explain it... They only hate me more."
