Other Random question of the day

Not sure if I asked this one before, but...

Random question of the day:

Do you ever feel reluctant or doubtful of your writing ability? If so, what do you do to drown out those doubts?

All the time! Sometimes I just deal with it, but it helps a lot to be surrounded by supportive people :)

Constantly, and when its worse I show whatever im working on to my best friend to get their opinion and reaction to the characters they've grown extremely familiar with by now

Honestly not a lot. I know it isn't great at times, but nothing says it has to be great, or even good. So long as I'm invested and my RP partners are invested, I'm pretty cozy c:

Edit: And if one of those needs aren't met, then I can always go back and edit. Case in point ;P

Haha all the time I feel as if I just keep rocking and don’t let the self doubt weight me down.

I can't think of specific examples because I haven't played in a while, but Project Zomboid comes to mind.

Is there any fictional character that you used to like but can't take seriously anymore for whatever reason?
Bakugo cause of his abusive ways is really over the top and gets annoying as no one seems to call him out on his treatment of Deku.

Darth Vader. I still love the old movies but can't take Star Wars seriously anymore.

Sherlock from the series by the same name. I used to really like him when I was little but then when I rewatched the show as an adult I realized how dumb he was lol

Negan from the show, but I sorta liked him throughout, but definitely thought he was a bit of a tool.

out of the first movies? texas chainsaw. i grew up in the rural south, so the horror always felt a lot more real to me than halloween's small-town suburbia.

Ya, like Fallout 4's dialog options.

1. Yes
2. Other yes
3. Sarcastic yes
4. No but yes

World of Warcraft rebooted in like The Second War with 90% fewer pop culture references

Hmmm. I never really got to play MMORPGs, but I kind of feel like I missed out on WOW and wouldn't mind the chance to play it. Preferably a reboot that lived up to the series at its peak.

I know this is an older question, but oh my god ALL. THE. TIME. I haven't written in a long time because of it. I think most of it comes from the fear of judgement and the lack of a proper audience to even share my works with. I've always been embarrassed about sharing my works, too, and I think that comes from a lack of proper privacy in my second childhood home. Somebody was always looking over my shoulder, and it sucked. What didn't help is when I took an interest in writing fan-fiction. The fear of judgement grew tenfold, and I still can't write any sort of fan-fiction despite having plenty of privacy.

It's a terrible cycle I've found myself and it sucks. I have no many stories I'd love to share--original and fan-fiction alike--but I never will because I have no confidence in my writing abilities.

As far as how I drown them out, I don't really, or I haven't found a good way to do it since I still can't write without hating what I write and scrapping it almost immediately. Mostly, I put that energy into other artistic mediums, such as illustration. Which I also struggle with for the exact same reasons. I'm very tired.
