Other Random question of the day

Random question of the day:

Have you ever bought something on the internet while drunk/high?
never got drunk enough to drunk buy probably never will though vids of people showing there drunk purchases are quiet amusing to watch I'll just never get to that point I drink just not enough to count myself as an alcoholic so ya likelyhood of me drunk buying is very very low

Random question of the day:

Is the reason why fiction that takes place inside a dream tends to be met with disappointment because the events of said fiction aren't real?

The reasons are two fold

One, it makes everything inconsequential. Why should I care about what happened if it never actually happened?

The second is what I call the Coma Effect. It's based on how many fantasy series, specifically kids one, have that one theory that it's all a coma. Basically, by chalking everything up to it being a coma or dream or psychosis, it robs the story of heart. Because it means the creators didn't have enough confidence in their setting to sell it as being just as valid as our world, and had to come up with a copout as to why it exists.

Random question of the day:

Do you feel that romantic rivals should bury the hatchet and become friends when they both get rejected by the man/woman they've been fighting over?

Liking a work of fiction a lot because of the work of fiction itself (as opposed to, for instance, not having any strong feelings towards the work of fiction but rather just liking the author in general or just thinking the themes it talks about are important, etc… In those cases you’d be a fan of the author rather than the work of fiction, and in the second case you wouldn’t be a fan of the work of fiction but you might think it is important)

Random question of the day:

Why is it that when Mario games experiment, everyone loves it, but when Sonic games do the same, everyone hates it? (If I already asked this question before, let me know and I'll ask a new one.)

See I don't necessarily think that's true.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story was universally praised as a good RPG for the time and for the DS. Only slightly before, SEGA released Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. This game met more lukewarm reception. Both, in my mind, were pretty decent games, although I spent more time playing Brotherhood because it was a little more fair, and a lot more like a traditional RPG - which isn't a bad thing, I loved Chrono Trigger.

But even I have to admit that Chronicles had some rough edges. It was pretty poorly translated, a lot of the cutscenes were very - and I mean very - unimpressive, characters went undeveloped, and even some of the gameplay was spotty, or just downright unfair.

The problem isn't Sonic, it's SEGA. Both games were commercial successes, but the problem was SEGA - and they still do this - rushed the development in order to beat the competition to the drop. This wasn't even a new phenomenon: in the 90's, they horribly rushed the Saturn release, in order to get out before the PlayStation, meaning they went in with virtually no games ready and only 6 launch titles - thus the Saturn was a spectacular failure.

They would repeat this exact same mistake with the Dreamcast.

SEGA is notorious for rushing things - namely Sonic releases. The quality of the product has, and still does, suffer because of this. Being a smaller competitor, it's almost as if they have this mentality that they need to pump out releases quickly in order to meet the Triple AAA standard - but look at Breath of the Wild. Remember when that first trailer dropped in 2013? I lost my goddamn mind - and it didn't release for four years.

Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen, Gaara from Naruto, and Mirage from Apex Legends. Imagine the chaos

I cant really decide if Mirage is a great or terrible roommate. Maybe I'll never know-
I imagine he can make a mean cocktail. Just because of that, I imagine he might lean toward the great. And he's got some good jokes

depends what kind of 'sick'
Flu/Colds/Tonsillitis (which I get at least once a year): Sleeping, painkillers, laptop gaming and music with lots of hot drinks.
Stomach bug/Upset stomach: Sleeping, binge watch netflix or disney + and timidly sip tepid water until I can keep dry toast inside my stomach for longer than 10 mins again.

(note: this is what I would LIKE to do, but being a full time unpaid carer, I never get to do this. Basically it's just do whatever the hell you physically can to stay alive and keep your dependant alive at the same time)

What do you like to do when you're sick at home?

Stuff that involves routine. It can get hard to think when I’m sick, but I get stressed if I feel I’m not doing anything when I still have stuff I have to do (that latter being nearly a universal constant for me). So stuff I can just do without thinking, and without wanting to appreciate are my activity of choice during those types, beyond of course the typical resting and stuff that one needs to get better.

Not sure if I asked this one before, but...

Random question of the day:

Is it true that casting celebrities to voice act in animated movies is a marketing tactic to get parents to take their kids to see the movies?

Might be. For some people it's definitely important to hear voices of their favorite actors even in kids' movies.

This is one where I actually remember you asking this. Anywhom'st:

I mean, sure it is. But all the celebrity voice actors in the world won't save us from a garbage movie, lmao.
