Food I'm thinking of opening up some kind of small coffee shop...

I have my career and career growth that I'm deeply invested in more than anything, but I often wonder where I'll invest my money when I get rich.

I'm thinking of opening up some kind of small store or eating place in some part of a city that sells... Oh I don't know... Sushi? Coffee? Cookies? Sandwiches?

It's more like a way to generate income if I ever get sick of the company I'm a CEO at (not yet there but doing great at my job and get promoted twice this year) and decide to temporarily or permanently retire away from the fitness industry... Maybe be lazy, open up shop, make money from people who come in the store, while spending the time I'm not preparing food or drinks maybe goofing off in reddit? Or texting some of my girlfriends? lol

Sounds like a cozy place to be in life, don't you think? I'll be like that dad from the anime Dagashi Kashi.

Just a thought. What do you all think?

If you feel it will make you happy then why not go for it?

Just put your savings in a RothIRA and a 401k like a normal person and not pick up a 60hr week job in your retirement phase

Better yet get and build a strong union so you get threaten to set fire to your bosses until you get a pension fund to augment your voluntary retirement funds

You know

Like a normal person

Well... Even though at that point in my life, I wouldn't be hurting on cash, I still would prefer to make sure the whole thing would still be at least a little bit lucrative. No point starting a coffee shop that actually makes me lose money. lol

With that said, though, assuming it does well, it's gonna be my absolute love.

Considering the high rate of failure among restaurants, amount of labor, and thin profit margins, it is about the furthest away you can get from lazy.

Do you what you want, but you're looking for easy, you're better off investing in stocks or going to an accountant and asking for financial advice.

That's real. A cute little place that's just yours sounds lovely despite all the work it'll involve.

As cliché as it sounds, I dream to open a bubble tea store (they're pretty popular where I live) one day aimed towards students. Free wifi, tonnes of power outlets, comfy seats and booths, open overnight, etc. Manifesting what I wish I have as a student, I guess. I desperately need a 24/7 place to study that isn't a McDonald's or my room :closedeyescryingfrown: 'Tis all a dream, I guess.

Got a name in mind already if you were to open one up?
