Quarantine London [Inactive]

Janie set the can down and rummaged through her bag until she found a spoon. She dropped the knife into her pocket and sat down leaning against the side of the doorway and she ate a mouthful of beans. "Hey Max, It's really creepy that you somehow knew my name with me telling you." she wiped her mouth in her sleeve and then picked up another spoonful of beans. She lifted her head in mid chew hearing a scream. She stared off toward where it seemed the voice came from for a moment before she continued with her meal trying to ignore the noise.

Andrew had decided it best to not try to talk to the other group by himself and started walking back to the small camp he and Sam had made.

As he turned around he noticed a person mumbling to himself and acting strange. He pulled out his crowbar and and tried to get his attention.

"Hey, you okay?"

His words were met with a small shriek, so Andrew slammed his crowbar into it's stomach and pushed it down. He started running back, he didn't want to be caught by more of them, especially out at night.

"It's engraved on your knife..." He said as he pointed to the handle of her weapon. Just then he heard a scream and was on full alert. "What was that?" He then saw smoke in the distance and nudged Janie. "Hey look at that", he said as he pointed to the smoke.

Janie shrugged. "Probably someone being killed." she lifted her head when he nudged her and stared out at the smoke chewing. "I guess someone is trying to stay warm or cooking." She crossed her ankles leaning her head back against the door frame.

He looked at Janie, "You're very laid back aren't you? You don't seem too scared in this situation.." Max wondered about this girl. She seemed so calm and collected despite the situation. "London has fallen apart and you're just like 'meh whatever'." He noticed that Alyssa had fallen asleep, so he lowered his voice. "It's not safe alone", he whispered.

Janie dropped her spoon into the can and set the half eaten beans on the ground next to her. "Well what do you want me to do?" she asked "It's not like panicking would do any good. I've already gone through the feeling sorry for myself phase. And how would you know it isn't safe alone? I've been alone so far and I'm still here. Groups draw attention. They get into argument and fights." she disagreed. "And how can you ever be sure that another person has your back? You could turn you back and they can become one of the infected and you would never know."

Sadly, she had a point. In a situation like this, there's no use feeling sorry for yourself. You either fight, or give up altogether. "All I've been used to is being alone...all my life my friends have left me. Boys made promises they didn't keep. My boyfriend died. My family is gone. I hated being alone. I almost went crazy. Do you know what it's like? Hating yourself. Thinking you're never good enough. Afraid you'll live a life without friends. It sucks. And how can I be sure they have my back...well I'm not.." Max looked down. "But I'll always have their back...I know what it's like to be betrayed...I wouldn't want anyone else experiencing that pain." Max started to cry, thinking of Logan, his family, his old life. He clutched his necklace and said,"I just can't be alone again..."

Janie rolled her eyes and pulled her knees loosely to her chest. She wrapped her arms around them holding onto her wrist. "Well aren't boys just jerks? I mean your boyfriend was the worst of them all. How dare he go and die on you." She turned her head looking out at the rain. "There's the problem right there. Just by having friends leave the opportunity to get hurt. You wouldn't want one of insane to find you curled up in a corner crying over some stupid heard break-- or worse being found by someone who's sane."

"I'm not even hung over that anymore. Ever since the bombings, I've learned weakness is a target. And yeah...boys suck." Max sat down and sighed. "Who needs them." He was scared Janie would leave him and Alyssa...he needed all the help he could get. "Janie...just at least stick with us for a day." He hoped his proposal would work. "A day. If you don't like it, then you can leave. Deal?" He held his hand out for her to shake.

Janie rubbed her ankles thinking over his proposal, staring at his palm. She nodded. "I'll take that deal, but I'm not shaking your grimy hand." She turned her head away looking out into the rain. She imagined standing under the droplets and what it would feel like to be slowly drenched from head to toe. She remembered a time when she was little, when spinning in the rain was one of her favorite activities. She could almost see the bright colored red and yellow rain boots as her brother and herself jumped in puddles.

"Fine", he paused before saying, "And for your information, you haven't had a shower in forever either, so I'm sure you're just as grimy." He yawned and thought about showering. The warm water and the relaxing feeling of it alll. He rubbed his eyes and said, "I'm heading to sleep, wake me if anything happens." He then wandered off to find a spot to sleep in.

Elsewhere in London, Mayumi Shinsato, a Professional Archer, woke up from a black out. She quickly came down with a headache and her vision briefly blurred. When she looked around, she found herself inside out on the street, where she saw a car on fire, debris all over the place, street lights barely working and building fronts with broken windows. When she looked to her right, she saw her trusty Compound Bow. She grabbed it and got up, She checked her quiver and did an arrow count. She had only thirty Armor-Piercing Arrows left, twenty normal arrows and ten explosive arrows. 'Great,' she thought. Her Arm Guard and Three Finger Glove were both still intact, so she was still able to use the Bow, since she didn't using it without them, mainly for safety reasons. Since night seemed to be approaching fast, Mayumi decided to go look for a safe place to stay and sleep for a bit since it looked like it was going to be very unsafe if she stayed out any longer.

Kneeling down she grabbed one of her blades that were impalled in the insanes chest. She grumbled, drenched in the rain has put a strain on her. The chills were to the point she had trouble opening her hands, they were literally turning blue, She was grumpy, hungry to the point she take her own hand off for a burger, and worst of all she fell on this poor fellow. "Can't there be a single day were I" she stepped one foot on its chest, ripping out the blade with a grunt. "can not be attacked! And thanks Mother Nature for bringing me this wonnnnddderrr full weather! I love" she reached over to the blade in the creatures head, pulling it out. With another grunt. "It!" Standing up she Wiped the blades of with the insanes shirt. Putting them back in the belt. She continued up the road, arms crossed. As the rain poured never endingly.

Max woke up, stretching and yawning. It was still dark out. Janie and Alyssa were sound asleep. He went to the entrance where a door used to be and stared out at the rain. If only Logan were here...he thought. He'd know what to do. He sat down, still watching the heavy rain come down with full force. He closed his eyes and remembered what it was like before this chaos.

-Flashback-

"Come on Max! You can do it!" Logan yelled, encouragingly.

"No I-" grunting he pulled himself up to the next branch.

"See! You got it!" Logan's beaming smile made the world seem not so lonely to Max. This is why he loved Logan. "There!" Max said as he got to the final branch at the top of the tree.

Later on, Max and Logan started walking towards home after a long day, hand in hand. "Max it's been 5 months."

"5 months since...?"

"We started dating stupid!"

How could he have forgotten? He lost track of time when he was with Logan. "Here", he pulled out a necklace with a crescent shaped moon on it, "For you." He fastened it around Max's neck.

"Wow Logan it's amazing..."

"As long as you wear it, the moonlight will always protect you."

Max woke up with a start. The rain had stopped and the sun was rising. The 2 girls still asleep.

Janie brushed her hands on her jeans not commenting a snarky remark back at him for calling her smelly. Grimy was just an excuse she had come up with so she didn't have to touch him. She didn't like to touch others or worse, be touched. She picked up the can and dropped into into a plastic bag and rolled it up before putting it inside her back pack. She zipped it up for safe keeping and then moved away from the door. She laid down resting her head on her backpack as a pillow and slowly fell asleep.

Drake frantically looking for a place that is safe, rushed into a building. The guitar on his back was a little bit beaten up, but it had six strings and it still worked. His baseball bat in hand he smashed the door, and kept ramming it, till it finally budged. Inside he looked around. It looked like someone was inside the room but he didn't care. He just rushed to get something to cover the door opening. He finally grabbed a table and put it in the doorway. He rushed back and forth. Until he noticed three people, one of them trying to sleep. "Hi."

Sydney had had her chance at friends, and lost it. She hesitated on running now that she hadn't emerged, but heard they were going to the Quarantine place, and that was where she wanted to go. She followed them, but as they entered a building, she kept walking. She wasn't going to waste time waiting for rain to clear.

Thanks to the Rain, Mayumi was starting to get a little cold, but not to where she had Hypothermia. While looking around for where to go, she had also hoped that she will get the opportunity to team up with another group of people, since she did not exactly know what was going on, let alone she was most likely on the wrong side of the Quarantine, but she wasn't exactly aware of the quarantine. Getting hungry, Mayumi began a search for a Convenience Store, in hopes of finding at least a Candy Bar or something.

Janie lifted her head startled by the sudden noise. She pushed herself into a sitting position rubbing her eyes. She had assumed it was Max or Alyssa rummaging about, but when her vision cleared she saw a stranger barricading the door. She stood up quickly onto her feet thinking about reaching for the small knife in her pocket, but didn't think it would be much help. "What are you doing here?" she asked, not bothering to ask for a name and going straight to the point.

Max stood up quickly, reaching for his knife. Janie seemed to have it under control. He backed up towards Alyssa, who was still asleep.

"I didn't expect anyone to be in here." He said to himself. He looked at them. It look like a boy younger then him and two girls. He only glanced at them. "I'm was looking for someone. a friend, But who are you?"

Janie turned to Max who had raced over to Alyssa's side instead of facing the stranger. She gripped her hands into fists a bit nervous that her escape rout had been cut off. "Who am I? You're the one that barged in here. I don't think you get to be the one asking questions." she replied quickly. She already had to be wary of the two people she had met the night before, now she had to deal with a third this early in the morning. She wasn't going be the warm welcoming party that Max and Alyssa seemed to be.

"I am drake, drake parker. And I might have barged in but at least I am not asking stupid questions, when they meet someone who could help you out." Drake got angry and stormed off. He broke the door down and didn't hesitate to put it back up. His temper was getting to him. He went off into another building. He went to the roof and sat down, and watched. The door to the roof was locked, so nothing or no one could get in. (Sorry guys I have to go. and this weekend I got a lot of stuff to do.)
