Carmen was shaking at this point, stood in the kitchen until she heard luke calling for her and she made her way out to the front door. Eddie was so close but she was still scared, not sure if Luke had something up his sleeve or if he had just gotten so cocky about the control he had on her that he’d messed up. “Hey… I uh… I’m not coming back to work.” She told Eddie quietly.

He shook his head and scoffed. “So did I. The damage you did and you’re confused as to why I’m not asking you to move in? Cause since you’ve been back it’s been peaceful. I don’t know how long that’s gonna last.” He told hee seriously “so are you gonna disappear again soon as shit hits the fan? And I’m left picking up the pieces again?” He muttered.

Eddie frowned deeply when he saw her again and noticing mkre bruising starting to show up "Right, just need you to come down and sign some severance papers." He explained checking to see Luke was out of sight before he grabbed her hand and began running her to his car "Come on quickly."

Max frowned deeply and shook her head "Jon this past year has been a shit show with the club. You've only just now started to quiet down from that ATF beef. I'm still here aren't I?! When they pressed me for info I stayed after, I didn't run where I would have when I was younger. Have I not proven that I am here to stay?! I love you Jon, but I'm not putting up with you not trusting me anymore. So either you give some kind of respect or this is over."

That moment of hope was quickly being replaced with relief as he pulled her to the car, being as quick as she could as she got in, spotting one of the club pulling up on his bike at the same time that Luke was realising what had happened

He scoffed and shook his head, his temper getting the best of him and he stood up. “No if you’re gonna start demanding shit then I’m done.” He snapped at her

Eddie pulled her into the car and quickly pulled his gun when he heard Luke's voice "Get down beautiful and stay down until I say otherwise." He said seriously before starting up the car just as Alex was pulling up. He quickly rushed off as soon as the engine turned over with Alex following after them.

Max looked at him in a bit of disbelief "I....Alright then...I guess this is over then." She said softly before taking a shaky breath "I'm sorry that I asked too much of you." She muttered before standing up and making her way to the door.

Carmen sat there silent for a little while until they had definitely left him behind and she started sobbing, trembling as he pulled into what she assumed was the club house judging by all the bikes outside. "I'm so sorry... I'm so sorry." She whimpered, "I got home and I was getting ready for bed and I didn't even hear the door open... Then you sent that text... And he saw it and he ... he.." Shee couldn't finish her sentence and continued staring at her lap while he got out the car and Alex parked up next to them

Jon shook his head "You want respect then you give it to everyone else at the club. I get it that you got out of here and you're too good for most of them but they fucking notice." He snapped, walking back towards his kitchen to chuck the bottle away

Eddie shook his head at her and gave her hand a gentle squeeze "You'll be safe here, give me just a second okay?" He said quietly before getting out once Alex pulled up beside him "Can she hide out here for the time being? She is really shaken up and needs a doctor."

Max shook her head and gave a small laugh "Bullshit and you know it. I show everyone there respect, sorry that it doesn't extend to the pornstar hang arounds that treat me the same." She muttered before opening the front door "See you around I guess Jon." She said before leaving the house and heading back to hers.

Alex frowned but nodded. “She will be safe here. We can’t touch him though man. He’s a biker. He’s part of some Aryan club up north and we’ve had too much beef with them for us to do a thing. I’m sorry. I’ll call Kelly up. She gets off work in like five minutes I can get her to bring some stuff over here and she can check her out.” He told him, talking about his girlfriend who was a nurse.

Jon just shook his head and spent a little longer in his apartment before heading out and going straight down to the club house.

Jess was working the bar and finally had a wuiet few minutes to herself, smiling at max when she walked in. “Hey … you look like you need a drink.” She frowned a little. “I take it it didn’t go well with Jon?”

Eddie gave a heavy sigh but nodded some "Thanks Alex." He said genuinely before going to Carmen's side and opening the door for her "Listen you'll be safe here, Kelly will be here soon to give you a look over and help you get patched up." He explained gently to her before kneeling to be at her level "Alex told me they can't touch him though...they know the club he is with."

Max made her way to the Hellfire needing a stiff drink after that. She sat down and gave a small nod to Jess "Jack and Coke double." She muttered before running a hand through her hair "Apparently I need to learn how to respect other members and old ladies of club." She said before taking a small sip of the drink "I should have known when I came back that this wouldn't work. I shattered his trust and was foolish to think I'd evere be able to earn it back."

She shook her head and just sniffed a bit, wiping at her eyes. “I didn’t know. He hid the ink for so long. But then he took me to the club. And I heard all the shit they were saying about other kinds of people and I tried to leave. He wouldn’t let me…. I have been trying to leave him behind and I have moved all over the country but he keeps finding me every time. No matter where I go.” She told him, shaking a little. “And I just know that the next time I go home all my stuff will be destroyed.”

Jess sighed a little but nodded, leaning against the bar to listen to her. “Maybe a bit of space will do you both good. It might make him realise what he’s got with you.

Eddie frowned deeply as he listened to her and gave a small nod "I'm going to do everything I can to make sure he doesn't come after you again." He said to her before helping her out of the car "Come on, lets get you settled." He murmured before kissing her hand gently and leading her inside the clubhouse.

Max nodded and finished off her drink "Yeah maybe, we'll just have to see." She murmured before giving a small sigh "Thanks for the help and lending a listening ear Jess. It means a lot.," she said before paying for her drink and getting up to leave.

She frowned a little and nodded. “Hey why don’t you come over tomorrow night? The boys are going out to Nevada for that charter meeting. It’s just gonna be me and Kelly and I was gonna ask the new girl that’s been working here too.” She smiked. “It’ll be a good time.” She promised her.

She just nodded and followed him, looking around like she was waiting for him to just appear out of nowhere but he never did and she let Eddie take her to a back room, sitting on the edge of the bed and looking up at him. “Ed… if this is all… if it’s too much I understand if you don’t want to continue what we’ve started…. But if you want to… I’d still like that.” She told him quietlg

Max gave a soft smile and nodded "Yeah that sounds really nice. I'll be there." She said happily before heading out to go home.

Eddie smiled happily at her and shook his head "Nah you didn't scare me off Doll. Hell I thought I scared you off." He said before kissimg her cheek gently "I'd definitely like to continue seeing you."

She just nodded and moved to sit back a little, pulling her knees to her chest and just staring at the floor until there was a knock at the door and she looked up to see Alex and some woman opening it.

Jess nodded to her and soon texted Eddie to let him know that Charlie was getting real impatient and wanted him back at work ASAP. Then she opened her texts to Jon, sending him one scolding him on how he had behaved with this situation

Eddie looked up and gave Kelly a small smile "Hey Kelly...thanks for the help here." He said softly while rubbing Carmen's back trying to comfort her the best he could "You want me to step outside while she looks you over?" He asked frowning as his phone went off sighing heavily texting Jess that he would call her in a few minutes.

Carmen nodded and thanked him quietly, watching him leave, chatting with Kelly the whole time, starting now to finally feel properly safe. Like she wouldn't have to run anymore.

Jon showed up to the clubhouse frowning a little at the look Drew was giving him, lighting up a cigarette and shaking his head "Don't start that. I don't want relationship advice from you." He muttered knowing his friend far too well

Eddie stepped out to talk with Jess and explain the situation knowing Charlie wouldn't be happy, but he would understand as well.

Kelly smiled softly as she chatted with Carmen "You the girl Jess told me that Eddie is whipped for?" She teased giving a small laugh "I definitely see why, you're a very pretty lady." She complimented wanting her to be comfortable around them.

Drew gave Jon a knowing look as he came inside having heard everything from Jess "I'm not saying shit....but just know what you're doing man. She is either in or out, knows too much to keep up this back and forth you've decided on."

He paused and glared at him. “The fuck is that supposed to mean?” He spat at him.

She smiled a little and shook her head. “And barely one date in and I’ve dragged him into this mess.” She mumbled.

Jess frowned and shook her head. “You be careful Ed, you’re under club protection but don’t get in too deep okay? I’ll spin Charlie some excuses, go make sure she’s alright.” She told him and hung up.

Drew shook his head some "Max knows too much about us to keep coming and going you know it. She needs to be in or out." He said seriously

Kelly laughed lightly and nodded "Its okay. You'll both be safe here."

Eddie sighed heavily and gave a small nod "Yeah...I'll try not to." He muttered before hanging up and knocking on the door "Okay for me to come in?"

He glared at him still, standing his ground "You trying to threaten me or her?" He questioned him.

Carmen thanked her quietly and stood up, opening the door "Yeah, we're all done." She told him gently.

Drew frowned more and shook his head "Both of you. Make sure she won't say shit." He muttered before walking off.

Eddie gave her a small smile "Would you like me to stay?" He asked softly hoping she would ask him to stay.

She nodded quickly. “Please. It’s not that I don’t trust them… I just… I don’t know them really.” She told him quietly. “I’m sorry I dragged you into this mess.” She told him quietly, starting to finally feel the exhaustion hit her.

Jon grit his teeth but finished off his cigarette and went to get the information from Matt, their president, on the bride over to the next charter

Eddie smiled softly and gave a nod "Hey don't worry about it okay? I'll stay here." He said before kissing the top of her head "Now you take the bed, I'll take the floor."

Matt looked up at Jon when he came into church and raised an eyebrow "Jon? Whats up Brotha?" He asked as he put his phone up.

He frowned and took a seat, lighting another cigarette. “You need to rein your brother in. Making threats to me and max. But that’s neither here nor there right now. I need the information for the job up north.” He told him

Matt rolled his eyes at the brother comment and gave a nod "I know Maxine won't say anything about what she has seen here, Drew is just being overly cautious." He said before ushering him over "I'm going over the route now. We'll need to stay back roads on this one. Construction on the main roads is causing way too much backup."

Eddie moved to lay in bed with her and gave a soft smile "Alright I'm here." He murmured to her

She smiled a little and watched him. “I don’t know what it is about you but you make me feel like a teenager all over again…. Probably make you feel like you’re in your 20s though cause you’re probably too old to remember being a teenager.” She teased him a little.

He nodded, going over things with him for an hour and finally left to go grab a drink, leaning up against the bar and sighing a little, letting his eyes wander over to one of the newer hang arounds, watching her for a good long while.
