Realistic or Modern Put It Into Speed Drive

Max gave a small nod and followed her out.she listened to everything she said and sighed heavily. She shook her head some "Jon got drunk one time, it was when we were fighting our first time together. I told him from then on we needed to talk to one another, and if he ever stepped out again I'd be gone forever." She explained before giving a small shrug "But its completely up to you if you want to forgive Ed or not. I'd understand if you wouldn't, had Jon done something like that I wouldn't have."

She sighed a little and shrugged. “We will see. He gets home in a couple days. Lita may just call him first though.” She muttered.

Max gave a small nod "With how you've described that she acted I doubt she will. She seemed to have thrived on the drama, and with Eddie breaking things off she may want him blindsided." She said before reaching over and giving her shoulder a soft squeeze "If you need anything though, I'm here for you."

She thanked her as they got back to the bar and went separate ways. It felt like it was dragging on the next couple of days until Eddie was home and Carmen was sat in the lounge with Lilah, playing with her some.

Jeff sighed heavily as he sat in his hotel room, looking at the texts he’d sent max over the last couple of days with absolutely no response, just nodding to himself.

Eddie got home around midday from tour. He smiled widely when he heard Lilah's little cooes coming from the lounge area. He walked through and bit his lip gently "Hey beautiful." He said happily.

Max sighed heavily as she pulled out her phone looking over the texts Jeff had sent her. She bit her lip hard before pressing the dial button hoping maybe he would pick up and they could talk "Hey...I um...I was wondering if we could talk."

She barely glanced up from Lilah when she heard his voice, smiling a little when lilah was immediately reaching for him and wanting to get to him. “Hey. Someone missed you.” She muttered, passing her over to him.

He frowned a little. “That depends doesn’t it. Cause when I said I could be patient I meant if you needed time. Not if you needed to talk to me like I’m attacking you or your ex.” He muttered, a little frustrated over the whole thing still

Eddie took Lilah immediately into his arms as she passed her over "Oh hello princess. I missed you too." He murmured noticing how Carmen wasn't looking at him at all "Babe? You okay?"

Max sighed heavily before speaking "My husband was in a gang, it got him killed. Its a touchy subject that I'd like to not really talk about. When you brought it up, it felt like you were judging us....my husband was a good man." She explained quietly to him

She nodded. “Yeah. Just fine. Kelly is gonna come pick her up in a minute. We need to talk.” She muttered, getting up and picking up a couple toys off the floor. “How was your flight?” She asked, making small talk until Kelly arrived and she handed over Lilahs car seat and bag, “thank you. I’ll call you in a bit.” She told her, finally closing the front door and finding Eddie coming down after getting changed. “Why?”

Jeff shook his head and frowned. “Honey you gotta have a little more trust in me. Cause I don’t care what he did or what kinda guy he was. I care about you. And that’s all. So is this gonna be a regular reaction or can we work on this?”

Eddie came down from getting changed once Lilah was gone frowning a bit when he saw the look on Carmen's face. He gave a heavy sigh as he watched her a minute "How did you find out?" He asked softly knowing not to even try and play stupid with her.

Max shook her head and gave a heavy sigh "I want to work on this. I've been in my head a lot these past few days and I like you a lot Jeff. I want to do everything I can to make this work." She admits to him.

“Not that that is what should matter right now, but Lita posted a selfie in the hotel room that I saw when I FaceTimed you. And there was leftover makeup on the pillow. You should know that she is gone. Left town gone. Didn’t like that I threatened her…. But again… why?! I had no fuckin idea that you weren’t happy Ed! I thought things were looking up for us!” She yelled at him.

He sighed and shook his head. “That’s all I needed to hear. I gotta go sweetheart. I’m wanted on set but I’ll call you later okay? Give Grace a cuddle from me alright?”

Eddie took a deep breath watchimg her as he tried to find the right words. "After Lilah was born...I felt like you were pulling away. It really fucked me up seeing you dying in my arms basically. I just went to her to vent a little because I didn't want to upset you. You were constantly only talking to me if it was about Lilah, and I understand that she is priority, but if would have been nice to have you ask how my day had gone or if I was even recovering okay. I constantly asked you and you'd brush me off." He admitted while never taking his eyes off of her.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later Jeff." She said softly before hanging up the phone. She went to check on Grace smiling a bit seeing that she was still napping.

She stared at him shaking her head. “Ask how you were recovering? Ed I was down at that hospital with you as much as I possibly could be without putting our daughter in danger! I know you were hurting because I tried to talk to you but you never responded! And then she went downhill so excuse me if I wasn’t so worried about you by that point! You’ve been hurt twice and both times I was there. When you almost died in the bar you never checked in on me either so don’t give me that shit! We have a family! I have been there every step of the way with you so you can have Ozzy here safe with you. With us! You’ve been sleeping with my best friend!” She yelled at him.

The knock at the front door a few minutes later woke her up and soon enough she was fussing and crying until max picked her up and she snuggled closer into her mom

Eddie frowned deeper as he listened to her "I fucked up. I played into her shit and I fucked up. I'm sorry....I love you Carmen, I never had feelings for her like that." He said quietly

Max frowned when she heard a knock at the door. She got Grace and went to answer hoping that it was just some sales person that she could tell to go away.

Jon's mother was stood on the other side, frowning and looking Max up and down like she did every time she'd met the girl. "Maxine.... I wanted to come see my granddaughter. And since you won't return any of my calls... I've come down here in person." She told her

Carmen just shook her head "Bullshit! You don't do this to someone you love Ed! I'm going to stay somewhere else for a while until I figure out what I'm gonna do. You wanna see Lilah then you call and ask and we can work out a time and place but I'm done Ed. I honestly thought you would be different but you're like every other guy I've ever dated at this point." She muttered, brushing past him to go grab her bag she had packed before he'd got home

Max frowned deeply when she saw her mother in law "Caroline...please come in." She muttered before stepping aside to let her in. Her relationship with her mother in law had always been sketchy. She was never good enough for Jon and she always blamed her for Jon going towards a criminal path.

Eddie shook his head and tried to gently grab her arm "No....Carmen please lets talk this out further. Please don't leave. Listen if anyone should go its me, you have all of Lilah's things here."

She pulled away and shook her head. “What the fuck do you think there is to talk about Ed?! You had an affair! I’m starting to see why Chrissy is such a bitch with you.” She spat, going up to their bedroom, hearing him following.

she nodded and stepped inside, looking around at the mess and frowning some. “I wanted to make you aware that I’m filing for grandparents rights. With my son gone who knows what you may try and pull and stop me from seeing Grace.” She told her

Eddie frowned deeply and followed her up to the room "I fucked up! I just....fuck what can I do to make this right?" He asked quietly

Max went wide eyed and shook her head "Are you kidding me?! No, Caroline you can't take her from me. She is happy and taken care of here." She said taking a deep breath as she held her daughter close.

She turned and glared at him. “You cant! There is nothing you can do to change the fact you slept with my best friend! So have fun being here on your own. Cause clearly I’ve been making you miserable.” She muttered, brushing past him to leave, “Ed let go of my arm!” She muttered as he had grabbed her on the way out.

“There you go being ridiculous again. I’m not taking her away. I don’t want to raise another child. I just want to know that no matter what happens I will always have access to my granddaughter.” She told her seriously, knowing full well already it was Jon that was making it difficult for her to come see Grace not max in the first place

Eddie grabbed her arm again to get her to stay "You're not leaving. Lilah's things are here and she should be in a place she knows, not a hotel room. I'll go, my shit is still packed so I'll go." He said seriously before grabbing his suit case and duffel bag.

Max frowned deeper and shook her head "You know why we didn't come around as much. Even if Jon is gone I will still respect his wishes to keep you at arms length." She said seriously.

“Did you ever consider that I don’t want to be here myself. Maybe I want to be nowhere near your stuff right now. Lilah will be fine.” She muttered, heading out the front door still. “Call me when you wanna see her. Im furious with you but this has nothing to do with lilah.” She pointed out, slamming the door behind her.

She rolled her eyes. “Please! Everyone knows in the family how much you kept him away from us. It wasn’t a coincidence that once you came back he stopped coming around again.” She spat at her. “Now can I hold my grand baby?”

Eddie frowned deeply and let go of her arm "Alright..." he said quietly before letting her leave. Once she was gone he locked up the house and went to take a shower.

Max frowned deeper and shook her head "You know damn well he stayed away because of your drama. It just so happened to start up again when I came back." She muttered before moving away not wanting her to have Grace.

Carmen went to pick up Lilah straight away, going to get a hotel room for a few days and sent Jess a few messages to let her know what happened and that she was safe but she would probably be pretty silent over the next few days.

-2 months-
Carmen sighed heavily as she got Lilah's diaper changed, checking her phone for the hundredth time to see if Eddie had called yet to sort out what time he was picking up their daughter. She knew he was struggling a little more right now because the first round with the courts hadn't gone very well with him. Chrissy had played heavily into the fact that they were no longer together to claim it wasn't a stable environment for Ozzy and Carmen was a little worried about how Eddie was handling it all.

Jeff got out of the taxi and thanked the driver, tipping him on top of the fare before heading up Max's driveway, excited to see her for the first time in forever. They'd been on much better terms again finally and he was hopeful for where this was headed now that they'd had the space and both knew that they enjoyed each other's company far more than they wanted to be separate

Eddie sighed heavily as he picked up the phone to call Carmen after he had gotten off with his attorney "Hey, sorry for the late call. Gary called to talk further about my next court date." He explained running a hand over his face "I'll be there in about an hour, is that alright?"

Max smiled widely when she heard the doorbell go. She was so excited to see Jeff again after so many months apart. After working things out they were in a good place and just excited to go further in thier relationship. She opened the door as immediately flung her arms around his neck "Oh its so good to see you." She murmured into his as she nuzzled against him gently.

She frowned and shook her head. “I got shit to do Ed that requires me leaving the house. This time fine but you can’t be late picking her up all the time.” She told him, “one hour. No more.”

He smiled and quickly planted his feet so he didn’t fall over, holding her tightly and burying his face into her hair. “Mmm I missed you.” He smiled, kissing her head. “Where’s the little nugget?”
