Realistic or Modern Put It Into Speed Drive

Lita thanked his nurse as she sat back down, texting Carmen the update she’d got, sighing a little. She’d been there every day when she wasn’t working, watching and waiting and she’d insisted on Carmen staying at home in bed as much as possible, not even telling her that Eddie would likely be waking up today just to make sure she stayed resting. It was a couple hours yet but when he started groaning and shifting a little bit she quickly stood up and pressed the call button. “Ed. Hey just relax alright? Steady.” She smiled.

Jon set her down finally and leaned back on his elbows, still watching her. “They’ve been bugging me all morning to go in. I don’t want to.” He sighed a little. “What uh… what would you think about moving away from here?” He asked her.

Eddie started to come around and frowned deeply as he groaned loudly. He looked over at Lita and took a deep breath "Car....Carmen.." he grunted his voice raspy from a dry throat

Max looked at him a bit shocked "Really? I wouldn't say no if thats what you really want. Wouldn't that mean giving up the club?"

She shook her head and frowned. “Shh don’t talk Ed. She’s resting at home right now. I’ll call her in a minute.” She promised, taking his hand supportively.

He nodded slowly. “I want to be with my family. And I want my family to be safe.” He sighed a little.

Eddie groaned again but gave a small nod trying to take in his surroundings the best he could. He reached up to hold his head and frowned feeling the bandages around it "What happened?"

Max nodded and gave his hand a squeeze "If you truely want to leave then I'm okay with it." She murmured before kissing him gently

He nodded and just glanced down at Grace sighing. “They’re making it difficult.” He muttered, smiling at his little girl.

Lita shook her head, pulling his hand down. “You got shot Ed. At work. One of them grazed your head. You got hella lucky with that one. The other two not as much. Just try to rest okay? You got a lot of stitches that could get torn if you start moving around too much just yet.” She explained. She ended hp not telling Carmen until a few hours later that he had woken up, just staying with him to keep him company the whole time and eventually left to go pick her up a little begrudgingly

Max gave a small nod smiling as Grace giggled at him "You think they'd actually let you go?" She asked softly as she thought it over further.

Eddie looked over seeing Carmen come in later that evening smiling wide "Hey.....hey beautiful...." he said reaching out for her "How are you?"

She took a seat near him and just started sobbing, burying her face into the top of his shoulder, gripping at his hand tightly. “You ever pull this shit on me again and I’m gonna kill you.” She told him, eventually pulling back and kissing his cheek. “How you feeling?”

He shrugged, picking her up when they started packing up to go home. “I guess there’s one way to find out.” He mumbled. “I gotta time it right though. To when they probably won’t care whether I’m gone or not.” He sighed, a ball of stress at the moment over everything happening in that section of his life.

Eddie gave her a soft smile and nodded some "I'm okay....just tired worried about you." He whispered kissing her hand gently "How is our little girl?" He murmured just watching her intently.

Max packed things away while he got Grace in her chair. She got in the car kissing his hand gently "We'll figure it out, I know we will." She murmured softly

She smiled and nodded. “She’s doing good. Keeping me up at all hours still…. Ed you okay honey?” She frowned noticing the way his eyes glazed over. “Get some sleep babe. I’m not going anywhere for a while okay?”

He nodded and pecked her lips once he’d sorted out the car seat, getting in and taking them home. “I gotta go in for a bit today. I’ll call you if I gotta stay longer alright?”

Eddie stared at her the entire time just trying to keep himself up. When she told him to rest though his eyes immediately fell shut and he was able to fall asleep.

Drew looked over at Jon as he came in for the night and gave a dry laugh "Look who finally decided to come in." He muttered

She frowned a little and just kept close, holding his hand while she watched the tv, already feeling like she needed to go home again until Jess showed up. “Hey, he woke up. I’m just waiting til he wakes up again then I’m going home. Lita is gonna drop by in the morning though. She’s been a saint for me keeping a close eye while I can’t.” She smiled.

“Don’t start with me man. I’m not in the mood.” He muttered, going to get a drink straight away.

Jess gave Carmen a small smile and nodded softly "Thats wonderful news. You need me to take you back home?" She asked as she sat beside her watching Eddie as he slept "He'll be home before you know it."

Drew gave another dry laugh and shake of his head "Really? Well maybe I'm not in the mood to here what bullshit excuses you have for us tonight." He spat before finishing off his own beer.

She nodded and thanked her quietly, opting instead to leave Eddie a note to let him know she’s gone home.

Lita was in there from right after the ohetwo left, taking the note and ripping it up before Eddie was waking up again. “Hey, how you feeling?”

“It’s not excuses when it comes to keeping my family safe. It that means pulling away from a life of violence and crime then I’ll do it.” He warned him.

Eddie frowned deeply when he didn't see Carmen there when he woke up. He looked at Lita and gave a small sigh "I'm alright....where did Carmen go?" He asked quietly

Drew rolled his eyes "And what? You're gonna earn straight? What kind of skills do you have huh? All you fucking know is crime and violence, its all any of us know."

She smiled and watched him, “Gone home. She wasn’t feeling good. I’m just sticking around to keep an eye on you for her peace of mind til they think you’re well enough to get out of intensive care.” She told him.

“Just fuckin drop it man. I already told you I’m not in the mood to get into it with you.” He muttered, brushing past him and going to see Matt. “You said you needed me on a job?” He muttered

Eddie gave a small nod and sighed "Oh...I thought she'd atleast tell me herself." He murmured before yawning some "Can you press the call button? I need some kind of food."

Matt looked up at Jon as he came in giving a nod "Found where the AB is cooking in town. Need your help with the boom."

She nodded, helping him to sit up as well and waited with him, talking through a few things, helping him with his lunch when he was shaking too much to lift the fork. She stayed with him until she had to leave for work.

Jon nodded and frowned. “Alright. Listen Matt…. Max and I are thinking of moving. Like to the east coast kinda moving.” He told him. “It won’t be immediate but I don’t want my daughter growing up the way we all did. It wasn’t healthy and I just… I want her away from all of this.”

Eddie was beyond thankful for Lita doing this for him since Carmen couldn't. It was still eating at him though that she didn't leave a note for him, that was very unlike Carmen to not tell him goodbye. He sighed softly and reached for his phone wanting to give Carmen a call to just talk with her a bit.

Matt frowned deeply and looked at him "You sure thats what YOU want?" He asked not wanting him to give up this because Max was forcing him to. He gave a heavy sigh when he saw the look he gave him and nodded "Alright...listen lets talk on this more after the run, see what we can do."

She groaned a little but answered. “Give me a minute babe.” She mumbled. “I uh… let me call you back.” She told him, hanging up and calling him back about fifteen minutes later. “Hey, sorry… me and the toilet bowl have been best friends the past hour.” She mumbled. “How you doing?”

He nodded. “Max is the one who is concerned about logistics.” He told him, going over the job with him in detail and sighed some. “This set up looks riskier than we would ever normally do.” He frowned.

Eddie frowned deeply at how bad she sounded and gave a heavy sigh. He answered as soon as she called back wishing he was there with her "I'm so sorry doll. I'm so sorry I'm not there with you." He murmured

Matt nodded some and gave a heavy sigh "Look we have to get these assholes. This shit is getting out of control amd they need to be handled."

She smiled and shook her head. “I know honey but I understand.” She told him “We’ll get you home soon as we can.” She told him quietly, staying on the phone with him til she fell asleep.

Jon nodded and sighed a little, stepping out to go call max. “Hey beautiful… listen don’t wait up for me alright? It’s gonna be really late.” He told her.

It was another month and a half before Eddie had made it home. He was happy to be back but he still wasn't a hundred percent and with each day it seemed like Carmen got worse in her pregnancy. He sat on the couch at home with her rubbing large circles on her ever growing bump "I can't wait to finally meet her."

Max sat at the clubhouse with Grace for the first time since Jon had gotten back. He had asked her to come pick him up from work and she had come a bit early. She smiled widely as Grace squealed loudly seeing Jon come in "Say hi daddy." She cooed happily.

She frowned but nodded, gripping his free hand. “I just want her to be here and out of me.” She mumbled. “Jess said she would bring some stuff round later she found from when their boys were babies.” She was thrilled to have him home finally but something was feeling a little different and if she thought about it too long it was stressing her out. “Ed I don’t feel good.” She told him quietly.

Jon turned and looked at her smiling, going over to pick her up. “Oh hello my little princess.” He cooed, lifting her up into the air then brought her down for a cuddle. “You wanna go get lunch?” He asked max, reaching out towards her. “Matt I’ll see you tomorrow for that meeting.” He nodded towards him before heading out with his girls.

Eddie gave a deep frown and squeezed her hand gently "Do I need to take you to the hospital?" He asked softly seeimg the distressed look on her face.

Max walked out with him giving a smile to the guys as she went "Has he given you any more information on how to leave? I think I may have found a house that could be great for us."

She frowned and shook her head. “No I just… I’m tired of not feeling good. Plus we just got out of there last week I don’t want to go back.” She muttered “I can manage.” She rest her head up against his shoulder, letting the sound of his heartbeat and the quiet tv in the background help her get to sleep for a bit.

He frowned and just nodded towards the car. “About that… Matt might have a reason for me to stay. Not definite. But maybe.” He told her. “That’s what our meeting is gonna be about.” He explained once they were in the car and on their way to get lunch.
