Realistic or Modern Put It Into Speed Drive

She glanced up at him and shook her head. “Nothings wrong I’m just tired. It’s been a long day. I had to socialise twice.” She giggled a little. “I uh… I do have some bad news though. Now that we’re having a baby you’re gonna have to meet my parents.” She told him.

He nodded and got up going to find someone. “Hey. She says she needs something for the pain. And I don’t know when she’s supposed to get the epidural but she’s waiting on that too.” He muttered, following the nurse back to the room and sat back down.

Eddie gave a small frown and nodded softly "I wish you could have met Wayne. He would have adored you." He murmured before giving her hand a squeeze "I promise to be on my best behavior too when I meet them."

Max talked with the nurse for a few minutes and thanked her when she said they'd be giving her the epidural here soon. She looked over at Jon and took a deep breath "You ready?"

She nodded slowly. “I can’t lie puppy they’re not gonna like you…. It’s not gonna be an easy visit. But it’ll be the only one we have to do until the next funeral.” She mumbled, “What happened to your parents?” She asked curiously. She’d listened to all his stories about Wayne and wishes she could’ve met him too but Eddie had always been guarded about his parents. She knew he had been with them til he was eleven though

He nodded slowly. “Do we have another choice?” He pointed out. Something had changed since she’d confronted him. He was keeping his distance more already but he didn’t seem on edge at all. Something just felt a little bit off now.

Eddie tensed instantly when she asked about his parents. He never spoke of them, it was the sorest of all subjects for him. He took a deep breath knowing this was something that would eventually need to get out in the open between the two of them "My uh...my mom died...car crash when I was eleven. She had uh....she had just dropped me off at Wayne's because her and my father were having a nasty fight and she didn't want me to see anymore of it. It was raining pretty bad that night and she lost control of the car...hit a tree and that was it." He explained before taking a deep shaky breath "Dad split after that....I think I heard he ended up in jail finally after a con went wrong. But my mom she was an angel on earth honestly. I dunno how she ended up with my piece of shit dad but she was something else." He explained quietly to her and frowned when he felt her hand wipe his face. He hadn't even realised he'd been crying since the start.

Max frowned deeply knowing all too well he was pulling away from her. "Jon please don't do this right now. Please don't pull away from me when I need you the most.." she begged quietly as she watched him look at her with what looked almost like disinterest in his eyes.

Carmen frowned, watching him carefully and reaching to wipe his tears. “I bet she’d be really proud of you now.” She smiled a little. “I love you.” She murmured, leaning over to peck his cheek. “I’m gonna go to bed alright? Don’t turn into a prune.” She smiled at him, getting up and stepping into their room.

He frowned and shook his head. “Im not. You’re being dramatic.” He muttered, standing up and walking around to stretch his legs a little.

Max frowned deeper and shook her head "Get out, I do not need this shit right now. I'd rather do it alone then with you here acting like this so go wait in the waiting room until its time. Then you can come back in." She said as she watched him get up to move around.

Eddie gave her a soft smile and nodded some "Promise I won't." He murmured before she left. He sat there for a bit thinking about his life and sighed softly. He finally got out around 30 minutes later and dried off before getting to bed with her for the night.

Carmen woke up late into the morning, frowning a little when she felt the empty space next to her but soon got up and wandered downstairs, heading the sound of Eddie playing his acoustic, for once recognising the song. “Hey I know this one.” She smiled, going to sit on the other couch, wrapping the blanket around her. “That’s uh… corroded coffin song. God I haven’t listened to them in years but I had a friend in high school who loved me too. We even went to one of their gigs.” She smiled proudly, usually in the dark about what he played and getting a lecture about good music every time. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Jon just nodded and left without another word, going out the front for a cigarette and taking a handful of pills, leaning back against the building. He didn’t feel in control of himself anymore and he was terrified but at this point he was also scared of getting help. Freaked out that it wouldn’t work considering it clearly hadn’t last time if he was back in the same position. Added onto that he no longer felt ready to have a kid. Not in the state he was in.

Eddie woke up the next morning and went downstairs starting to play his acoustic guitar. He looked at Carmen in a bit of shock when he listened to her "You saw Corroded Coffin live? Really?" He asked raising an eyebrow at her.

Max took a deep breath before she pulled out her phone and tried to call Jess asking if she could come down. She didn't want to be completely alone, but she would understand if Jess couldn't come.

She nodded "Yeah... Why? Listen, the lead singer was hot! God I wanted so bad to be one of his groupies back in the day... Eddie what are you looking at me like that for?!" She whined a little, getting up to go get some orange juice

Jess answered quickly and sighed "Honey I haven't even left the hospital yet I was worried something like this might happen. I'll be up there in two minutes." She promised

Eddie just stared in shock and shook his head "Must not have been that big of a fan if you don't recognise their lead guitarist." He teased laughimh as she came out with wide eyes "I didn't age that badly!"

Max looked at Jess when she arrived and took a deep breath "I don't know what to do Jess. I want him in our child's life, but I can't have him in it like this." She explained quietly

She came back out with her orange juice staring at him shocked, pulling her phone out and googling the band, getting up a photo of them and stood staring between him and the photo. “Holy. Fucking. Shit.” She muttered. “Oh my god. I have to call Steph. I gotta call her. I… I… oh my god! You asshole! The house, the car, your spending habits! That’s where the money comes from and… you stupid boy, you have let your ex wife think I’m a gold digger!” She pointed out, her brain going a mile a minute until he moved and she felt him hold her shoulders.

She shook her head. “No you can’t. At least not in the way you initially thought but look at me. We’re gonna get him help alright? Cause we both know that’s not Jon out there. Not your Jon.” She coaxed. “And yet, that’s a problem for later honey, first priority is let get this little one here safe and sound.” She smiled at her, giving her hand a squeeze.

Eddie put his guitar down and chuckled some before going over to her. He grabbed her shoulders and kissed her forehead "Don't worry okay? Everything is fine." He murmured before kissing her gently "Mmm but I'm gonna have to tell Jamie about your little crush."

Max gave a small nod "Thank you Jess, I needed to hear that." She said softly before taking a deep breath. It was another hour or so before the nurses said it was time to go. By the time the baby had arrived Max was starting to fade in and out hearing the sobs of her daughter before passing out.

She blushed bright red and shook her head. “Oh I really hope you don’t. I had posters of him all over my bedroom wall too.” She told him. “I think I like the guitarist too though.” She smiled, leaning up and kissing him. “Mmm just a little bit.” She giggled, pulling back when his phone rang with ozzys ringtone and she went to make them some breakfast.

Jon was still hanging out in the waiting room by that point, wanting desperately to fix everything or at least have it back to how it was yesterday. He looked up when Jess came out, wringing his hands nervously. “We have a boy or a girl?” He asked her

Eddie smiled and pecked her lips "Mmm I wouldn't mind you being my groupie." He told her before letting her go off. He frowned softly as he answered his phone "Hey Ozzy, how are you doing buddy?" He said happily

Jess came out to find Jon and sighed softly "A little girl, they're taking her to the NICU right now to check over everything. Max is uh...they're trying to make sure she is okay too. She lost a lot of blood and passed out right after everything." She explained to him

Ozzy frowned a little and kept looking to see if his mom or Kurt was coming. “You said you were gonna come get me…. Daddy I wanna come live with you.” He told him “Why didn’t you come get me?”

He nodded, chewing on his lip and got up. “I wanna see her…. Just once. Then I’ll go.” He mumbled, following Jess closely.

Eddie frowned deeply and took a deep breath "I know buddy, did the police come by yesterday? I can't take you away right now, if I do that then I could loose you." He explained as simply as he could

Jess frowned deeply and gave a small nod taking him towards the NICU "I won't get into anything right now with you. Just know that you're not going to be near that baby while you're like this." She explained quietly

He sniffled and frowned. “I don’t understand!” He told him sniffling but quickly hung up when he heard his mom yelling for him.

Carmen walked back out to him with a fruit bowl and some cereal, “here. Ed we will get him safer. Promise.”

He nodded, standing at the window with her. “I know Jess. I don’t need to hear it from you.” He muttered, staring at the one she pointed out. Staring at his daughter. He stood there for almost fifteen minutes before finally nodding and shoving his hands in his pockets. “Alright…. Let max know I won’t bother her.” He muttered, not worried about her all that much only because he was sure in his mind she would be okay.

It was another three months before Eddie was even able to take what evidence he did have to a lawyer. He was hopeful that what he had would be enough to show that Ozzy was not safe with Chrissy and Kurt. He sat at the bar his phone close as he waited for a phone call from the lawyer glancing up when he saw Carmen come in with lunch "Hey beautiful." He murmured softly giving her a soft smile.

Max sat at the house a bit giddy to finally see Jon again. She hadn't seen him since Grace was born, the club having sent him straight to rehab once everything came out about his addiction. They'd talked a few times and he had written her a few letters as well, but other than that she really hadn't talked to him much since everything. She just really hoped they could make things work between them for their daughter; even if it meant them not being a couple.

She smiled and headed straight over to him while one of the staff was cleaning up for tonight. “Hey, got you a Big Mac and a vanilla milkshake.” She smiled, setting his food down next to his paperwork. “She’s kicking the hell out of me today.” She mumbled, sitting down with him. She was having a rough pregnancy. Worse than what Chrissy had dealt with apparently and it was really killing her excitement a lot of the time.

Jon was sat in the taxi, watching the familiar streets as they passed until he turned down theirs, chewing the inside of his lip a little. He wanted to be home finally and he wanted to be with his family more than anything, ready to slow down a little with the club. He got out with his bag and thanked the driver, paying for it before heading up to the front door and rang the bell, immediately pulling max into a hug when she opened the door.

Eddie gave her a small smile and reached out for her "Oh yeah? She kicking now?" He asked hopefully while kissing her hand gently and taking the food from her "Other than her kicking you been feeling alright today?"

Max went to the door and smiled seeing Jon on the other side. She hugged him tightly for a minute before letting him inside and guiding him to the living room where there daughter was layed out in her playpen "Theres someone who wants to meet you." She said softly before picking up Grace.

She shrugged a little and placed his hand where she was kicking. “I managed to get out the house at least.” She told him quietly, watching the way he stared at her bump. “Is Ozzy still coming down this weekend?” She asked him.

He followed her in, setting his bags down and kicking the door shut, going in to see how much their little girl had grown. “Hey there. Oh hey sweetheart. You’re so much bigger than the last time I saw you.” He murmured, taking her into his arms immediately. “I’m home. I’m home princess and I’m not going anywhere.”

Eddie gave a small nod and smiled "Thats the plan still. Hopefully Chrissy isn't a bitch about it." He murmured shakinh his head some. She had been awful since he filed for custody and he was tired of it all.

Max smiled widely as Grace looked at Jon a bit confused before giving him a big smile "Oh she remembers you." She said happily. She watched him some and bit her lip gently "So um.....you wanna talk now or later?"

He frowned a little and looked over at her, sitting down holding his little girl close. “Let’s get it over with. Rip that bandaid off.” He sighed.

“You gotta start communicating only through text and email unless it’s an emergency.” She told him. “Or recording your calls.” She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder. “You ready for the trip to my parents next week?” She asked him.

Max gave a small sigh and nodded as she sat down with him "What do you want to do? Do you want to try and continue with us?" She asked softly as she watched him

Eddie gave a heavy sigh and nodded as he started to eat his food "Yeah I am, it'll go okay don't worry." He murmured softly

He stared at her confused. “I… honey that was never a question. You thought I ended up in that way because I didn’t want to be with you?” He asked her seriously. “Cause that couldn’t be further from the truth.”

She nodded and sighed a little, “I better get going. I’ve got some more homework to finish. But call me when you’re leaving. Please. Puts my mind at ease these days.” She smiled, pecking his cheek and got up carefully to start heading out to her car, waving as she left to her best friend who had moved to the area. Hee friend she had managed to get a job for at the bar.
