Ozzy shook his head and grinned up at his dad. “Nuh unh! He yells at me all the time but I tell him he’s not my real dad.” He told Eddie, “Why can’t I see you more though? Maybe… maybe you and Carly can come live near me and mommy and Kurt.” He told him.

Jon nodded and smiled. “Yeah. Just a little tired beautiful.” He told her. “I love you.” He told her, “let’s go see our little jelly bean.” He smiled, kissing her gently and opened her car door for her.

Eddie frowned deeply and gave a small nod "Maybe bud. You know you can call me whenever right? Remember the number I gave you?" He asked watching him a bit

Max kissed him back and got in sighing softly. As they got to the hospital she got herself checked in and sat down with him "So what are you hoping for? Boy or girl?"

He smiled a little. “If it’s a boy we’re in trouble. If it’s a girl we’re in trouble. I’m hoping they got my attitude is what I’m hoping for.” He teased her

He shook his head and looked up at him. “Mommy took it away. She found it in my bag after I came over last time.” He told him.

Max laughed and rolled her eyes some "I think its gonna be a girl." She murmured as she rubbed gentle circles on her bump. Once they called them back she got up and followed them back getting situated to have the ultrasound done.

Eddie frowned deeply and gave a heavy sigh "Alright then...well I'll give it to you again and hide it where mom can't find it." He murmured ruffling his hair a bit "Your hair is getting long huh? You gonna cut it?"

He nodded and cuddled in close "Daddy you gotta be quiet this is my favorite part." He told him, hugging his Dad's arm.

Carmen poked her head in a little while later and smiled "Hey, sorry to interrupt boys but I'm going to work. Ed I'll be back tonight so I've left your painkillers in your nightstand drawer for how long I'll be gone. I went and grabbed snacks and treats. They're in the kitchen. Perfect for a movie day." She winked at Ed, waving to the little boy before leaving.

Jon was starting to get a little twitchy by this point. He hadn't taken any of his pills before he left the house, using the time while Max was distracted talking to the technician to swallow a couple with some water out of her bag, finally turning back and smiling "You still wanna wait til they're here to know?" He asked her quietly, taking her hand

Eddie looked up at Carmen and gave her a heart felt smile nodding some "Thanks babe." He said before getting up and making them some food for dinner.

Max smiled happily and nodded "Yes I don't want to know until we have them." She said before kissing his cheek gently "I love you." She murmured giving his hamd a squeeze "If you want to go see Alex while I see the doctor I don't mind. They're just gonna do a quick check up."

He nodded and pecked her cheek, "Make sure you get them to give you two copies of that. I want one in my wallet." He smiled, heading out and going to find out where Alex was, making his way to the room and knocked gently before walking in, "Hey, how's he doing?" He asked Kelly, taking her a bottle of soda he'd picked up for her and sat next to her.

She headed into work and sighed a little, shaking her head seeing Wendy rushing towards her looking stressed "He's fine. Sore but fine. He'll be back to work in a couple days. Strictly in the office though." she muttered, finally walking straight past her and into the office to see Charlie "Hey, I uh, I wanted to come talk to you real quick. I need to come and give you a piece of paper." She smiled a little, handing him the neatly typed up notice of resignation she'd written earlier "I've got on that university course I was trying for." She told him happily

Kelly hugged Jon instantly as he came in "He woke up briefly just a little bit ago. So far they've said everything is looking okay, his body is just in a resting state." She explained quietly before sitting back down.


Charlie smiled widely at her taking the letter "Is that so? Well congratulations sweetheart. You told Ed yet?" He asked as he placed the letter to the side.

She shook her head "He knows I applied. We aren't really... I found out about his son when his son showed up to the hospital yesterday." She explained, "But yeah we discussed me just focusing on uni. I'll still be around if you need someone short notice when people don't show up but mostly I'll be focusing on studies." She told him, "I better go get started on side work though, I'll catch you later." She smiled at him and headed out to the bar.

He nodded "What's the damage?" He asked quietly, shaking his head "Kell I swear there was no indication we had been followed. I wouldn't have let him go home alone if there was." He sighed, feeling awful about it considering it very well could have been him in that spot. "You need anything at all you let me know alright?" He promised her.

Jess gave her a small smile as she came out to the bar "You were in there for a bit. Can I assume we won't be seeing you much more because of school?" She asked hopefully completely happy to see Carmen furthering herself for the better.

Kelly explained everything and thanked him "I just want him home." She said softly

She nodded and smiled, "Everything on the up for now." She told her "I'll still be around obviously. And I'll come rescue you from Eddie when it's required." She told her, "But it's time I actually focus on what I want to do."

-2 months-
Carmen paced back and forth in their bathroom, half listening to Eddie on the phone in the other room to who she assumed was Chrissy from the sound of frustration in his voice. Normally she would be there as well to note down what was being said as a witness for him but she was preoccupied waiting impatiently for the three pregnancy tests she'd taken to be ready. She was excited at the idea and yet with everything else they had going on, her starting university courses and Eddie taking over from the bar entirely so Charlie could retire, she was worried that now wasn't going to be a good time. Eventually her timer went off and she stepped over, staring down at the sticks on the counter until the bathroom door opened and she felt eddie's arms around her from behind, "You think Ozzy will want a little brother or a little sister?" She asked him, smiling a little.

Jon pulled Max's car into his driveway after going to the store for a last supply run for the party for today, carrying the bahs inside "I'm back. I got you a ten pack of those smoothies as well. Try to get them to last until the weekend." He called to Max. They'd decided to move into his house with the more room for once the baby arrived. Things had been going downhill at the club lately with all the threats coming from the AB and having Alex so up and down. He still wasn't back to work and Jon still felt guilty about the whole thing. His control over the pills had all but disappeared after the incident and now he was right back where he had been before the lub had forced him into rehab. The only difference was that he knew how to hide it better this time around. "Hey gorgeous." He smiled as he walked into the kitchen and found her sitting at the table, "Jess is gonna be here in an hour to help set up she said this morning." He murmured, pecking her cheek before unpacking all the stuff

Eddie sighed heavily as he hung up the phone on Chrissy unable to continue talking with her. He had wanted Ozzy for the upcoming weekend but yet again she denied him the chance. It had been nearly 6 weeks since he last saw his son and he just wanted some time with him. He went into the restroom and hid his face in Carmen's hair as he wrapped his arms around her finding comfort and relaxation there. He pulled back a bit when he heard her and went wide eyed "What?! No, you're kidding me!" He said happily

Max looked up at him and smiled softly kissing him gently "Mmm sounds great." She murmured before yawning some. Things had been tense lately, not between them, but the stress from the club was getting Jon and she could tell. She was worried about him but she hoped things would find a way to settle down once the baby arrived in less than 2 months.

Carmen leaned back into him and nodded, "I'll make an appointment for tomorrow. Go find out how far along.... We haven't exactly been careful Ed." She smiled, turning to face him and lifting herself up to sit on the bathroom counter, pulling him in close "What was Chrissy saying?" She asked him quietly. She'd learnt to despise that woman after hearing from Ozzy that she had caught him calling Eddie to tell him about his day at school and removed his bedroom door as a punishment. "I was thinking for christmas why don't we go up there? She can't not let you see him if we're in the area." She pointed out

Jon smiled a little and nodded "Oh I spoke to Ed yesterday while I was doing a drop. He was saying that the best thing him and his ex did when his kid was born was start getting a meal prep service. So they didn't have to worry about food or healthy eating for ages while they were settling into the new routine.... So I found a couple to pick from and I was thinking we should try them now so you know which one you'll want for after she gets here." He told her, shutting the fridge and going to wash his hands.

Eddie smiled widely and nodded "I know, but its still a good surprise." He said happily before kissing all over her face. He frowned when she mentioned Chrissy and sighed heavily "She won't let me see him again. Says this weekend they have family functions which I know is fucking bullshit. She's just pissed because Ozzy is actually asking again to come see me." He muttered before pressing his head to her shoulder "I think that would be a great idea for Christmas."

Max smiled softly and gave a nod "That sounds like a great idea actually." She said happily before getting up and wrapping her arms around his torso "You excited? Just a little under two months and we get to meet them." She said happily

She nodded and smiled, swaying happily with him. “I love you.” She murmured, “best behaviour at the baby shower today. No telling anyone about us. It’s their day not ours plus I wanna wait a little while anyway.” She told him, pulling away to go get dressed when she heard his phone ringing again and saw Ozzys name come up.

He nodded and smiled at her some. “I’m not ready but I am excited.” He told her, kissing her head before turning her to lean back against him and lifted her bump ever so slightly. “You wanna shower with me?” He asked her.

Eddie smiled happily and gave her a salute "You got it ma'am!" He said before kissing her cheek quickly and answering his phone "Hey there Bud whats up?" He asked happily

Max groaned in appreciation as he lifted her bump "Mmm yes please, then I can get ready for the party." She murmured before kissing under his chin gently "You feeling okay babe?"

Ozzy was sniffling on the other end, wiping his eyes and frowning. “Daddy? Daddy I don’t wanna be with mommy anymore.” He cried. “I wanna… I wanna come stay with you.” He cried, “I don’t wanna live with Kurt no more.” He told him, sobbing down the line.

He nodded and smiled. “I’m fine. Let’s go get that shower then I can help Jess set up.” He told her, just wanting to avoid that subject. He wasn’t okay and it was making him worry that she was starting to notice it as well

Eddie frowned deeply when he heard how upset his son was "Ozzy? Hey hey calm down for me just a second okay? Tell me whats wrong, I can't help if you don't calm down okay? I gotta understand your words." He told him calmly

Max nodded softly and kissed his cheek "Mmm alright then." She murmured before taking him to the restroom to start up the shower.

He kept crying for a few more minutes until finally he calmed down enough. “I wanna come live with you and Carmen Daddy. I don’t wanna live here no more.” He told him, whimpering a little. “I don’t wanna live with Kurt. He’s mean and he hurt me. I spilt some orange juice on his newspaper and he hit me.” He told him frowning.

He made his a quick one, leaving her to take all the time she needed while he got dressed and ready, going to take a couple pills before finally heading downstairs to open the door for Jess. “Hey, she’s just got out the shower.”

Eddie went wide eyed when he heard his son say that he had been hurt "You give me just a bit okay? I'll be there tonight to get you." He explained before giving a heavy sigh "Go stay in your room okay? I need to talk with Carmen real quick."

Jess gave a nod and smiled softly at him "Alright sounds great, how is she doing?" She asked as she put down some of the supplies she had brought over.

“Okay daddy… I love you.” He told him frowning until his dad hung up.

Carmen stood up from her dresser, done with her makeup and hair for the day, frowning at the look on his face. “What happened?” She asked him. She had seen Eddie pissed off but this was beyond that. This was pure rage. “Ed do not do something stupid. Remember where you stand with the courts. Do not give them reason to think you’re no good for Ozzy.” She warned him gently.

“Getting real tired but other than that she’s doing great.” He smiled. “I’m gonna go pick up the cake and I’ll be right back. Should only be twenty minutes.” He told her, heading out.

Eddie looked at her enraged and shook his head some "The fuck am I supposed to do huh?! My fucking kid calls me sobbing because my ex's piece of shit boyfriend layed hands on him and I'm not supposed to go get him?!" He yelled before taking a shaky breath "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to yell at you. I'm not mad at you I just....fucking hell he's being hurt and I can't save him."

Max came down once she was ready and smiled widely finding Jess setting up the food table "Hey there! Thank you so much for helping with this." She said happily before givimg her friend a hug.

She frowned and shook her head. “You call the cops near her. You call the cops to go over for a welfare check. And you do it calmly.” She coaxed. “Cause if Ozzy is telling the truth then that helps pit you in better favor with the court for handling it well. If you go get him then they’re going to file a restraining order.” She pointed out. “I want him here too but we have to do this properly even if it is bullshit.” She placed a hand on his chest “Breathe. Slow down.”

Jess smiled and nodded. “It’s no problem sweetheart. Kelly just texted to say Alex isn’t gonna make it but she’ll be down shortly. Ed and Carmen shouldn’t be too long then Drew is picking up Matt and Lizzy.” She smiled at her. It was a small group of people but they were a tight knit family unit. The rest of the club were still close with the men but Jess had been picky with who she chose to be friends with out of the women anyway.

Eddie took a shaky breath as he started to calm down and nodded softly "Right....I'll call them now." He murmured before kissing her lovingly "I don't know what I'd do without you." He said softly before going to make the call.

Max nodded happily "Sounds perfect." She said happily before she helped her get the food out. She gasped softly when she felt arms go around her and laughed lightly "Jon are you trying to get me to pee myself?"

He chuckled and pecked her cheek. “Wouldn’t dream of it beautiful.” He told her, heading up to go get changed for the event.

Carmen sighed quietly, going downstairs and shaking her head a little. She was worried for Ozzy but also for Ed. She hated seeing how much he had to walk on eggshells to make sure he didn’t lose what little access he had to his son already on top of knowing how unhappy Ozzy was with his moms boyfriend.
