Fandom Puella Magi: Universe

After inspection, Arashi found nothing of particular interest inside the building. The eerie stillness struck her with suspicion, but there was no evidence to suggest that she had a plausible reason to investigate further. With reluctance, she departed the house with only one prudent glance behind her. Perhaps it was once important, or it will sometime be important. Either way, it was not currently of significance.

As she continued her internal cartography of the city, she noticed a few of the magical girls from earlier inside a tea shop talking with... Someone. She would have dismissed it as simply a friend, but she saw Kyubey run off, presumably to screw up someone else's day. She walked inside, not particularly interested in the tea.

As she approached them, she didn't bother to try to hide the fact that she was there solely for them, staring basically straight at them with the most unreadable of expressions. Once she made it to the table, she waited for a beak in speech before addressing them. "What's going on here?" she asked in a monotonous voice. She didn't want to give any of her emotions away; that's the easiest way to be exploited. She learned that from Kyubey the hard way.

@all y'all

Yui quickly arrives at the tea shop. she sees Tsubaki and katja with a new girl. The hirl from earlier was also there . Yui didnt care about the arguing at the moment. Yui goes and sits next to tsubaki. " i am glad we all survive the yoma battles. What have i missed?" Yui then rest her head on tsubaki arm. Yui feeling tired.

" Not much" Katja said before looking to Arashi for a second she believed this girl was the so called rouge that Kuybey had mentioned.

" Ah Arashi have you reconsidered your stance on helping the others then?" Kyubey said framing it so that any response would sound more like her goign against the girls rather than him.

" If you are not willing to help with the upcoming Beltane please leave " Katja said simply there was not time to be wasted on those who were just going to well sap their resources and give nothing back.

Tsubaki looked up at Arashi as she approached them. She gestured to Max with her head, "Just answering her questions on everything. Better than her jumping in completely blind, that's for sure." The girl stopped, giving Yui a weird look as she leaned against her. "Well I'm still alive, so there's that . . . " Part of her wanted to nudge Yui off her shoulder. Tsubaki really didn't know her and she wasn't all that crazy about an acquaintance using her for a pillow. Before she got a chance to speak though, Kyubey called Arashi out.

"Katja, let's not go starting a fight . . ." She warned before motioning towards a chair. "Pull up a seat if you want. We might have to move to a bigger table before long though." What was supposed to be a one on one meeting had quickly turned into a rather large gathering.

Max felt a sense of overload filling her as the new magical girls showed up. "God, I wish I could understand what was going on with you guys half the time." She then held a finger up to Kyubey. "Don't take that as an invitation." She then looked at the two new people that had entered. "Name's Max."

Arashi glanced at the girl, waiting for Kyubey to finish rudely interrupting their conversation. "I have no quarrel with helping fellow magical girls. I have a quarrel helping you and your selfish ways. I will not join your sadistic game if in the end only one of us would benefit from the senseless horror we would have to face. I will do what is necessary to protect my village, but I will do nothing for you," she responded to him.

"As for staying, I am afraid I don't have the luxury of relaxing at a time like this," she began to respond to the latter. "Unfortunately, it seems as though there is a lot of activity to the east, and I am afraid this conversation must wait until my village has been securely ripped from yoma clutches."

Looking at the girl who was clearly merely interested in making a contract, she stared coldly into her eyes. "Whatever you do, don't listen to a thing that creature has to say to you. He will twist the conversation to his favor at a moment's notice, and no doubt has left out important aspects of how the contract works conveniently out of the conversation. He doesn't tell you about the calamity a wish brings. 'Wherever there is an action, there is an equal and opposite reaction' as they say. Don't believe for a second that that creature or yourself is exempt from that rule."

After her rather dramatic soliloquy ended, she abruptly took her leave, not willing to argue with whoever may have disagreed with her. Magical girls always trusted Kyubey first. She couldn't blame them, but she could grieve for their loss of conscience.

" hmm seems like she is lashing out" Kaytja said assuming that Arashi was like so many others and only saw they didn't get their perfect wish and didn't realize that they had misworded what they wanted. If Katja could think like that she guessed she too might blame Kyubey but to her it was a contract just like he said and she hadn't thought it out.

" I hope you all can see why i consider her a threat, to stopping the Beltane she says she may wish to save her village but what if her home was threatened and the beltane happened she would likely pick to leave you all destroying any plans you may have had Kyubey explained as he knew that such a divide would not suit the team well " She also gives me far to much credit as if i cause what happens, you make a wish you get what you wished for anything that happens because of the wish or to compensate for the wish is not my doing somethings you just can't change"

" i am sorry tsubaki. I didnt mean to rest my head on you. So what going on i didnt get much from kyubey. I was concern over you all after the fight i had. Tsubaki i want to know how you feel after your battle.

I dont know about that kyubey. I like to meet the girl on a one on one basic. If that can be arranged kyubey. If you want to be paspeific we all made our wishes out of selfishness. It what we do now. That i care about."

" I will give this advice on wishes as it has come up i have seen many girls make selfless wishes or at least what they thought were selfless, it is best to just be honest and wish for something you want that could help others if used otherwise you will end up like Arashi. Kyubey said actually ignoring the request to arrange a meet up as well Arashi hated him so he was now more than willing to just leave her out of the loop, she would be busy, very busy very soon.

Max frowned at Arashi's monologue. I believe her, I definitely do. Kyubey seems like the kind to manipulate and trick people into doing what he wants, and he certainly seems willing to leave key points out to reach his end. She then looked around at all the other magical girls gathered. On the other hand, they certainly seem fine with it. As far as I know, he keeps his promise. You get a wish, gotta play it like a genie and be specific, but otherwise you get it, and in return you fight Yoma. Being able to not only get my wish, but also save lives? I see practically no downside, beyond my own life being in peril. Yet I can't shake the feeling I'm missing something. Her words echoed in her head:

"Every action has an equal-opposite reaction." A basic Newtonian law. Equivalent Exchange, one might say. Yet how does it apply in this context? She can't mean fighting Yomas, as that's pretty blatantly a part of the deal. I also want to see a Yoma before I make my wish, therefore the difficulty of one is also out of the question. If I hurt a Yoma, and it hurts me back, that's already equivalent exchange. So if I make my wish... and it hurts me back... could that be what she meant? Is there more to a wish then the genie perspective?

" The cost is deducted from our energy reserves which you replenish with grief seeds, however sometimes there is a karmic debt , fate if you will that something will happen say you make a wish to stop a hurricane while that is prevented some other catastrophe may happen, it may do more damage it may do less damage that is up tot he karmic debt. But with the right wish this can be negated and if the wish is small the debt will be almost nothing meaning there likely won't be much of a reaction." Kuybey said revealing he was at least watching over everyones' minds encase they wanted to speak mentally.

" i dont understand all this technical talk. If anyone needs me. You know how to contact me. I be leaving now bye."

Not waiting for an answer from anyone. Yui gets up an leaves. She wants to talk to the girl that believes kyubey hiding something. Yui known for awhile she couldnt fully trust kyubey kind. A species that believes emotions are a mental illness cant be fully trust worthy. Before yui left she sends kyubey a message in her mind. "Please meet me later. I have more questions for you. My room like normal."

Upon consideration, she decided that the lot had been abandoned for quite some time, and it couldn't hurt to use it as her home away from home, at least for a little while. She walked inside the now familiar house, looking around to see what she could do to tidy up. It looked as though there were dust everywhere, but nothing else. Just how she remembered. Except, was that couch there before...?

Either way, she decided she was just imagining things. She used the wind to pick up and carry most of the dust out the windows. Once she did that, she looked around, trying to familiarize herself with the layout of the house. It was a decent sized house, though one could easily get lost in the mind boggling passageways. She wasn't sure she had seen every room, but what she had seen looked in order, so she decided to just rest on the suspicious couch.

"Huh. And here I was thinking throwing ourselves at eldritch monsters was the price of a wish. Nope, huh? Guess that's just a bonus then." Max popped another sugar cube into her mouth and chewed whilst aimlessly thinking about, IF she decides to be a magical girl, what her wish would be. She'd have to think long and carefully; this karmic debt thing put a whole new spin on the process.

As yui walks home she notices someone in an abandoned house. It looks like the girl from earlier. The one telling her and the others not to trust kyubey. Yui decided to meet her on her own. As much as yui hated to admit it she needed to train with someone with powers simuliar to hers. She walks to the front door and knocks on it. "Hello, are you there?" Says yui.

Arashi was in no mood for more socializing, but she begrudgingly answered regardless. Opening the door, she realized that one of the magical girls followed her. "What is it?" she asked plainly. She was hoping to get this over with quickly, but that was unlikely given the circumstances.

" sorry, i didnt mean to bother you. I saw you in this house as i was walking by it. My name is yui nagaski. Can we talk about the magical girl stuff?" Yui patiently wait for a response. She hopes she wont be sent away.

Arashi stared at her for a moment. "Okay," was all she said briskly turning around to go sit on the couch. She hadn't made tea or anything to eat for that matter, but they might just forgo those customs altogether. Which was fine, since she wouldn't have to do much work. As she sat, she turned her attention back to Yui, fixing her gaze to analyze.

" Kyubey says we cant trust you and that your some kind of rouge magical girl. What happen for that to be the case? I thougt kyubey didnt get involve in our matters as long as we collect the greif seeds and defeat yoma." Yui says while coughing. Her breathing feels heavy suddenly. Kinda like her lungs have fluid in them.

Arashi blinked, though she didn't look surprised. "And you would trust that creature? After all it's doe to magical girls?" she asked bluntly, her gaze piercing Yui's. The cough didn't much bother her, mainly because she didn't want to concern herself with the matters of others.

" sorry for coughing in your face. Honestly no i dont completely trust something that believes emotions are a mental illness. I want to hear your side of the story and i make my own judgement on who i talk to. I been searching out magical girls to talk to them for 3 weeks." Yui says as she coughs again. She turn her head hold her hands over her mouth as she does.

"I don't have a side to the story. There is only one side that is worth your time to learn. That is his. The incubator's. He is the reason for the calamity of the world. Before he arrived to harvest magical girls, there was no such thing as a yoma. There was no such thing as magical girls. He is the reason we suffer. He is the reason for so much destruction in the world. He created the very problem he's pretending to solve. There was never a time when he wasn't trying to con someone into believing that he could help them. He only helps himself. Whoever pays the price for his greed is not of his concern. But we all share the burden of paying that price. We are the ones who truly suffer. He only pretends to care, offering to 'help' us overcome this 'unavoidable' enemy. I wouldn't be surprised if he intentionally coerced his way into making the beltane himself." She used a rather calm voice, but her emphasis showed her disdain for the creature, unable to completely conceal her anger for its very existence.

Katja looked to the two girls, both were in some essence under her charge, or she interpreted the requests of Kyubey as placing them in her care. This could work out well enough if they encountered a Yoma then Tsubaki could get more experience and Max could see a Yoma first hand.

" You two will accompany me during my rounds for the day, it will allow you to get extra training and to see a Yoma if we encounter one" Katja said her phrasing of the request sounding more like an order.

Tsubaki quirked an eyebrow at Katja as she finished her statement. "Would it kill you to say please?" She muttered as she stood. "But fine, I'll follow if you want. Kyubey will pretty much be perched on your shoulder, just so you know Max." It only seemed fair to give her a heads up.

"Okay," Max said with a shrug. This was what she wanted, after all. She was perfectly fine with Kyubey perching on her shoulders, if he did that. It wouldn't really be the first time, and after all his short, stubby legs could hardly keep up. Besides, any extra protection would be welcome.
