In cooperation with game designers, engineers, physicians and chemists, the largest company in the world created something in 2020 that changed the gaming industry forever. A gaming console so powerful it have life to everything on it's own. Programming was done to set up the fate of the world created, but life itself flourished on it's own. It was called "Project Lynnvale". It is a virtual reality MMORPG game that offers an exciting life for those who seem to be bored with their own.
In this game, the only limit is your imagination and a few restrictions. In this medieval world you can be whatever you want, and shape your life the way you want it to be! Although everyone starts at the bottom.
The developers of Project Lynnvale overlooked something terrible. A flaw that was too late to fix. The world began crawling with dangerous creatures. The only thing the developers could do to stop this was balance their strength with the players'. They gave them levels, abilities, stats and everything else so they could start fighting back. It cannot be fixed, but it can be maintained.
Now those brave enough to face the threat go out for hunts, kill those beasts and help out those in need. Those are the real heroes! And you are one of them.

Go to Rules and Regulations for more information.
Read this THOROUGHLY! I will not accept applications that did not read through this!
When you start, you are level one, with the race and class you choose. As you fight monsters and/or do quests, you gain experience and level up, unlocking skills and useful perks. Starting characters can have one active and one passive skill of their class (Be creative), a racial perk and a starter weapon. Do not god mode when fighting monsters, lose from time to time, sacrifice something, be a good role player. Do not fight the boss without reaching the required level, otherwise you WILL lose.
When you kill a normal monster, you get the experience from a range provided in each zone to help you level up. The amount of experience is chosen by the player in the given range. The amount of experience is decided by the difficulty of the battle. When you kill a zone boss you are automatically moved to the next zone, and get the rewards set for that boss. When fighting the boss, the GM will be in control of the boss' actions. Every zone has a level range that it is possible to level up. For example: Zone one would be levels 1-5, and when you reach five, you must defeat the boss and advance to the next zone, otherwise you will not get any more experience in that zone. Of course you can go to town before going to fight the boss to advance, but experience is no longer given to you by monster fights.
Every town will have a wide range of NPC's in need for help and if you help them they will give you rewards. The rewards will be set to the quests by the GM but you will be able to role play them give you the rewards yourself so you do not need to wait for a GM's reply.

Each player starts at level one and are available to spend their stat points, skill points as they wish, as well as they get a started weapon.
Everyone spawns first in Ashview, the starting town, and are level one. Every zone has hunting areas, a town, and a zone boss. It's placed adjacent to one another, meaning that the further you go out, the stronger the mobs are in each area.
Every five levels you are allowed to learn one passive or one active skill of your imagination.
The world is a virtual reality, so you can basically do everything you could do in real world.
Everyone starts with 600 Gold and x1 Lesser Health Potion that can be used until zone #4.
In this roleplay we have a leveling system. How much EXP you need to get in order to advance to the next level is in every zone's description, so pay attention to that. It's in format x/y, where x the amount you have, and y the amount needed to level up. When you level up, if you have any leftovers of experience, they transfer to the next level, they do not go away.
Upon level up, you get 2 stat points to allocate wherever you wish, and every 3 levels you get a new ability to learn.
Races are but a vanity in this game with one racial perk that you assign them. A race you have solely depends on you, however, it may not be God, Angel, Demon or anything else religious and/or immortal! Racial perk is just like a passive skill.
When picking a class, think of what your character will do in the game. Will they be a swordsman, a magician, a trader, a woodcutter? It can be really anything you want, it doesn't have to even be a fighting class, though that might become a problem when facing enemies.
Stats are the most tedious part of this role play, believe me, and some of you might get scared at this point. I understand you completely. Just take some time to read through all of it before deciding not to try it.
These are the current stats in the game:
Damage - Increases character's basic damage dealt with basic attacks, ranged, melee or magic.
Defense - Increases character's base defense.
Speed - Increases player's movement speed and dodge rate.
Attack Speed - Increases player's attack speed.
Clarity - Increases character's healing, buffing and debuffing abilities.
Speech - Increases the character's bargaining skills, lowering the shop prices, and increasing selling prices.
Stats in this game are decided with letters ranging from J to A in the alphabet, J being the lowest. To get a higher letter in your stat, you have to spend five points on a certain stat. Example: If my Damage stat is J4, and I add one more point to it, it becomes I0 and I can add points to it again until it becomes I4, then if I add one more point it goes to I5 which automatically turns to H0. When you reach A no more points can be added to the stat!
How these stats determine you in power you will find out in the "Battles" section!
You get 10 stat points at start
Crafting doesn't unlock until level 6, so I will put it up until then, it still needs work.
There are two current types of skills - Active skills, and Passive skills. Both of these types have different, varying effects, and also their limitations.
First of all, let's look at Active skills.
Active skills are those that a character can use once before it goes into slight cooldown. This will perform a certain action. Mostly, these skills are considered attack skills, but can also be transformation, buff, healing skills and so on.
An active skill also has it's limitations. Active skills can only have stat values, damage values and battle post durations.
Stat values - When creating a skill with stat values, a level 1 skill cannot exceed the stat value of 1. Meaning that if your skill increases a certain stat, it can only be increased by one point! This amount only increases every other level.
Damage values - Damage value skills use the similar system to stats. They also go from J to A in alphabetical order. The first level of a skill is always I, and this letter goes up the alphabet with every level.
Battle post durations - This type of skill applies for buffs mostly. What this means is that when you cast a buff on yourself or an ally, or cast a debuff on an enemy, it lasts for a certain amount of posts where they are in a battle. The maximum amount of battle posts duration for a level one skill is 2, and every level it rises by 1.
Passive skills.
Passive skills are those that are always active on the character of get activated when certain conditions around the character are met. They are mostly stat increasing skills.
A passive skill also has it's limitations. They can only have stat values and stat variable.
Stat values - When creating a spell with stat values, a level 1 skill cannot exceed the stat value of 1. Meaning, that if I was to create a passive skill that increases my strength, the maximum number could not exceed 1! Leveling up a stat value skill, the value increases by 1 every third level. Meaning that level 4 would increase it by 2 points, level 7 - 3, and level 10 - 4.
Stat variables - Stat variable skills increase a certain stat depending on certain conditions, mostly other stats. For example, a skill that increases 1 Strength per every 5 defense. The maximum stat variable that increases a stat at level 1 cannot exceed 1, and the "per" number has to always be 4+. Meaning, that, for example, if I was to create a skill that increases my strength by 1 depending on defense, the first number could not exceed 1, and the second could not be lower than 5. Example:
Increases 1 Strength per every 5 Defense. Basically, the smallest "per" number would be one letter. Also, when upgrading this skill, the first number goes up by 1 every three levels, and the second number rises by 2.
Quick side note: If you have a skill that increases a stat or certain damage, you cannot have a second skill that touches the same stat or damage!
The maximum level of a skill is 10.
NOTE: In order to learn a new skill every three levels, you first have to run the skill by me so I would decide if it is not too OP or modify it if it was! It will be done so in the OOC thread, accordingly to the instructions.
There are a few predefined skills:
<Mount> - Mounting a creature that is strong enough to ride it. Increases Speed by TWO letters.
<Taming> - Gives the character an ability to tame beast looking creatures.
NOTE: Usage of skills cost your character's energy and have cooldowns. If you character uses too much skills, they will get tired and eventually faint!
Equipment in this roleplay has a big influence. If your equipment is outdated, fighting monsters should and will be harder and/or impossible. These are the equipment types you can equip:
Offensive:
Right hand Weapon or Shield:
Left Hand Weapon or Shield:
Or Both Hands:
Defensive:
Helmet:
Body:
Legs:
Feet:
Acceessories:
Hands:
Finger:
Ear:
Neck:
Face:
Back:
Each of these slots can bare one piece of equipment you chose to use in your application. Except for accessories. Anyone can equip any accessories. These items are what will increase your stats.
Now, for equipping items.
Every item has a certain stat bonus that they give when you equip it. Let's say we have this item:
Every once in a while a GM can interfere in your battle with a mob, informing you that you obtained an unidentified equipment item. It can be any rarity the staff member chooses, and it's stats will be determined by the GM itself.. You can allocate those stat points to wherever you wish at an item identifier in any town, and give the item a proper name of your choice. The price is decided by the amount of stats you get on that item. Every point on that item costs 100 gold. So if you get 3 points, you have to pay 300 gold.
Monsters in Project Lynnvale are aggressive towards players. They don't drop equipment. Most items you will wear will be either boss drops or bought in shops or from other players in the market. Every monster when killed gives a certain amount of experience points, gold, and a drop that they give. These settings are decided by players themselves accordingly. WHEN THE MAX LEVEL OF A ZONE IS REACHED, IF IT'S REACHED BY A QUEST, ANY ADDITIONAL XP YOU GET FROM IT STAYS FOR THE NEXT LEVEL, BUT IT ONLY GOES UP TO THE MAX EXP YOU CAN GET AT THAT LEVEL, AND MOBS DO NOT GIVE EXP ANYMORE AT THAT ZONE!
As you know every zone will have a boss monster you have to kill to proceed to the next zone. The boss monster will have a set amount of exp and gold it will drop, a range of gear to drop, but only one item will be dropped. The boss monster is controlled by a GM, and has up to five skills (active or passive) that it will use during the battle. Bosses have a lot of hp and are strong, so don't expect them to go down easily. If you rush to kill them while you are not high enough level, YOU WILL DIE. Now, you ask how people split the gear? Well, it's simple really.
When a boss dies, I will align all the players in one list, and the drops in the other. I will then proceed to roll two dice, and the first one's number will determine which player gets the loot, and the second one's number will determine what it dropped.
The boss only needs to be defeated once by someone, and everyone else can proceed, although you need the maximum level of that floor to proceed.
That is all.
Keep in mind that you can make up "NPC" players that can fight with you in boss battles if you can't find a party.
A monster, just like the player, will have certain stats. To decide, how difficult a fight will be, you have to compare your stats to the monsters'.
For example, a monster has these stats:
Damage - J
Defense - I
Speed - J
And you have these:
Damage - I2
Defense - J1
Speed - J1
Attack Speed - I2
Clarity - J3
Speech - J1
The fight will be moderate. Because you have to compare. The character has damage I, but the monster has defense I, so you will need a moderate amount of hits to take it down. If it's defense was lower than your damage, it would need less, and vice versa. However, if your damage is three letters higher than the monster's defense, one-hit-kill is available, and vice versa. Easy enough, right?
Also, if a skill is of a higher level than a monster's defense, then the skill will do even more damage than it would normally.
Quests are there to help you level if you are not willing to grind all of your time when you roleplay, which is probably what you do not want to do. You can make up your own quests, or contact a GM to get a quest, but either way the rewards will be set by a GM. Just post in the OOC forum that you want to do a quest, and if you made your own, show it, if not, a GM will make one for you especially.
Death in Lynnvale is not permanent, although has consequences. When you die, you lose one random piece of equipment. (Decided by the dice system.) And anyone who comes across it faster than you can pick it up. Or if anyone is close to you when you die. When you die in a post, you CANNOT come back in the same post. You have to wait for another post. And if in the next post someone picks your item up, well, you lost it.
You can create guilds and other types of organizations quite easily in Lynnvale, I should say. *says sarcastically* All you need to do is take over a town and establish your headquarters there. You can take over a town by diplomatic means or brute force, but you CANNOT do it alone. All other details will be written when someone actually decides to make a guild or an organization, and I will talk to them about it.
Yes, that is possible. If you want to make your own area, mob or quest, you can. It's easy. Just go to the OOC thread, and follow the instructions given there.
To have a companion/pet, you must tame a creature that is a beast-ish thing. No humanoid taming! To tame a creature, you have to RP the taming process AND have the <Taming> skill (See Skills for that)
To have a mount, you must have the <Mount> skill (see skills for that) and have a pet at least level 10. However, the latter is not necessary, but if your mount is not a tamed pet, it will NOT be able to fight!
STUFF HERE
As she meekly stepped away from the advancing undead, Mizuka couldn't help but notice just how incredibly nervous she is. Sure, it's her first day of VR, ever. Still, she thought that being nervous enough to hear her own heart pounding and to have cold sweat all over her body is a bit much. She breathed in deep, trying to regain composure.
Okay, Annabel, calm down. This is only a game - no matter how amazingly realistic it is - and these guys are just level 1 fodder enemies, so they won't be much of a problem. Just stay calm, and you'll get through this. Just stay calm, and ignore the fact that the level 1 fodder enemies in front of you look like something from a horror movie gone horribly right.
Glancing to her sides, the young woman watched closely as her foes crept ever closer.
And with a warning howl, an undead maid to her left attacked.
On reaction, Mizuka lifted her crossbow, aimed at the advancing zombie, and fired.
The bolt embedded itself firmly in the zombie's neck, and yet failed to fully halt its advance as it then rushed toward the blue-haired girl even faster than before.
Surprised and unprepared, Mizuka screamed in shock and pain as the undead maid tackled her down to the ground, sinking its teeth into her shoulder.
"Gyah! Aah! Get... Off... Me!", the ranger shouted as she struggled to shove the former maid away from her. Succeeding, part of her flesh painfully ripped out in the process, she aimed her crossbow with her uninjured arm, and shot another bolt in point-blank range.
The zombie went limp, completely.

THIS IS HERE TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE ON HOW TO ROLEPLAY BATTLES.
1. Regular RpN rules apply.
2. No godmodding, powergaming, etc. Wat. Who even does that.
3. KEEP OFF THE OOC THREAD! I require it kept clean! If you wish to talk OOC, use the Character Sheet thread. The only reason to talk in OOC thread is requesting abilities and/or creating areas, monsters and quests.
4. Read through everything thoroughly and make sure you understand everything. If not, ask in the Character Sheet thread!
5. DO NOT apply if you are not feeling serious about this.
6. Use your character tracker on your posts AT ALL TIMES! I have to see that you are playing fair. What is a character tracker? Look at the CS thread for that.
7. Logging out is not an option in Project Lynnvale. You log in and you can't leave until you are finished with the game. (Die from age) Although in the real world, that's just a mere hour.
8. Follow the rules. Don't like them? Leave!

One of the three seashore towns in Lynnvale, this place offers a variety of fish for trading, as well as food.
