// #00001 - Kasai //

Kasai continued to cross her interlocked and heavily locked arms within the almost exaggeratedly thick covers, letting out a huff as she leant against the wall, eyes closed and brows furrowed as she let out a left angled snicker, tapping one foots heel against the wall behind her impatiently. As Ana finally approached her red almost glowing ember like eyes flickered open, immediately pulling the girl into her own body heat with chained arms holding her almost in a hug like manoeuvre, evidently a practiced battle movement, but this time she didn't give the usual follow up of a knee to the guts or a head bash, simply swiping the girl off to a side by bashing a shoulder against a white manual door near the gymnasium, one of the few in the facility- after all, guards were low in this vision area, they hadn't expected to have it be moved here.

Just as they went in she shoved a fist of metal against the girls lips blocking her from making more than a struggled noise, holding tightly in the darkness of the room as a guards heavy boots clacked past outside, right on cue to Kasai's estimations. The girl wasn't a genius, as many liked pointing out, but she could damn well memories movement patterns for the sake of her fighting training.

"Look- kid. we got roughly four minuets till they know something's up and I'm knocked out and taken back to my cell- or worse. So you gotta speak up and make it bloody quick" she let out in a hushed and angry mutter, eyes slit sharply as she looked into the others own, "And if you even think about screaming I'll punch you into frickin' oblivion before they do." she hissed, suddenly letting go of the girls mouth and releasing her from the hold.

Great- first part down, now what you idiot, she thought to herself with an internally directed grunt. Taking a step forwards she held close form to the other, "The frickin' doctor today said something- weird, well- weirder than bloody normal. Anyway point is he said something about me I don't get with my- look I'm too dumb to get it but you're smart, right?" she yelled, evidently frustrated with either herself, Ana, or most likely both.

"He said- He said I was pregnant- What does that f*kin' mean! I ain't ever heard it before, now something feels- wrong! It- It hurt for some reason today! Why did it F*ckin hurt so bad it was just a kick!?" she stuttered out, beginning to raise her voice into a yell, at first quivering with a malicious look that resembled rage, hot breaths coming from her mouth onto the others face.

But soon it became clear it wasn't anger… It was

- Fear.

OLIVE LEWIS

See?
Lying.

It was a small one. Ana didn’t mean it. And she told me the truth, so buzz off.

“Different? How?” Olive sighed. She decided to tell the other about her idea to try looking through the file cabinets later today.

A figure sat down at their table.

“Blaise! You’re...” Olive’s smile dropped, “...okay.”
Her eyes grazed against his skin, red and boiled beneath the earlier flames. Black and blue patches spread across his arms.

He was supposed to be dangerous — a menace. Someone they shouldn’t trust. But he was hurt and that’s all that seemed to matter at the moment. “What... did they do to you?” Olive’s voice was slow at first, shocked, but then it grew faster — louder. “What did they do to you? What happened? Do you want more food? You can have my ration, hold on.” She ran to the makeshift lunch line and grabbed a small muffin with some water before returning, placing it in front of him.

“Wait— you probably need some ice... ice...” she glanced back over to the line. They didn’t bring the fridges from the cafeteria.

What if... yeah. It could work. After all, no one would be able to tell I did anything.

Olive’s eyebrows furrowed as she created an illusion for Blaise, one of the cold since she couldn’t quite remember how ice felt. She hoped it would help just the same.

Realizing she was staring, concentrating on her work, she quickly looked down to the table, though her head snapped backup as yet another Block F person joined their table. Olive’s eyes widened and she stood up slightly, “Ana...—“ she began, cutting herself off. Her mouth thinned into a line as she nodded.

Follow. Follow. Follow.

Olive’s legs refused to move. She watched them leave, crossing her fingers and hoping Kasai didn’t mean any harm.

Ana saw the lunge, but she wasn't as fast as Kasai. Even if she had been fully rested, she was doubtful that she could have stopped it. The speed this girl moved was uncanny. She gasped when she was grabbed, but when the metal-clad hand pressed over her mouth she didn't even bother wasting her breath. It was clear to her that none of the guards would hear her muffled voice. She didn't struggle either and simply went along with wherever Kasai was taking her. In the darkness, she kept her body perfectly still save for her heightened pulse and shallow breaths. Though, after a few moments, her hands started to shake, not of fear, but of the nerves going off like fireworks.

Just beyond the door Ana could hear the clacking of boots slowly fade away. Well, this better be one important conversation. When she was released, Ana rubbed the back of her neck and tried not to think of just how easily she could have snapped it. God, she was strong.

"You know you could have just asked..." she grumbled sarcastically after Kasai explained her terms. Ironically, screaming and escape were hardly on her mind. Ana wanted to learn what Kasai had to say. Threats were unnecessary at this point, she didn't need any more convincing than the intrigue she had already piqued. "Fine. Go on." she whispered, narrowing her eyes slightly and nodding.

She started to explain, but as she went on her voice raised. Annoyance flared in Ana's chest. She was right about being stupid, why the hell is she yelling!? Did they take the brains out of the combat subjects and give it to us? "Be quiet!" she tried to whisper, but Kasai seemed inconsolable.

Maybe it was the dimness of the closet, but Kasai looked afraid. It was a look she hadn't seen and it took Ana by surprise. She felt almost a spark of kinship at that moment, to see another who wore a carefully constructed mask as she did. Cold water rushed through her veins when Kasai told her she was pregnant. Her stomach clenched.

"Pregnant...?" Ana muttered, blinking with a genuine look of shock. "Listen, calm down or I won't get the chance to explain!" Ana hissed sharply, gritting her teeth. She might not have the bite to match Kasai, but she could still growl.

"This will be complex so you need to focus! Okay?" How could she word this?

"Pregnant means you have a baby inside of you. That's why you got hurt. It grows not in your stomach, but near it. {I don't think this is explicit but ya know...
🤷‍♀️
}The same place you bleed from every month." Did Kasai even have menstruation?

Ana didn't often use her powers in a noticeable way, but right now was important. The palm of her hand began to glow faintly with bioluminescent light as she willed her skin to focus its transformative pigment. Her hand began trembling, but she ignored this and held it closer to Kasai's stomach, casting a ghostly glow upon both their faces. Not large yet. She let the light fade.

"Okay, it hasn't been long...do you know when exactly you became pregnant?"

// #00001 - Kasai //

Kasai raised a brow, still quivering slightly in the darkness as Ana began to speak, realising quickly the girls words to be true on noise and begrudgingly going quiet with a soft huff, both as a measure of calming down but also out of annoyance once again. As she mentioned complex her face had an instinctual curious and scrunched angry expression about it, both at the girl's tone seemingly agreeing with her statement of being dumb - one which she would've liked at least some protest against - and the other of the usual wording Doctor White used, 'complex' stupid long excuse word in her mind for not saying things clearly.

As she went on however her expression turned quickly from panic at first to more confusion, "B-Baby?…. like- the little squishy thingies? like the young kids an stuff…. Weird- Wait how the freak did they get something like that in me!? And what do you mean bleed!" she hissed out now not yelling but clearly distressed. After all, Kasai had never had a uterus before said experiment, and it was imperfectly constructed at best, "I mean- I bleed a f-ing lot but what…. Wait stomach did I eat it or something. No uh- besides thepoint they said they'd been trying for a long time…. Are babies- important or something? Like what happens, how did it even get made! Ive just seen them come through the fricken doors why is one in ME!" she continued, obviously beginning topic more as small sparks began to flicker in the room like small embers, even the neutralisers struggling to keep up with her dramatic temper, if it weren't for them this whole room would've been blown topics by now in a blast big enough to take out at least a small portion of the facility.

(sorry about that Huntertabbysandshark3 Huntertabbysandshark3 , I was away for the weekend haha)

The aquatic familiar, Princess, slowly paced along the small glass case that overlooked the minimum nutritional food, leaving small wet paw prints in it's wake. A soft grunt of impatience and disinterest came as the only response from the server as she slowly piled a slop of food onto Sally's plate. The food jiggled slightly as it came to rest. Sally's nose stiffened in disgust as even with her dull vision, the silhouette couldn't make it look any more appetizing. All her hopes of cotton candy, lollipops, fruit loops, and even ICE CREAM shattered. Her shoulders sulked for a moment before a soft giggle escaped her lips as Princess, like any devious feline, now appeared behind the woman proudly presenting an apple trapped within its jaw by the stem.

"What's so funny, runt?" the woman snorted, surprised by the child's joy in her false cooking. In that moment, she realized the absence of Princess and turned around to face her now one apple less fruit basket, and in a vain attempt, tried to grasp Princess as it leapt across to stand once again on the glass cage, then again to the tray to present Sally the apple, taking a moment to glare back at the server who at this point was bright red with rage. Sally gently scratched behind Princess's ear, emitting a cooing noise from it as she took the apple.

Oblivious to the woman about to call over a guard, she promptly bit into the apple, enjoying every second of the sweet taste. Following this, Sally glanced up with her paled eyes, tilting her head innocently at the woman as she swayed back and forth. "You know, I learned the saying ... an apple a day keeps the doctor away.. So I took this bec-", she started to say before being cut off harshly, "Nothing you can do will keep the doctors away, you spoiled brat." The woman laughed wickedly for only a moment more before Sally finished, " Not for me.... for you, you should see a doctor, miss...the blood is running very slow near your heart.", Sally blinked, almost confused by the implications of the physiology. The woman's face paled.

As Sally started to take another delicious bite of her prized apple, she froze in fear as she felt something wrap around her ankle. Her eyes widened as she threw up her hands in surrender, still holding her half eaten stolen apple. She dropped it guiltily to the ground. " ID 000271!" She promptly replied, thinking it was a guard coming to punish her. In that swift, surprise moment, Princess jumped onto Sally's head, facing her captor behind her. Its once flowing fur no longer, but now a stiff, hardened sheet of ice, icicles sticking up like fur on the back. An echoed growl emitted from the feline as it came to face Vleer. Princess's head tilted in confusion, seeing Vleer and intrigued by their odd appearance, yet friendly attitude. With a suspicious coo, Princess jumped off Sally to inspect the tentacle wrapped around Sally's ankle as she slowly turned around to face Vleer. Sally laughed, embarrassed by her reaction to Vleer's introduction, realizing she was another subject like her, and with a swift, timid offering, Sally held out the half eaten apple with a sheepish grin. "Oh... my name is Sally! Sally May..". Sally glanced at Vleer more curiously now, finding her appearance much more different than the other kids she had seen before. Vleer was friendly, and that was what mattered most to her anyway. With that thought, she too learned that Vleer was a hyper one, already off to greet the next person. She laughed once more as she held her tray of food, watching Vleer's interaction with people, and theirs to her. It was a change for Sally, all these people seemed like a big family, a happy one despite their situation. With a shrug, she slowly walked toward the group, sliding her tray onto the table next to the group. Once she found her way onto the bench, she eyed the others, listening to their conversation, but remaining silent as she began to eat, swaying her legs as they were too short to reach the ground. She was so awe-struck by the group, some of whom brought to her attention the injuries that freshly marked the blond-headed boy; her curious watching turned into full out wide-eyed staring.

Why bother caring?
Blaise’s rather ravenous and quick wolfing down of his good was briefly interrupted by a feminine voice that struck out off to his left. Pausing, he listened on to what they had to say before finally looking over to see who had addressed him. Much to his surprise, it was Ana who had been the first to inquire of his well being. Given her all too apparent distrust of him, and lack of interest from the previous day, it was a wonder why she even bothered asking. There was a long pause, and before Blaise could give any reply, the doors opened and a flash of red went by in the corner of his eye. He knew it was Kasai, and due to her presence he felt his stomach drop. Vigorously nodding his head a few times, he quickly hid his face and resumed eating.

Of course, the situation only got worse from their. Kasai, for one reason or another, had decided to approach the table he sat at and talk to Ana of all people. While that interaction went on, Blaise didn’t dare look up and instead opted to pretend that neither of them were there. He felt so ashamed of himself for giving in to the white coats desires. He’d attacked the only person in this life that had ever treated him like a friend in the slightest, so what kind of person did that make him? Sure she had a healing factor, and had actually encouraged him to not hold back, it still didn’t change how awful he felt. The others were right to judge him as they had, he really was a monster. Oddly enough the two left together, and Blaise finally did look up to watch them leave before finally finishing up the last few scraps of his breakfast.

While he was finishing up, he felt a new pair of eyes on him that had a different feel than the uneasy hues staring him down. Upon glancing up and around, he saw that a little girl looking to be no older than around eight had joined them at the table. He’d never seen her before, and hadn’t even noticed her arrival until now. A rather wide eyed look was being given to him, and he couldn’t tell if it was out of concern or bewilderment. Whatever it was, it lacked the prominent detail of fear toward a monster. This was much appreciated, it was actually quite nice for someone to look at him without disdain or fear purely because of his origins in cell F. Hoping to ease whatever concerns she had, he simply offered the small girl a kind smile as a gesture to show he was okay.

Some people seemed to have a hard time believing this, and now it was Olive’s turn to fret and try to ‘help’ him. Blaise did everything in his power to try and ease her worry and have her stop the tangent she was one, but it was all in vain. And he found himself staring down a muffin and a cup of water. Despite the food he’d already gorged himself on, his stomach still roared with desire for more sustenance. Not being able to help himself, he quickly ate the muffin and downed the water. Hoping that was the end of it all, he was about to grab his board and write a message for her when suddenly he felt and unbearable chill go up his spine. Groaning, he rested his head on the table as he began shivering like no other. Peaking up, he could see that Olive was concentrating on him a fair bit, giving him the notion that she was the one causing this feeling.

So, her powers entailed illusions? How odd, but cool. He knew her heart was in the right place, and that she was just trying to help. But it was honestly making everything just a little worse. So he hastily scooped up his board and marker before writing a small two word message and posting it up for her to see.

“Please stop.”

Even though Kasai was her elder, Ana felt like she was talking to someone much younger. Of course, Kasai wouldn't know anything about babies. She'd never been on the outside and why would they tell her? From the way that she was talking it was clear that she didn't take any part in the making of this, which lead to the conclusion that they must have put it in her. Did they cut her open and implant it? Was that possible? She didn't know. At least she didn't have to explain greater details.

"Yes, like the youngest kids you can think of but smaller. It's still growing... and...its also sleeping. Everyone was a baby at one point, even you, and then they grow up" she explained, frowning a bit when she was confused about the bleeding. Kasai should know what she was talking about. Maybe some girls didn't have it? Or something was wrong. Probably the second. Nothing was right in this place. "Forget about the blood part. You probably just don't get it like the rest of us." She didn't want her to panic even more so she added to it. "You regenerate faster than us so you probably don't bleed from your uterus. Our bodies are just weaker."

She pinched the bridge of her nose when Kasai asked if she ate it. "No, you didn't eat it. They must have done an operation on you when you were unconscious."

Oh god, what sort of monster are they trying to grow in her? Even Ana felt afraid, but not exactly of the unborn. If it happened to Kasai what was stopping them from doing it to the other girls? She and Olive... No. She wouldn't let them. She'd...she stopped thinking there, afraid of her own dark thoughts.

"Calm down, it's okay. You won't die from it. And it shouldn't hurt if you don't hit your stomach." She was quick to note the sparks flickering in the air like angry fireflies. This was dangerous. She didn't blame the girl for freaking out, she would be too, the only difference was that she wouldn't torch a room. Even as the air began to grow hot, Ana remained calm. Or at least, she looked like it.

She needed to prevent Kasai from panicking even more. At least until the guards found them. "Kasai, look at me! I've seen you get shot down a hundred times and get back up every single time. This is nothing. People on the Outside have babies and they aren't half as strong as you are." Maybe talking about the outside, a place she hadn't seen, would redirect her mind.

OLIVE LEWIS
‘Please stop.’

Olive’s face heated up. Her illusion quickly collapsed. “Sorry, sorry. I was just trying to help.” She thought about offering Blaise another illusion but figured that attempt would fall flat on it’s face as well.

Olive usually didn’t talk much, unless she was with Boris and Ana, of course, but she supposes since Blaise was going to be a regular at “the cool kids table” — as Boris put it — she figured their was no harm in chatting.

“So, what happened?” She asked, a bit hesitantly. Olive assumed his injuries were from the only pyro she knew — Subject Oh - One —, but there was no way to know for sure unless she asked.

The small girl Olive saw earlier sat down at the table beside them. She gave a small smile and waved, “Are you new?” She asked, then glanced down to the cat that followed her. She wondered if she could replicate it later.

Ana was gone still. Olive fidgeted in her seat as she glanced over towards the door.

She’ll be okay. She’s smart.

Her own words weren’t as reassuring as she hoped.

You should see the other guy...
Once the illusion had subsided, Blaise took in a deep breath with spark flying from his mouth ever so slightly. The shivering soon stopped, and the pyro was back to his normal beat up self. After her quick apology, he waved his hands in a ‘no no no’ fashion and grinned at her. Gestures weren’t enough, so he also wrote something down.

“Don’t be sorry! I know you were just trying to help my punk ass out. It’s just the cold and I don’t necessarily get along.” He erased and scrawled some more, “So am I correct in saying your ability goes along the lines of illusions? If so, do you think you might be able to try something. I dunno, tropical? Warmth is much more relaxing and relieving to me.” An embarrasses expression came to his face after he showed the message and he quickly wrote something more down. “I mean you don’t have to by any means, you do it only if you wish. I don’t want to force you.”

When inquired about the reason behind his injuries, Blaise shuddered a bit and cringed. He really didn’t want to talk about it, but given the fact that he had fresh burns he couldn’t give some lame ass excuse like he fell down the stairs. Finally, he shook his head and picked up the board once more.

“The bastard white coats put me and Kasai against one another for training. An all out brawl. But, she’s the only friend I’ve ever known in this hellhole. So I made the choice to hold back and try not to hurt her so much. As you can see, she didn’t exactly feel the same. So yeah, that’s why I’m all messed up. It wasn’t the best way to start my morning, I’ll tell you that much.”

Sally's pale eyes passively watched the interactions and expressions of the children sitting at the table close to her. She couldn't help but notice the tension that arose from the arrival of a vibrant red-headed girl, one that seemed quite serious and upset when she approached Ana, and seemed to leave the injured boy in a distressed state. She gulped nervously, maybe not all the subjects were nice...maybe some were more dangerous than the wicked doctors. She tried to not let her imagination get the best of her, curiosity outweighing intimidation she felt around the older children. As her gaze shifted back to the wounds on the injured boy, she suddenly realized that she was rudely staring when he offered her a kind smile. She promptly looked back down to her food, embarrassed, but appreciating the simple act of his reassurance. One thing she had learned in this walled world is that smiles often hid many secrets. Doctors would always use these tactics to create a sense of security, security that did not exist for her; like daggers waiting behind pearly white doors.. Or the saddened smiles that one of her old care-giver would use to mask all the terrors she knew was to come. It seemed to her that smiles hid more lies than frowns. This smile seemed to her more similar to the latter.

For a brief moment, she poked at her food with a fork. She examined it, deciding it looked similar to a jellyfish, trapped helplessly out of water; her imagination suddenly hindered her hunger. Slowly but surely, Sally glanced up once more from her food, intrigued as a girl that sat not far from her was attending to his wounds with some sort of "magic". She wasn't sure what was done, but it seemed to cool him. Could she possess similar powers to her? She could see nothing that would indicate sign of ice, yet he looked covered in it. Excitement stirred back into her as she relaxed. Quickly forgetting that she was staring before, she resumed as she tried to keep up with Blaise's writing and "stealthy" slid the tray and herself closer to the group to read. She still had a lot to learn, but she could make out some words. It was enough to give her a basic understanding, which made her even more enthralled in the story as Olive asked further questions.

As Olive addressed Sally, she perked up at the girl's friendly voice, and as if on cue, Princess hopped onto the bench beside Sally, curiously peering up at Olive. Sally nodded swiftly, only then pausing to consider the term "new". "It's my first day that I am allowed to join the "Cafeteria". I am old enough now and behaved!... er...my name is 00- Sally! - and this here is Princess." She held out her arms on either side of the feline whose fur once again melted into a smooth water coat, as if showcasing a prized award. Sally hesitated once more, as if she wasn't sure how introductions were supposed to go. Based on the only forms of introduction she'd seen in the past between other scientists, she threw out her small hand for a handshake, only making the slight mistake of holding her palm upward instead of sideways. One that she would offer to Blaise as well if the opportunity allowed. She offered Olive a wide smile resulting in a light squint of her eyes as she waited. "What are yours?"

Miracle Bellgrave (Subject #00204)
" Subject #00204 ! " Miracle heard a voice call. Miracle stirred as she awoke from her unconscious state. She couldn't think at all. All she felt was a killing pain burning at the back of her neck, a terrible headache, and many more unpleasant feelings. Miracle opened her eyes and was greeted by a blinding light. " Oh my lord ! " Miracle jumped in shock covering her eyes to avoid being blinded. " Ah, you're awake. " the voice bluntly replied, the light disappearing. Miracle started hyperventilating. She couldn't think straight at all. First she was greeted with pain, then she was blinded by light. She was going to die.

" Open your eyes, #00204 ! " the voice commanded harshly. Miracle reluctantly opened her eyes and was relieved the light was no longer shining on her. She felt some kind of pressure on her head, and when she reached up to see what was on her head, Miracle felt a cloth wrapped around the side of her head. ' Oh, that's right. I tried to escape again....' Miracle thought to herself.

Blinking twice, Miracle began to focus her vision. A figure in a familiar white lab coat towered over her with an impatient look on his face. Looking around at her surroundings, Miracle realised that she was back in her holding cell. She was placed on the ground of her cell in the worst, most uncomfortable position anyone could sit in.

Picking herself up from the stone floor, Miracle looked up at the scientist in her cell. She recognised this man, he was the one that comes along everytime she tries to escape. " Hey Reo. Come to visit me again? " Miracle sarcastically asked, earning a grumble from the scientist. " Your recent attempt to escape was just a few days ago, can't you pipe down on the escapes, you brat ? " Reo spat, tapping his fingertips impatiently against his clipboard. Miracle loved annoying Reo, it was like the weekly entertainment she gets for an attempt to escape.

Plopping down on the floor, Miracle waited for Reo to ramble on about his regrets. " Well #00204, you have officially earned more tests in your daily schedule." Reo smugly told Miracle. She already was prepared for that, honestly. Before Miracle could speak, a loud, atrocious sound began buzzing beside her ears. It was the most horrific sound she had ever heard. It sounded like scratching of metal and yowling cats trying to compete to be the loudest.

Miracle's eyes watered with pain as the sound continued blasting into her ears. She tried covering her ears, but that just seemed to make the sound go louder in volume. After a painful minute, the sound toned down. Miracle was pretty sure her ears were bleeding at this point, she might even be deaf. She looked up at Reo, only to see the scientist's smug satisfaction.

" Surprise. We got you a new accessory." Reo gleefully announced, " That earpiece will be your new best friend from now on, and I might as well never need to see you monstrosity of a child again." Reo seemed so proud of his new invention. Miracle reached up to her ears to find a strange gadget attached to her ear. Miracle honestly wished to be deaf at this point. " Reo, I'm literally a kid. You do not need this gadget to control me, you simpleton ! " Miracle hissed at the scientist, trying to rip off the gadget. Reo wrote something on his clipboard before heading to the door. " See you never~ " Reo sang as he slammed the door behind him. Miracle mumbled something about paranoid idiots as she continue to try and pry off the messed-up ear piece.

((Guys, quick question. What time is it?))

OLIVE LEWIS
Olive sighed, relieved to know Blaise wasn’t mad at her. It would be a pretty bad move to piss of someone from table BOBA. Especially if they were from Block F.

Her eyes lit up when he asked for another illusion, “I don’t mind!” She enjoyed her ‘talent’. It made her feel like an artist, painting different colors or feelings. “Something tropical?” Olive repeated, tilting her head upward in thought. If she remembered correctly, her hometown was considered a ‘tropical’ area. She closed her eyes, a memory of basking beneath the Venezuelan sun returning to her. The warmth from the sun was relaxing, hugging her skin while the wind glazed against it.

Olive did her best to mimick the same sensation, testing it out on herself, before giving it to Blaise. “Does that work? Is it too warm?”

“I’m sorry... that sounds terrible. I can’t imagine having to fight someone.”
Olive leaned forward slightly, as if asking a sensitive question. “Was it Mr. White?” She hesitated with her next words, “He’s not the best.”

“Was she... is she nice? Subject O— I mean, Kasai. She seems rude to me.”

Olive stifled a chuckle when she saw Sally May’s palm-up handshake. She took it nonetheless. “Welcome then! I’m Olive.”

She then gestured to the others at the table. “This guy is Blaise and the smiley fella is Boris.”

Maybe I might make some friends after all
The instant the tropical illusion hit Blaise, a satisfied sigh escaped his lips as he relaxed against the table. A blissful smile curled on his mouth as he finally was able to relax a bit. The pain in his muscles and joints subsided, giving way for a momentary moment of peace. Blaise only gave a short head nod in response to her question. The temperature was perfect, and he wasn’t sure where it was that she was mimicking but he knew damn well that he’d give anything to go there. His happy expression faltered a bit after her further questions about Kasai, and he had to think for a moment before writing his thoughts down.

“She was, for a time Kasai was the only other child I had met in this damn place. She was kind, from what I could tell. Then again she was the only person that didn’t treat me like shit so maybe I mistook it for kindness. Whatever the case, her heart only hardened more and more as time went on. Especially so after the many years where I didn’t see her. You see the facility separated us to focus on individual development, and to prevent further emotional attachment later on. Doctor White and his assistant were always the one conducting the tests, and after they saw the way she and I talked and acted they were the ones to put a stop to it. They have an unhealthy obsession with us for some reason, almost like they have bigger plans for us.”

Blaise’s face grew somber, but quickly shook it off and feigned a smile. His sorrows didn’t matter, so what was the point in showing them? Everyone here had suffered in their own way, so his own sob stories were nothing to dwell on.

His attention was focused on the girl named Sally, who had extended her arm in a palm up handshake. After she offered it to him Blaise couldn’t help but grin and accept it with his own larger hand palm down. He didn’t bother correcting it as he didn’t want to embarrass her any more. Besides, the adorable way she acted was too genuine to lose. Ah the funny antics of children, he could never get enough of them. After Olive offered an introduction to himself and Boris, Blaise grinned and wrote down a small message for the girl.

“Hi! It’s good to meet you Sally! I’m sorry I can’t really talk to you, I lost my voice in an accident.”

It was half true, his voice being ruined was technically an accident but he still couldn’t help but suspect they did it on purpose because of his behavior in speech.

“How old are you little one? And what sort of powers do you have?”

Rose Okami (#00192)|Cell Life
large.jpg

Rose had wound up back in her cell after leaving the cafeteria - especially after Mirage's sudden 'getting knocked out' incident and having finished her food quick enough to get the heck out of there. She scrambled aimlessly until she found her door, went in, took her blindfold off, and closed the door before finally just collapsing on the bed she had in there. She sighed. "It's a little sad, really... She tried to greet me, I couldn't see her... I would have gladly known her more if she didn't do what she did - presumably her power... That'd explain why she was knocked out, but not a lot else..." Rose though aloud to herself, relaxing as best she can. She kept her eyes open and her ears sharp to hear and/or see anyone coming, if any. It gets kind of lonely down in Block D, so anyone coming by is highly appreciated, even though they may not directly see each other. It's a nice surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one. Rose was currently in waiting for her testing period, but until then, she's a lounging girl in her cell room.

// #00001 - Kasai //

Kasai rose her shackles hands to her forehead as though someone wanting to slap her cheeks to test reality, though evidently not about to bash her face into solid metal, not even she would do that. As Ana continued she looked at her once again with wide eyes but slowly nodded, letting out a long breath as they readjusted into their normal angry slightly squinting expression, as though in a moment calming down as the sparks began to settle and flicker out from their breath moments of fiery light, "Yeah, got it. - someone who can blast this entire facility to smithereens shouldn't worry bout something stupidly little like this…." she replied with an awkward look over the back of her shoulder, she couldn't actually do quite that much damage, but it was just a statement.

An even though she wouldn't show it the comments made her feel that same thing as this morning when she woke up, something that made her slit her eyes in concentration at the thought of the weird warmth deep inside- it felt like it was there once before…. but it was still so small, and something about it made her worry and tense, something telling her she'd lost it so many times so don't try and keep it, but even so she wanted to hold it, to grab onto it so tightly it couldn't escape, though even as she did it quickly faded away, after all- she'd hurt the thing that gave her that feeling this morning anyway, maybe she didn't deserve to have it, at least- not this time. "Stupid f*kin temper." she muttered out with grit teeth, she'd lost control again of the fire, the rage that bubbled away inside her, she really was dangerous, she'd stopped denying that long ago.

"Now get outta' here kiddo before they punch your face in too" She said loudly with a harsh shove of Ana out the door, the guards rushing forwards to Kasai electric batons raised and charged.

"Thanks-" she began in a whisper before they hit, giving a smirk of someone overly confident in themselves, someone strong- but also, clearly someone hiding pain, "- ya freakin' idiot." she finished as the began to beat the living daylights out of the girl, her body falling limp to its knees as blood trickled from the room from her mouth and scrape wounds from their boots, yelling could be heard from within the cafeteria, not from Kasai, but from the guards shouting orders, ignoring Ana almost completely apart from a strong glare.

arthur continued his rounds eventually hitting to D block the end of his area, there was only one subject left there being 00192, rose, in arthur's option the girl probably had it the worst she literally turned into a bloodthirsty monster that can't remember anything afterwards, it was sad in all honestly the cyborg felt sorry for her unlike the rest of them she literally had no choice in what she did the rest of them acted like that mostly because there sciences that worked with them basically beat the shit out of the kids of course they wouldn't obey, that wasn't important, as was arthur's job he had to check on the subjects well being...well when he said well being most guards idea of wellbeing was that there not dead regardless he knocked on the door of the girls cell " i know this is not really a standard procedure but hey i'm the security officer, but how are you actually doing like overall?" arthur realized how weird that sounded but he was more used to working with vleer, and he was just trying to at least see how rose was doing after all he had already seen what had happened in the cafeteria and he knew that blood apparently set her of but not much else.

Rose heard Arthur visiting by the knock on her door, and perked up like 'oh boy, a visitor'. She leapt up off her bed and to said door and saw Arthur on the other side of it.
"I know this is not really a standard procedure, but hey I'm the security officer, but how are you actually doing - like, overall?"
Rose nodded valiantly. "Things are going well, sir, thank you for visiting to ask..." She said, sounding and seeming thankful. She kept peering out her cell door and of course had her gaze fixed on this visitor, to her knowledge, one of the few guards she encounters on a regular basis, visit or not. She stared intently at him like 'thanks for the visit, is that all' as if she was kind of unused to this. She was. "...I hope this didn't... inconvenience you? Must be hard work to go around the entire facility and make sure everyone doesn't turn into a psychopath while you're going from one to another... I can't sympathise, but I can only hope the hard work you're putting in pays off." She said honestly, looking up at him with a stare full of wonder and innocence.

seeing as rose appreciated his visit arthur smiled although the helmet covered up his face, he was glad to see some subjects where not as broken as others, his red photoreceptors remained fixed on roses eyes roses response made him chuckle a little "don't worry rose this really doesn't inconvenience me at all" the then sighed hearing the last part of roses statement and well it was true he was surprised he'd managed to keep himself alive here for that long or how mentally stable the subjects might be "thanks for your consideration, and ill be honest with you... some days i'm not sure if im helping at all, it seems everyone treats you lot as just like... experiments... like rats, they forget that your all humans...just kids, and honesty if anyone dies, it's the damn lab coats fault for screwing with you lot to much" arthur understood it was probably best not to tell this to the subjects, but hey? who are they going to tell regardless he felt better to just be honest with them "hopefully things will get better eventually"

"Don't worry Rose, this really doesn't inconvenience me at all."
Rose smiled, lighting up a little more. That's a good sign - someone that cares about their job and doesn't let it inconvenience them. What a treat. "Alright, well that's great. It's nice to find someone who's willing to go the distance of their own will yet it doesn't inconvenience them... That'd be quite the dream... But..." Rose sighed as the following words began to leave Arthur's helmet-covered mouth.
"Thanks for your consideration, and I'll be honest with you... some days i'm not sure if I'm helping at all, it seems everyone treats you lot as just like... experiments... like rats, they forget that your all humans...just kids, and honesty if anyone dies, it's the damn lab coats fault for screwing with you lot too much."
Rose frowned, seeming like she understands that. "Yeah... I don't like the lab coats too much... They're really unnerving... They just want to test and don't actually care about us at all apart from that... It makes me sick!" Rose barked, seeming to get angrier at the thought of it, and this revolt of hers slightly echoed around. She took a while to chill before continuing. "They take us, they bind us, they touch us and experiment on us, and we get nothing in return but pain or worse... I... I hate it when they do that to me... To anyone... How can they do so much to us and gain so much... Yet we, the ones who tolerate it, get nothing in return...? I've not yet asked that to myself after all of my life here, but... I want to find out..." She said with a determined look on her face.

She tried to reach out through the cell door like 'my future is right there, but I can't reach it', but of course, the cell door's gaps were too tight for her arms to fit through... Memories flood back of numerous tests on Rose and she freezes on the spot. She shut up right then and there, her eyes going wide. Seems she still remembers her recent tests... She began shaking shortly out of fear and closing her eyes, retracting her arm and folding her arms together.
"I-I-! I don't... I know I've lived here all my life, but... I still... seek answers... This may be treated like my family, but... If it's one thing I have learned... family shows love to each other all around, not just... one sided..." Rose said, hoping Arthur didn't mind seeing her grief and worries.

arthur sighed watching the girls now rampt terror he didn't really want this to happen he had forgotten others where not as perpetually optimistic as vleer watching her struggle made him sad the poor girl probably had been outside ever as she reached out of the cell arthurs mechanical hand held hers lightly before the girl retracted it, arthurs red photoreceptors watched the girl disparate appearances arthur sighed again reaching into the cell and patting the girl on the head a little before finally speaking up "rose, i understand...trues me iv had to watch you lot get...used...for whatever those lab coats are doing...i don't know what experiments they have done on you but trust me the truth might set you free....but knowledge is a curse one cannot ever be relieved of....sometimes things are best left unknown..for now" arthur knew this likely wasn't comforting but it was the truth arthur hoped that perhaps it would at least give the poor girl some solince, he left a few moments later...back to his office he had other things to attend to.

Arthur sighed again, reaching into the cell and patting the girl on the head a little before finally speaking up. "Rose, I understand...trust me, I've had to watch you lot get...used...for whatever those lab coats are doing...I don't know what experiments they have done on you, but trust me, the truth might set you free....but knowledge is a curse one cannot ever be relieved of....sometimes things are best left unknown...for now."
Rose listened in during her paralysed in fear state, slowly calming down and smiling his way. "I guess you're right... I'm sorry for worrying... so, so much... I-" Rose would then be cut short as a team of lab coats - scientists - took her out of her room by force and led her by the hands (blindfold on). The poor girl was being taken off for her tests and whatever they contain...

Rose Okami (#00192)|Testing 00192 (P.2)

Rose had just been taken away for her tests by a team of roughly 4/5 scientists, two of them leading her by her hands and soon into the testing room. It was all there. It just had to be set up on the poor girl. She was roughly handled onto some kind of machine - a restraint of some kind - of which shackled her down by her ankles, her wrists and even her waist, so she was helplessly laying on her back, and thanks to her blindfold being on, she had no idea what these scientists will do to her immediately.

She felt something slide into her mouth - like a vial or something that contained a liquid, as if Rose was forced to drink it - she didn't have a choice, so she did. When it was all done, she was coughing violently, though had to stay strong. If she wanted to make it to the next day, she'd have to put up with their tests. For this test in particular, yes, she was restrained on each major limb of her body and her waist and forced to intake things - one after another. Some of them with more violent reactions than other, and they only got worse, some of the more intensive ones resulting in screams of pain and/or paralysis, scaling on how dangerous the substances are.

And throughout the whole thing, yes, the scientists had her whole image to play with - including several scratch and bite marks exposed of all shapes and sizes. Three curved slashes along her back, a bite around her waist, one slash along each leg and two bites per leg (at the top and bottom respectively) were the major ones. Other injuries were present, but the test ended with the poor girl being sent back to her cell and seeming shattered. She was dropped back into it and she collapsed immediately, panting in a mild mix of pain and exhaustion.

Rose was face-first in her bed when that happened, and by then, Arthur had gone to check on others, so she kept whimpering in pain to her own bed and into her own body.
"...W-Why... Why did they... make me drink... 'that'?!" She barked, her eyes shaking like mad and seeming pretty minimal. Wanna bet what they made her drink? It's probably right.

Sally May (#000271)

Sally giggled from excitement as both Olive and Blaise shook her hand. Make friends: success! Her shyness quickly dissipated as she tilted her body back to look on the other side of Olive as she additionally was introduced to Boris. She would offer the same altered handshake toward Boris, more confident of her movements now. Boris looked similar to one of the cool kids of the table, one that had no cares and just enjoyed the moment without fear. Another friend maybe?! She noticed the crutches next to Boris, but decided not to say anything about them "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Boris!"

Following the introductions, Sally happily settled back into her seat, intrigued to learn more of the story asked by Olive, her eyes peered excitably toward the ever changing board of words, almost as if this was story-time. Princess quietly jumped onto the table, moving to lay closer to Blaise, watching the writings mark the board as he answered Olive's questions. Illusions?! Sally looked toward Olive, amazed at what sort of other things she could do with these illusions! She glanced down to her poorly prepared food, maybe there was still hope of her eating ice-cream today. The excitement features on her face melted into awe and concern as she tried to keep up with the words, helped by the vision of Princess. The red-head was a friend of his... this upset Sally for a moment, while talking to herself, her words spoke out loud. "Those wicked witches try to ruin everything, even friends!" Her lips sulked for a moment before becoming distracted once more as Olive preformed another illusion, one that seemed to soothe Blaise.

Sally was taken out of her "story-time"trance when she read the message addressed to her. She smiled with an understanding nod. "You got an -unavoidable side effect- too?" her words sounded off, like a quote taken from what a scientist said, "Just like me!" She pointed toward her pale eyes, "I was told I don't see the same way as you guys, you see the world clearly like Princess!" realizing this was a bad thing, that he too had a similarity, she dropped her smile, "I am sorry they stole your voice." She wondered then if the others also lost something from the "unavoidable side effects". She shifted in her seat as he asked her questions about herself. Usually she was told things, not give information to others. She straightened, prepared to give the perfect speech as she thought for a moment, "I'm seven years old!... I think... My birthday is coming up one of these days... I was promised a special surprise on the day!" She proclaimed innocently, the anticipation still lingering in her words. "Oh, my powers..." She tapped her chin lightly, thinking of the best way to explain, only to throw up one of her fingers with a perfect idea. "I control water!" she simply answered, not herself sure of the exact scientific aspects of it. "This is a new trick I learned to do."

She smiled with excitement to have friends aside from Princess to show. She promptly stood up on the bench, still looking quite small in comparison to the older children at the table. She took a moment to concentrate as the water from her glass softly levitated out of its restraints. Once in the air, the droplets softened, dissipating in the air and forming into a cloud half the size of her, floating low to the table. She watched for their expressions, ones that would only provoke her further. Without realizing it, all the other cups of people at the tables would empty of its water contents to levitate and become cloud formations as well, rising further up over everyone. The room darkened slightly as the clouds blocked out some of the light, and cooled the room. Soon, soft cold snowflakes started to fall from the cloudy ceiling of the cafeteria. Guards looked confused of what to do as snow began to coat their, and everyone else's shoulders and hair. Princess playfully started attacking some flakes that fell close to it. Sally looked up at her creation, excited. She loved creating these white water drops, as she had never seen true snow on the outside world. "They are called... Snowflakes!" she informed Olive, Boris and Blaise proudly.

Peculiar...
Blaise was taken aback by the girls sharp understanding of the world around her, even when he tried to sugar coat things as not to frighten her. Though, he supposed it was for the best. There was no use in hiding how terrible this place was from her. Not that there was much hiding to do, as even though she never had to experience it what went on in Cell Block F, the subjects were still treated poorly elsewhere. Upon further analyzing the girl, Blaise found that she had no visible abusive marks, which brought relief to him. He could only imagine the heartache it would bring him to see such a small child battered and bruised, just like he and Kasai were back in the day. Anyone would be a fool to think it wouldn’t be inevitable though. The abilities every child in this place were truly dependent on emotion, with different moods bringing different results to their powers. They’d want to know how the girls abilities react to sadness, anger, joy, all in the name of perfecting her. The use and abuse of them all was unrelenting, an eternal torment that they’d just have to suffer through.

The pyro’s expression softened at Sally’s words of compassion, a sad smile coming to his face. Hastily he scribbled on the board.

“No need to be sorry, while I miss my voice, it’s something I’ve learned to live without. As I’m sure you’ve done the same with your sight.” The girl seemed to find a sense of similarity between her and Blaise over the imperfections, so he decided to go off of that. “But we all have our imperfections here, some are more noticeable than others. We’re all different in our own ways, but still very much the same in our shared circumstance.”

“Oh how wonderful! You’ll have to notify me when it’s the exact day! I can’t sing to you (obviously) but I’ll gladly draw you a picture on the board if you’d like!”
Birthdays were such a trivial thing now, the unfortunate truth is they have been for a long time in the Pyro’s eyes. It stopped being exciting and a cause for celebration, and more for somberness and hate. But he’d be damned if he was going to ruin this poor girls excitement! He didn’t know what surprise the scientists had in store for her, but foolishly hoped it would be something to spark joy instead of more fear.

Blaise didn’t write anything for a time, instead letting Sally focus on her demonstration of her abilities. It was rather numerous that she was in a way the exact opposite of his own abilities. Controlling the state of water involved altering the temperature of it, so hers could be akin to an aquatic version of thermokinesis. As the white and puffy cloud hovered above the table, Blaise’s mind rendered the blue sky that he used to stare at before being taken to this place. The clouds looked exactly like this one, except much much larger. When the clouds all joined together as one, and the snow began to fall, Blaise looked to the ceiling with wonder on his eyes. Despite the cold temperature of the room, Olive’s illusion kept him from feeling it so he found no pain in it. Instead he grinned rather widely as he played with the cold material falling in his hands. He’d heard of snow, but in his years in the outside world he’d never had the opportunity to actually see it. This would be his first encounter with the substance, and he had to say it was absolutely beautiful. His attention was diverted for a moment to write.

“Thank you so much for sharing this with us, I personally have never gotten to see snowfall before.”

A thin frown spread across Olive’s face. It was hard for her to believe that the monster she heard about used to be a nice child — but, abused? She could definitely believe that. Her mind rushed with questions about Subject One, wanting to know more about her, but she managed to swallow them down. She wanted to tell the other something reassuring, something that would diminish the sadness that glazed across his eyes. But she couldn’t. Thankfully, the little girl put a smile on both their faces. She watched her, cheerfully talking to the two. “Unavoidable side effect?” Her face scrunched up. It’s the same thing the Men in White told her once she started getting “illusions she could not dispel.” Olive shook her head, unnerved by the idea that Sally May was already half-blind at the age of seven.

“Oh, really?’” Olive grinned at the mention of a birthday. It’s been a while since they celebrated one. “I’ll make you a cake then! What flavor do you like?”

Suddenly, the water from everyone’s cups shook a little before being lifted up. They formed clouds and then rained down small white specks.

Snow.

Her eyes lit up at the sight. “That’s so cool!” She stick out her tongue like a child, catching a snowflake on it. She wanted to tell the other to be careful when using her ability so openly, but it looked like the current guards didn’t care much.

A warm smile spread across Sally's lips as she enjoyed the reaction of others, nodding at Blaise in understanding and appreciation of his written words. So then it was true, everyone within these walls were similar, all dealing with their own struggles placed upon them. Her eyes widened from the gifts Blaise and Olive offered to her by the mention of her upcoming birthday. It was a great day indeed. She nodded her head vigorously, "I would love drawings!" she giggled before clapping her hands together, "Cake?! I never had such a treat before... I suppose, Ice cream cake?!" She half- questioned, unsure if that was even a flavor of cake, but it sounded delicious to her. As the snow continued falling, longer than she remembered happening before, she laughed, loving that she got to introduce something new to some of them. She wanted to impress her new-found friends, share with them some of the few hidden treasures she found within this once bare prison.

As she was about to respond to Blaise in welcoming, her words were disrupted by the feeling of two stern hands suddenly placed on her shoulders, gripping rather tightly. Her eyes widened as she recognized the voice. "Sally May... you were given such simple little orders... this is your first day and already you broke the rules." The ears of Princess flattened as it looked upon the guard with the large mole, this time accompanied with three other guards, all holding the same unemotional stern faces, unphased by the soft layer of snow that landed on their shoulder. Sally shrunk down, so lost in enjoying her time with friends, she almost forgot about the guards. She looked up apologetically at the three she sat with, hoping they wouldn't get in trouble too. The woman leaned down, putting her mouth close to the girls ear, as if to whisper but without caring if others heard. "You are using up all your chances, young one, maybe these "new friends" are a bad example for you, something that will need to be corrected", the guard taunted as she glared at Olive, Boris and then Blaise, scoffing at them with a pause, wishing Sally to panic at the thought of not seeing them again. "but maybe I will forgive you... your birthday is in two days..." A grin spread across the guards' faces as she suddenly gripped Sally's arm, moving her to get off the bench and stand. Sally winced as she roughly stood up, confused by the woman's next words, "You know what? I may just put in a good word so that you get your surprise earlier." - "I'm very sorry! It was just snowflakes!" Sally pleaded as one of the larger guards took over gripping her arm as another that held a cage forced Princess inside. Sally tried to resist at first, only resulting in a tighter grip of her thin arms. As the wicked witch started to lead them out, she looked back at the trio, unsure if this was the last time seeing them, "It was nice meeting you, friends!" Her voice cracked as she called out, then went silent as, still with her bare-feet she is walked out the door. The clouds that once held white wonder grew heavy and slowly dissipated, melting into rain as it disappeared into nothing, as if it was never there aside from puddles left behind. The opening doors only presented to her more despair as she witnessed guards beating on the red-headed girl with great strength and Ana who seemed forced to watch.
