Rose Okami (#00192)|Post-Test Pains (Location: Rose's Cell (Block D) -> Block D's Halls)
large.jpg

After her tests, Rose continued to dwell in her cell in Block D for a while to try and forget the pain. It was... Quite different this time. Prior, she had abnormally been treated like a pet, a dog if you will and to be honest, Rose quite liked that. However, this shift to a more forceful way of testing... seemed to hit pretty hard. Rose was on her bed and looking straight down to the bite marks and the slashes across both legs. She shuddered, but thankfully those wounds had already dried up and don't hurt her no longer, but are merely there to prove that she had indeed suffered... Rose sighed before she began speaking to herself out of contemplation.

"Hm... So, I'm not a pet to them anymore, just a freak of nature..." She uttered spitefully. She sighed again, looking out her cell door. No life roamed outside it at the moment - at least, none that she could see with her wide eyes. "...So be it. At the end of the day, this facility has bundled us monsters together in this facility, and we ourselves are a family. The scientists have taught me both love and pain in my time here, and made it so even the worst of people - the most dangerous - can still find someone to confide in..." She uttered, looking to her blindfold and grabbing it and putting it on. "...Going dark, and going to find the friend zone." She said to herself before stumbling out of her cell door and roaming Block D's halls, wherever she may blindly wander.

(Open~!)

JeaneJeane let out a scree of joy and placed her hands on either side of Alieel's cheeks, planting a quick kiss on her forehead. Her words were so adorable she just couldn't resist!

"Ah, yes! I completely forgot and..." she trailed off, realizing that she hadn't gotten the supplies for the test either. It was on her mind the night before, and she really had meant to go get some food, but Alieel had fallen asleep on her lap and...how could she wake her up? She was a prisoner to the cuteness!

"Scheisse!" She uttered, grabbing at her hair. "Oh no, the supplies!!!" What was she going to do? She couldn't conduct the test without food?

Jeane looked at the expectant faces of Vleer and Alieel. Maybe the staff had some food. Wait. That was it!

With a look of sheer enlightenment, Jeane pushed up her glasses. "You two wait here. I will get the test ready!" Not saying another word, Jeane turned on her heels and ran off down the hallway, the rushed taps of her heels echoing through the halls. If she had one talent outside of fangirling over alien creatures, it was running in heels.

Many guards were baffled, many more were used to it, but Jeane rushed past them all. The determination shone in her eyes as she rounded the corner to one of the staff lunchrooms. This one, in particular, was used by many of the other research scientists. She flipped out her keycard and was in within moments, the light from the hallway casting her shadow over the room. There was nobody in it currently, as most people only came in here for lunch. However, said lunch was stored in the humming fridge in the far corner.

Like a pirate discovering buried treasure, Jeane opened the fridge door slowly. Inside were several different lunches ripe for the taking; sandwiches, soups, salads, even something that looked like leftover fish tacos. She leaned in and sniffed it. Oh yeah, that was the stuff.

Was this stealing? Yes, this was stealing. But code 23-A-56 did say that if it is for the good of science that morality can be shifted. If they beat up kids she could steal their food. But would they get mad? Unless...

Whipping out a notepad and a pink marker, Jeane got to work.

// Due to Vleer contamination, the food contained in this refrigerator has been confiscated and will undergo testing before disposal. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please go to the cafeteria for compensation.
-management //

"There! Perfect!" Jeane hummed happily. Okay, now to transport all of this stuff? She went to a nearby storage room and rolled out a cart, one typically used to transport large amounts of samples to other locations. When she returned she filled it up with the stolen lunches and covered it with a white tablecloth. Jeane took a moment to admire her handiwork before carting off her precious loot back to the cafeteria.

When the doors to the cafeteria opened after a few minutes Jeane had a huge smile on her face. "Okay this way, you two!" she said cheerfully before pushing the cart back out into the halls and leading them to her office. "Sit, sit! Get comfortable," she said once they were inside and leaned down to retrieve the first dish from the cart. She split it in half and put it on the paper plates in front of each subject. She repeated this until there were a series of lunches in front of Vleer and Alieel. "Okay guys for this to work you need to eat one at a time and tell me which ones you like the most and the least! Then I will write it down here."

(You guys can make up the different food that Jeane put out uwu)

: Hallway

When the sparks began to die down Ana inwardly sighed with relief. That went surprisingly well. The air was still uncomfortably hot, but it was much preferred to being torched. "I'd hope so," Ana said with lighthearted sarcasm at Kasai's words. Her reaction reminded her so much of Boris, she realized.

The moment of peace was cut short with a shout and a shove. A painfully "Kasai" move. Ana stumbled out into the hallway from the push but managed to regain her footing. Annoyance flashed in her eyes at this rag-doll treatment, but it disappeared when the guards charged past her. The sudden shift in air tugged at her hair as she could just barely make out Kasai's subtle thanks.

She gave a soft 'hmph' and the faintest of smiles. "Watch out Kasai, you may be in danger of becoming a good person..." she muttered as the guards began to beat her down. Perhaps not, but what was for certain was that Kasai was not quite the monster she appeared to be.

Ana had always known Kasai's prickly and aggressive nature was just a front, a mask used to hide things within. It was not unlike her own, but to see it all break down in such a raw moment of weakness... it was surprisingly bittersweet in its sublime. Such sincerity in actions and words. Ana almost envied it. Would she think of it that way if it happened to her? She already knew the answer.

One of the guards gave her a nasty glare, but Ana didn't really pay it any mind. Even the blood spilling onto the ground hardly moved her, something she wondered was more disturbing than the sight itself. She watched the carnage passively, pondering on all that had been said. Ana didn't make any moves or sounds to aid Kasai, though it was not driven by malice. Ana was outnumbered and no great warrior, there was little she could do even if she wanted to. Besides, one of them had to keep their nose clean.

Her attention was only diverted when she noticed a small group passing. The new girl was with them, being dragged by one arm. Her hazy eyes were wide in what Ana could tell was terror. Such innocence. It never lasts. She wondered at what point she had killed hers. Too long ago to remember. The girl who was dragged in here was not the same one standing before Sally. Boris never seemed to change but she... she hardly recognized what was on the other side of the mirror some days.

"Welcome to section E," Ana said dryly to the girl. She did feel some pity, but pity didn't go very far here.

She then promptly turned her back on Kasai's bloody form, walking back towards the cafeteria. When she entered she noticed the pools of water on the ground. Well, she found out why the girl was being dragged away. She closed the door behind her to blot out the shouting from outside then nonchalantly weaved her way through the puddles to where her friends and Blaise were sat. To her dismay, she found that her seat was soaked, as were the people sat at the table.

"Well I guess Boris had to shower sometime," she said with an eyebrow raised and arms crossed, opting to stand instead of getting her clothes wet. "Shame about the new girl..."

(just realized Sally and Boris can tag team and mess up a lot of people. O.o)

Vleer waited in the cafeteria when jeane left vleer had a slight suspicion that she might have forgotten about it not that it mattered much to vleer alieel almost bat like hanging was a perfect distraction, all of vleers head tendrils collected into one massive tendril using it in much the same way as alieel had done vleer managed to hang itself upside down the tendril running down its back in such a way it sort of looked like a tail, very unusual behaviour for vleer, but for those watching the cameras it was a exciting moment the fabled form-shifting that had been talked about in the documents found with the slime, was apparently not totally lost just far far more limited than it used to be. Or perhaps it was simply faking its inability to? Observers didn’t last long as jeane came back vleer following her its tendril returning to their normal position.

Once at jeane’s office vleer did exactly as instructed grabbing a seat at the table admittedly vleer idea of getting into the seat where slightly odd instead of moving it so could just sit down, it instead coiled it’s way up one of its legs reform on the seat. If vleer didn’t have 360 vision it’s “eyes” would have been watch jeane intently, once she had finished setting everything out and explaining what to do vleer noded “ ok don’t eat everything At once, got it” vleer said with clearly excited tone hold in its voice, looking at the spread the first thing vleer when for, was the fish taco grabbing it like a normal person, grabbing it with its hands and sort of just shoving it into its body interesting enough the fish dissolved first then the salad bits, and the last was the taco itself, interesting enough "this taco tastes really good" it smiled, moving onto a chicken burger with the same result the meat dissolving far far quicker then the bread. going on through the more of the foods with similar results the meat always being dissolved first and wheat products last, the meat heavy foods where vleers favorites and the less meats they had,

Alieel nuzzled the woman back happily at the forehead kiss, gurgling loudly as she walked away as though calling her back before Vleer caught her attention, as she mimicked the alien girl she tilted her head and opened her jaw widely as though wondering if the other could too do that, of course having no real understanding of Vleer's body other than it being her friend, much like Jeane…. In truth Alieel almost had the oddest perspective of all the subjects, seeing no one as any different from the others in form or power, simply personality, ironically a rather open view despite her limited understandings of things and the situation itself.

As Jeane returning with a cart it was all but two seconds before the creature leaped on hugging it curiously tail flickering and dragging across the ground as she caught the wheel based ride back, sitting by the end in a very monkey like position, knees upwards and bent with hands down in front. Getting down and following Jeane's pointing to the seat she sat slowly, watching with yet another tilt of her head as the food was placed down in front of herself.

Sniffing curiously she poked her tongue out in boredom as she waited, licking Jeane's cheek at one point when the woman reached over close enough to her 'strike range'.

Once finished she gave a small nod like motion at her orders, "W-Wonnnnne!" she yelled out in reply.

Watching Vleer she sat their innocently, looking from her friend back to the food before slowly picking one up and bringing it close to her jaws, after a moments hesitation the fish taco went in- well, the fish meat portion of it anyway, looking quite smug with herself, though as usual seeming to not understand the rest of the food easily, continuing to poke at it curiously.

After the beat up the guards let out a sigh, "Damn stupid beast trying to pick a fight with us and then doing nothing? Looks like she'd lost more braincells in all those kicks than we thought, bettie report it to doc though, that was- weird. She ain't never talked to a subject in a closed space and not beat them to a pulp before…." He muttered, his fellow guard giving a nod in agreement and reporting it over the radio to Doctor White, Kasai let out a soft grunt listening to their words.

Dragging the girls body up as it continued to remain bruised and bleeding they kicked open the cafeteria door, passing the others escorting Sally on the way, Kasai couldn't see sight now and her head should've been aching- not that she could feel it anymore. She didn't know where she was or what to think as they passed the others at the table dragging her through the gym section to one of the F emergency holding rooms around this area made for the particular pyro, after all until Blaise, she was the only F let out into any other section.

Miracle Bellgrave (Subject #00204)
((This is really cringy, but I tried my best...))

Miracle sat on her hard mattress in defeat. She was definitely not escaping any time soon. But, at least she had breakfast, that means she won't starve, yet. The headache Miracle had already disappeared, thankfully.

Suddenly, the lock on her cell door clicked open. She flinched. The scientists came earlier than expected, but this was not a big surprise to Miracle. The scientists that came to get Miracle were the scientists she saw every day. The one she hated most was the one named Aaron, the one that usually planned the tests and made them especially torturious. Miracle got up and exited her holding cell. Aaron lead the way to the testing room while the other two scientists gripped onto either one of Miracle's shoulders like they usually did.

Shoving Miracle into the testing room, the two scientists went to the safety of the control room. Aaron stood to watch the testing process as usual. While she waited for the scientist's command, Miracle tugged at the ear piece. It was way too tight.... Suddenly, the jarring noise began blasting in Miracle's ears. The girl yelped in pain as a headache spiked. Aaron approached the girl slowly. " You are to open twenty portals as usual. We'll give you further instructions then. " the scientist blunty told Miracle.

The girl started whispering gibberish to herself, holding her head in agony. She looked at the scientist watching her. Aaron started to look impatient, glaring at Miracle through his glasses. Miracle forced herself to stand up and steady herself. Struggling to pool her concentration together, Miracle forced two portals open. The portals didn't lead to any place at all, they were just empty portals with no destination. Miracle didn't bother to find a destination for the portals, her mind only drew a blank when she tried to focus.

As the deafening noise began to blare louder, Miracle let out a cry of pain, barely keeping her two portals open. Commanding herself to focus, Miracle held both of her hands together and created two more portals. She had to go faster, or the scientists will increase the volume of the ear-deafening sound.

But suddenly, Miracle chocked on her breath. Oh sh*t......, Miracle thought to herself. The four portals that she made vanished as the girl collapsed on the floor coughing and wheezing. Her lung problems must've kicked in when her focus slipped as she was making the portals. Miracle tried to gasp for air, but her coughing fit prevented her from doing so, and the blaring noise clearly wasn't helping. A sharp pain throbbed at her chest, as though her lungs were tightening dramatically. " Well, what are you waiting for...." Miracle heard Aaron say, " Disable the White Sound and get some help before she dies....." Miracle heard feet shuffling behind her as the sound died downed. Miracle heard some guards come in and surrounded her. Suddenly, something was roughly shoved into her mouth. It felt like pills of some sort. Swallowing the pills with reluctance, Miracle managed to catch her breath.

" Well, aren't you a miracle child ? I thought you would kneel over and collapse at two portals. " Aaron laughed, earning a few chuckles from the other two scientists. " Shut...up... You moron...." Miracle coughed out, gripping tightly on the clothing near her chest. " Throw her back into the cell. We'll continue the tests tomorrow. " one of the other two scientists instructed the guards.

Throwing Miracle in her holding cell by her cloak, the girl landed on the floor with a thud.
F*ck these morons.... Miracle thought to herself. With her cell's door slammed and locked behind her, Miracle curled up on the floor and began to talk to her imaginary friend, Reed. He had always appeared after her tests, and the girl enjoyed talking to him. As she talked with a figment of her imagination, Miracle stumbled to her cold hard mattress. She didn't want to think about anything, she just wanted to go home, where she didn't need to worry about dying and crazy scientists.

(( I hope this is how a test post should be like T^T))

Alieel's declaration sent shivers of pure joy up Jeane's back. Look at her talking! She was trying to communicate so much more now that Vleer was around. Perhaps this conjoined testing was a much better plan than she had originally thought!

Jeane watched Vleer and Alieel eat, holding her fist in front of her mouth to keep in a happy scream. This was one of her best ideas ever, and now that Vleer was becoming good friends with Alieel she could do a lot more tests like this one!

It was hard to draw her attention away, but Jeane managed to briefly write down each food the subjects liked and didn't like. Vleer's love of meat was no surprise, but it also seemed that she ate the rest as well. She scribbled this down.

She gave Vleer a wide smile when they said they liked the taco "Ah yes, fish tacos are an old favourite of mine!"

After mentioning this she noticed Alieel pick up the taco curiously. As if trying to follow what Vleer had done, she ate the fish filling. The rest was just pawed at, but it was too adorable for Jeane to worry about that. "Ah! I think Alieel likes it too!" Jeane said, smiling warmly.

Suddenly she blinked, remembering something. "Oh, I almost forgot! Every good meal needs a little dessert!" Jeane explained, turning around to rummage in what remained of the cart. When she turned back around she had a cupcake in her hand. She cut it in two and placed it in front of Alieel and Vleer. "It's a good thing Miss Laura has a sweet tooth. These are called cup-cakes. They are absolutely the best! Like the better, cuter version of muffins!" Jeane said excitedly. "You know, I used to make these all the time with my friends when I was younger! One time we had a slumber party and had a competition to see who could eat the most. Man, we made such a mess and I had a stomach ache all night!" She laughed at the memory while she waited for Alieel and Vleer to react.

Vleer watched alieel pick at her food it was not a hard task for vleer considering vleer strange vision range. A tendril resting itself on alieels back as was vleers strange quirk of making physical contact before talking “ guess you don’t like the crunchy part alieel” bit of a strange thing for vleer to say considering the fact it lacked teeth and it more or less just dissolved food so how did it know taco shell where crunchy? Not that it mattered as the mention of desert peaked the slimes interest. A second tendril snaked its way across the table touching jeanes hand.”that sounds like fun... but” vleers face had a look of confusion across it “ what’s a slumber party.... umm and a stomach ache”. Vleer didn’t give jeans time to answer, moving swiftly onto the cupcake. Picking it up in one slimy had it opened its “mouth” a tendril emerging from within like a tongue it sort of sniffed the cupcake then slurped off some of the icing . The reaction was interesting the surgery icing almost seemed to case vleer to pop and sizzle like putting mints in Soda, it didn’t seem to have caused any adverse affects infact vleer appeared to be absolutely extatic greedily shoving the rest of it into the goopy depths of its body, with similar results vleer entire “torso” popped and bubbled for a while then stopped the cupcake totally gone, “ that was soo sweet!” Vleer letting out a scree of excitement “you really gotta try this alieel” vleer said a smile plastered across its face as it turned to look at its equally strange alien friend. On another note. Vleer had clearly gotten larger.

[past]

As Alieel was shown the small brightly coloured half of food her eyes widened in almost a sparkle, defiantly intrigued, even more so as Vleer began to get enthralled eating it herself, continuing to gurgle for a moment holding onto her chair with hands and tail flicking back and forth as she kicked her legs like a child.

Quickly reaching out she scoffed down the small treat with a wide and bright smile, giggling happily and giving Jeane a lick like kiss and wrapping her tail around the slime girl in a hug as what was either thanks or simply physical action of her excitement.
__

[present]

Alieel had been horrendously unwell the next day, unable to move and feather like fur puffed up fully, curled into a ball in what seemed like pain as she let out loud inhuman noises of pain almost like a cats whining. All the researchers taking great interest, and after testing concluding that as they'd predicted but been unable to prove till now, the girls body couldn't in fact process human grade levels of food, causing immense pain to her system as it tried to break it down for consumption and energy.

Eventually throwing up the remains she began to progress to a more stable state, wailing out like a sad child in what they only concluded most have been for the female scientist who wasn't scheduled that specific day. Deciding such information to be useful they reluctantly agreed to more future testing in such. Alieel's whole presence was…. more complicated than any of them could understand- after all, they didn't create her, nothing even from this planet did.

In the current morning the lizard like creature was curled up in her dog bed like mat in the otherwise rather blank room except multiple grabbing sections for her tail to climb the walls and a supply of water when needed from once again a very dog like bowl.It was quickly determined the girl could not have a sink like other experiments to gain h2o from after well, the loss of multiple cups and near dehydration from a hiss off competition with what was the very strange device to herself.

Tail wrapped around in her pose nut unlike a human fetes she continued to gurgle lightly in what was clearly a semi-uncomfortable sleep, tongue drooping out of her mouth a little as fluffy eyebrows furrowed together.

Scientists watching with keen interest through the for once not interacted with security camera, still taking notes from the effects of the food yesterday, after all the government in japan was very interested in the stay of this creature should anything more- dramatic happen, especially with her curiously docile nature. Despite the incident Arthur was yet to mention to Jeane about from the day the cafeteria got radiated.

Blaise

A Nightmare Come True
Blaise lurched up in his bed in a cold sweat, shivering and wide eyed with a scared expression on his face. Almost as if to try and comfort himself, he wrapped his arms around his tucked up knees and sat on his bed rocking back and forth a bit.

He had dreamed of fire, pure white in color, burning alive countless individuals he recognized. Ana, Boris, Olive, Kasai, Doctor Jonathan and his Assistant, faceless guards, even little Sally. At the center of it all, stood a shameful shadow of himself that was almost Demonic in appearance. His once green eyes had been turned red like Kasai’s, and his hands had been replaced entirely with metal contraptions that served only to dispel more flames upon them. It was horrifying to see from a third person perspective, even more so that it could be a possibility if he was turned into such a mindless machine of violence. Blaise reached up and traced the silver plating lining his throat where his vocal cords would’ve been.

‘I’m already less human as it is, perhaps that’s their plan. Break me down piece by piece and turn me into a machine directed only to kill and nothing more.’

The pyro let off a pained sigh before getting out of bed. He thought about going to the gym, but given his still pained state he didn’t find that appealing. So he simply limped down to the cafeteria to get a cup of water. But he’d never actually make it there, as the last thing he’d remember was a small pain in his arm before everything went dark.

Almost like another dream, the pyro woke up in a haze on one of the many examination tables in the labs, with Doctor White and his lackey there doing something to him. Something involving the metal. His eyes widened and he struggled against the restraints for a moment, only to feel another prick similar to the one before. Just as he fell unconscious again, he heard the mad researches chuckle and whisper.

“Don’t worry, child, we’re only trying to make you perfect. Your killer instinct simply must return when we need it.”

Another hazy transition and poor recollection to fathom what happened later, he woke up in the familiar space of one of the testing chambers. He was still dress in his flannel pajama bottoms and a loose black t-shirt, so he wasn’t exactly in any condition to fight. The pyro stood up and looked around the room to see five guards all standing at attention around him, armed to the teeth with every sort of weapon they’d need to take down an adept like him. And of course as per usual, there in the observation deck was the two faces of which he hated the most.

“Excellent you’re finally awake. Blaise! We can finally test out our little upgrade for you!”

Blaise glared at the two of them with a look of fear and concern.

“Do you have something to say Blaise?” Doctor White taunted. “No? Well then listen to our instructions and we’ll be on our way. You’ve no doubt noticed the gentlemen standing in there with you. Well they’re here to hurt you, to beat you, bruise you, give you unspeakable head trauma. So we want you to fight back, fight back against those we’ve taught you not to attack!”

The anger was replaced with grave fear in Blaise’s eyes. All those years of terrifying punishments for lashing out at the guards, and now they wanted him to go against the psychological trauma built into his brain and fight them. The Pyro was about to shake his head no when Jonathan spoke again.

“Oh, but if you’d prefer, there’s a nice ice bath we can give you first before we try again.”

Blaise stood idle for a moment doing nothing. The guards all approached closer all with batons ready to start bashing in the poor boy’s skull. Finally, he made the decision to fight back, but he wouldn’t allow himself to hurt them. He didn’t want to kill, he didn’t want to be put in that same position his dream had crafted in his mind.

After repelling some of the blows with his forearms, Blaise tactfully dashes in and drove his fist across the right side of one of their helmets, knocking to the ground. A backwards kick landed in the abdomen of another before he took a hop backwards to give himself some space.

Up above, as the carnage below raged on, anger could be seen in Dr. White’s eyes yet he was grinning.

“Good good boy, keep defying me. Make me be the one to have control over the monster within.” A remote was pulled out, and a solitary button was pressed before cries could be heard down below.

Electricity purged at every one of Blaise’s senses, frying his brain and numbing his muscles to all feeling other than the shocking pain. He crumpled to the ground like a tin can as the guards honed in and began smashing at every part of him they could.

“I suppose you REALLY wanted to see what we changed about you, didn’t you Blaise? After the astute observation that the beast we had seen so many years ago had died, we decided to revive him through electricity just like Frankenstein!! Your Amygdala, the epicenter of rage in the brain, must be on fire by now. You can feel it can’t you? That overwhelming urge to kill? The insanity?”

Blaise did feel it. Like a plague, he felt parts of his body shift from their calm demeanor as the electricity subsided. His heart was pounding out of his chest, muscles were tensing over and over again as adrenaline spilled into his veins. The pain he had felt from previous injuries was eradicated, and now he felt at the pinnacle of strength. No matter how hard his mind fought, he could feel the tremors of evil intent consume it as the monster he thought was gone took control.

He had lost control, for the first time in two years, Blaise had broken the code embedded in his mind and had lost all innocence and hesitance along with it. Those same maddening eyes that guards had looked upon years prior had returned, and a crooked smile creased across his face. Tilting his head for a small moment, he only looked at them.

“So Blaise, do you want to play with these fine gentlemen?”

The blonde head of the pyro bobbed up and down in a nod before lunging forward at alarming speeds to take on the guards before him.

Rose Okami (#00192)|Lone Wolf (Location: Rose's Cell (Block D) -> Block D's Halls)
large.jpg

Across the past 2 days, Rose's tests had continued as they did before - with those same machinations and methods, each time Rose came out more numb than the previous time, not a single thing about them changing. No better or no worse unfortunately, but also fortunately. Rose's schedule was pretty much as usual in such a regard, the scientists not faltering or being worse with their actions. She would frequently keep this going, sometimes avoiding testing as to do something else with her time, albeit risky indeed. But at this point, she did not care. She was in her cell at the moment, trying to remember any of the other subjects of which she had seen. If any.

There was Miracle, the only subject she had actually formerly introduced herself to, but she seems a bit... unstable? Rose didn't know what to think of her yet - she seemed OK, but that's about it - she needs to know her better. She sighed. The only way she was going to find other subjects was to get the HECK out there and actively hunt! The easiest way to do so would be without the blindfold, but that would risk her power going off. At this point, she yet does not care. She didn't want to know nobody else in this place, as most other subjects she had once known in the facility were long gone, and she is the only one of the ones she knew of that were still around. Time to meet more new faces!

Rose would take her blindfold with her, but not put it on, and she left her cell, going on a subject hunt with her eyes, ears and nose to help her see, hear and smell any nearby signs of life. If any. Danger zone - check.

"Subject #00058’s ability has proven to make no progress when she experiences positive emotions. Per Doctor White’s request, fifty-eight will be put through various tests to witness how she reacts to different situations. It has been said during previous testings, her illusions became vivid during her bursts of anger, although it will be difficult to find something to provoke her that much.”
***

The door opened, revealing a scientist Olive had never seen before. She didn’t even glance her way as she approached the man and whispered something incoherent in his ear. The man froze. His shoulders slouched, and his mouth thinned into a line. For just a moment, Olive beheld an emotion she never thought possible in her experimenters - sadness. No, not sadness. You don’t look so disgusted when you’re upset. He was… disappointed. The Man in White glanced over to Olive, sending a spike of fear up her spine and goosebumps all over her body. Was he disappointed with her? Were her illusions not good enough for him?

“Boris died during testing.”

“What?” Her stomach twisted. She waited for the Man in White to tell her he was joking. “You… he… dead…?” She choked out.

“I’m afraid so. Such a shame too. He was actually becoming less of a nuisance to deal with.” Was. She hated that word. She hated the fact that her friend was now considered something of the past. But her body had no room for anger.

Olive’s bottom lip trembled. She wanted to speak, she wanted to do something, but all that came out were strangled words. Her head lowered and her arms hugged her body. It was silent for a long while.

Boris is the one kid who could make hell seem like a joke. And now he is gone. Gone. With the thought of that one word, she let out a messy sob.

“Now, now. Just because he can’t resume with testing, doesn’t mean you can’t either.” Olive made no attempt to wipe her quick tears that rolled into her lap as she nodded to the man. She wanted a distraction.

“Subject #00058’s illusions whilst under immense sorrow, although not improving on the visual aspect, greatly improved on touch and feelings. Although I could not arouse any anger, I expect she’ll experience it very soon after realizing subject #00075 is well.”

Olive returned to her room, eyes puffy and red. She didn’t speak - not even to the illusions who pestered her - instead, she curled up beneath her thin covers.

She wondered how Ana was taking it, he was her brother after all, but she didn’t want to bring it up. Saying things aloud only made them truer.

Unable to wallow in her own misery alone, she kicked her covers off. She spotted another subject - one she’s never even spoken too - but walked up to them regardless. She needed a hug. Badly. So, despite Rose being blindfolded, Olive wrapped her arms around the other. She didn’t know whether or not she should’ve mentioned the fact she was upset. She just hoped Rose would understand, the same way creatures could just know how a person felt without any words.

clarification: the scientists lied about Boris being dead.

What was meant to be a normal standardised test had turned ugly, this normal testes consisted of vleer being put into a sort of pod device knows as a mind probe, the reason for this was because vleer body was the perfect subject for it as its “brain” couldn’t exactly melt with devastating results, and to perhaps uncover why the V.L.E.E.R was apparently erased form the facilities files aside form the documents found with it, they had tried to go back about 10 years in the slimes memories yesterday, then things turned bad whatever they dug up caused vleer to attack the staff win int the room. They lucky got out with only injuries but the sudden turn to violets was unpredicened, now it stood in the middle of the room any features completely gone form its face just a blank slimy surface. They had no idea what to do at the moment Arthur was out of commission in a coma due to repairs being done on his cybernetics. Luckily the cameras where still fine and on in the room.

Watching from said cameras was doctor sotch, probably one of the strangest staff here, the man had replaced both his eyes with what where basically multi-spectrum goggles and a set of six extra arms attached to his back, shifting back and forth between three screens one with a live feed of the lab room, another with a recording of the incident in question and last... the mind probs audio and brian readouts. The mechanic wasn’t able to make visual representation of memories just yet only audio but that would do, sotch was fascinated by how vleer attacked, ruthless uncaring efficiency. A perfect weapon in his eyes, far far better then those two sentient campfires, that doctor white seemed to have a obsession with, they where to much collateral damage far too hard tocontrol and worst of all far too human, but this was so much better. Now if he could just find what triggered this in v.l.e.e.r,

Audio began to play form the third monitor sotch listening in:

“So what do you expect me to do? Become friends with a kid?”

“Yes we have determined that before we apply the A-12 we need to have the subject form a bond”

“Why the..nevermind hey kid. No need to keep hiding everything going to be fine”

There was then a lot of static the a different bit of audio

“Test one execute combat protocol override a@$)9)$## code @##89#8$73#$

Damn it the recoding was corrupted no matter he could decider it eventually. Turning backtrack to the live footage much too the mans suprise vleer had disappeared rolling back the footage a minute it seemed v.l.e.e.r and strapped out of whatever trance it was in its features returning to its body it’s face lacking its Normally happy experssion replaced with that of fear, before rushing out of the room into the hallways disappearing somewhere into the halls around D block, not that it mattered much to sotch he had everything he needed right here and now it was only a matter of time

From vleers perspective it was like it had woken up from a horrible nightmare, although it knew to well that it was all real, it hated that part of itself the destructive uncaring monster that it was...when they just said something then HE said something....but he would never do that right? Why did it happen now? I didn’t know it didn’t care vleer was scared

An empty plane to accompany a twilight aura. The only things occupying this seemingly endless plane was a young man and young boy. As the man sat there, hugging his knees to his chest, the boy stood a few feet away, staring down at the former. The long haired man held striking resemblance to the boy. Was it himself, or someone else? While the man cowered into a ball, the boy's emotions seemed off centered. Was he angry; or possibly sad? What ever he was feeling, it was radiating heavily onto the man.

>Stop it.

The boy's voice broke the infinite silence. What ever he was referring to, the young man stayed. The boy's voice picked up, with aggression mixed in.

>I said stop! It hasn't worked before, why would it now?!

Hesitantly, the young man brought his head up and gazed upon the boy. There was a black void where a face was meant to be.

>א̨͚͔̐͊̈́ח ̢̘͚͓̈́̓͗̆̕͟ג͓͗ד̦̺͍̝̣̆͌̐̉̉ו̮̆ל͎̅

The young man flinched at the boy's indistinguishable words.

"Stop calling me that..." He finally spoke up.

>You're weak.

"You're not real."

>I did, and always will exist.

"You're dead."

>Not in here.

"That's not what I mean"

>I know exactly what you mean. I'm as real as your memories.

"You're not him."

>I'm the closest thing you'll get. Unless you plan to dig me up.

"..."

>So you've thought about it.

"Only to prove you wrong."

>But you're stuck in captivity. You're a lab monkey.

"And you're not-"

>Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true.

"It's true regardless if I say it."

>That's what you think.

"What I think is all that matters. This is my head."

>Then why am I here?

"Why are you here?"

>Because you can't let go. You shut out anything that doesn't fit your fantasy.

"That's not true. I know, understand he's-"

>AND YET I'M HERE!

The boy's scream shot Holden awake. As he shot himself up, Holden almost screamed himself, but held it back. What he couldn't stop was the panting and cold sweats. His hands gripped intensely onto the bed sheet. Blood dripped from his mouth as he stared down at his lap. During the intense dream, Holden had gripped his teeth to the point of causing his gums to bleed.

Rose felt an embrace suddenly envelop her while she was blindfolded, mildly freaking out like 'who is this', as one normally would, but tried to remain calm. She could feel a great deal of sadness in this person, and meekly returned the hold, trying to provide any sense of support she could. "W-Who is it...? A-Are you OK...?" She said nervously, holding Olive and not seeming to mind. She had this nervous smile on her face, unsure what to say or do, but is willing to go through with this. She could tell Olive was at least sad, but she wouldn't know what the problem is, nor is it good that she knows - spreading the pain won't make it any better as others will know and it will then get worse... If the lie gets out.

"I can tell you're sad... But... I don't know who or what you are, nor can I see you at the moment... I may not know the problem, but... If it's support you seek... You've come to the right place." She said softly and bravely, her hold transitioning into a softer, more delicate and/or loving sense - though she had no prior connections to Olive. What else is there she can do? She can try to relieve the stress and sadness from her, but that's honestly all she can. She closed her eyes behind the blindfold and continued the comforting. "Slow down, deep breaths... I want to know how I can help you... You seem... stressed... sad... Please let me help..."

"Who is it? A-are you okay...?”

Trying to respond, Olive opened her mouth, only for her breath to constantly hitch. She tried a few more times, but, as her body began to hyperventilate, she sobbed more, frustrated with her lack of ability to communicate with this stranger. “I can tell you're sad… But I don’t know who or what you are, nor can I see you at the moment… I may not know the problem, but… If it’s support you seek… You’ve come to the right place.”

Olive’s body relaxed as the hug transitioned into a more comforting one. She gave a small nod, her head buried in Rose’s shoulder, and heeded her words, taking in deep breathes. After a moment, her body’s trembling lessened and her breathing normalized.

“He’s dead,” Olive murmured, “Boris is dead.” She rubbed the dried tears on her face, even though most of them had fallen onto Rose’s clothes.

“He’s dead,” Olive murmured, “Boris is dead.”
Rose frowned. She didn't quite know who this Boris was, but - someone has left them? 'Died' left them? She sighed. "Oh... I'm sorry to hear that... Just let out your sorrows now, OK...? I'm not good with loss either, but... The best way to move on from loss is to remember them for what they have done for you, with you. If you have any of those - hold those memories tighter, and closer than ever..." Rose said, trying to further console the sobbing, crying Olive. The tears of the crying girl dropped down onto her clothes, but it didn't matter - that's the least of her worries right now. She kept the soothing hold going on the girl, trying to calm her down, though she's worried it won't work. Not only is she unable to relate (to her memory that she knows of at least, memory loss happened), she's not really experienced it before as someone she actually cared about. "Ssssh... Let the tears come out now, and try to stay strong... OK...? I know they may be gone, but... I... I'm sure you'll be OK... Just try to remember them positively... OK?"

Rip and Tear
It’s rather humorous the ignorance of power one can possess after years of being at the top of the food chain and being responsible for keeping some of the most powerful creatures to ever exist in check. These guards still dared to stand unmoving as Blaise ran in, and he could feel the overbearing confidence in their bodies which only made him grin more as he reached the first guard.

A well time swing came right toward Blaise’s temple, but was swiftly caught before it could make contact. The boy then began melting and bending the baton with ease, all the while fiercely staring the guard through to his soul. After years of use and abuse, it was finally his turn to dish out some pain. A series of combinations and single strikes were executed with incredible strength and power, which began breaking and cracking into the guards helmet. The pyro then tore the protection off before grabbing the soldier and throwing him clear across the testing facility, just to give some space between the other guards for Blaise to work. He then dashed over and began pummeling and beating into the guards face with an extreme lust for blood and violence.

Bruises, splits in the skin, and the sounds of fractures in the facial bones beneath were like heaven to him. By this point the guards face looked like a swollen peach, and as much as Blaise wanted to break in his face more he could hear the sounds of the other four approaching from behind. Grabbing the guard by the uniform once more, he hoisted him up with ease and chucked him into the closest two jackasses. Meanwhile, the other two that were still standing were greeted by the pyro summoning two bright blue puffs of flame growing in his hands, and it would be the last thing they’d see as the blind light was sent as two massive blasts of flames enveloped them. Their screams were music to his ears, and all that was left afterwards was the melted corpses of the two men with their uniforms binding into their liquified flesh.

The only sound left from the two horrific bodies was the sound of sizzling, that Blaise thought akin to bacon which prompted laughter from him. The ignorance of the final two guards were replaced with fear and recognition of defeat. Both exchanged glances before making a run for the door as Blaise ran after them. He tackled and pinned down the slowest of the pair, prompting the guard to pull reach for his taser, only to be met with a firm grip on his wrist. The Pyro then began twisting the joint in an awkward fashion until a snap echoed in the room. Left hand tried the same thing only to meet the same fate at its wrist. Then as opposed to resolving for more merciful means of death that were quick and painful, Blaise began strangling the man with a ferocious grip that didn’t let go even well after the body stopped struggling.

“Let me out, please! This was never part of the damn deal!”

“Oh on the contrary, I made a promise of a cash prize to whichever one of you could subdue him. I never promised you wouldn’t die, or that I’d let you out should you wish to leave.”

Blaise had crept up behind the guard such that he was around eight feet back, before charging in at full force and ramming his shoulder into the guards back. The man cried out as he sprawled out against the wall, only for the pyro to do the same thing again, and again, and again. The more blunt force was brought against his spine, the more and more it began to bend as he arched against the wall. He begged for mercy, even tried apologizing for the way they’d treated Blaise. But this only fueled his fire more. Blaise ripped off the helmet, and then grabbed a fistful of hair, pulling it downward so that he could look the guard in his eyes.

Die...”

Blaise opened his mouth as the machinery in his throat began to roar, before a plume of bright red fire consumed the cranium of the soldier.

Just as he was about to turn around and stare down Jonathan, the electricity consumed him once more. This time with enough vibrancy to render him unconscious. The electromagnetic bit they had put in his throat was a success.

The joy that Jeane had felt from her successful test faded by the following day. She had been preparing for her morning tests, sipping a delightful cup of coffee, when she got the call. They said that she was severely unwell from whatever food she had eaten and appeared to be in pain. The other scientists she talked to sounded rather excited, seeing as Alieel had never eaten any human food like that before, but Jeane was heartbroken. Since that day she had been feeling just as under the weather as her favourite subject was. It was her fault, after all.

Every day Alieel was sick she would check up on her, even if she wasn't always allowed into the cell [I don't know if Jeane would be able to visit?? xD]. Today she would try again.

Jeane made her way down the hallways, no longer rushing around like usual. When she got to the cell block she walked up to the nearest guard and cleared her throat. "Excuse me, but I would like to request clearance to see subject 00230," she explained in her most serious-scientist tone. "I'd like to run some checks. I am, after all, the one who initiated this...test."

She hoped the guard would let her through, even if she didn't actually have any tests planned. She just wanted to visit the poor girl.

Stay strong...

Her sadness nipped at the tip of her nose and cheeks, turning them red. Olive sniffled and nodded to the other’s words, “Okay…” she spoke meekly. She wanted to cry more, but her puffy eyes refused to let any more tears spill, and her mind refused to think about the unfortunate event. “Thank you,” Olive pulled away from the hug, rubbing her cheeks some.

Even though Rose told the girl that the best way to deal with loss was to remember, Olive opted for the opposite. She didn’t want to remember, she didn't want to think. “I’m sorry about that,” she smiled wanly, her eyes downcasted despite the blindfold that obscured Rose’s vision. Speaking of blindfold…

“Why do you have that?” Olive asked softly, tapping the cloth around her eyes. She hoped the other would give in to her abrupt subject change. "Are your eyes wrong too?"

    : Holding Cells --> Cafeteria

    // 2 days later //

Her midnight tests continued each night, but Ana was quickly getting used to them. Conserving her energy throughout the day became a must and she felt a glimmer of pride upon realizing just how well she was managing it. Even the exertion tests were getting easier, lasted longer. The game would most likely change but for now, she relished in the fact that she was thriving when they wanted her to break. As much as she denied it, a part of her craved the improvement.

On the other hand, the days that followed were rather unremarkable. Things had been unusually quiet. Too quiet, even. Boris was the same as usual and Olive was doing well, all things considered. One could even say Ana was starting to ‘warm’ up to the newest member of "BOBA" -- as Boris and Olive had come up with. In the short time since his arrival, she had confirmed her suspicions about his powers and further delved into his relationship with 01.

Perhaps it was the brief exchange with Kasai, but Ana felt a little less stressed with him being so close to Boris. A shadow of anxiety still hounded her steps and she was sure to keep an eye on the two of them, but at the very least she trusted the pyro not to combust during their everyday chats. She couldn't exactly say she liked him at the moment, but she didn't hate him nearly as much as she did on the first day. There was a bubble of peace, and so long as it stayed that way she could tolerate his presence. Boris seemed happy around him, and even Olive was enjoying the addition to their table. Ana would never admit to it, but she also enjoyed the fresh opinions he added to conversations.

Still, Ana couldn’t shake the feeling that something was… off. It wasn't just the extra tests or their new friend, but something in the very air that kept Ana on her toes. The only way to describe it was the calm before the lightning strike.

    --

On the third day, Ana awoke as usual; physically drained, sore and with a throbbing headache. It usually disappeared by noon so it was more or less a waiting game. Besides, it helped keep her awake. Her hands were much more shaky than usual, but she tried her best to pretend she didn't care.

Ana swung her legs over the edge of her bed, feeling the cold ground beneath her bare feet. She yawned, cupping a hand over her mouth while glancing to the bed opposite to her. Empty. Olive must be out early.

She got dressed, washed up, then headed for the cafeteria. When she got there she was surprised to find that no BOBA members were at the table. Shrugging, Ana sat down and waited for a time, though ultimately got up when her stomach howled in protest. She was starving, her body craving more in compensation for her low energy.

"Where is everyone today?" she mumbled while standing in line for food. Perhaps they had extra tests too? She made a mental note to ask them as she returned to their now empty table and began to eat by herself. As if there was anything else to talk about.

“Why do you have that?” Olive asked softly, tapping the cloth around her eyes. She hoped the other would give in to her abrupt subject change. "Are your eyes wrong too?"

Rose winced a little upon contact, but didn't mind explaining. "Well, from what I've been made aware, it's to make sure I don't suddenly go berserk around other subjects... It's something to do with blood - contact with, sight of and smell of - as long as it's not my own. Given enough exposure, I... I..." She froze - what would happen next probably doesn't need an explanation, as Olive would probably figure it out. Indeed, it would make her into a berserk beast-like thing, rushing at and tearing down all she sees. "But... I'm supposed to where this whenever I go out of my cell so that doesn't happen... It makes me look like a fumbling idiot and makes me feel like a bit of a zombie, but... Better safe than sorry, right?" Rose chuckled a bit, happy to have noticed the girl cheering up and stopped crying - feeling the embrace cease.

The guard looked up with a raised brow, he'd wondered where the overly joyful scientist had been yesterday, then again it was none of his business, with a long sigh and a quick scan check on a screen to the officials on the case he gave a nod, "proceed Ma'am." he said in a cold and stern tone, pressing a button from the outside of the wall opening the double door chamber to Alieel who watched faintly as the guards hand moved, not moving from laying down she hadn't noticed Jeane yet.

It was unusual to actually see Alieel in her chambers, often she was allowed freedom to an extent as a classified non harmless subject, all she really did was pester guards and occasionally lick a security camera half terrifying the surveillance guards out of their seats by the sudden large red eyes staring up at them through the screen like a vampire jumpscare or something. As the door noise clicked Alieel unravelled slowly, staring up with slightly squinted eyes and a blank expression as normal, tongue lulling out and flopping onto the floor, a small group of the strange pure white fungus to match her skin tone already beginning to spread in the area from where she lay, it only seemed to acclimate and form quickly in spaces she used for food and water means.
