Fantasy Project Anima

She looked up at the prince her eyes hazy for a moment, then focusing on him and what he was saying she quickly got up and wiped her blade on the man's robe to get the blood off. "what are you talking about of corset I didn't get hurt.....and as for what happened the brother sacrificed himself then this one went crazy" she pointed down at the man, then moved away and to the steps.

"Come on we have a job to finish" she said in a flat tone as she started to go up the steps with her slightly blood covered blades. She had no idea what had happened, it was like something snapped through her insanity. Shaking the thought from Her mind she sent her clone up the steps ahead of them as she fallowed.

The Prince eyed her with a funny look, deliberating whether she was stable enough to continue. She seemed fine, though, and she didn't even give him time to ask her if she was okay. Well, he would take that as a yes, then. He followed her into the steps leading them to the upper stage. The stairwell in the church was built to encircle the main hall. The upper stage was right above the lower stage for preachers to talk at the pedestal. After crossing the upper stage, one could see another stairwell on the opposite side leading to the uppermost floor. The residence of the High Priest.

He was growing more and more excited with each steps that they took. One step at a time. He was getting closer to his goal. One step at a time...

Suddenly, he stopped and jumped to the side. At the same time, a large fireball was launched toward their direction. Gills managed to evade it by a hair's breadth, but ended up crashing into the seats on the upper stage. He couldn't see whether the fireball hit Fang or not, but looking back on her abilities so far, she should've been fine. That attack was more like a warning.

"That's far enough!"

On the top of the stair was two person. One was a female wearing blue robe, and the one standing in front of her was the man with red-striped white robe. He was the one who fired the Magic from before, the Magic circle still floating atop his palm.

"You've committed a major crime by killing innocent person in the church. Surrender yourself, or I would be forced to burn you to ashes."

As they walked it was hard for her to push back what had happened, though she had no idea what had happened...did she really cry? she shook her head perhaps her next fight will help to get it off her mind. She had been looking down at her swords when she had heard a strange noise, Looking up she seen a fire ball coming towards her. Her mind had went blank for a second so her body took over, moving off to the side she watched the ball of flames go past her. after seeing it pass her, she turned and glared up at the one who cast it.

Looking up at the man in red she couldn't help but smirk as he spoke of her killing in the church. "it would of been another if one hadn't pushed him out of the way" she said as she brought her sword up and pointed it at the man in red "perhaps we should take this out side so I don't stain the church with more blood" she said with a slight laugh as she brought her sword back to her then moved her self to attack them.

"I hope you two are stronger then the other two or my night will be boring" she said this with a slight laugh.

"I see...then, I will have no regrets!"

A larger glowing circle appeared under the feet of the red one, a sign of large-scale Magic being woven. From his mouth streamed out strings after strings of the Old Tongue. Undaunted by the coming of her blades, he kept on chanting the spell. At the same time, the blue-robed woman behind him was chanting her own spells as well. Her circle, however, floated on the air above them instead. It was a barrier spell to repel intruders from entering their space. As long as she was chanting it, no attack would ever pass through.

"It's ready," the red one whispered. For an instance, the barrier disappeared. Five pillars of flame rose around the red one, squirming and spinning before they slither like snake toward Fang. Right after they went outside the barrier range, the woman resumed her spell.

The five flames went toward Fang like spears, furiously slicing through the air.

She watched as the two chanted there spells and in a way knew what was coming. some flame attack as well at her defective spell it was a good combination, but she had seen the flaw. "this is more like it" she said with a smirk as the flames coming for her.

She moved slightly only to let them pass though not really caring that she got slightly burnt. There was nothing she could do until the barrier was taken down again, other then dodge his attacks. When the last flame went past she put her swords back in there sheaths, she had no use for them at this moment.

She watched them like a cat watching it's pray as she took a few needles out. she might not be able to get through, but as soon as that barrier went down her needles should get through.

"Tch, once more!"

He raised his hands again. This time a magic circle appeared in front of him. Jolt of flame flickered on the edge, while a ball of flame slowly formed on the center. Upon reaching critical mass, the ball was ejected with great speed.

"Now!"

The blue-robed woman responded and, for a brief moment, lowered the barrier. The ball of flame launched itself toward Fang, but before she could dodge, it exploded into fifteen smaller balls, which curved and rushed toward her direction each with different timings.

She readied her self for his next attack and smirked as she seen the fall of flames, she had seen it before and knew she could dodge it. As it formed she was About to throw a needle when the ball of flame shot at her faster then expected, her eyes showed doubt for only a second.

Stepping back slightly she was about to move when it split into smaller balls of flames. At this moment she had two choices throw the needles and get hit with them all or try to dodge. She bit her lip as she moved trying to dodge them, yet with them coming at different times she got hit and scrapped by a few.

The red one smirked upon seeing his attack connected. "Not so easy now, huh?" He readied another volley. This time, three circles appeared in front of him, forming a trianglular formation. Three fireballs launched from each one, and once more the barrier went down. The fireballs split into smaller ones, raining down a fiery death on her.

"...Damn it."

Since their target was Fang, their movement became easier to read. Gills casually walked in front of her, slowly unsheathing his rapier. "What the hell are you doing?" He remarked. "Can't take care of an enemy like this? And you called yourself an assassin."

The first fireball curved at Fang on her right side. Right before it could crash on her, Gills swung his rapier at the fireball, the tip of his blade touching the flame.

The fireball stopped dead on its track before slowly getting extinguished.

He repeated it for every fireballs coming to their way. One after another, whenever his blade touched the flame ever so slightly, they stopped in mid-air and got extinguished. He didn't even looked like he was deflecting them; all he did was giving them a slight touch.

At the end of it, none of the fireballs managed to get past. The blade of his rapier glowed slightly with yellowish hue.

The red one couldn't belive his eyes. He was sure that guy didn't use any magic-nullifier spell or barrier-type magic, so how...? This just keep on looking worse for them.

"D...don't underestimate me!" He chanted another spell. This time, it was just a single circle in front of him. What came out was not fireballs, but five tendril-shaped flames, spinning like drills. For another moment, the barrier went down to let the attack be launched.

"Oi," Gills called out to Fang, "I'll deal with his flame, so take down that annoying barrier. You can do that, can't you?"

Seeing the three balls of flames she moved back again this time she would not dodge. She held up her needles as they were fired at her, Her wounds stung but she was not giving up. Just as then came down on her the prince stepped in front of her and started to mock her.

"I can do more then you can" she mumbled as she pointed her hand at the women as she stood behind him. She seen a flame come to her but it was taken care of by the prince to her surprise he seemed to handle it well. She smirked then put her needles up then took out her dagger as she put her hand up to the women. Her Opening was now "Lanuae Magicae Umbra" she mumbled as the prince yelled to her.

Showing up behind the women she looked only as a shadow as she moved the blade to slice into the women's throat

The two detected her evocation of teleportation magic, but it was too late for them to react. The blue-robed woman quickly restarted her chant, closing the barrier in an instant. Too late of an instant. In the split second that the barrier was closing, a sliver of shadow went past through. Fang was now right behind the woman, her blade on the woman's neck.

It all ended in an instant.

The moment her blade slit the woman's throat, the magic circle above them disappeared, and with that the barrier as well. The woman let out a muffled scream as she fell down to her knees, eyes wide with disbelief. Blood splurted out from her wound, her life slowly whisked away by Death.

The red one couldn't do anything but watch. Their combination was broken just like that. Damn it. DAMN IT.

"WHY...YOU FIEND!" The magic circle on his feet glowed brighter and brighter, reflecting the rage on his heart. He casted another magic circle toward Fang, intending to blast her to pieces. But he never finished it.

Gills's blade jutted out from his chest. The Prince had stabbed him right on the heart from behind. He was too distracted by his partner's death to notice Gills closing their distance and attacking him.

"Guh...so...this is our end...High Priest..." the red one's hand was raised to thin air, grasping toward the High Priest's room above. Toward the Heaven. Asking for salvation. Asking for help. Anyone. Anyone?

But no one came.

She smiled as she slit the women's throat causing blood to spew out, as the women went to her knees with a scream. The blood had gotten on Crimson making her smile even more crazed. She turned to the man in red as he yelled at her, her blade dripping with the blood of his companion.

She was about to go after him when the princes blade went through the man's heart.

Her smile went to a smirk at she watched the man fall to the ground, then looking up at the prince. "good aim first kill? " she asked as she started to walk to the doors to the priests room.

Gills smiled back at her. "Well, since this little lady can't handle a little fire, I presume I need to lend her a hand," he said with a condescending tone. Four guards down. Two to go. He followed her to the top of the stairs, the uppermost floor where the Head Priest resides.

In front of the oak door stood a man wearing yellow robe. His face was concealed by the hood. Yet somehow, he seems familiar. Upon talking, it was clear that this is someone they would recognize instantly. "Welcome, child. I know that this would happen, but I prayed that this would pass. Apparently, the Three Deities didn't hear my prayer...or is this destiny?"

When he opened his hood, the face of Father Lancaster, the priest whom Fang had met before, greeted them.

"I am one of the Six Guards of the High Priest of Serion. I goes by the name Lancaster. If you wish to pass, you'll have to do it over my dead body. But if you would spare this worthless old man the pain of taking one's life, I beg you, please turn back and leave."

"I was fine I had it under control" she mumbled as she hit the top of the steps. Seeing the man in a yellow cloak she looked at him with a smile. By just his words she could tell who he was, and felt only a hint of guilt when he pulled his hood back.

"I am sorry but this darkened soul must pass and you are in my way" she held up her dagger still stained with blood to him with a smirk. Her feeling of guilt had left her after he had called himself worthless.

Father Lancaster shook his head gently. Cruel fate. So this is what that word means...suddenly his eyes grew firm. Magic circle appeared on his feet as he chanted the language of the Old Tongue. There is no going back now. Gills readied himself, his hand gripping on the handle of his rapier, ready to unsheath it at moment's notice.

"Hey," he whispered to Fang. "If I stall him here, can you fight Arthur alone? I'll stop his attack. You go and blast through that door. I'll keep him busy."

"Choa!"

With a loud yell, Father Lancaster punched the ground right on the middle of his magic circle. More magic circle appeared instantly, forming a chain starting from him toward Gills and Fang's position. When it reached them, A large circle appeared on the ground as well. Small spike made of earthen material lunged from the nearest circle from Lancaster. Then a bigger one shot up at the next one. One by one they got bigger and bigger, treading the chain of circles in rapid speed until they reached the large circle on the other side. A large spike, as big as the oak door, burst up from the ground, trying to impale Gills and Fang in one go.

Gills drew his rapier and touched the blade on the spike. There was a small spark as they collided, but the spike ultimately stopped. Lancaster couldn't believe his eyes.

"How..."

"Now! Go!" Gills yelled at Fang to start the plan while he rushed toward Lancaster, rapier on hand.

Watching the priest she nodded at the princes plan, she could take the high priest and the other one of the six. She stood at the ready as the priest made his move.

Watching the spike come at them she brought her dagger up to defend herself. She had no time to react herself but the prince made his move. As soon as he said go she ran past the priest and to the door.

Grabbing the handles she quickly swung the door open then went inside as they closed behind her.

Father Lancaster noticed their plan a bit too late. With her agility, Fang easily slipped past through him. There's not enough time to cast any spell to block her way. "This is bad..." as he tried to stop her, Gills came rushing with his rapier, threatening to slash him. The priest responded with a quick chant. Layers of rock started to grow on his chest, arms, and neck, covering vital points. The blade couldn't make a dent on the rocky armor, but that was all he could do. Fang had left them behind. Gills quickly positioned himself so that his back was now facing the door. He gave the priest a mocking smile as the door behind him closing.

"Okay, old man. Seems that this is just you and me now."

The kind smile that he had always sported went away on the priest's face. "I don't know how you can nullify my Magic, young lad, but I can see that you are not someone I can take on lightly." Another magic circle appeared no his feet. "I'll stop you, even if I have to die!"

======

In the large, hall-like room, Arthur Lancwein sat calmly on his bed. He didn't seem surprised upon seeing Fang barging in without permission. Lancaster had informed him about the fate of the other guards, and he had prepared himself for this.

"Currently, in this large room, there is only you and me. I think I remember you. We've met before," at that moment, their eyes met once more. "Ah, yes. I clearly remember you. Welcome to the church of Three Deities, young lady. I know that this might be a futile question, but..." he gave her a meek smile. "Can you stop what you're doing right now?"

"there is one guard missing so I don't believe we are alone" she said as she started to walk to the bed. "and I'm sorry but I am to close to stop this job" saying this with a smile as she stopped a few feet from the bed. He looked young now that she was close to him. "I hope you are prepared to see your three deities"

The High Priest shook his head. "We are truly alone here. Sharia is needed somewhere else, and Lancaster seems to be stopped by your...friend, over there. It's a shame. Why do we have to fight? Why do you want to kill me, I presume, looking from the weapon drawn on your hands?" He slowly stood up, his eyes kept on being affixed to hers. "Tell me, child, what made you want to do that? Did I do something to you? If I did, I apologize. Let me make up to it. Or, was it someone who told you to do that? Then tell me, who was it?"

The floor shone bright. Originating from the High Priest's feet, magic circle appeared and grew bigger, so much bigger that it covered the entire room. A faint teal-colored barrier was raised, surrounding the High Priest in a spherical form. At the same time, pillars of light shot up from his palms, their shape changing into swords. He held them with a firm grip. "Please. I don't want to fight you."

She stood there quietly and did not move even when he had stood up. They were close yet far enough that she would be able to get away if he pulled out a weapon. She was unsure how she felt about this situation he was calm and his eyes never left hers, which made her slightly nervous though it did not show.

Seeing the light she quickly moved back from him as she held up her dagger in a defensive position. "Dont call me child you are not much older then me" she snapped as she watched the swords form in his hands it was a interesting sight seeing him with the swords. "you have done nothing to me this is just a job I have been paid to do nothing more" she smirked feeling the excitement she had before the job started.

The High Priest raised the two swords in front of him. His stance clearly showed that he was proficient with them. "You don't have to do this. There is always a choice. Child, please. I didn't want to hurt anyway. You can talk with Lancaster. He would've understood. He was the same as you. It was just a job for him. But he understood the foolishness of it. There is no point in hurting anyone. I'm sure that we can get into an understanding if we just talk about it. Please, my child, I beg of you."

she smirked seeing his swords go up and felt the shiver of the excitement and blood lust go through her. "I told you not to call me child" she pulled out a few needles with her free hand as she said this. "this is my choice it is never just a job, its the thought of my blade though the target the blood flowing and the rush of going up against a strong appoint, as for Lancaster im sure he is going to be dead soon if Gills is as strong as he seamed to be" she threw her needles at him as she finished talking, she was done with words and wanted to see if he was actually as strong as he looked.

Arthur's eyes were still filled with doubt and regret. Even when seeing that his enemy was in high spirit, all he could think of was how to finish the fight without hurting anyone. Of course, that was just a vain wish of his. It was the same when he'd fought Sharia. It was still the same when he'd fought Lancaster. Sometimes, there are things that you can't deal just by talking.

"I know that...but...I still wanted to try," he murmured to his own self.

His eyes remained calm even when he saw the needles thrown by Fang. He didn't even move; the needles was deflected by the barrier he'd erected earlier. The force applied to the needles was strong. She was clearly skilled in this. He silently strengthen his barrier to prepare for her attack. At the same time, he swung the sword on his left hand upward, toward her direction.

Suddenly, swords of light flew up from the magic circle below. They lunged upward in straight line, starting in front of him and keep going toward Fang, just like Lancaster's earth spikes earlier. However, the size of the magic circle being the entire room means that he could do that kind of attack practically anywhere.

Watching the calmness from him almost irritated her, yet it also made her even happier that she took on this job. she was not surprised when when the needles hit his barrier and fell, it was only to make him be quiet for a moment. his words bothered her with out her knowing why. seeing his movement with his sword she quickly shoved her dagger in its sheath then pulled put her swords as the magic ones came at her. it would be easier to block and dogde with the swords with hers causing them to move away from her.

As they were out of her way she quickly ran at him the moment before she got to him she moved her hand to him. one more time this is all she could do so she had to make it count. "Lanuae Magicae Umbra" she was behind him in an instant and brought her swords through to strike his back.

She had dodged his initial attack, but he was kind of expecting that. No matter. With each swing of his sword, another came jumping out from the floor, threatening to stab her. But it didn't work everytime, she was just too fast. He considered calling the sword where he projected she would jump to, but when he did that, the assassin disappeared. A faint shadow was all that his magic sword could slice.

He felt the space-distortion effect of her magic formulating on his back, and lo and behold, she had teleported right on his blind side. But Arthur Lancwein was not someone who can be taken down so easily. He quickly spun on his feet and with both swords of light on his hands he deflected her blades. He let go of the sword on his right hand, and opening his palm, a magic circle appeared. And then, small swords of lights, the size of knives, jumped out from it toward Fang.

Crimson was surprised when he had spun around and blocked both of her swords with his. she smiled he was strong and that only made her want to fight him as long as possible. seeing him move his palm to her and the magic circle appear she quickly jumped back not knowing what he was going to do. seeing the small swords appear and fly towards her she jumped back even further, but a few grazed her body as she moved away from him even farther.

Wile she jumped back she thew the last four of her needles as hard as she could as him as his palm still showed the magic circle. she was having to much fun to stop and would fight to her fullest, it would be the Prince's fault if he missed this mans death.
