Private for Razorstar + Syrrus

Danny's eyes ran over the boots. They certainly seemed more sturdy than his own boots, and they looked fairly heavy. But, he was no boot expert. He suddenly remembered that this was, in fact, a shop and he started digging through the pouches in his pockets. He usually carried around some gold coins, but he hadn't been expecting to leave the forest around the castle, let alone go somewhere to buy things. He eventually found the pouch he was searching for, but frowned when he saw how little gold he was carrying. He glanced over at Magpie, raising an eyebrow that questioned how they were going to pay for the items.

"Thank you, now we'll be on our way." Magpie said and with a strange wave of the arm he pulled something out of his pocket which seemed far too big to actually fit in there and dropped it on the table. It opened and golden coins fell out. "That is enough, yes? Good, let's go Highness, I am starving." Magpie then stormed out of the shop ignoring the guards completely this time, seeing as the prince wouldn't look as much as a prince with his new attire, would he put it on.

With a simple nod of thanks to the shopkeeper, Danny followed Magpie outside. He could change his tunic later, but for now he pulled on his scarf and cape, making my sure the hood covered his face. He handed Magpie's cape back to the older man, trying to avoid looking at the guards. A part of him was terrified that looking at them would attract their attention. It was stupid, of course, but he was right to be paranoid. He was the prince, and he was on the run.

"The inn for some food sounds like a brilliant idea." Said Magpie, mainly to himself as he walked down the rainy wet streets of the village. "I don't think you're old enough to drink mead though, but that isn't going to stop me. Soon we'll be far away, far enough for the inns to sell ale instead, and ale is horrible." Magpie shivered. His alcohol needed to be lovely sweet, the taste of honey on his tablet always made him feel wonderful and that was all that counted.

He held the door to the inn open for Daniel before stepping inside himself. The scent of homemade food, strong liquor and burnt wood was the first thing to hit him in the face and then the music which the bard was playing slammed down upon his ears.

Taking on a deep breath, Danny smiled. It smelled and sounded like the rare times when his father had his personal friends over. Also know. As the times when everyone got to relax and have a good time for once. He felt himself relax as his blue gaze moved around the room. It was so warm and pleasant, we're all inns like this?

He walked across the room, sitting down in a chair and patting the seat next to him. He had never been in a place like this and, although the amount of people bugged a small part of him, he could feel his spirits being lifted and his mood going from nervous to cheery.

"How old are you?" Asked Magpie as he placed himself down upon the seat next to the prince, drumming with his fingers over the table top. It was not like there was such a thing as age restriction on alcohol in these times, but Magpie felt a bit strange imagining giving a child some beer and to him most humans looked the same, especially without a beard. "Also, what do you usually eat? I'm starving and can probably spend most of our day in here with all the roast, boars, veggies and deer they sell."

Danny smiled a hint, raising an eyebrow. "How old do you think I am?" He asked with a chuckle, trying to act like the question didn't make him a hair uncomfortable. He heard the question surprisingly often. He knew he wasn't the biggest guy around, but the amount of people who doubted his age was shocking. "I'm 22. And I'll eat anything that's given to me to be completely honest." He smiled at Magpie, tapping his fingers on the table along to the beat of the song.

"Well, you are certainly old enough to be my boyfriend." Magpie grinned at him as he got up and walked towards the bar to order them some food and drink. He came back shortly after with to very large tankards of honey mead, slamming both of them down on the table with a loud thus. "Drinks first, dinner next. I ordered you the venison, I hope that's fair."

Of course it was, venison was bloody expensive, you could almost think Magpie was trying to get into the boys pants. He had ordered himself some boar and large potatoes, baked in the oven, his favorite. The venison was a lot more fancy.

Danny blinked at Magpie as he walked to the bar.

Boyfriend? Either the man had a sense of humor that he had been hiding or he was very straight forward. Danny decided to think that he was making a joke. He always decided things like that were jokes.

He smiled, pulling the tankard closer to him. "The venison sounds perfect, thank you." He chirped before suddenly recognizing the song playing. His face split into a wide grin before quietly humming along. "How old are you, anyways, if I'm old enough to be you boyfriend?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.

"Depends what me you're talking about." Magpie said and took a big gulp of mead. Considering what to tell the prince. He decided to just go with it though. "I'm Thirty... eight?" He thought that sounded about right. He couldn't say that he knew exactly how old he was, it was hard to remember, seeing as he died once every hundred years just to be reborn seconds later in a new form with the same memory just a different body.

Their food was placed on the table in front of them and Magpie rubbed his hands together, clearly very hungry indeed. The food was steaming hot and he took a big breath through his nose to be to taste it's smell.

Taking a drink of his mead, Danny most laughed. You would've thought Magpie had never seen food before in his life by how he was acting. Danny took a small bite of his venison, sago ring it for a moment before washing it down with mead. It was surprisingly good, better than he usually had, even with the royal chef. It was a pleasant surprise, and he quickly dug in.

When he came up for breath, Danny glanced at the front door as it opened. What he saw made his stomach turn with nerves. He knew the man walking in. He would've known him if he wasn't wearing his armor. It was the head of the king's guard, Ryan Jackson. Danny slumped, pulling his hood down over his face and looking the opposite direction.

Magpie was eating his boar, and therefore rather preoccupied to notice how strange the prince acted as someone stepped through the doors. He loved mortal food, it was so much better than the dirt he used to eat at home, not that he had been home for many many years. He continued to eat, pooping roasted vegetables between his lips. When he finally looked up he raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing, Highness?" He asked, looking around the inn. Something didn't seem right. Blasted blast. He took three very large gulp of his mead. If there was a fight coming he sure didn't want to fight it sober.

Danny bared his teeth slightly, resisting the urge to kick Magpie under the table. "Don't call me that." He growled, his voice lower in pitch and far sharper. Trying to act like he wasn't the prince wasn't going to work if Magpie kept calling him that here. He took a gulp of his mead, trying to act as normal as possible and trying to ignore the fact that he was talking to the innkeeper and the fact that the guard was showing them a picture of the missing Prince.

"What, don't you like your own nickname, and don't kick me! Geeze, what's gotten into- Oh." He spotted the very tall guard who seemed to be shoving pictures of the man sitting just next to Magpie in people's faces. He was going to get over to their table very soon and Magpie could either wait for it to happen and finish his meal while it was still hot, or get up from his seat and make a scene, which he always enjoyed too. He also figured that if they looked like thieves, which Magpie was so good at, then they'd be in real trouble. He there for continued to eat his food, talking loudly about a harsh trip down the mountain. "I hate snow. Don't you hate snow?" He asked the prince, chewing down pieces of boar.

Danny nodded, ignoring the steady approach of the guard. "Aye, it makes everything so much harder than it hasta be." He chuckled, still making his voice sound different. He ran a hand through his hair, spiking it forward so that it covered a bit of his face. He finished off his venison and started working on finishing his mead.

Ryan walked over to their table, his heavy leather boots loud on the wood floor. "Good evening. Have either of you two happened to have seen this boy?" He spoke clearly, making sure that anyone else could hear him as well.

Danny shrugged, leaning forward so that his hood covered his face. "I dunno. I see lotsa people 'round here." He said, taking another drink of mead.

Taking a big piece of boar between his teeth, Magpie took a long look at the picture handed towards him, tilting his head. "The princess is missing?" He asked, with his mouth full. Swallowing, he lifted his tankard of mead towards his face. "I've seen her." He added before drinking, very slowly just to annoy the guardsman as much as possible. He hated guards. He placed the tankard down on the table, empty and snapped his finger. "Two more, thanks!" He sand over the now silence of the inn.

Magpie leaned back in his seat and put his feet on the table, of course away from both the Prince and straight in the guards face. "I saw a woman pulling the highness along through the forest to the west. It was just after we traveled down the mountain! Wasn't it, boy? Don't mind the kid, he's a bit jagged, only got one eye you see. Got snatched away by the harpies in the swamps. Horrible creatures, don't you think?"

Danny nodded, finishing off his mead. He could feel the guard's eyes running slowly over him, watching. He looked down at his hands, trying to focus on acting normal. He blinked in surprise as his hood was pulled down, showing his face. "My prince." The guard purred.

Danny bared his teeth slightly. He wasn't getting dragged back to the castle when he had only been on his adventure for less than a day. He wasn't going back any time soon.

"Bah. Couldn't you just have scurried back to where you came from? Blasted... This boar tasted so good too." Magpie said with frustration as he jumped up from his seat, causing his chair to fall backwards onto the floor with a loud noise. He doubted there was a question about it, but he was going to ask anyway. "So, do you want to live or be cut through by a sword or heart carved out by a dagger or... a arrow between the eyes? I like all three." He smirked, awfully self assured that things would go his way. "Because, I'm sorry to tell you but Highness belongs to me." His smirk vanished and he stared daggers into the guard, throwing his cape a side, causing it to flourish in the air as he placed a hand on one of his two swords.

Ryan pulled out his sword, partially blocking Danny. "He belongs to-"

Danny suddenly stood, his shoulders back and his face as serious as a heart attack. "Sir Jackson, if you dare to harm my traveling companion you will have more to fear from me than my father. Lower your weapon." He snarled, his blue eyes as cold as ice.

Ryan faults red slightly, but didn't move: obey the king, or obey the prince?

Magpie couldn't help but to grin when it was clear who the prince wanted to go with. He pulled his sword, and stroke the bald over the guardsman's, making the beautiful clinging and scraping noise that only two well sharpened blades could. He jumped backwards and threw the sword to his other hand, almost as if he was going to start juggling it like a clown. "What do you say, old man. Listen to the future ruler of this kingdom, who I swear will come back home one day with enough experience to rule all the kingdoms in the entire world on his shoulders! Or, die and... well, the same thing will happen really, except you won't be there to see it."

Ryan studied the two for a moment before thinking of the King. Ignore his orders and die now, or bring the prince back and die later. He chose the first option, lunging at Magpie and aiming to stab him in the gut.

Danny growled in frustration, pulling out the dagger Magpie had given to him and trying to figure out exactly when to use it.

Magpie used his blade to redirect the blow away from his, not even close to be full, stomach. Typical humans, they always tried so hard to die. He jumped backwards over the chair which lay behind him on the floor and kicked it into the air like a children's toy towards the guardsman's face. "En garde!" Magpie shouted before snickering like a tiny imp.

It the guard wasn't going to fight fair, and threat this like a proper challenge neither would Magpie.

Ryan knocked the chair away easily enough, hissing. "In the name of King Damion LaCroix-!" He was cut off as Danny slammed into his side, knocking him to the ground.

"What did I just say?" Danny said, his voice commanding and sharp. "Drop your weapon." This time, Ryan did as his prince commanded. "Good. Now go tell my father I'll come home when I'm ready. You are dismissed." Ryan slowly rose to his feet, slightly dazed.

Picking the chair back up, by simply gesturing towards it and causing it to fly into his grip, Magpie put it down here it belonged and sat down in it so he could continued with his meal. The Prince seemed to have this under control, and who didn't enjoy some dinner entertainment? Magpie started to chew on his roasted boar, which had gone awfully cold, while looking in-between the guard and Highness.

"With all due respect, prince," Ryan began, straightening up and quickly recovering his pride. "Your father has specifically told me to bring you back as soon as possible and I-"

Danny crossed his arms over his chest. "Let me go and when I am king I will make you wealthy beyond your wildest dreams. Take me back and I assure you that you and everyone you love will be imprisoned. So, what is your new choice?" He raised an eyebrow, watching the other man.

Ryan considered his options for a moment before slowly walking to the door. "Oh, and Ryan?" He guard turned to look at his prince. "Leave your horse. My companion and I need a faster method of travel and your mount will do nicely." Danny finished, sitting back down and continuing to drink his mead as Ryan walked outside with his tail between his legs.
